Every day we step onto a spiritual battlefield, often unaware of the unseen forces at work around us. Drawing from Ephesians 6:11, this powerful morning prayer session equips believers with spiritual armor to face these daily challenges head-on.
Through passionate intercession, we address the many battlefields where spiritual warfare manifests—grief that threatens to leave us stagnant, mental health struggles that cloud our thinking, financial difficulties that breed anxiety, and medical diagnoses that challenge our faith. The armor of God becomes our practical defense system—the breastplate of righteousness protecting our hearts, the shield of faith deflecting negative thoughts, the sword of the Spirit cutting through deception. Like Jesus demonstrated in the wilderness, speaking Scripture directly confronts and silences the enemy's lies. We discover that the battles we face aren't meant to destroy us but to develop our spiritual muscles and deepen our dependence on God.
Perhaps most encouraging is the reminder that we don't fight alone. The spiritual mathematics is clear: one can chase a thousand, but two can chase ten thousand. When believers join together in prayer, our impact multiplies exponentially. Those prayers create a spiritual inheritance that continues working long after they're spoken. Morning Scripture: Ephesians 6:11
Speaker 1Good morning, welcome to Morning Prayer. Today is August 28, 2025. Grateful to be here. We're going to get right into our Scripture of the Day. Our scripture of the day is Ephesians 6 and 11. It reads put on the full armor of God that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes Ephesians 6 and 11. And we're going to go before the Lord in prayer that we will be armed and ready and prepared for spiritual battle.
Speaker 1Amen, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. We lift up your name, hallelujah, we cry Hosanna, hallelujah, hosanna. In the highest, we bless the name of Jesus, we bless the name of Jesus. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. We give you glory today. Hallelujah, oh, thank you, lord. We thank you, god, for waking us this morning. We thank you, god. In you we live, we move and we have our being God. We are nothing without you. We live, we move and we have our being God. We are nothing without you, oh God, we would not be able to draw breath. Without you, lord, the blood would cease to run warm in our veins. Without you, oh God, you sustain our mind and you keep us. Oh God, everything that we are, god, we owe it to you and we give your name. Praise this morning, father, I'm praying, lord, that, even as we are gathering for prayer, even as we are beginning to pray, father, that you would word my lips, oh God, and give me the words of intercession, the words of prayer in the name of Jesus, father. My prayer today for your people, god, is that you will give us to be ready and armed. Oh God, help us to be prepared for your spiritual battle.
Prayer for Strength in Grief
Speaker 1God In the name of Jesus, god, in the name of Jesus, god, we understand, lord, oh God, though we can't see our adversary, though we can't see the enemy, god, that there is a war and a battle that takes place around us, oh God, even daily, oh God, a spiritual battle, god. I thank you, lord, because, even when there are different things going on in the spirit, oh God, things that we are ignorant to Lord, we thank you God, oh Lord, that the Holy Spirit keeps us, god, that it covers and shields us, lord, from the darts of the enemy, from the traps and snares of the enemy. Oh God, I thank you, oh God, I thank you for your word that says that you will never put more on us than we can bear, god. So, in that, we understand, lord, that there are certain trials, certain battles, lord, that you have not allotted for us to go into, and, god, I believe, oh Lord, we believe, lord, that you handle, oh God, so much for us, oh God, in the spirit realm, father, I pray, lord, that you'll give us strength, lord, for those things, lord, that we must handle. Oh God, for those battles that you have entrusted to us, lord, oh God, you didn't set us up, lord, to lose God, but, lord, you set us up to win. Oh God, you set us up in such a way that you knew that we were able, god, to overcome the adversary, that the adversary would be unable, oh God, to overcome us. Oh God, I thank you, lord, I thank you, god, for our sixth fight with the enemy. Oh God, it doesn't always seem like we have the advantage, but God with you, on our side, oh God, with you measuring our trials. God, you are on our side. Oh God, give us the strength and the mind, oh God, to bear down, oh God, and to press our way in the name of Jesus, god, regardless of what it is and what we're struggling with, god, I pray for those that are fighting the battle of grief this morning, god, I pray, lord, that you'll give them to overcome the adversary this morning, in the name of Jesus, oh God, the enemy would have them to become stagnant and to stay in a place of grief and to stay in a place of heartache and longing. But, god, I pray today, lord, that you'll strengthen them. God, oh God, give them the helmet of salvation today, oh God, to guard their minds in the name of Jesus, oh God.
Speaker 1Likewise, those that are struggling with depression, those that are struggling with mental issues, oh God. Anxiety, ptsd, oh God, stress disorders, god, whatever they are struggling with, oh God. Those that are struggling with, oh God, those that are struggling with bipolar issues, oh God, schizophrenia, oh God, lord, god, you are able, you're able to regulate the mind. God, you're able, and God, I pray that you'll put your hand, oh God, on the minds of your people. God, where the mind is overwhelmed, lord, I pray, in the name of Jesus, oh God, that you'll set our problems into scale. In the name of Jesus, give us to see, god, oh God, hallelujah, the very size of our trials. Oh God, give us to see, god, that we can handle that which you have allowed us to encounter. Oh God, I pray this morning that you'll give us to overcome our giants. In the name of Jesus.
Overcoming Financial and Medical Battles
Speaker 1Oh God, some of us are fighting a financial, spiritual battle, oh God, dealing with lack, dealing with the spirit of poverty, oh God, dealing with the spirit, oh God, that prevents us from having what it is that we need. Oh God, I pray this morning that you will strengthen your people for this battle. In the name of Jesus, oh God, give us tactics against the enemy. Oh God, in the name of Jesus, oh Lord, some of us have never had, oh God, instruction on how to deal with our finances responsibly. Oh God, I pray, lord, that a spirit of wisdom, oh God, would rest on us.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, that spirit of self-control, give it to rest on us, father, in the name of Jesus, oh God, likewise, those that are dealing with medical issues and fighting that battle in the spirit, god, I pray this morning, I pray God, I pray, lord, that you'll give them to begin to advance in battle. Oh God, give them to begin to move forward against the enemy. Oh God, I thank you even now, lord, for the healing of their bodies. I thank you, lord, for a mind that promotes healing. Oh God, give them to see themselves healed, god in their spiritual eyes. In the name of Jesus, give them to see it in the spirit, god, even before they see it in the natural.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, I pray against discouragement and hopelessness. In the name of Jesus, oh God, regardless of what it is, god, oh God. Some may be on hospice, god, but, lord, I thank you because I've seen you turn it around for that one that was in hospice and given a short time to live. And, god, they continue to live years and years and years after the prognosis of the doctor. God, I thank you that what you do for one, you are able to do for all.
Speaker 1Oh God, I thank you that you are no respecter of persons. Oh God, if you could raise Lazarus from the dead. Oh God, if you can heal the woman that struggled for 12 years with the issue of blood. Oh God, if you could heal Jairus' daughter. Oh God, if you could heal, oh God, all manner of sickness and disease, of sickness and disease. Oh God, leprosy, amongst those things as well as others. God, these severe things. God that you did blindness, oh God. Lord, you healed, oh God, deaf ears. Oh God, we believe today that you are able to heal, oh God, the things that are tormenting and ailing our bodies.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, we thank you, lord, oh God, for fighting this battle. Oh God With us, god, oh God, you are for us, not against us. We thank you for Lord Hallelujah, the angel armies that team up with us daily, that push back our enemy, that allow us the ability to be able to move around in the day and do what it is that we need to do, oh God, I thank you, lord. I pray this morning, oh God, for your people, oh God, regardless of the trial, regardless of the size of the battle, I pray that you'll give them to see that their God is much bigger. I pray that you'll give them to feel the presence of their God In the name of Jesus. I pray that you'll give them, lord hallelujah, to take seriously the reading of the word, oh God, to take seriously, god, oh Lord, their prayer life in the name of Jesus.
Speaker 1Oh God, some of us, lord, you've been moving on us to go on a fast, oh God, give strength, oh God, and discipline to do just that. In the name of Jesus, oh God, we recall in the word that your word says that some of these things, some of these demons, some of these adversaries, come out only through fasting and prayer. Oh God, we thank you. We thank you, god, for giving us the equation. Oh God for giving us the way out, lord, for giving us what it is that we need to do, father. Oh God, to come out as victors.
Speaker 1Oh Lord, I pray, I pray, god, that you'll move on that one's heart, god, that you'll move on that one's mind. In the name of Jesus, say so to advance. O God, o Lord, you're the one, o God, I pray, lord, that you'll give us to hear your instructions. O God, explicitly. O God, not adding one word or idea to it, but God hearing your voice through and through. O God, hearing you out completely, gaining instruction and insight, gaining wisdom and discernment.
The Full Armor of God
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh Father, we thank you, god. We thank you, god, for giving us how to be fully clothed in the full armor of God. Oh God, we thank you for the breastplate of righteousness. God, we thank you for the sword of the spirit. We thank you, god, for the shield of faith this morning. Oh God, give the shield of faith this morning to block out every negative thing that the enemy is trying to sow into our minds, oh God, every negative seed of the enemy. Oh God, I pray, in the name of Jesus, that it not take root in our hearts. Oh God, that it not take root in our minds. But, god, I pray that the field of faith, lord, oh God, that it would ward off. Lord, oh God, whatever it is that the enemy is trying to say to us, oh God, whatever it is that the enemy is trying to work in our lives, god, let us be shielded by faith.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, we thank you. We thank you, god, for giving our feet, god, to be dressed with the preparation of the gospel of peace. God, oh God, everywhere that we go, god, give us the strength to be a witness, god, oh God, whether we are a witness in our talking, oh God, or in our actions and deeds, god, I pray, I pray that we would let our light so shine among men that men and women, oh God, would be saved. God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, oh God, help us this morning. Help us this morning, god, we thank you. We've made it to Thursday, oh God, help us, god, help us, lord, to power through, to push through the weak.
Speaker 1God in the name of Jesus, some of us have been struggling day to day, falling day to day, oh God, I pray that today, that the strength, God, to not fall, would be upon that one. In the name of Jesus, oh God, give them to see the enemy coming A mile off. God, give them to see, oh God, the tactic and scheme of the enemy. Oh God, and to act as a child of God should in the situation. In the name of Jesus, god, we thank you. We thank you that you've given us a blueprint through Jesus Christ, oh God. You've given us, lord, how to fight the adversary.
Speaker 1Lord, you showed us in the word of God that you yourself encountered spiritual battles, oh God, when you were in the desert and the enemy began to tempt you, and as you were fasting, as you were giving yourself over to be completely used by God. Oh Lord, the enemy, he tried to tempt you but, god, we thank you that you showed us, lord, that the word of God causes the enemy to flee, causes the enemy to flee, oh God. The truth of the word of God causes the enemy to be shut down, lord, the truth of the word of God causes what the enemy is saying to not make sense. God, I thank you today, lord, for giving us the word that we need for our trial. In the name of Jesus, give us the word that we need, god, for our battle. Oh God, be it just one scripture, lord. Oh God, we believe that the word will do the work. You showed us that the word will do the work, Lord, of causing the enemy to flee from us.
Canceling the Enemy's Assignments
Speaker 1Oh God, I pray, lord, that you'll put in our hearts, god, oh Lord, what it is that we need to get through. Oh God, to overcome. Lord, in the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you this morning. I thank you, god, of the enemy that they will not prosper today, that they will not complete the attack today, that they will not be able to overtake us today. In the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you, lord, for giving us how, lord, to band together with other believers. Oh God, give us to not be prideful when we need help. Give us to not be prideful when we're having weak moments and need somebody to talk to God. I pray, lord, that you'll give us to be able to have spiritual discussions with prayerful friends.
Speaker 1Oh God, oh God, prayerful family members, in the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you, lord, that one can chase a thousand, but that two can chase 10,000. I thank you, lord, that just 1,000 are not being chased, oh God, but over 10,000, even as we join together and pray. Oh God, I thank you, I thank you for the authority that you have given to us through prayer. In the name of Jesus, we cancel the assignment of the enemy. In the name of Jesus, we cancel the scheme, the plot, the traps of the enemy. Cancel them now.
Closing Prayer and Devotional
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, we thank you. We thank you, lord, oh God, that you told that in your word, oh God, that you said that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but that you would deliver us out of them all. Oh, thanks be unto God that causes us to triumph in his name. Thanks be unto God that causes us to triumph. In the name of Jesus, we triumph over the enemy today. Oh, the enemy is under our feet today. In the name of Jesus, god, we thank you right now, lord, and we praise your holy name. Oh God, it is not power of our own, god, but pray, lord, I pray, god, that you'll set our feet on a steady path today, god, oh God, a path that walks us into your will. God, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for covering and protecting your people. I thank you for covering and protecting our loved ones. Thank you for protection from danger seen and unseen In the precious name of Jesus. Oh God, I thank you for these, your people, and I thank you this morning for giving them to be armed and ready, for giving them to be prepared for spiritual battle. In Jesus' name, we pray, Thank God and amen. Amen, Hallelujah. We thank the Lord right now. Hallelujah for prayer, for preparation for what is ahead of us, or even what we are currently going through. I thank God that, despite what we're going through, that God is with us. And if God be for us, who can be against us? Amen, amen.
