The man at the Pool of Bethesda had been waiting 38 years for healing, positioned right next to a miraculous solution yet unable to reach it. His story perfectly captures how many of us approach our seemingly impossible health challenges today.
This powerful Morning Prayer session dives deep into John 5:5-9, exploring how Jesus approaches healing in ways that completely defy our logical expectations. Rather than following the established "system" of healing at the pool, Jesus simply commands: "Rise, take up your bed and walk." The paralyzed man was healed instantly, without ever touching the water he'd fixated on for decades.

Welcome and Scripture Reading
Speaker 1Good morning and welcome to Morning Prayer. Today is September 3rd 2025. We're going to read a little bit of a Bible story this morning, the scripture that the Lord laid on my heart. This is John, the fifth chapter, verses five through nine in the New King James Version of the Bible. It reads Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity 38 years. When Jesus saw him lying there, he knew that he had already been in that condition a long time. He said to him Do you want to be made well? The sick man answered him Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me. Jesus said to him Rise, take up your bed and walk. And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed and walked, and that day was the Sabbath. Amen. So we thank the Lord for the reading of his word. And this is the story of the man that sat beside the pool that had the annual healing at the pool of Bethesda. Amen.
Speaker 1And so let us go into a time of prayer, prayer for healing. Hallelujah, lord, we love you, we adore your name, we give you praise and honor. Hallelujah, we're here because of you, god. We're here in your strength, lord. We're here in your strength, god, and we thank you. We thank you, lord, for opening our eyes into another day. Hallelujah. We thank you for September 3rd 2025. We thank you, lord, for the blessing of another day.
Speaker 1Oh God, I pray even now, in the name of Jesus, that you'll lead us, father, that you'll give us the words of prayer. In the name of Jesus, holy Spirit, have your way. Holy Spirit, have your way. Holy Spirit, have your way. Holy Spirit, have your way. We need you, we need you, we need you. We desire to pray in the spirit and in intercession this morning.
Prayer for Physical Healing
Speaker 1Come now, o Lord and Lord, I lay before you the people of God. I lay before you those that are on the line on the replay today. O God, I pray, I pray for healing in their natural bodies. Lord, in the name of Jesus, o God, I pray that, whatever the issues may be, whatever the issue may be, that Lord, god, that you will attend to those issues in the name of Jesus. Oh God, some are experiencing pain. Some are experiencing pain that causes them to be unable to move about and do the things that they have in their heart to do. Oh Father, I pray, lord, that you'll soothe that pain. In the name of Jesus.
Speaker 1Oh God, some may have received a negative report from the doctor, oh Lord, and they're still trying to wrap their mind around how they're going to make it through this time of sickness. Oh God, I pray that you will visit them today. In the name of Jesus. God, I thank you that there is no disease, that there is no condition that you are incapable of healing. And, god, I ask this morning, lord, that you'll lay your hands on your people. In the name of Jesus.
Speaker 1We thank you, god, for your healing virtues. God flowing freely on your people in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I thank you. I thank you, god, for being a heart fixer. Oh God, I thank you, Lord, for not only being a heart fixer, lord, but being the healer of the body. Oh God, I pray.
Speaker 1I pray for those that have decided in their minds that there is no way forward, that there is no way out of this time of sickness. God, I pray that you will encourage their hearts. In the name of Jesus, I pray, lord, that the bands of depression would be loosed. In the name of Jesus, oh God, give them the hope in you, give them the hope in God, give them the hope in Christ. In the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you, lord, that when we set our faith on you, when we set our hope in you, lord, hallelujah, that it is a good place, lord, for us to set our sights, lord, because you are able, oh God, I pray this morning. I pray that your work miracles, god. In the name of Jesus, Lord, you drew us to the scripture, oh God, and the story of the pool of Bethesda.
Speaker 1Oh God, I thank you. I thank you, lord, that the healing that you showed us in that scripture, it defied logic, hallelujah. They were already in a place of miracles, lord, oh God, but the individual couldn't seem to break through. They couldn't seem to break through the crowd and to get their healing, lord, oh God, and they had assigned themselves, lord, to just be that way for the rest of their lives. Oh God, I ask this morning that you'll help us, lord. Help us, god.
Speaker 1Some of us, lord, feel that we will be a certain way for the rest of our lives. We'll be sick for the rest of our lives. We'll have given up, lord, oh God, the belief that things could change. Oh God, I thank you, lord, that in this illustration, lord, you show us, lord, that you defy logic. You showed us, lord, that you defy logic. You showed us, god, hallelujah, that you're able to deal with us in whatever state we are in, even if we have been sick for over 30 years.
Speaker 1God, oh Lord, there's still a healing that you're able to give us. There's still wholeness, lord, that you're able to give us. There's still wholeness, lord, that you're able to provide for us. I thank you, lord. I thank you that you're still the same God. You're still the same God that stood beside the pool of Bethesda and healed the man, oh God, that was unable to walk. Oh God. You're still the same God, hallelujah, that blew the breath of life into Adam, oh God.
Prayer for Neurological Healing
Speaker 1You're the that God, and we honor you here this morning and ask, lord, o God, that you'll work a miracle in our bodies, in the name of Jesus, o God, you were wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon you, lord, and by your stripes, god, we are healed. By your stripes, god, we are healed by your stripes. By your stripes, god, we are healed. In the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you. Lord, holy Spirit, I pray in the name of Jesus, that you'll cover every infirmity under the blood of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, oh Father, wash us, lord, and clean us. God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, cleanse infirmity out of us, cleanse sickness out of us. God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you. Lord, oh Lord. For tumors shrinking, lord, oh God, and tumors, hallelujah, not being able to be found any longer because you have touched and healed, oh God, I thank you, lord, for doing an awesome and great work. Lord, oh God, for touching hearts. Lord, for touching kidneys, lord, oh Father.
Speaker 1There are some that are waiting on a donor list, waiting, father, hallelujah, for another organ because their organ is failing. Oh God, I pray, I pray, lord, oh God, that you'll go in, lord, and that you'll heal the organ. Lord, oh God, even before the donation. God, in the name of Jesus, god, you're able to do it. You're able to do it.
Speaker 1Lord and God, we're asking for the miraculous. Lord, in the name of Jesus, oh, we ask of you, lord, because you said that you could do exceeding abundantly, that you could do exceeding abundantly, above all that we could ask for or think. God, lord, if we can imagine it, Lord, you can do more than that. And Lord, this morning, hallelujah, through the eyes of faith, oh God, we see kidneys, hallelujah, being made whole.
Speaker 1Through the eyes of faith, we see heart issues and other organs that are having issues. We see them being made well again, in the name of Jesus, oh God, we thank you. Oh God, we adore your name. Hallelujah, we thank you. Oh God, we ask that you'll be the solution to the issue, the solution to our problem. In the name of Jesus, jesus, oh God, we believe, lord, that you are a problem solver. And so, lord, hallelujah, we lift our voices to heaven and say help us, lord, help us, lord, help us, lord, in the name of Jesus, name of Jesus, oh God, I'm asking, lord hallelujah, that you'll move on the individual experiencing chronic pain.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, pain medication doesn't even work anymore, doesn't even touch, lord, oh God, the pain that they are feeling in their bodies. Oh God, I pray, I pray that you'll give peace to the body, lord, that you'll soothe, oh God, the pain. In the name of Jesus, oh Father, god, you're able. Oh Father, god, you're able. You, oh Father, god, you're able, and we ask you to do it this morning.
Closing Prayers and Devotional
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, I pray that issues of the mind be healed today. In the name of Jesus, oh God, some of us, oh Lord, have neurological issues that the doctors say are irreversible. Oh God, the doctor says there's no healing for it. Oh God, I thank you, because that's just the type of case, oh Lord, that you take, lord, that a miracle may be wrought in our midst, oh God, I pray, I pray, lord, for neurological issues. I pray, god, that you'll turn it around. In the name of Jesus, I pray, lord, oh God, that you'll heal seizures. Father, in the name of Jesus, oh God, you're able, oh God, you're able, oh God, you're able. And God, we ask for it in the name of Jesus, oh God, we ask, lord, that every issue, lord of the brain, lord, that you'll touch it, father, in the name of Jesus, oh God, in the name of Jesus, lord, brain bleeds, lord, oh God, tumors in the brain, oh God, whatever it may be, oh God, no matter how impossible they say that it is, oh God, we pray that you'll pick up the case, oh God, and that you will heal in the name of Jesus. Oh Father, I thank you today. I thank you for the healing of your people. I thank you, god, for the power in your blood, oh God, I pray, lord, that you'll heal issues of the mind today. Oh God, lord, conditions, oh God, that they say God cannot be healed. Lord, oh God, schizophrenia, lord, oh God, I pray that you'll heal, lord, in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, oh God, bipolar issues, lord, oh God, heal in the name of Jesus, oh God, heal to the utmost, lord, oh God, everything that is going on in the mind, that is disorderly, oh God, we pray that you'll bring order to the mind of your people.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, some are struggling to concentrate. Oh God, some are struggling, lord, with brain fog. Oh God, heal to the utmost. In the name Jesus, oh God, give our minds, lord, to be clear and usable. Lord to you, father, in the name of Jesus. Way, lord, have your way, Lord, touch your people, lord, oh God, deal with issues, lord, that are from the crown of their heads to the soles of their feet, oh God, whatever is going on, whatever is going on, whatever is causing discomfort, oh God, whatever is giving an individual to have a low quality of life. Oh God, I pray that you'll heal.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you. I thank you, Lord, oh God, even as we're walking in our healing Lord, oh God, we're believing, oh God, that if you don't touch right now, that you'll heal us as we go, that you'll heal us as we obey, that you'll heal us, oh God, as we do what it is you've called us to do. Oh God, we thank you this morning as we do what it is you've called us to do. Oh God, we thank you this morning because you never forget about us, oh God, you never forget, lord, oh God, where some may see us smiling, where some may see us still working, oh God, and still going about everyday life, they may forget what we're going through in our bodies, but, god, you never forget. Oh God, you know the situation, oh God, you know it, god, in and out, father and God, I pray, lord, oh God, that you'll attend to the issues of your people.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh Father, I'm asking Lord, oh God, that you'll cover your people under your blood today, oh God, I pray that, in covering them, lord, that not only that you hide them. Oh God of Jesus over your people. God, the blood of Jesus over your people. In the name of Jesus, oh God, I ask today, lord, oh God, for footsteps. Lord, oh God, footsteps that are ordered. Footsteps, lord, oh God, footsteps that are ordered. We thank you that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by God. Oh God, I thank you for our footsteps being sure today.
Speaker 1In the name of Jesus, oh God, I ask this morning, lord, oh God, that you'll give us what to say and when to say it. Father, in the name of Jesus, oh God, I pray for wisdom for your people and I pray discernment. Oh God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, we thank you. Today, I'm asking that you'll bless your people, father, and not allow any to experience lack. Lord, in the name of Jesus, oh God, thank you for being Jehovah Jireh, thank you for being able to provide whatever it is that we need. Oh God, I thank you for providing whatever it is that your people need. In the name of Jesus, we declare this morning that we shall have all that we need. In the name of Jesus, we declare this morning that we are blessed to be a blessing. Sing in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we thank you and we praise your name. Oh God, we exalt your name above the heavens and above the earth. Oh God, we thank you, lord, for this time of prayer and God, we're thanking you, oh God, for healing today, oh God, and for a mindset of healing.
