Have you ever struggled with how to be honest without being hurtful? This powerful prayer session tackles one of Christianity's most challenging practices: speaking truth in love.

Drawing from Ephesians 4:15-16, we explore how truthful, loving communication forms the foundation of spiritual maturity. When we speak the truth wrapped in genuine love, we contribute to building up Christ's body rather than tearing it down. This isn't about softening hard truths—it's about delivering them with the right heart and motivation.

The prayer moves through several dimensions of this principle. We ask for divine courage to stand firm on truth even when it contradicts popular opinion, while simultaneously seeking the grace to speak without condemnation or judgment. We confront the jealousy and comparison that often poison our words, praying instead for security in our unique callings and gifts within the body of Christ.

Particularly powerful is the reminder that speaking like Jesus helps us grow like Jesus. When we study how Christ communicated difficult truths—with authority yet profound compassion—we find our model for mature Christian communication. The prayer also addresses our need for discernment in recognizing authentic leadership and distinguishing God's voice from counterfeits.

If you've been wounded by harsh words delivered in the name of "truth" or if you struggle to speak up when truth needs to be voiced, this prayer session offers healing and guidance. Join us in seeking God's help to communicate in ways that honor Him and build His kingdom. Welcome to Morning Prayer

Speaker 1

Good morning, welcome to Morning Prayer. Today is September 25th, 2025, and our scripture for today is Ephesians, the fourth chapter, verses 15 and 16, in the New International Version of the Bible it reads in the New International Version of the Bible, it reads Instead speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him, who is the head that is Christ. From Him, the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work, amen. And so today we are praying that God will give us grace in our words, that we may speak the truth, but speak it lovingly, amen. And so we're going to go in prayer.

Speaker 1

Father, your name is to be praised and we exalt you. Father, your name is awesome and we thank you. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, lord, we praise you, lord, we praise you, lord, we praise you. Hallelujah, hallelujah, have your way, have your way, have your way, holy Spirit, have your way. Thank you for grace, thank you for guiding us even as we pray. Thank you, holy Spirit. Hallelujah, we thank you for strength this morning. Hallelujah, we thank you for strength. Oh, lord, have your way in this prayer time. In the name of Jesus. Oh Father, we're thanking you. We're thanking you for how patient you are with us, for how good you've been to us. We thank you for the way, lord, that you are mindful of us. Oh God, you take your time with us, god, and we thank you, lord. We thank you for how intentional you are in building us up and in making us who you have designed us to be. Oh God, even in times, oh God, of chastening, lord, you are so mindful, lord, you are so gracious to us. Oh God, I pray today that you'll help us, lord, to share the same type of intentionality when we are speaking with our brothers and sisters.

Speaker 1

In the name of Jesus, oh God, help us, help us to be able, lord, to speak the truth. Give us the courage, lord, to say what is true, oh God, give us the courage, lord, oh God, even if it is against popular opinion, give us to say what is true, to speak it from our mouths. In the name of Jesus, give us the strength to go against the tide when you are calling in a different direction. Oh God, we need your strength, lord, your strength to stand, lord, to stand on your word, to stand on your statutes. God, we need your strength, lord, and I'm praying, lord, strength for every believer this morning, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, hallelujah, as you have given us, lord, oh God, the truth, lord, as you're giving us discernment, leading us into all truth, and we're speaking it from our mouths, oh God, help us to not come from a place of condemnation, help us to not come from a place of judgment, oh God, help us to come, oh God, with the right spirit. Oh God, and lovingly, oh God, and lovingly, lovingly, speak words of correction. Lovingly, lord, speak what the word says about a situation. In the name of Jesus, oh God. You told us, lord, that we must be wise to win souls. Lord, help us, lord, to change our approach where needed.

Prayer for Healing and Strength

Speaker 1

In the name of Jesus, oh God, if we're too harsh, god, soften us out, lord. Oh God, if we're too timid, lord, oh God, give us boldness. Lord, In the name of Jesus, oh God, we need you, we need you. You're the example that's in front of us and we need you, oh God, we need your power, oh God, your power to witness, lord, oh God, your power, lord, hallelujah, to get out there and do what you're calling us to do. Oh God, I thank you this morning for seasoning our words with grace In the name of Jesus, oh God, let us speak wisely, lord, let us not speak rashly, lord, or quickly, lord, oh God, give us to be quick, to listen and slow to speak.

Speaker 1

In the name of Jesus, oh God, help us, lord, oh God, to play our role in the body of Christ. Help us, lord, to do what you've designed us to do, to do. In the name of Jesus, oh God, we bind, oh God, jealousy and comparison. In the name of Jesus, god, I thank you that each one of us is precious in your sight, god, I thank you that each and every one of us is loved by you, is cherished by you, lord. Help us, lord, to be secure, secure in our gifting and secure in our calling, oh God, help us, lord, to accept the assignment that you placed over our lives, oh God, to accept it, father, and to not compare the gifting to that of others.

Speaker 1

But, god, help us to be thankful. Help us to be thankful that we're even being used at all, oh God, even in all of our righteousness, oh God, it is as filthy rags in your holy presence. So, god, we count being used by you as a privilege. We count being used by you, lord, as something that is important. Oh God, I pray, lord, that you can send your Lord to bless your people. Oh, we thank you for the spirit of discernment resting strongly on your people.

Speaker 1

Oh God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, not only do we need to determine what is right and what is wrong, oh God, but we need to understand and discern the voices Of leadership. In this hour and in this day, oh God, we need to discern, lord, oh God, what is sent from you and in this day, oh God, we need to discern, lord, oh God, what is sent from you, lord, and what is sent from the enemy. In the name of Jesus, oh Lord, help us, oh Lord, help us. Holy Spirit, lead us, holy Spirit, if you lead us, we won't fall. Holy Spirit, lead us and we will not fail. In the mighty name of Jesus. Oh, the crown of their heads, god, to the soles of their feet, lord, we declare healing in the name of Jesus, oh God, whatever it may be that they're dealing with in their bodies.

Oh God, my prayer this morning, lord, is that the love of God, the love of God, would shine from your people.

Speaker 1

In the name of Jesus, oh God, I thank you.

Speaker 1

I thank you. I thank you, god, for keeping us, for keeping us, god, for keeping us, god. I thank you, lord, that you send your angels and give them charge over us to keep us in all of our ways. God, thank you for those guardian angels, oh God, thank you for those angels that are fighting, oh God, that are fighting in the heavenlies, that are fighting for us. God, oh God, we thank you, we thank you, god. Oh Lord, you're so good, you're so good, you're so good and you're so great, oh God.

Speaker 1

I'm asking, lord hallelujah, that you'll bless these, your people, one by one and name by name. Lord, I pray that you'll attend to every need on our prayer list, god, whatever it may be. If it be jobs, oh God. If it be food, if it be, oh God, bills needing to be paid, debts needing to be paid off, oh God. If it be prayer for loneliness. God, lord, whatever it may be. I thank you, lord, that we can come to you and that we can find refuge in you. We can come to you, god, and you are the solver and the fixer of every problem. Oh God, we bless you and we praise you. Speaker 1

And as I mentioned before, our prayer today and what we're focusing on today is speaking the truth in love. Hallelujah. Instead seeking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him, who is the head that is Christ. From Him, the whole body, joined and held together in every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love as each part does its work. Hallelujah. Speak the truth in love, not to tear down but to build up. We must speak like Jesus. We grow I'm sorry. When we speak like Jesus, we grow like Jesus, amen. When we speak like Jesus, we grow like Jesus, amen. When we speak like Jesus, we grow like Jesus, Amen. And so we're asking the Lord, we're asking the Lord, we're walking with the Lord and thanking him for giving us the grace to speak the truth, but to speak the truth lovingly, amen. But to speak the truth lovingly, amen.
