Remembering The Source: Wealth, Worship, And Deuteronomy 8:18
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if your paycheck isn’t your provider? We begin with unhurried gratitude and let that posture reshape how we think about stability, money, and maturity. Anchored in Deuteronomy 8:18, we explore the idea that God doesn’t just hand out resources—He gives the power to create wealth: skill, stamina, favor, and opportunities that don’t always fit tidy formulas. That shift moves us from fear and frenzy to steady trust and clear action.
We talk about stability as more than calm feelings. It’s soundness of mind, focus on the assignment, and the strength to finish the work despite distractions. From there, we move to the practical heart of stewardship: learning to save, to give with intention, and to invest in people and purposes that outlast trends. We reflect on the risk of pride when things increase, and why remembrance—of Egypt, wilderness, and countless quiet mercies—keeps our hearts soft and our hands open.
Business owners will find a fresh frame for the grind: partnership with God that brings creativity, character, and courage. We pray for doors that open at the right time, for ethical decisions that honor people, and for ventures that bless households and communities. For anyone worn down by financial setbacks or anxious mindsets, we offer peace rooted in God’s care—if He clothes the fields and feeds the birds, He hasn’t forgotten you. We also challenge listeners to notice the “staff” already in their hands: the skills and strengths God can use to create value and provision.
We close by covering families and commutes with prayer and by reclaiming a simple charge: remember the Source. Every good thing came from God, and that truth keeps us grounded when numbers rise and hopeful when they dip. If this encouraged you, share it with a friend, subscribe for tomorrow’s prayer at 6 a.m. ET, and leave a review with your favorite takeaway so others can find it.

Opening Welcome And Scripture
SPEAKER_00Good morning. Welcome to Morning Prayer. Uh God bless you for being on this morning. Today is December 16th, 2025. And we're still, you know, seeking the Lord for stability this weekend to stabilize us, to make us sturdy. Amen. Our scripture for this morning is Deuteronomy the eighth chapter and the eighteenth verse. But you shall remember with profound respect the Lord your God, for it is he who is giving you the power to make wealth, that he may confirm his covenant, which he swore, solemnly promised to your fathers, as it is this day. Amen. That's the amplified version of this scripture. So we are praying Deuteronomy 8 and 18 this morning. And then uh following, just leave you with a few thoughts that the Lord gave me this morning. Alright, but as we get ready to pray, first of all, we're going to prepare our hearts by worshiping the Lord, by entering into his gates with thanksgiving. And so let's just start by thanking the Lord right where you are. Let's just begin to honor him and thank him. Hallelujah. Father, we thank you. We thank you, Lord. We recognize that there is none like you, and we thank you. Thank you for who you are, God. Thank you for who you are, God. Thank you for all of your glory. Thank you for all of your might. Thank you for all of your power. Thank you for your great compassion. Thank you for your great mercy. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord, for your mighty hand. Thank you, Lord, for your mighty heart. Lord, we thank you. Lord, we thank you. Hallelujah. We thank you, God. We thank you for your great faithfulness. We thank you, Lord. We thank you for how good you've been. We thank you, Lord, for taking us through situation through situation. Oh God, you've taken us through trial after trial. Oh God, we thank you. We thank you. We thank you for keeping us. We thank you for keeping us. We thank you for being our keeper. We thank you for being our sustainer. We thank you, God, that we can run to you for healing. God, we thank you for healing. Ayandakusamado. God, we thank you for your Holy Spirit. God, we thank you, Lord. Thank you for this helper that you've sent us. God, we thank you. Lord, we thank you, Lord. Hallelujah, for being called your sons and daughters. We thank you, Lord. Hallelujah for being called joint heirs with Christ. Lord, we thank you. Lord, we thank you. Ayana Sakosha. Oh God, we thank you, Lord. Even in this season of commemorating the birth of Christ, we thank you. We thank you for sending your son. Thank you for sending your son. Thank you for sending your son. Ayandaraboshiano. God, thank you for Emmanuel. Thank you, God, for God with us. Lord, we thank you. Lord, we thank you and we praise you. Hallelujah. Oh God, we've come into your presence today by giving you thanks, Lord. Oh God, because truly all thanks and all honor is due to your name. Oh God, hallelujah. We realize, Lord, hallelujah, that you kept us all night long. Oh God, you allowed us, oh Lord, to see another day. And for that, God, we thank you. Oh God, for that, God, we respect you. For that, God, we respect the day that you've given us. Oh God, we thank you. And we won't take these hours and these minutes and these moments lightly, Lord. Oh Father, I ask, Lord, hallelujah, Lord, for you to send your strength to your people this morning. In the name of Jesus. Strengthen us to pray, Father. Strengthen us to pray in your will. Holy Spirit, be our guide. In the name of Jesus. Father, we're asking, Lord, hallelujah. We're continuing to pray, God, that you'll establish us, God. We're continuing to pray, God, that you'll allow us to be stable and firm, God, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we're continuing to pray, God, that you'll give us, oh Lord, to have sound minds, God. Oh God, to have a sound mind and to not be as the double-minded man, oh, that is unstable in all of his ways. Oh God, we thank you. We thank you for helping us, Lord, to focus on the things of God, to focus on the task at hand, to focus on the assignment that you've given us. Oh God, we thank you. We thank you that in spite of distractions, we thank you that in spite of things that come to set us back. Oh God, that you allow us, Lord, and strengthen us, Lord. Oh Lord, to complete the assignment. Oh God, we thank you for that. Oh God, I'm praying this morning. I'm praying, God, that you'll even stabilize us in our finances. Oh God. Oh Lord, for some finances are up and down. Oh Lord, for some Lord, hallelujah. Oh God, they've been having a terrible year financially. Some a series of terrible years financially. Oh God, some might be thriving financially. Oh God, but struggle with their mindset regarding the finances. Oh God, I pray, Lord, I pray that you'll help us this morning. I pray that you'll help us in this area. Oh God, you have given us the power to obtain wealth, God. Oh Lord, you give us that, Lord. Oh God, the job doesn't provide the wealth. The inheritance doesn't provide the wealth. Oh God, but Lord, it is you that have sent the channel. It is you, oh God, that has sent the means, oh God. Oh God, it is you that has done that thing. And God, you give us the power, oh God, to obtain it, Father. Oh God, everything that comes into our homes. Oh God, every dollar, oh God. Oh, every bit of income, Lord. It's because of you. Oh God, every bit of provision that comes into our homes. It's because of you. And God, we honor you and we recognize you right now. God, we recognize you as the provision. We recognize you as the one that allows monies to come in. Oh God, we are leaning and depending on you. Oh God, not the job. Oh God, we're leaning and depending on you, not the benefit. But God, we're looking to you as the source. Oh God, as the one that coordinates every blessing. Oh God, you are the one. Hallelujah. Every good and perfect gift comes from above. And God, we thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord. Oh God, I pray this morning. I pray for your people that you'll give us, Lord, to be wise in the management of our finances. Oh God, show us, oh God. Show us how to be savers. Show us, oh God, how to pour money into the kingdom of God. Oh Lord, show us, Lord. Oh God, how our money, how the things that you have given us can go to the benefit of the cause of Christ. Oh Lord, I pray, Lord. Oh God, that you'll give us, Lord. Oh God, not just what we need, God, but Lord, more than enough. Oh God, bless us to be a blessing, Father. Oh God, I pray, Lord, even for those, those that are business owners. Oh God, those that look to you as the source, Lord. Oh God, Lord, I pray. I pray that you'll move on every business owner. I pray, God, that you'll give them this mindset and this mentality, God, that you have given the power. You've given the power and the authority for them to obtain wealth, God. Oh Lord, every business, every business is in partnership with you. Every child of God that runs a business is in partnership with God. Oh Lord, I pray, Lord. Oh God, that shall do mighty things, that shall open doors of opportunity, Lord. Oh God, not just for the business owners. Oh God, but for those, Lord, that need, oh God, additional provision, oh God. Oh God, for those that need, oh God, additional income, Lord. Oh God, I pray, Lord. Oh God, that you'll open up opportunities, God, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, you are able. You are able, Lord, to not just send provision. Oh God, you're not just able to sustain us, God. Oh Lord, but you're able to create an opportunity out of thin air, Lord. Oh God, you're able to give us to run into people. Oh God, and for us to have a look or for us to have a skill that they see on us and they make position for us and they make room for us. Oh God, you're able to do it, God. Oh Lord, I thank you, Lord. I thank you, God. Oh Lord, we are not destitute in our finances. Oh God, we serve a God that owns everything. All the gold belongs to God. All the silver belongs to God. All the finances belong to God. Oh, even the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous. It all belongs to God. Oh Lord, I thank you, Father. Oh God, for giving us, Lord. Oh God, how to position ourselves in a place of humility that you may bless us. How to position ourselves in a place of surrender that you may bless us. How to position ourselves in a place of discipline that you might bless us. Oh God, you know our hearts, Lord. Oh God, and many of us, Lord, are having challenges in our finances because of the position of our hearts. Oh God, you know what we can handle. Oh God, and so in that, Father, there's certain things, Lord, that we ask for, Lord, that you won't allow to be because we're not mature enough for it. But God, our prayer is, Lord, rebuke us and reprove us. Lord, hallelujah, mature us, God, that we may be able to handle the abundance, oh God, that you have waiting for us, God. Oh God, that we might be able to handle, oh God, the responsibility that you have in front of us, Lord. Oh God, with wealth, oh God, their stewardship and responsibility. Oh God, give us, Lord, to stand in a place, Lord, where we can receive from you, God, where we can be rebuked by you, where we can be trained by you, God, to be able to handle, Lord. Oh God, the resources that you're trying to get to us. Oh God, I and that. We thank you, God. We thank you, God, because you're yet working on us. You're yet working on our minds. You're yet working on our hearts, God. Oh God, you're yet working on us. Oh God, every day that you allow us to open our eyes. Oh God, it is proof that you're yet working on us. It is proof that you are not done with us yet. Oh God, I thank you, Lord. I thank you, Lord. Hallelujah. For the mentality of Deuteronomy. Oh God, the eighth chapter, oh God, and the 18th verse, Lord. Oh God, I thank you for giving us that mindset, Lord. Oh God, hallelujah. The world doesn't necessarily hold the finances, but you hold the finances. And God, it is you that gives us the power and the strength and the diligence, God, hallelujah, to obtain and to make wealth, Lord. Oh God, I ask even that you'll help those, Lord. There are some that you bless them with a talent, God. Some people have a talent that you bless them with, and they don't even realize that wealth is in their hands. Wealth is in their skill. Wealth is in this talent that you've given them. Oh God, I pray, Lord, that you'll give them to begin to look and take inventory of what you've already given them, God. Oh God, Hyambo Hoshiah. Oh God, you've made each and every one of us, God. Oh God, unique, Lord. Oh Lord, and there are some strengths that some have that others do not have. Oh God, I pray, I pray that you'll help those to see, Lord, where their provision is right in their hands. Oh God, where their provision is right in their mouth, where their provision is right in their skill. Oh God, give them to see it, Lord. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, you told Moses to look at the staff that was in his hand. Look at that rod that's in your hand. And through that rod, Lord, you worked miracles. Oh God, through that rod, Lord, you cause it to be a symbol, oh God, of deliverance, oh God. You cause it to be a symbol of your presence. Oh God, I'm the boku shakamandio. God, I pray that you'll give us to look at what you have blessed our hands to do, Father. Oh God, I pray, Lord. I pray for every child of God that is frustrated in their finances. God, I pray, I pray, Lord, that you'll give them, oh God, to be at peace with the fact that you are in control. Oh God, give them peace to know that you provide, Lord. You provide for the birds of the air and you clothe the lilies and the flowers in the field. Oh God, you provide, Lord, for those little squirrels that we see running around, God. Oh God, you provide, Lord. You provide for the nature that is all around us, Lord. Oh God, they don't punch a clock anywhere, but God, you provide. Oh Lord, and just as you provide for them, you will provide for us. Oh God, help us to put our trust in you. Help us to lay our trust in you. Oh God, I thank you, Lord. I thank you, Lord. Hallelujah. For not only giving us to trust you in our finances, for not only maturing us to receive, God, but Lord, I thank you, Lord. I thank you for giving us a heart and a mind that is rooted and grounded in you. Oh God. Oh Lord, we don't want to obtain the wealth and to backslide. Oh God, we don't want to obtain the wealth and forget about you. God, we don't want to obtain the health and forget about the God that gave it to us. Oh God, we don't want to obtain anything that will cause us to miss heaven. Oh God, I thank you, Lord. Oh God, for these roots that we've been praying for this week. These deep roots, oh God, give us to be deeply rooted, deeply grounded in you, God, deeply rooted and deeply grounded in you. Oh God, so that when the wind of life blows, oh God, when the waters and the floods raise, God, oh Lord, that we will be able to stand, God, and to stand true and to stand firm and to still stand with conviction that you are the Lord of our lives, the provider that has given us all things. Oh God, you are our God. Lord, help us, Lord. Ayanda Bukushata, help us, God, to remain stable, oh God, and true and firmly planted. Oh God, I pray this morning, Holy Spirit, that you'll go with us to our different destinations, the different places that we have to go to. I pray that you'll keep cars on the road, keep transportation safe in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. Our children, we cover them with the blood of Jesus. We come against every pedophile, we come against every stray bullet, every stray knife, every individual that doesn't mean them any good, every bully, we come against them right now in the name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus prevail over our offspring, prevail over our lineage in the name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus prevail over us and over our households. God cover us under your blood and keep us in your care. Oh God, we ask these things in Jesus' name. Thank God and amen. Hallelujah. We thank the Lord this morning. Hallelujah. I am super excited about what God is doing this week. I believe that when God begins to talk to us about being firmly planted, when He begins to talk to us about stability and being rooted, that God is preparing to grow us. He's preparing to give us more. Amen. And so I thank God for where He has us this week. Um, I'm not going to read a devotional to you, but I am going to read you a couple of verses of Deuteronomy. 8, because that is where I am led this morning. So, Deuteronomy 8, we're going to read out of the Amplified Bible. And verse 11 says, Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by failing to keep his commandments and his judgments and his precepts and his statutes, which I am commanding you today. Otherwise, when you have eaten and are satisfied and have built good houses and lived in them, and when your herds and your flocks multiply and your silver and gold multiply and all that you have increases, then your heart will become lifted up by conceit and arrogance, and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt out of the house of slavery. And then we'll jump down to verse 18. But you shall remember with profound respect the Lord your God, for it is he who is giving you power to make wealth, that he may confirm his covenant, which he swore, solemnly promised, to your fathers, as it is this day. Amen. And so here we have Moses. We have him charging, hallelujah, the people of Israel. It's like God is saying to them, I am going to bless you. I am going to do everything that I have promised you that I will do. And once we think about the blessings of God and all that He has promised us, there are many great things that God has promised us, many great blessings and benefits to what God is offering us. However, the danger and the risk here is becoming prideful. Forgetting how we obtained what we obtained. You know, it's not your degree that did it. It's not the high-paying job that did it. It's not uh the family that you grew up in. It's not those things because had it not been for God, those things would not exist as they are. Amen. Had God withheld breath, had you been born to a different family, had you had a professor or two that didn't like you, different things that come and cause there to be these uh possibilities of us failing, but God allows us to succeed. Amen. And so in that we have to always remember and place God at the forefront of every accomplishment. Every accomplishment belongs to God, every good thing that I do belongs to God. Every good thing that I do is because of God. Everything that happened to me that was good. God did it. Amen. And so God is charging us to remember, to remember our Egypt, to remember our wilderness, to remember that He has brought us a mighty long way, so that when we are blessed, when He blesses us, when He opens up heaven and pours out the blessing, that we won't get rid, we won't rise up in pride and self-conceit, but will give God all of the glory. Amen. And so that is what the Lord is speaking to my heart this morning that I'm sharing with you. And I pray that it blesses you. We thank the Lord this morning for Elder JC Suttles, thank God for him, thank God for Dr. Suttles, thank God for our podcast listeners and our prayer warriors that join in on the phone call. We thank the Lord for Pastor Mark Bayman Jr., the founder and the visionary of Healing Word Ministries, and we thank God for the Healing Word family. All right, and so your target verse for today, the thing to remember and to recall to your mind is Deuteronomy 8 and 18. Remember where that money's coming from. Remember where that provision is coming from. It's coming from God. God has caused that resource to get to you. Amen. And so we'll return tomorrow if the Lord is willing. Uh and we'll be here at 6 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. God bless you. Have a beautiful day.
