When fear frays the edges of your day, what do you boast in? We open with Psalm 34:2 and invite you into a prayerful journey that retrains the mouth and renews the mind. Through moments of worship, confession, and scripture, we explore how to quiet anxious loops, speak life with intention, and let praise steady a loosening soul.

We get practical about mindset shifts using Romans 12:2 and Philippians 4:8 as daily filters for mental noise, and we talk candidly about the inner critic that exhausts our focus. You’ll hear a clear framework for taking thoughts captive, recognizing stress and shame before they spiral, and choosing words that heal rather than wound. We slow the pace with James 1:19, asking for the grace to listen first, speak later, and let silence be a tool when it protects peace. Then we root our confession in faith, drawing from Mark 11:23 to align speech with what we trust God to do, not what fear insists will happen.

Anchoring the conversation is a simple, resilient practice: boasting in the Lord. Not in status, success, or survival tactics, but in the God who holds us steady when systems fail and headlines shift. From the Solid Rock hymn to day-to-day choices at home and work, we show how praise recenters the heart and how words either reinforce fear or usher in hope. If you’re ready to guard your tongue, renew your thoughts, and let your inner life match your confession, this one will meet you right where you are.

If this encouraged you, share it with a friend, subscribe for more prayer-filled guidance, and leave a review to help others find their footing in faith.

Good morning. Welcome to morning prayer. Today is January 6th, 2026. We're here this morning and we're thankful to God for allowing us another day. Amen. Today our scripture is we're still in Psalm 34, but we're going to the second verse now. And it says, My soul shall make her boast in the Lord. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord. And so today what we're talking about, today, what we're praying about today, is that God will give us to have some control over our mouths and the things that we say. Amen. Um, our words they can cut or they can build, our words can bring life or they can also curse. So we thank the Lord for the power that He's given us in our tongues. So we're asking God to help us to manage and to have control over the things that we say. Amen. And so let's go before the throne of grace today. Hallelujah. Hallelujah, Lord, you're exalted. Lord, your name is glorified. Hallelujah, Lord, your name is magnified. Hallelujah, your name is greater than all other names. Hallelujah, your name brings healing and deliverance. Your name brings peace. Your name, hallelujah, is like no other name under heaven. Oh God, your name is like no other name in the heavens. Oh God, I thank you for the power in your name. I thank you for who you are. Thank you for your authority. Thank you for being God. Thank you for being our God. Lord, we exalt your name. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Lord, we honor you and we honor your presence. We honor your presence, God. We honor your presence, God. We're honored that you're here this morning. Oh God, thank you. I thank you that when we call on you, you answer. I thank you that when we call on you, you show up. I thank you that when we call on you, things begin to shift and situations become subject to the power of God. Oh Lord, I call on you this morning. Oh God, let everything within this prayer time and on this prayer line come subject to the authority of Christ this morning. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, every prayer that is prayed, oh God, move by your power, move by your spirit, move by your power. Hallelujah. Move by your spirit. In the name of Jesus. I pray that your presence be tangible here. I pray that your presence be felt here. In the name of Jesus. Ah, God, we're here for you, God. We're here for more of you. We're here to draw closer to you. Oh God, we're here to go further in you. Lord, have your way in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I thank you. And I praise you, Lord, to these that are here this morning. Oh God, even those, hallelujah, that will come in later on the replay. God, I thank you. God, you've ordained them. Oh God, to be here at this time. You've ordained them. Hallelujah. To be a part of this prayer this morning. And I pray. I pray that this prayer touches the areas of their lives that they need it to touch, Lord. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, hallelujah. We remain yielded to you here. And we say, have your way. Oh God. I pray this morning that you'll set us free from every bondage of sin. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, forgive us of sins and iniquities. Oh God, sin binds us, but your blood frees us. I pray that your blood, oh God, would prevail over every sin and every iniquity. Oh God. Lord, we confess our sins to you this morning. Oh God, we confess where we've fallen short to you this morning. And God, I ask, Lord, that you wash us in your blood, oh God. Oh God, take away blood guiltiness in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray. Even now, God, and I thank you, Lord. I thank you for your great salvation. I thank you for your great redemptive powers. And I thank you, God, for setting us in right standing where we can ask anything of you, where we can ask you to do a thing and you'll do it. Oh God, I thank you for that. In the name of Jesus, Father, we come to you, God. Oh Lord, many of us have thoughts that are out of, hallelujah, out of your will, God. Oh God, many of us struggle, God, with our thought life. Oh God, some of us, Lord, are filled with negativity. Oh God, some of us, God, are struggling every day just to make it from one day to the next because we are our worst critic, God. Oh Lord, I pray this morning. Oh God, that you'll begin to change things in our minds, God. Oh God, that you'll begin, Lord. Oh God, to move on the minds of these in the name of Jesus. Oh God, transform our thinking. Oh God, replace patterns of fear. Replace patterns of doubt. Replace patterns of self-criticism. Replace them with your peace, oh God. Replace them with your joy. In the name of Jesus, we declare Romans 12 and 2. Over the minds of these, we declare that we will not be conformed to this world, but we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and a perfect will of God. Oh God, we declare it in the name of Jesus. We speak hallelujah over our minds today. Oh God. Help us to recognize the thoughts that are not from you, God, and to bring them into obedience to your word. Help us to recognize stress thoughts, God. Help us to recognize anxious thinking. Oh God, help us to recognize it, God, to recognize that the enemy is infiltrating our minds. Oh God, we declare 2 Corinthians 10 and 5. We cast down imaginations. Oh God, we cast down every thought, every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God. And we bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. In the name of Jesus. Every thought, every thought we bring into captivity to the obedience of Christ. In the name of Jesus, we are who God says we are. We do what God says we can do. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We are new creatures in Christ Jesus. God, I pray, I pray, Lord, that you'll set a guard over our minds. Oh God, let us meditate on things that are pleasing to you. Let us meditate on things that bring life, oh God. Oh God, according to Philippians 4 and 8, oh God, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, give us to think on those types of things in the name of Jesus. Oh God, if it doesn't qualify, oh God to Philippians 4 and 8, God, give us to shut it down, God, in the name of Jesus, oh God, we reject the condemnation of the enemy, we reject the lies of the enemy, we reject the shame of the enemy. In the name of Jesus, we receive the truth of who we are. In the name of Jesus, we walk in the newness of life, we receive the truth of who we are. According to Romans 8 and 1. Hallelujah. There is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Oh God, give us, Lord, to have a mind like yours. Give us your humility, give us your compassion, give us your wisdom, oh God, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we thank you today. We thank you, God, for setting a guard over our mouths. Oh God, some of us, Lord, we speak things, Lord, that bring death to our situation. Oh God, some of us speak things out of our mouths, God, that bind us to live beneath our privilege, God. Oh God, some of us speak things in frustration, Lord, that have manifested in the spirit. God, we pray that we cut that off today and we take control of our words. We take accountability of our words in the name of Jesus. Oh God, Lord, I pray, Lord, Psalm 141 and 3, God, set a watch over us, oh God. Set a watch before our mouths, God. Oh God, keep the door to our lips, God. Keep the door, God, keep the door to our lips, God. Oh God, give us to not speak foolishly, God, but give us to speak in wisdom, God. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, let our words bring life. Let our words heal. Let our words build. Help our words to not wound or tear down others. Oh God, Lord, we understand, oh God, that Proverbs 8 and 21 says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Oh God, we'll eat the fruit of our words. We eat our words, God. We eat the fruit of our words, God. Help us, oh God, to have words, oh God. Hallelujah. That speak well, oh God. Speak well of what is to come. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, help us to not be so quick to speak, oh God. Slow us down, God. Help us to not be so emotional, God. Help us to react out of wisdom, Father. Oh God, James 1 and 19 tells us. Oh God, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. Oh God, slow us down, God. Oh God, slow us down, Father. Slow us down. Anna Bakushataya, slow us down, God. Give us to not be so reactive, God. But Lord help us, oh God. Oh God, to walk wisely, oh God. To walk in the spirit, oh God. To walk in self-control, oh God. In the name of Jesus. I pray, God, that shall align our speech with our faith, God. In the name of Jesus. Help our speech to match our faith, God. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, you told us that there was power, oh God, in what we say, God. Even in Mark 11 and 23, you let us know that if we tell a mountain to be removed, it will be cast into the sea, God. Oh God, help us, Lord, help us, God, to have our speech aligned to our faith. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, cleanse our minds, cleanse our thoughts. In the name of Jesus. Oh Lord. Oh God. Let our inner thoughts match our outer confession. In the name of Jesus. Help us to be self-aware and spirit-led, God. Oh God, teach us when to speak and when to be quiet, God. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, Ecclesiastes lets us know. Oh God, that there is a time for silence as well as a time to speak, God. Oh God, it lets us know, God, that there's a time where silence is golden, God. Help us, oh God. Help us to have control and to not just try to have the last word. Let us let you fight the battle when it's time for you to fight the battle. Itaba suramando shia in the name of Jesus. Oh God. Most of all, God, this morning we're asking that our words, oh God, glorify you. Oh God, let our words glorify you. That the things that come from our mouth bring you glory. Oh God. Psalm 19 and 14 tells us, oh God, to let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in thy sight. Oh God, you are our strength and our redeemer. Oh God, let our words glorify you. Oh God, let our words, I and the Hushana Mahaya. Let our words bring you glory. Hallelujah. Let our thought life bring you glory. In the name of Jesus, be glorified in us, God. Be glorified. Be glorified in us today. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray, Lord. I pray, God, as we go throughout this day, Lord, that you help us that as situations arise. Oh God, bring us back to this place of prayer. Bring us back to this word. Bring us back to it, oh God. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, help our coming not be in vain. But God, steal this within us. Seal this within us, Father. Hayandasu, ilamando so. Oh God, give us to walk in it, God. In the name of Jesus. Oh Lord, we want to boast on you, God. We don't want to give the devil any glory, oh God. But God, we want our boast to be in you. In the mighty name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray your hand of protection upon these here. Oh God, upon these families represented here. Oh God, I pray, Lord, that your blood prevail over these homes. In the name of Jesus, we renounce lack in the name of Jesus. The Lord is our shepherd. We shall not want. We shall not lack. We shall not beg. We shall be the lender and not the borrower, even according to Deuteronomy 28, 1 through 14. Oh God, I pray. I pray the blessing of obedience upon these your people, God. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, give us to be obedient, God, that we may, hallelujah, have the yield of obedience in the name of Jesus, that we may have what obedience manifests in the lives of the believer. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray that you'll have your way in and through us today. In Jesus' name, thank God and amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Our thought life and the words that we say are so important. Hallelujah. They're important in our spiritual life, but they're important in our day-to-day. And I just thank God for this time of prayer. Hallelujah. Where we address it. Hallelujah. Where we put it under sub under the subjection of the word of God. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Choose your words wisely. Choose them wisely. Hallelujah. And so we're going to go into our devotional time. Hallelujah. This is another excerpt or another piece of the message that was brought forth this Sunday by Pastor Mark. Hallelujah. So what you boast in shapes you. It's called what you boast in saves you. Our scriptures, Psalm 34 and 2, says, My soul shall make her boast in the Lord. Amen. Everyone boasts in something status, success, security, or survival. David redirects boasting away from self-preservation and toward divine preservation. When life feels unstable, boasting in the Lord recenters the soul. Right boasting doesn't deny hardship. It declares who held it, who held you together in it. Right boasting doesn't deny hardship. It declares who held you together in it. When the soul feels loose, praise. Heightens what fear tries to unravel. What you rehearse with your mouth will eventually govern your inner life. Amen. And the prayer here is God, retrain my mouth and my mind. Let my confidence be rooted in you alone. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I love that devotional this morning. It reminds me of the hymn, Hallelujah, the Solid Rock. Hallelujah. The verse says, My hope is built on nothing less but Jesus' blood and righteousness. Hallelujah. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. All other ground is sinking sand. Hallelujah. And if we haven't seen anything else in the last couple of years, we've come to see where governments they fail. Systems fail. Things that we depend on, they fail. Hallelujah. But one thing that never changes, one element that stays the same, is that Christ remains the solid rock and the solid foundation. He changeth not. And we thank God for who he is. And we can boast on him because he is a sure place to boast. He's a sure thing to boast in. Amen. He's a sure thing to boast in. So we thank the Lord that what we boast in shapes us. What we talk about shapes us. And we want what we talk about to be things that glorify God. Amen. So we're moving along. I thank the Lord for the time of prayer. Thank God for the devotional time.
