What if the most important part of prayer happens right after you say amen? We open with a simple confession—a missed alarm and a weary day—and step straight into 2 Chronicles 7:14, letting humility become more than a word. From there, the conversation turns into a living prayer: naming God’s strength, admitting our limits, and asking for direction when the plan we wrote isn’t the plan we need.
We move from worship to surrender, casting down titles and timelines to make room for the Spirit to lead. Along the way, we talk about provision and protection with the candor of people who have seen closed doors and wondered why. Those “no’s” become gifts in hindsight—guardrails that keep us in the center of God’s will. With Psalm language on our lips, we remember the Lord is our shepherd and lack does not define our future. That trust leads us to intercede for healing—minds, blood, joints, skin—and to cover families, homes, and even commutes under the blood of Jesus.
The heartbeat of the episode is a concise devotional: after prayer, stay teachable. It’s easy to pray and rush ahead as if we already know the next step. We choose a different path—listening before moving, watching for God’s small nudges and course-corrections. We also bless the leaders and prayer warriors who keep the fire lit, calling churches back to refuge and a house of prayer. If you need a reset, a word for your morning, or the courage to wait long enough to hear what God says next, you’ll find peace and direction here.

Devotional: After Prayer, Stay Teachable
SPEAKER_00Good morning. Welcome to morning prayer. Today is February 17th, 2026. We are just glad to be here in prayer this morning. Amen. I apologize for yesterday. I was a little under the weather and absolutely forgot to turn my alarm clock on. And so that being said, I went right through and was uh did not make it on yesterday morning. But we're back today. Amen. I prayerfully you all prayed independently and you kept me in prayer on yesterday. Amen. We are helpers one to the other. All right, our scripture for today is I think Chronicles seven through four seven seventh chapter, fourteenth verse. That's the beginning of the chapter. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves. Second Chronicles seven and fourteen Amen. We're gonna go before the Lord this morning. Amen. Seeking the Lord for direction, for strength, for humility. And we're going to go before the throne of grace. Father God, we love you and we praise you. We exalt your name. You are mighty. Hallelujah. You're mighty in this place. You're mighty in our midst. You're mighty in battle. Oh God, you are mighty. Hallelujah. All might belongs to you. All strength, all wisdom, all power, all dominion. Glory to God. It all belongs to you, Lord. Hallelujah. Nothing compares to you. Hallelujah. You are Alpha and Omega. Hallelujah. Oh God, we bless your name. God, you're incredible. God, you are wonderful. God, you are merciful. Glory to God. God, we bless you because you are faithful. Hallelujah. Oh God, we love you today, Lord. We love you today, God. Oh Lord, we worship your mighty name. We worship your awesome name. Oh God, we thank you because you're the God of the valley as well as the God of the mountaintop. God, we thank you. Oh God, whatever season of life we find ourselves in, you remain and you are God in that season. Oh God, we bless your name, Lord. We honor your presence here on the prayer line. And God, we ask that you'll have your way. Oh Lord, have free course of this prayer time. Holy Spirit, take over. Have free course of this prayer line. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, we're humbling ourselves before you today. Oh God, we realize. Oh God, that without you we are nothing. Oh God, we realize. Hallelujah, Lord. Oh God, that you, Lord, hold the keys to eternal life. Oh God, we realize. Oh Lord, that all the power belongs to you, God. Oh Lord, healing belongs to you. Deliverance belongs to you. Oh God, salvation, redemption belongs to you, God. Oh God, all power, all power belongs to you, God. And Lord, hallelujah, we acknowledge who you are in all of your glory. Oh God, we hallelujah, recognize that you are, oh God, omniscient. Oh God, you've been with us. Oh Lord, everywhere that we've gone, everywhere that we've been, oh God, everything that we've done. Oh God, you've been with us, Lord. Oh God, we thank you, Lord. Oh God, we thank you that on our worst day, you were there with us. Oh God, on our triumphant day, you were there with us. God, we thank you. Hallelujah. And we recognize how big you are. Oh God, we recognize how great you are and we humble ourselves before you. Oh, thank you, Lord. You're the beginning and you're the end. Oh God, you're everything in between. God, we humble ourselves. Oh God, even in ourselves, when we begin to think more highly of ourselves than we ought to, oh God, we check that right now. And we humble ourselves in your presence. Oh God, we don't glory in your presence. But God, we give you all the glory. Oh God, we give you all the honor in your presence, oh God. Oh Lord, we cast down our crowns. Oh God, whatever authority that man has placed on us, we cast it down because it doesn't compare to your authority, to your power, to your might. Oh God, we put degrees down. Oh God, and we worship you. Oh God, we are nothing without you. We are nothing without you. Lord, if you withdraw breath from us, oh God, we'd be nothing. Oh God, if you didn't will it so, we would not have woke up this morning. So God, we humble ourselves. Oh Lord. God, we get it twisted sometimes and we worry about how we're gonna make it through the month. We worry about how certain things are going to get done. As if you are not the provider, as if you are not the way maker, as if you don't give us the power to obtain wealth. Oh God, oh Lord, we humble ourselves and we ask, Lord, that you'll take over, Lord. Take over and order our steps. Take over and order our conversations. Take over, oh God, and get all in our plans today, Lord. Oh God, we have in mind how we want the day to go. But God, we humble ourselves and submit our day to you. And we say, Lord, have your way. Have your way on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, if you want us to go left, we'll go left. If you want us to go right, we'll go right. We'll do whatever it is, oh God, that is pleasing unto you. God, we pray that you'll lead us today in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray for every household represented on the line in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I declare and I speak the word of God that the Lord is their shepherd and they shall not want. I speak that the Lord is their shepherd, they shall not lack, they shall not beg. Oh, I thank you, God. The Lord is their shepherd. The Lord is our shepherd, and we shall not want. Oh God, we thank you today that every need is supplied. We thank you that where there has been an emptiness, oh God. Oh Lord, that you are sending. Oh Lord, the answer to the prayer, the solution to the problem. Oh God, we thank you that help is on the way. We thank you, God, hallelujah, that we've never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging for bread. Oh God, come what may, come what may, you take care of your people. Oh God, come what may, no matter what happens, you continue to remember us and to be faithful to us. And for that we tell you, thank you. Oh God, for that we tell you, Lord, that you're awesome. Oh God, even for the new believer, oh God, we testify to the new believer that the Lord has never failed. He's never failed us. He's never failed us. Even on days where things were disappointing. Oh God, we realize that every closed door was a door that you closed to protect us. That every closed door, every time that you said no, oh God, you were keeping us in the center of your will. You were giving us, Lord, what we needed to be doing in that season. So God, we thank you for every door that seems like it was closed or shut in our face. We thank you for every no. Oh God, because the promises of God are yes and amen. We thank you, God, that you have a plan for us, God. Oh God, we thank you, Lord. Oh Lord, that you govern and watch over and keep our lives, Lord. Oh God, I pray this morning. I pray for those that are sick. I pray, God, that you'll heal us in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray, Lord, hallelujah, that colds and flus, oh God, that you'll dry them up in the name of Jesus. Some are dealing with even deeper medical issues. Oh God, I pray that you'll regulate the blood, regulate the mind, regulate the organs, regulate the joints, oh God, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, regulate skin issues, Father. Oh God, regulate in the name of Jesus. Oh God, whatever the issue is, whatever the disease, whatever it is, God, I pray, Lord, and I cover it under the blood of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus regulate our systems in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we cover our homes today. We cover our homes under the blood of Jesus. Oh God, we thank you, Lord. We cover, oh God, our families, our children under the blood of Jesus. Our transportation. We cover it under the blood of Jesus. Oh God. Oh God. We cover, oh God, we cover today in the name of Jesus. Oh God, the hemp said, When I see the blood, I will pass over you. Oh God. Oh Lord, cause death, oh God, and destruction to pass over us, oh God, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, your blood prevail in the name of Jesus. God, we thank you. I thank you for these, your people. I thank you, Lord, for the promises that you've made to each and every one of us. Oh God, I thank you for being a man of your word, for manifesting your power, manifesting your word in the lives of your people. Oh God, giving your word to come to pass, giving your word to come to life right before our eyes in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we thank you. I thank you, God, for every church and every ministry that's represented here. Oh God, I pray, Lord, I pray that you'll strengthen the leaders, oh God. I pray, oh God, that you'll give us to have an ear to heaven in the name of Jesus. Oh God, give us to do what thus saith the Lord, regardless of what everybody else is doing. Give your people, oh God, give your leaders, oh God, to do what thus saith the Lord in the name of Jesus. Oh God, give the church to be the house of refuge in the name of Jesus. Give the church, oh God, to be the house, oh God, of prayer in the name of Jesus. Oh God, I bless you this morning and I praise your name. And God, we ask all of these things in the precious mighty name of Jesus. Thank God and amen. Thank God and amen. Hallelujah. We thank the Lord for prayer this morning. I'm going to read our devotional in your hearing. Our devotional can be found on our Facebook page and on our Instagram page at Healing Words C-O-G-I-C. They are free and they are there Monday through Friday. Amen. Our message today that Pastor Mark preached on Sunday was under prayer time. After prayer time. This devotional is after prayer time, stay teachable. Amen. Second Chronicles 7 and 14 is my people who are called by my name will humble themselves. Amen. The reflection here is that prayer does not end with words, it continues with our posture, the way that we live our lives. God didn't just reassure Solomon, he instructed him. The danger after prayer is assuming we already know what to do next. Humility is not weakness, it's the willingness to say, okay, Lord, instead of, I already know, Lord. When we believe we know everything, we close ourselves off from what God still wants to teach us. And so the reflection question is after I pray, do I listen or do I rush ahead? In our personal prayer time, after you pray, do you listen or do you just get up and rush ahead? And the prayer here in the devotional is God soften our hearts. Help us to remain teachable even after we've prayed. Amen. Amen. So we thank God that's a wonderful devotional. It really does capture some of the essence of the message on this Sunday, which was a wonderful word that was spoken by Pastor Mark Bayman Jr., the pastor, the founder, leader of Healing Word Ministries. We give him a shout out this morning. We thank God for him. You'll hear him later on this week if the Lord is willing, doing Shepherd's Prayer on Friday morning. Amen. We thank the Lord for our prayer warriors. Thank God for our prayer warriors. Amen. Thanking God for Elder JC Suttles. He has been such a rich blessing to this ministry. We thank God for him and the gift of prayer, the anointing, the oil of prayer that is upon his life. Amen. He's walked with God in such a way for so many years that God has left a residue on him and you feel it in his prayer. Amen. So we thank God for him. If the Lord is willing, we'll be hearing from him on tomorrow and on Thursday. Amen. We thank God for our other prayer warrior. Thank God for Dr. Suttles this morning. We bless the Lord and honor the Lord for her. We thank God for each and every one of you that listen to the podcast, that come in and pray with us in the morning. We pray that you're continuing to be blessed and you can interact with us and send your prayer requests to www.healing-word.org. Amen. You can send them on our website or you can leave us a message on our social media pages. Amen. And so I believe I've gotten everyone thanking the Lord for the healing word. Family this morning, love you, love you, love you. We thank God that healing word is a church that honors faith, family, and community. Amen. And we are pushing forward. God is doing great things in our midst. All right. God bless you all. We'll be back tomorrow at 6 a.m. Eastern Standard Time if the Lord delay his coming. Have a fruitful and beautiful day.
