Greatness gets talked about like a spotlight, but Jesus talks about it like a towel and a willing heart. We open Monday Morning Prayer with Matthew 20:26 and let that one line do its work on us: whoever wants to be great must become a servant. That shifts the whole day from chasing position to choosing posture, the inner stance God actually evaluates.

We pray with honesty for forgiveness and cleansing, asking God to purify our hearts, minds, and intentions. Then we get practical about integrity, because faith is not just what we say in public. We ask for strength to live the Christian life when nobody is watching, to let our daily choices, conversations, and private thoughts reflect Christ. We also pray for our lives to become a “walking worship,” a steady witness in ordinary places like grocery stores and workplaces.

For anyone listening and wondering what it takes to be saved, we make room for that moment too: repent, call on the name of the Lord, renounce sin, and choose to follow Jesus Christ crucified and resurrected. From there, we pray for power and anointing to do both daily work and kingdom work, for yokes to be destroyed, chains to break, and passion to rise again so we don’t despise our gifts or drag our feet.

You’ll also hear a short devotional on “Posture Before Position” and why the only way up in the kingdom of God is down. If this prayer strengthens you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review so more people can find morning prayer, servant leadership truth, and encouragement for the week ahead.

Good morning. Welcome to Morning Prayer. Today is Monday, March 16th, 2026. Our scripture for today is Matthew, the twentieth chapter and the twenty-sixth verse. It reads, But whoever would be great among you must be your servant. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant. Amen. And we're going to go before the throne of grace this morning. Father, we thank you, Lord, for another day. We thank you, God, for the beginning of a new work week. We thank you, God, because as we slept, you kept us. We thank you, God, hallelujah, that you continue, Lord, to be a confidant. You continue to be a way out of no way. You continue to be a father to the fatherless. Lord, you continue to be a mother to the motherless. God, we thank you for who you are and for all of your glory. We thank you. We thank you. Hallelujah, that there is none like you and all of the earth. Oh God, we thank you for your great hand of mercy. Lord, you continue, Lord, to go after the lost thief. You continue, Lord, to forgive us, Lord. You continue, Lord, to overlook our faults, Lord, and to accept, oh God, our apology, our repentance. God, we thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord, that you have not cut us off. We thank you, Lord, that you continue to care about your people. You continue to care about your sheep. Oh God, Lord, we thank you for being God. Thank you for being a loving God. Lord, we thank you today. Oh God, we ask this morning, Lord, that you would touch, oh God, in this time of prayer, that you would touch, Lord, in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, have your way in this prayer today. Oh word, our lips, give us what to say. Give us utterance in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, you be the script. In the name of Jesus, give us to pray as we ought to pray. Give us to pray, hallelujah, in the spirit, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we pray, Lord, hallelujah, that you'll give us utterance this morning. In the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. Your anointing be here on this line. In the name of Jesus, destroy yokes, break every feather, break every chain. In the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Break up fallow ground in the name of Jesus. Haya Nabakushaya. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, I pray, Lord. I pray even now that hallelujah, as we present ourselves to you this morning, oh God, that you'll cover us under your blood. Oh Lord, forgive us, oh God, for every sin and for every reproach. Forgive us, oh God, from any ways that were displeasing unto your sight, Father. In the name of Jesus, forgive us, oh God, for anything that we said that was not like you. Forgive us for anything that we have done that was not like you. Oh God, wash us, oh Lord. Wash us, Lord, in the blood of Jesus. Purify our hearts. Purify our hearts. Purify our minds. Purify our intentions. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, give us to be holy in your presence. Oh God, give us to be holy as we're covered under your blood. In the name of Jesus. Oh good Father. We ask this morning, Lord, that you'll help us, oh God, in matters of ego, Lord. In the name of Jesus. Give us the right posture, Father. In the way that we minister, give us the right posture, Lord. In the way that we live our lives. Oh God, give our lives to be a walking worship. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, let our lives reflect that we are the redeemed. Let our lives reflect, hallelujah, our appreciation for redemption, Lord. Let our lives, Lord, be a signing beacon, oh God, to those that are still lost, Lord. Let our lives minister, Father. Let our lives minister, oh Lord, everywhere we go. In the name of Jesus, give our lives, Lord. Hallelujah to shine, oh God. Oh Lord, in the grocery stores. Father, as we go to and from different places. Oh God, when people interact with us, give them to see the Christ in us. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, give us to not just walk this thing, to walk this Christian way in the daylight. Oh God, but give us also to walk it, oh God, even when we're by ourselves, even when no one is looking, even when it seems that we're able to get away with things. Oh God, give us integrity as people of God in the name of Jesus. Oh God, give us, oh Lord, to respect you. Give us to have the fear of God in the name of Jesus. Give us to understand that you are watching everything we do, even when nobody else sees it, oh God. Give us to understand that you even hear. Oh God, the inward conversation within us, oh God. Oh Lord, give us to understand that you hear, oh God. Oh Lord, every text message. Oh God, you hear, oh God, every phone conversation. Oh God, you hear and you know. And God, give our lives to reflect, oh God, that if we wouldn't want you to see it, if we wouldn't want you to hear it, that we ought not to do it, oh God. In the name of Jesus, give us to be real, oh God, all the way to our core. In the name of Jesus, give us to be real, oh God. Oh Lord, to worship you in spirit and in truth, oh God. In the name of Jesus, oh God, oh Lord, give us to be humble, give us to be surrendered and obedient, oh God, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, make us into the vessels, oh Lord, that are needed, oh God. On March 16, 2026, oh God, mold us and make us, oh God. Give us to take this day, oh Lord. Oh Lord, as a serious day, as another day that you have blessed us with. Oh God, give us to not take this Monday as a grain of salt, oh God. But Lord, give us to take the day, oh God, and give us, oh God, to go after, Lord, and to possess everything that you said that we ought to have. Oh God, give us to take the day, oh God, and to do everything that we have strength to do in the strength of God. Oh God, give our hands, oh Lord, to be anointed to do the work today. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, yes, Lord. Oh God, carnal work, oh God. Oh God, but even kingdom work, God. Give our hands to be anointed to do the job. In the name of Jesus. Whatever you called us to, whatever it is you desire out of our lives, oh God, give us the strength and the anointing to do it, oh Lord, in the name of Jesus. Oh God, we thank you. We thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord. Hallelujah. For another day. We thank you for another week. We thank you for another chance. Oh God, someone might be listening this morning. Hallelujah. That is wondering what must I do to be saved? Oh God, I pray, Lord, that you'll save today in the name of Jesus. Oh God, give them to repent of their sins. Give them to call upon the name of the Lord. Oh yes, God, you can meet them right where they are, God. Give them to call upon the name of the Lord. Give them to renounce all the ways of sin. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, give them to decide and to make a choice to follow Jesus. To follow Jesus and Him crucified and Him resurrected. Oh God, give them to follow you, God. In the name of Jesus. I pray, Lord, that you'll put them in the path, Lord. Oh God of a Bible-believing church. In the name of Jesus, I pray, oh God, that you'll give them, oh God, oh Lord, a spiritual makeover. In the name of Jesus. Make them over, oh God. Oh God, not just a new convert, but God make us over. Make us over again, Lord. In the name of Jesus. Oh God, make us over, Lord. Until we better reflect your image. Make us over, oh God. Until we look more like you, sound more like you. Do more of what you did. In the name of Jesus. God, you said that we do even greater things, oh God. Oh God, greater things than the miracles that we've seen in the Bible. Oh God, give us to be in the right posture for you to be able to endow us with your spirit. In the name of Jesus. Oh Jesus. Oh Jesus. Oh Jesus. Oh, give us power this morning. Power this morning. Power this morning, God. In the name of Jesus. Power to walk right and to talk right and to do right and to live right. Power, oh God, to tread upon serpents and scorpions. Power, oh God, to stomp on the head of our adversary. Power God. Power, God. Ayashataba. Power to lay hands on the sick and they recover. God, give us power. God give us power. Oh God, power to do the work. Power to do the work. Yashaiah oranda kushiana. In the name of Jesus. Give us power, God. Give us power, God, to do the work in the name of Jesus. Give us a passion for the work, God. Give us to not to despise the work, God, but give us a passion for the work, Father. In the name of Jesus. A burning passion, God, to see souls saved. A burning passion, oh God, to do what you've anointed us to do. In the name of Jesus. Give us to not drag our feet. Give us to not despise our gifts. Give us to not covet our neighbors' gifts. But God, give us to be satisfied with what you're doing in our lives, with who you're creating us to be. In the name of Jesus. And give us to run this race, God. Give us to run it, oh God. To run, oh God, as fast as we can, God. To do, Lord, whatever it is you've given us to do, oh God. Lord, we want to hear you say, well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into my joy. Enter into my rest. God, we want to hear you say well done. Oh God. Hallelujah. When we see your face, God, when we see your face, ah, God, when all this trouble is over, when all this life is over, God, we want to hear you say, Well done. Well done. God, give us to live a life that will yield a well done. A well done, my good and faithful servant. Give us to be a servant, oh God, above all else, God. Give us to serve you above all else, God. Ah, yes, God. Yes, God. Humble us, Lord, and give us to serve. Oh, yes, Lord. In the name of Jesus. Father, I pray, I pray your hand of protection today to be upon us and upon our loved ones. We cancel the assignment of the enemy that comes against these this morning. In the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus prevail over us as we go. As we go, the blood of Jesus prevail over each and every one of us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Thank God and Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. We honor the Lord this morning. I thank God. Hallelujah. For his anointing and for his spirit this morning. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We thank you because the anointing destroys the yokes. The power of God destroys the yokes. And we thank God for his power, his presence, and we thank you for yokes being destroyed this morning. We thank you for the enemy being pushed back this morning. Hallelujah. Our devotional today reads Posture before position. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant. Matthew 20 and 26. In the passage, the mother of James and John asked Jesus for special seats of honor for her sons. It's a familiar human instinct. We want position, recognition, and influence. Yet Jesus redirects the conversation entirely. He teaches that greatness in the kingdom is not about status, but about posture. Position is what people see. Posture is what God evaluates. Many people desire the platform, but few cultivate the humility that sustains it. The truth is that God assigns positions only to those whose hearts are aligned with Him. When our posture is right, humbled, surrendered, obedient, God can safely evaluate us. Before God, before asking God for promotion, ask him to refine your posture. Because the only way up in the kingdom of God is down. The only way up in the kingdom of God is down. Meaning the only way up in the kingdom is to be humble. Amen. And so we thank the Lord for that devotional this morning. Hallelujah. There's a lot of meat there. I pray that it blesses you. If you want to go back and grab it for yourself, it will be available on our Facebook page and on our Instagram page at Healing WordC-O-G-I-C. Amen. Feel free to go there and to take a look at it. You can download it. You can have it for yourself. Amen. We honor the Lord this morning. I thank God for all of you that are listening. All of you that are coming for the replay. I thank God for you. I thank God for our prayer warrior, Elder JC Suttles, that is constantly with us, pushing us in prayer, pushing us in prayer, pushing us. We thank God for him. Thank God for Dr. Suttles this morning. Thank God for her support for her prayer. We thank God for her. I thank the Lord for Pastor Mark Damon Jr., who is the pastor and founder of Healing Word Ministries. Amen. I thank God for him and the Healing Word family. At Healing Word, we believe in faith, family, and community. Amen. Those are our pillars. And that is the assignment that God has given us in this time. Amen. And so we're preparing to leave. If you have a prayer request that you want to share with us, www.healing word. I'm sorry, dot healing dashword.org. www.healing dashword.org. That is our website. Amen. God bless you, and we will return tomorrow if the Lord is willing. Have a beautiful day.
