Rolling Dice and Setting the Scene
Speaker 1I started drinking at 6 am and we're here now. I don't know what time it is, but I'm rolling deep.
Speaker 2Welcome back to Rolling Deep. I'm Easton, I'm Alex and I'm Chick. Welcome back, oh, anyway. So we're going to hit this rolling hot dice right.
Speaker 3Yeah, Chuck, you're up first. All right, I'm going to roll a six banger.
Speaker 2Yeah, let's go. I'm going to roll a 12 banger, probably.
Speaker 3Five banger, nice five, wow, one shy, well. Well, that'll get you tuned up before this concert oh yeah um two I don't know.
Speaker 2I feel like that should be a re-roll hit the wire.
Speaker 3Yeah, I don't know about that We'll stick with two for now. Alex One Wow.
Speaker 4We'll do more than one.
Speaker 2I don't know it goes off the table. I feel like it's a re-roll.
Speaker 4I always get it off the table, which?
Speaker 2button is the thing Re-roll.
Speaker 4Keep it on the table Three.
Speaker 2That's a lot better. I like three.
Speaker 4I'll do four. I'll do six. My niece should do three. My niece should do four.
Speaker 3Yeah, exactly Twelve. We'll see how many we get to. I only got four, six, eight, ten, twelve, thirteen, fourteen beers sitting in front of me.
Creepy Bathroom Encounter Story
Speaker 2I think you got them all today. I think you put them all in. So I have a story for you guys. This happened last night. I was at a place called Lumpy's in Dundee, yeah, and you know I was drinking, having a good time hanging out with the lady. You know, just live my best life. I had to go piss. So I went piss and this lady walks in. Well, I didn't know it was a lady at the time, so I was like pissing. I hear someone open the door, I'm like whatever. And then boom, arm kind of around me, kind of catching herself. Lady walks in. She's about 450 pounds.
Speaker 3Ooh, nice defensive tackle yeah.
Speaker 2Like no one's getting through her. And then she looks straight at my wiener, because there's not a divider, it's just like two pisters, and then they're stalled. Looks straight at my wiener. There's not like a divider, it's just like two pistons, and then they're stall. Look straight at my wiener. Looks up at me and goes oh, am I in the men's bathroom? I said yeah, and she goes okay, can you excuse me? And then goes into the shitter and proceeds to start blowing that bitch up.
Speaker 2No, way yeah so I just wash my hands, I'm washing up getting out of there. And then I was like, whatever she's hammered, she barely walked straight, big lady, barely fit through a doorway, honestly. Um but uh. So I got in line to cash out my bill because we were leaving and she walks by me and walks outside, then comes back in, starts talking to the guy in front of me and was like wow, you're really cute. To the guy in front of me, like touching his arm or whatever, and he was like kind of like, leave me alone, basically. And then she comes over to me and she goes you're really cute too. And puts her arm like on my back and then grabs, proceeds to grab my ass, and I don't.
Speaker 2It was like I've never like felt like that, and I understand now more with the ladies when they say someone's being a creep. I've never really had that happen. So that was a a moment in my life where it's like just like, yeah, that that's creepy. Did your ass look good though? I mean like, was it a? Was it valid for her to grab it? I mean, I personally would grab my own ass.
Speaker 3So I mean like loose pants, because usually you're looking pretty good.
Speaker 2But yeah, no, these were tight, tight uh, cargo shorts tight cargo shorts.
Speaker 4Yeah, yeah, so I was looking pretty dialed. I guess the bigger girl's gone I guess.
Heading to Salem for Elle's Concert
Speaker 2I guess, I mean she could probably roll down a hill with pretty successful accuracy, oh my god. Yeah, I think it's pretty valid yeah, anyway, what do you guys got? So we're going to tell them that we're all in Salem Oregon today.
Speaker 3Yeah, we're down here in Salem, Oregon and I'm sure Alex can fill everybody in on what we're doing down here.
Speaker 4Yeah, we're in a hotel room. We got kind of a good setup. Maybe we'll post a flick for the gram and show the setup we're rocking with not the not the usual rolling deep studio, but we are here to support a uh, smaller artist that's for the gram. Bitches love the gram that's on the up and coming and, uh, her name is al win and she's got some good tunes out. Uh, my favorite track buyer right now is War and Peace acoustic version.
Speaker 2A little acoustic action.
Speaker 4Are you going to give them a sample? Yeah, maybe. Sample it up there Play a little bit.
Speaker 3Is it like War and Peace, or In, I think, and I thought War and Peace was like a book.
Speaker 4The Art of War.
Speaker 2Ooh, the Art of War. Oh, by Ice Cube.
Speaker 4Yeah, I like that the Art of War? Oh, the Art of War Is that what you're thinking, oh, by Ice Cube. Yeah, I like that. Nah, I think two different sounds and two different artists.
Speaker 2I didn't know she did an acoustic version of Ice Cube, that's kind of badass. What's her?
Speaker 4We'll cut this, but E-L-L-E.
Speaker 3Oh, that's what her name is.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 3Well, I knew that, elk.
Speaker 4King W-I-N-N. Hmm.
Speaker 3Found it, oh yeah.
Speaker 2So this is the sample, huh.
Speaker 5Yeah, I might be down, but at least I haven't peaked. Some nights I'm strong, some nights I'm weak. I'm going home now, but now I don't weep and I find it amazing how much I put up with.
Acoustic Music Discussion
Speaker 2Are we playing the whole song?
Speaker 5We just want to do a little slice. I like it, are we?
Speaker 4playing the whole song. We just want to do a little, I like it. I'm a big sucker for acoustic stuff.
Speaker 2Well, you know, I haven't really listened to any of it, so I don't want to ruin my surprise for later. You know, yeah, she's got a good strum. Yeah, nice voice.
Speaker 3Yeah, good.
Speaker 4Very on point with the notes, so we'll watch her play tonight and support her.
Speaker 2Drink beer and eat food?
Speaker 4Yeah and just have a good time and rock out.
Speaker 3Jamming Should be pretty exciting. We're going to try to, even if we are a little bit tipsy. We're going to try to hop on for a post-intermission update after the concert, for you guys Can't guarantee that it's going to try to hop on for a post-intermission update after the concert, for you guys Can't guarantee that it's going to be very long, but we might just hop on, say hi.
Speaker 2Oh, it's going to be a great post-intermission. Wouldn't miss it for the world. We're just going to kind of. I'll be rolling so deep I might have to do it on the ground.
Speaker 3Yeah, I don't think you guys would want to listen to us much after, but we might just stop in just so you guys get a taste of what the night was like.
Speaker 2Just a little flavor in your mouth, the hangover might be recreated tonight. I don't want to give you too much. You know, just a little like right on the tip of your tongue you know, dude, what's?
Speaker 3uh, I also enjoy acoustics, but what's your favorite?
Speaker 4Alex Like acoustic song ever yeah Two that come to mind. I mean, I guess would you consider I don't know, Would you consider Wonderwall like an acoustic song?
Speaker 3I don't think so.
Speaker 4Okay, then probably the Everlong acoustic version and or Campfire Tale by Trippie Redd. Those are two songs with some nice guitar, like calm, kind of like songs you'd listen to while you're camping.
Speaker 3Yeah, chuck, what about you?
Speaker 2That's really hard for me. I mean, there's a lot of acoustic songs out there. If you gave me like a genre, I could probably give you a good song out there. I don't know, if you gave me like a genre, I could probably give you a good song.
Speaker 3Now you want to know, and I know you guys have heard this, but I love the City Sessions acoustics that they come out with. Have you ever heard of them, Chuck?
Speaker 2I don't think so. You might as well throw that on there too.
Speaker 3I think this is probably my favorite acoustic that they've ever done. Let's see.
Speaker 2Looking it up, looking it up, looking it up, looking it up, yeah, his palms are sweaty knees weak.
Speaker 6Arms are heavy. There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti I like that on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down. The whole crowd goes so loud. He opens his mouth but the words won't come out.
Speaker 3He's choking but it's lose yourself by eminem. But he does it acoustically and arguably I think like that's a good song in general, right like when Eminem's rapping it, but I think it arguably gets me more hyped when it's acoustic, like that super slow.
Speaker 3I didn't find it until after. I was kind of like done with the whole like playing sports and getting hyped thing. But like, if I would have found that like junior year high school, I feel like it would have been like a song that really like got got me going well and I think the benefit of that song too is like something about acoustics is like easy on the ears, you know oh yeah like it's, like it's not.
Speaker 2So boom, boom, boom or you know just like. I think that's kind of the point too. It's always a lot calmer it's calmer but it's like easier of a listen I will say there's more acoustic songs that give me, like the, the what's it called?
Speaker 3like the shiver on your back, you know yeah, like, it's like whoa you know just like hits you different but they do a lot of them like, uh, don't you worry, child, um the night murder, murder on my mind.
Speaker 4They do an accursed yeah, murder on my mind uh no no, he's got some acoustic boulevard of broken dreams.
Speaker 3They, they do it.
Speaker 3Maybe that's yeah oh my gosh, you butchered that yeah, but I just, I just uh, I love the city sessions. They're probably uh the top of my uh acoustic finds that I've ever found. But there's some songs that I have on my phone that are acoustic versions of songs that I thought were like the actual version like the craziest one that I got is a uh drunk driving. He's like I'm just drunk driving again yeah, is that not the original? I don't know, but I just on the one that I have on my phone. It says acoustic version.
Speaker 3I'm I just thought it was the original, but yeah, I don't.
Help Me Name My Baby
Speaker 4I don't know why, maybe it's just me, but I feel like, uh, all acoustic versions of songs always feel nostalgic, even though if it's like a newer song that just has an acoustic version, I feel like they always end up feeling nostalgic and I think a big part of that too is if it's like an older song that someone may do an acoustic song, it like you remember this song from being like maybe like like the eminem one right.
Speaker 2It's like yeah, I know the song, yeah, I know the song and I remember like one of the first times I listened to it it was like you know. I was like wow, that's like banger, you know. But then you hear like an acoustic version. I was like wow, that like it hits different because it's like it's nostalgic, because you remember listening to song before.
Speaker 3But it's yeah, it's different anyway, we got a couple of questions here that we got emailed to us from uh, brooklyn bright and uh. First one that I think we could probably get get going on is uh, help me, help me name my baby. What names do you got?
Speaker 4and uh, she's having a girl uh, that already knocked off one of my ideas. I was going to say, carlos, like the hangover, yeah, but can't do Carlos.
Speaker 2Well, there's like Carly, you could do.
Speaker 4Carly Carlita.
Speaker 6That's a name, right.
Speaker 4Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 2You just go, carly, that's a what yeah.
Speaker 4I'm going to add Alita.
Speaker 2you know, I don't know I. Yeah, I'm gonna add alita, you know, I don't know I don't know.
Speaker 3Well, yeah everest. You know, I've heard tone say everest, things like edith, edith, oh yeah, yeah, like, uh sounds like a goddess, yeah, or uh, what's that? Cleopatra? Yeah, cleo for short. Instead of chloe it would be cleo what about like cyclone?
Speaker 4yeah or like cyclone yeah, I remember being a kid lumber yeah, I remember being a kid thinking about like badass, like boy names, like oh, dude, and it just sounds like an xbox game where you're like I'm gonna name my child death night 72.
Speaker 3Yeah no, uh shit, I don't know. I've I've been bouncing a lot off her, but uh, none of them seem to really be sticking.
Speaker 4So I can't. I can't say a good one, because I don't want her to take.
Speaker 3I want my own child, sadie sage.
Speaker 2Sage is good, sadie's good yeah, sadie's good I like the. I like the ones that are like uh, uh, what's? What's one that I heard the other day that I was like wow, that's actually a badass, it was a scotty, oh yeah for for a girl yeah yeah, that's.
Speaker 3I thought it was weird for the longest time, like some names just like stick in your head as like boy or girl names. Yeah, I just can't get them out. Scotty's one of them for me. But, it is a cool name. There is a lot of girls named Scotty, but I just can't like separate it in my mind, in your mind.
Speaker 2Yeah, like Lawrence. Yeah, that Like Lawrence. Yeah, that's like always will be a guy name, or you could do like Mabel. Mabel, no what about Maypole.
Speaker 3I feel like that's a very like old time name, she actually does like Maypole, maypole yeah.
Speaker 4Maypole's solid. I feel like I can't say like Maple, I have to force it, but just saying Mabel.
Speaker 3Yeah, I don't know. I mean she's not set and or like strong, like what about like kawasaki, like her, like her uh her son. He was born and they didn't name him until they left the hospital, like two days later really yeah.
Speaker 3So I mean, she's not like she's just trying to find a name that sticks, kind of, and she's like she likes Maple, but three months from now she might not like Maple and it's not really going to be like, oh man, well, we're going to have this baby here soon. Like we need to sit, like she's cool with, just like.
Speaker 2Well, and the other thing too is like sometimes like there's people's people now that will have their kid two or three days later.
Speaker 4It's like you know what this name feels correct for which I didn't know that until I was older that you could wait a few days until after the kid's born to name the child. Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah Well, because even when they're that young, you still kind of get little personality things.
Speaker 3You know, I think that the kid makes the name.
Speaker 4You could name him something atrocious, but yeah yeah, and the weirdest way I feel like I have to see the kid don't name it I don't know there's.
Speaker 2I know someone that named their kid for, and I was thinking Ford.
Speaker 4Yeah, he looks more like a Chevy but then I met the kid. He was a pretty cool kid, he's like a dually yeah.
Speaker 2My kid's name is Ford, middle name F last name, 450.
Speaker 3He looks more like a Peterbilt to me. I'm going to name myself something bad.
Speaker 4I'm going to want to name him like Beretta. Ooh, that would be a good girl name. Yeah, beretta, beretta.
Speaker 2Actually, that's pretty badass. I'm trying to think of other girl names here. I can't Olga, olga.
Speaker 4Yeah, olga, she's going to grow up to be a body Builder. Yeah, body builder competition.
Speaker 3Helga Holga Helga.
Speaker 2Ramira, ramira.
Speaker 4Thug Rose. Thug Rose, yeah, the UFC fighter. Just name her after Thug Rose, or name her after something you love Rosie Daisy, maybe Popeye Flowers, there's all those flowers, something you love, just be like.
Speaker 3Name her, you know.
Speaker 2Yellow blue.
Speaker 6Purple Did you say purple, purple.
Speaker 3Like the left arch of the McDonald's M or something Like the left.
Speaker 2Yeah dude. M's a solid lady name.
Speaker 3Have you you ever? Have you ever seen those? Uh, have have you ever seen those like memes on tiktok that are like, uh, like baseball inspired names for your son and it's like easton homer and then, like the third one's just like donkey piss missile, 600 feet dead center wasn't that like a whole joke where it was like a dad named a kid roses because the mom like roses, a dad the.
Speaker 2They named the kid like snow because the snowflake fell on him, and then it was like then the one kid's like well, why am I named brick? And he was like well, because a brick fell off the building and killed your mom or something. Jesus.
Speaker 3Jesus Mouse. I think, you should name her Bush Light.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, Little Bush.
Speaker 3Yeah, little Bush.
Speaker 2Little Bush.
Speaker 4I'm going to veto that one.
Local Legends: Brad Pinkstaff
Speaker 3What about Twee Dude? So their last name is Bright, and I think they've heard every meme no like meme under the sun. Light, Light's bright, yeah, like my grandma when her Arlo my nephew. When he was born they knew it was a boy and my grandma was trying to get Brooke to name him Barry. Barry, Bright yeah.
Speaker 4Good thing his name wasn't like not so yeah, barry, not so
Speaker 2bright, yeah, more like you know barry bright, and then barry not so bright oh, that kid would be bullied.
Speaker 4that's also the other thing about when naming a child Like how can other kids make fun of my child?
Speaker 2Oh yeah, no one really ever made fun of me for my name.
Speaker 3Like I've always wanted a name. If I ever had a boy, I always wanted to name him Weston.
Speaker 2Weston huh.
Speaker 3Because I'm Easton. Oh, yeah, but then you know, the later and later I get them. Like is he just going to get made fun of for that? Probably. But yeah, I'm always like super worried that my kid's just going to like the whole Gus bus you know he's like in the shower with his wife, and he's like, yeah, and then kids are just going to bully him and piss all over him, and it's like you know what I'm saying he's like, yeah, they'll shove him in a locker and piss all over him, call him gus, but yeah, throw their shit out of him and stuff.
Speaker 3And it's like what dude I? I honestly I don't know how I would handle that one day. Like if my kid was getting like super bullied. It was like as a dad you can't just go like beat the kid's ass obviously.
Speaker 3So it's like I don't yeah, like you would have to go about it in a way that like you'd have to just trust that you would be like, hey, this kid's bullying my son. But you know, like a lot of people do that, and then it's just kind of like is he bullying, is he not, you know? So it's like it's like you know that he is, but like if people are oblivious to it. Like people are oblivious to it so it's like I don't know. Like that would be just like a hard thing to navigate as a parent, I guess.
Speaker 4oh for sure, you just gotta trust your child to make the right decisions, surround themselves with good people, yeah, and like teach them like, yeah, there's some, there's some folks out in the world that don't have your best interest and or gonna try to make your life hell, but you just gotta manage it, and it's how you manage it that matters, which is kind of crazy.
Speaker 3But Good thing I'm not there yet. Good thing I don't have to worry about that until farther down the road. What about, like Emilio? Emilio Bright, isn't it Emilio? Doesn't that mean yellow?
Speaker 2What about? Oh, maybe, maybe, I don't know, that's armarillo, I think what about armarillo? Bright amarillo by morning, yeah, what?
Speaker 4about george straight amarillo right, I would name it after like my favorite band, so I guess red hot chili peppers, brightimp brisket bright. Disturbed bright.
Speaker 2Three days grace bright.
Speaker 4Corn bright.
Speaker 3Dude, you know what's actually really wild.
Speaker 6What.
Speaker 4Is while we're recording this Brooke just responded to our email that we sent back to her Like wow, we've been recording this Her energy's in the air. It was just a heart.
Speaker 3I answered this back to her like three days ago, kind of sent her an email back. Yeah, and while we're recording this right now, she emailed back and said thank you.
Speaker 2Yeah, we'll definitely keep that in mind.
Speaker 4We'll work on these names. Yeah, maybe when we come back we can uh thank them more what about emiston?
Speaker 3the other intriguing question she had for us, which we'll get back to you on the baby, some more baby names. But if you liked any of the ones that we got, we'll finalize these baby names in the next couple episodes and get you one like definitive we'll do a little vote on insta or something, yeah and uh, but um, the other question that she had was pretty intriguing was uh, who do you consider a local legend?
Speaker 2A local legend.
Speaker 3Yeah, like you know, back at home who's like a local legend, I don't know. Honestly, I kind of say Pinkstaff.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, that's good, pinkstaff yeah, brad. Pinkstaff Brad Pinkstaff. Honestly, yeah, that's a good one. That is probably top of the list.
Speaker 3I mean yeah.
Speaker 2Like he had everyone.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2Like parents and children and uncles as a science teacher.
Speaker 4He's always kept the same energy forever.
Speaker 2Yeah, he was trying to retire and they said, nope, yeah, they were just like how about you just work a little bit less?
Speaker 3but he's like, yeah, works good for me. I guess, yeah, well, if you guys think, so yeah, no dude, he was crazy and then, like in school, he would uh have the top romans for us oh yeah, you pay 50 cents and you get a top rom.
Speaker 4It was money, yeah, I remember one time I went up to him and I gave him 10 bucks and I'm like, all right, just remember, I gave you $10. He's like okay, so for like every day for a long time.
Speaker 2For a while, for at least 20 days, yeah.
Speaker 3Dude, it was crazy. I think that he's probably he's probably got to be up there. I I don't know if this is factual or not. I'm going to have to get with him. Maybe we get them on or try to get them on. Get ahold of him. But um he uh, there's this rumor that I would like to ask him if it's true. I've never like asked him, but it kind of came down the pipe cause he coached track and I was in track and we were kind of talking about it or whatever.
Speaker 3They said that the rumor is that in his prime because he runs a lot like he's yeah, all the time oh yeah, he's he's caught people on the trail smoking weed and back in the day, oh yeah he's, and he's been around for quite a few years and he just loves running or biking or you know, just outdoor exercise in general. But running is kind of like top tier. I was told that he ran 40 miles a day in his like prime.
Speaker 3Yeah, I was told something similar to that, like when he was young, he would run like 40 miles a day and which is crazy because obviously he was a teacher I didn't think it was 40, though. I thought it was like 10 maybe it was 10, I heard it was like 10.
Speaker 3He ran 10 miles every single day all I knew is, as I've heard about him coming in, um like because he's ran quite a few marathons and stuff from what I know, but um, he uh like those little 5k like fun run type of things they have, like you know, like whatever, he's not even breaking a sweat. Yeah they said that like of breaking a sweat.
Speaker 4Yeah, they said that like he would like jog into the start line from like somewhere, or you know like a couple of the ones like at the lake.
Speaker 3He had already like ran the lake twice and then kind of like jogged into the start line. You know all warmed up and stuff which I know, that people like people are intense about running do that like, even if they're about to run, you know a 20 mile marathon or something they'll run like five miles before it starts to like get I've just tried to imagine this because there was a point in my life where I'd like run, for you know, a mile or two at the end of my day and I was like trying to get skinny or whatever.
Speaker 2And even though I was running that, I was still getting tired, like like gassed and tired. After the first five minutes of running I was like fuck it. I just want to know how someone could run for like 20 minutes and not look gassed or not out of breath. They could stop, and it's not like they're huffing and puffing, you know.
Speaker 3Yeah, no, it's wild because he does it like which people always say that like to them.
Speaker 3It also is just as painful, but like what I've heard from like really good, like long distance runners is like, as long as you keep your mind focused on something else, it's really not that painful, which I like to me when I was running, kind of doing stuff like that like it works. Like if you see, like really competitive runners, they'll have like a niche or something that they like focus on, that just like forgets that they're tired. Like I know a lot of people like one of the guys that I went to high school with was kind of like a long distance runner and he would run with his fingers like this and he would purposely like flick them up every time he brought his hand up. So that's what he was focused on is when he's like pumping, he'd come up and he just like that was a that wasn't normal that he just focused on like every time he pumped his hands and brought this hand up. It wasn't normal, so he had to more or less just like.
Speaker 2You know what I'm saying well, yeah, I've heard that too and I've heard it's been like meditative and that's like there's a point where, like I kind of got to that where it was kind of meditative, but then I was gas and I and I was like, yeah, no, not a chance, am I going to keep running?
Speaker 3Yeah, it is pretty wild, I don't think.
Speaker 2I, I think like I have a pretty strong mindset when it comes to like not being like super embarrassed to do things and not being like you know what I mean. I've just got a really, really like strong mindset of that stuff. But like I just know myself and like hard things, stuff where it's like stressful on like my body and stuff, it's like my mindset it just can't, like it can't stay in in the groove of things, like as I think about how I'm gassed and I think about how I'm tired, I think about how I want to go, you know, I mean, yeah, but it's like emotionally wise, I think I have a pretty hard mindset where it's like people can make fun of me all they want.
Speaker 2It's like doesn't really affect me yeah but like physical things, definitely like, do really affect me.
Speaker 3So that's the other thing too, and that's why like a good group of friends is like I think it's pretty important, or family or anybody, because like comedians even do that right. I mean they poke fun at stuff that would normally upset people or like whatever, but when you know that they're a comedian, nobody really takes it to heart type of deal. So like even when you're like with a group of friends or whatever, it's kind of like that thing to where it's like I can pick on my brother but you can't, yeah, it's like I can say that he's a dumbass. But as soon as you call him a dumbass it's like hey, what the fuck? Like you don't, you don't know him yeah, what are you?
Speaker 2what are you talking about?
Speaker 3yeah, like type of deal that we're like same thing with like a really close group of friends, like like I can say that you're a dumbass chuck, but like if some random guy in the bar was like, hey, you're a dumbass, you're a dumbass.
Speaker 2I'd be like, oh okay, wait, hold on like what the fuck do you just say, yeah, like it it would it kind of like, sets people off.
The Intermission: Post-Concert Recap
Speaker 3You know, like I, we can all poke fun at each other. I can poke fun at alex, or you know, alex can whatever, and it's like I hope that he doesn't take it at heart knowing that, like we're friends yeah, like you take it at heart or I? I know I don't when I get it from like anybody else, just because it's like you know yeah, you just know you're like it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3But like if someone, if some random person that I don't really talk to, says like the same shit that you guys say all of a sudden, I'm like what?
