Welcome to My Mysterious Book Club, where the tea is hot, the clues are hotter, and Florida retirement communities are way more dangerous than advertised. I’m your host, Dr. Kathy Hendley, and today we’re wrapping up Coming in Hot by Deany Ray—and wow, does this mystery go out with a bang.

We’ve got garden gnomes stuffed with cash, a gun-toting waitress with daddy issues, and a grandmother who breaks down doors like she’s auditioning for a Marvel movie. Piper, our main gal, somehow saves the day (still unclear how), and Edie survives a hostage situation without even needing a nap.

Was it fun? Yes. Was it chaotic? Extremely. Will I be reading book two? …Let’s just say Edie deserves better.
