S2 Episode 36 | Our Journey. In this episode Pastor Leon discusses the importance in leaning on Christ through whatever we face on our journey through life.

Hello and welcome to the Unqualified Podcast with Leon Wilson. That's me. I want to thank you for stopping by. Thank you for your likes and sharing and um subscribing. Thank you for all those who who listen and and drive and and all those kinds of things. Uh the Lord is working through this ministry and touching lives. And um, and I get so much good feedback, and I I sure do appreciate that. And I appreciate the negative feedback too, because man, life's a journey, and you got to take the lows with the highs. And uh, and that's how it is. Sometimes we feel like we're walking up hill and and all those kinds of things. And, you know, I I I talked about it today at church. There was a group called the Shires who are um, they're from South Carolina, but they sing from they sing all over and and travel around, and and that's what they've done for 40 plus years is you know, it is sing and and glorify the Lord. And um, and it's amazing when you hear the ministry through ministry through song and how uh the Lord inspires these people to sing these songs that go right in alignment with everything that um that I've been preaching about and and everything. And it it and the way they put it today, the way they sang, the Lord, you know, showed this to me, that it was all in uh basically telling the story of the journey through life. And it reminded me of when the children of Israel had had left out of Egypt and and Moses was leading them through um the wilderness. And and it it it reminded me also of 2 Timothy chapter 4 when when Paul says I've I've ran my course, you know, I've I've fought the good fight. And uh, and it was like, man, you know, like isn't life a journey? Isn't this really a journey? Isn't it isn't it all like bittersweet and things like that? And she sang this song through it all, and and you probably know the one I'm talking about, but um it talks about through it all. Um I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God. And then uh, but one of the verses was, and if it wasn't um, if I didn't face my problem or problems, how would I know that God would solve them? And uh, you know, and and it got me just man, uh the Lord was just working on me. And uh I was inspired to say some things and and to open up that altar for folks to just, you know, give their burdens to him. Jesus standing there on that hill one day, he said, Come, all ye who are who labor and are heavy laden, um, and I'll give you a right, I'll give you rest. And I'm you know, like we walk around with these burdens and their emotional burdens and their physical burdens and their spiritual burdens and you know, financial burdens and relationship burdens and things like that. And we uh sometimes try to put all that stuff on on other people and and as if it's a problem. And sometimes we lash out because we have a problem, and we're and we're making all these issues, other people's issues, and and we're making our problems other people's problems, and we're we're causing our storm to affect everybody else in their storm when they got stuff going on too. And we at some point finally figure it out. Maybe it's God tapping us on the shoulders and being like, hey, I'm still here, you know, or or us coming to the grip or coming to grips and and coming back to the knowledge that I shouldn't fight this alone. Like I have a God who loves me, who is there to help me, stands ready to help me, and I have not even decided to get him into the conversation. And you know that that's something that that we gotta fix. Like this journey was never meant to be a single person uh journey, and and regardless of you know how you feel, you're not alone if you're saved. If you're not saved, you don't have to be alone. But if you are saved, you're not alone. If you're unsaved, then you you got nobody in your corner, and people against what we're fighting against, we we got no hope. You got zero hope except for in the fact that the Lord can save you. And he wants to. You know, God's God's will is that all flesh should be saved, and you've got to decide to push against that. But if you do, you're a lot brave braver than me, and you're a lot more hard-hearted than me, and you're a lot more uh hard-headed than me. Um, because I choose to trust Jesus. And we should all choose to trust Jesus. Um, we had a great time today, man. Um, and it was just a a time of praise and worship and and you know, but there were still people who needed to use that altar because you may be saved and you may feel like all the most of the time I've got it figured out. All the time I've I know who my you know who my help is, but most of the time I'm trying to do it all myself or whatever, because I don't get God involved in everything. And man, ain't that the problem? Ain't that how we lead ourselves into these issues because we decide we want to just kind of play this single player game and and God's waiting for you to just say, get me involved. Why are you not getting me involved? I love you. Get me involved. And and we don't. And we we try to leave him on the outside of of all of our problems, and and that's a huge issue, man. And we got to fix that. Guys are guys are real bad at it, um, and I know that because I am one, but you know, we find ourselves not asking for help until we're knee deep in problems or even chest deep in problems, and then we're like, I guess I should ask for somebody's help. And then by then, now we've got a a compounded problem when we could have just asked for help right off the bat. And let me tell you this. If you don't learn from moments like that after he helps you out of them, and the next issue comes along, let's say further down the road, since we're talking in the uh from the paradigm that we're on a journey, but you know, you you're you get further down the road and you're like, man, you know, no, I'm gonna try to do this one on my own too. I'm I'm gonna try to do this by myself and just let me do it, God, and you know, and then we make a mess here, and then he's gotta clean that up for us, and and and on and on and on, and you know, and and so on and so forth. And before we realize it, most of our life is gone. And then we finally mature in such a way that we say, No, I'm gonna hold his hand the whole time, no matter what. I'm getting God involved in the conversation ASAP, and you realize how much better life is because you decided to put your hand in the nail-scarred hand that will help and lead and guide you and and facilitate you and um and square you away. But maybe you are sitting on whatever on that other side of the sound, and and you're thinking, man, that's me, but I don't know what to do. I don't know what the next steps are. Well, let me just go ahead and help you real quick. First off, ask God to forgive you for everything you've said, done, and thought that's not like Him. Thank Him for keeping you alive and facilitating and helping you and being there for you this entire time, even though you haven't reached out like you're supposed to. And then give Him every aspect of your life and dedicate it to Him. Lord, I give you my life, I give you everything, thoughts, I give you my words, I give you all my actions, I give you my household, I give you my wife and my children, I give you my vehicles, I give you all my toys, I give you all all of my, I give you my job, I give you everything from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed and everything in between. I give you my uh happiness, I give you my finances, I give you everything. It's all yours, and I give you my problems to do with as you please, lead and guide me in the best way forward, that I would not do a single thing without you and convict me of where I need to change so that my life is a reflection of how good you are, because I certainly don't deserve what you've done already, but I know that I don't deserve the next level that you're gonna take me to. And here's the thing it's not a name it, claim it kind of situation. You know, I know my Bible says you have not because you ask not, but that doesn't mean that whatever those desires are, I'm I'm you know, he's just gonna give me. You know, I I want a green Lamborghini, Lord, green Lamborghini. It doesn't mean that he's gonna give me a green Lamborghini. You know, I want a large pizza at 10 o'clock every night. Uh, you know, I'm not gonna get that either. Shouldn't get that either. But, you know, you also you you're not gonna win the lottery tomorrow and all this other stuff. Maybe what what it all boils down to is that the Lord wants you willing to give everything to him, and regardless of what the rest of that testimony looks like, it's his story, not yours. You are not the main character in this. You are not, God is. I am not the main character in all this, but God is. And the if we get that twisted, we find ourselves in trouble. And it's easy to get that twisted. It's easy to start thinking about yourself in the third person as if you deserve to be seated on some kind of throne. Guess what? That's what the devil did. I will ascend and be like the most high, is what he said. I don't want that. I don't want that for you. I I would love to hear one more testimony or 11 more testimonies about how somebody realized that they were living rooted in vanity and pride and and that the Lord passed by and helped them understand that their life wasn't great. Yeah, you're saved. Oh, awesome. You know, praise God for that. Um, but are you living in accordance with his word and his will for your life? Because if you're not, then it's not too late to fix that. It's not. Will it be tough? Sometimes, yeah. Sometimes it's gonna be tough. I mean, it's gotta be. You got yourself into a mess, somehow painted yourself into a corner. But that doesn't mean your life is over. It simply means that there's some areas in your life to fix. But you can't do all the fixing because you're not meant to do all the fixing. God's got to do the fixing. And trust me, it'll be better with him on that end of the fixing than you. Lord be the fixer, let me be the fixed. And if this uh age and time that we live in had a had a group of people, a a whole generation of people that would just simply turn their lives over to God, what big changes could happen? And it would be something just incredible. And we would get to witness it. In fact, we would have a front row seat, and that would be epic. I mean, that's what I want. I want to see lost and hurting people come to Christ and and then become uh less broken over the amount of time it takes for him to cook up that pri that that uh gift and and and all of that and those that life, you know, but you can't keep going like you're going. We can't keep going like we're going. Get God in a mix. This journey is not over until He calls us home or we die or we die or go up in a rapture, however that works. But and with every day, with every minute that you have left in this life, give it to God. Let the rest of this journey that we're on be us singing through it all, Lord. I've learned to trust in you. I've learned to depend on you through it all. Everything I've learned to depend on you and trust in you. Well, short episode, y'all. I love you. God loves you.
