Speaker 1:

you, thank you. And Ashley has a very unconventional way of running her business. Michelle has a little structure to see the two play out each other. It's really, really fun. I also have Ashley hosting real talk for Metro Techs. How often does that go on? Every other week? Every other week Excellent podcast. If you don't have a chance, just Google it or look up it on Facebook. It's a video component so you can just watch it. And I watch it every other week. It's fantastic. So yeah.

Speaker 1:

Anyone have anything else on the forum. A few more things warrant my love of Cole Hart than matching these two together. So with no further ado.

Speaker 3:

let's come on up. Ashley and Michelle. Thank you, thank you. I mean you can even tell we're kind of different even by our attire. She comes in and I'm like, oh, you look beautiful. And then she's like I thought you were going to wear pink today. I did.

Speaker 1:

I did no.

Speaker 3:

I feel like we're the wicked witch of the East, and here's Glinda, so it's good, I don't know about that. Yeah, there's no wicked no. So what we're going to do if nobody's caught our podcast before? We're actually going to do kind of a quick five-minute play on what we do in the studio and so, like they talked about with Real Talk, I actually do that through a streaming service, so that's a live stream podcast and so that's one way to do it. It can be recorded, you can do it live. Michelle and I host winning women's Wednesday.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yes, you can like and subscribe on Apple or Spotify.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I pay her to do that, but but we do that in the studio. We also have an another amazing Person here that utilizes Studio USA, and that's mr ESA. Flood over there.

Speaker 2:

She does Teresa and and she does one solo. So there's tons of different ways that we can go through this. Hello, ashley. Good morning Michelle. I'm excited to be here today. Are you guys excited? Okay, that's what I wanted to see. All right, let's get the energy up a little bit. I know we have an audience.

Speaker 3:

It's so fun. It is a lot of fun.

Speaker 2:

We usually just have Rick and we have to make him giggle. But we do, we do a really good job.

Speaker 3:

He did it, he did it. We know if we're doing great if we get some giggle from behind the cameras and we love that. Absolutely so. Are you prepared? You are so, therefore, I am prepared.

Speaker 2:

Fair enough, fair enough. This is how it usually goes.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but I love that you're utilizing the remarkable, that you're so jealous that I got a remarkable and I still have not used mine in my backpack, but you use it really well so what do you do?

Speaker 2:

I use it every week. I use it every week. We are going to talk about being real and being authentic. Oh, I love that. That's what we're doing right now. That's what we are doing right now, okay, are you?

Speaker 3:

because you're prepared.

Speaker 2:

I'm prepared. Actually what I did was I walked in and I said are you prepared for this morning? She said yes, great, so am I then.

Speaker 3:

And now here we go. That's how it works. So what is it like doing a podcast online? You know, I think at first it was a little nerve wracking, but I was forced into it because this little thing called COVID happened in 2020.

Speaker 3:

And from the association side, we had to pivot and figure out what we were going to do to still talk to our members, because I don't know about the rest of the world was shut down. But from the real estate side, we had a lit stick of dynamite shoved up our rear end. So the association needed to figure out how we were still going to talk to our members and educate them. And I guess I was maybe the youngest one and I said, well, I guess I'm in and you know. So it was really fun and it's morphed over the past five years I've been doing that into something pretty awesome. In fact, I had Mr James Dwiggins on our last Real Talk a couple of weeks ago and he is one of the most formidable voices in the space talking about the changes in our industry. So pretty cool to go from just like a professional development initiative to having one of the top speakers in the nation on your podcast.

Speaker 2:

The cool thing about the podcast is that you get to be intentional and authentic and purposeful Yep and you get to say whatever you want.

Speaker 3:

I do, and they have not censored me in five years, so I guess I'm doing okay.

Speaker 2:

You know, censor you sometimes onning Women's. It's been a year We've been doing this. A year we have been doing this a year.

Speaker 3:

I try because I know my language is not your love language.

Speaker 1:

I have rules, yes, she has rules.

Speaker 3:

This is why we do so well together. You are also an amazing coach and I am highly uncoachable, so I get the benefit of that.

Speaker 2:

I don't have to go into a structured format, which is why this works so well. It does. It does Because you have no list, you have no remarkable, I mean you have one, but you won't use it.

Speaker 1:

Yes, this is correct.

Speaker 2:

So, but we get to build in support systems and accountability through the podcast. It allows us an opportunity to reach a different audience, which is super cool.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I mean, I think that's the biggest thing is like I don't wanna sit there. And you know, you learn this at 40 years old, all your learning mechanisms right, which I think is hysterical. It's like, oh, I'm an auditory learner and I'm a high DI and taking the disc and all these things, but as a child I was. You know I bet you. Corey over here had the same remarks on his report card Talks too much doesn't sit still distracting others. Today's report card yeah, we're going to put that on Corey's today too. But then you learn as you get older. You're like man, there are a lot of us extras out there in this entrepreneurial space that learn the same way I do. So if I can do something that actually attracts some attention and gets people to learn some different cool things, then this is a format that we get to do that yeah, and we get to lean into our gifts together yes, but you still won't set goals.

Speaker 3:

What's my gift? What's my gift? You're charming and you're fun. I mean, I just put her on the spot. I didn't know what she was going to say, what my gift was. That was not on the list. That was not on the list, so sorry. Yes.

Speaker 2:

But no, that's what makes this work is because we are so different. And I'm going to give you goals and I'm going to give you lists and you're not going to do any of them Correct. Maybe one, maybe one, and then you're going to drive that engine home and that's what's amazing. That is what is amazing. Yeah, it works for us because we have each other on a regular basis.

Speaker 3:

We do have each other, but that's the whole thing that I think people need to understand is align yourself with people that are better than you and have different strengths.

Speaker 2:

Not better different.

Speaker 3:

See, she is the good witch, right? I mean, this is what works. I'm like, certainly you are better at being organized and structured and doing those different things, but you drive the bus and that's what's huge. It's amazing, sometimes through cones, into a brick wall, but I drive it and fast. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, yes, absolutely yes. See, this is what she does. So, in fact, on our thing she was. If you see her face, I was saying something and she's just rolling her eyes going. Is this where we're going with this? Yes, it was, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So that's why it's important, though Ashley has me, yes, and most of you don't yeah, but you could Having a coach is important.

Speaker 3:

Having a coach is very important and finding the right coach that helps you lean into your strengths and that's again like school. And this is where we have the argument. She thinks schools great she's actually getting. Are you getting your PhD right now? I am, oh my gosh, and and then and I'm like I graduated two years early, was in the top of my class and, like schools, gross, get me out of here, let me start making some money. And it's hysterical because both are right it just depends on on what it looks like for you. But she's an amazing coach and, without me knowing it because I often laugh I'm highly unemployable and I'm highly uncoachable, but she like, just nibbles and like, just like crumbs, and drops things into me that improve my life on a daily basis. So I appreciate that.

Speaker 2:

And that's what we do on our podcast. It's the accountability and support that you need, yep, and that is it for Winning Women's Wednesday today.

Speaker 3:

Okay, thank you for joining us live. And now let's go into some framework and a little bit of practicality. We're going to get off these chairs because I look better standing up, so we're going to do that here. I got you, I got you, you got it, I got it, I got it. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Move my little, All right. Hey, we have a. We have a clicker too.

Speaker 3:

We do have a clicker, we do. I'm just making sure we're in presentation mode.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, that could be awkward, yeah, or fun, who knows, here I'll do the clicking you want to click? Okay, awesome, I'm going to do the clicking.

Speaker 3:

Awesome, because that's the other thing too. Michelle didn't even know how to put her microphone on, so like she's a great coach and everything else, but technology. No, no, no, technology, no technology. You can't hear her. Yeah, you got to there, you go.

Speaker 2:

This is what we do.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, just kind of talking to your chin like you're Dick Tracy, so it's fine. Yeah, you're good.

Speaker 2:

Okay, what do we?

Speaker 3:

love most about being podcast hosts. I think that's what it is. I mean, you put it on here. I mean friendship community. We get to do really cool things with really cool people. I didn't know who Corey was a year ago. I didn't meet these people. I knew who Wayne was, because Wayne's just so super cool, but by way of being in the studio with Rick and getting brought in, I didn't know who Michelle was Actually. Here's the tidbit I did know who Michelle was. Rick forced us together yeah, he did force us together and we weren't happy about it. I knew her because we both and she hates when I say this we've been in real estate for more than two decades and she's like shh.

Speaker 2:

I started when I was seven.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but I thought she was a biatch. I did Because I knew of her. I didn't know her, but we were in Ellis County doing a lot of business and I would see her in there and so I was like ugh, because I was on a billboard. She was on a billboard. I'm like anybody else done that on a billboard, you know? I mean that's that whole envy situation. I have a lot of unspoken enemies that have now become friends, which is actually really funny um, that's why you do a podcast no, and now we do a podcast.

Speaker 3:

So Rick brought me in and was like hey, michelle Ozemi's doing this amazing winning women's Wednesday um podcast, we'd love to have you as a guest. And then I just never went away. So it's fantastic. And here we are a year later.

Speaker 2:

But we've built a community and we've grown as friends and connections. And the cool thing is let's get her a hand mic, because she's not dressed appropriately, yes, but from a business perspective, it's allowed us to grow our network and so, as realtors, as lenders, hi, it's a great opportunity for people to hear your voice and for you to reach the people that you need in your network.

Speaker 3:

Well, I think that's the biggest thing, right? I mean, like I want to work, especially right now. Does every deal feel like you're doing 10 at once, yeah, like amen, right, and you're just sitting here, and so you sit there and you go no more. Like, at this time, I want to attract the people that are my avatar and everything else, and so if they're watching my video and they see me being a little sassy or a little bit, maybe unfiltered and doing that and that is not the type of approach they want, I don't want them to call me to work with them. So I'm attracting my natural avatar of person and I think now more than ever, like Justin was talking about, lean into your sphere, lean into your niche and drill down on that, because the units are smaller but the values are going up, and I want to work with people that want to work with me, and this podcast gets to showcase my talents out there and attract those people.

Speaker 2:

So the fun thing is there's all kinds of different formats for hosting and we've kind of done them all we started. Sometimes we do them all in one day, and sometimes we do Sometimes we do so. You've got some different opportunities. You just have to find your rhythm. Now we started with guests. Guests are fun. We liked that, did we, we did.

Speaker 1:

We did, we liked it because we liked hearing different people's stories.

Speaker 3:

No, we liked hearing their stories, but you know what was difficult is, every guest has a different way of approaching their story and talking about their story, and so it was actually. It was kind of shriveling our dynamic and our voice in that capacity because it was just circling around strong women that had a really cool story. So for us, we're also strong women that have really cool stories, and so we realized that maybe we could just do it with the two of us.

Speaker 2:

Well, and sometimes you really do need, if you're going to do the guest format, you've got to screen those guests in advance, because sometimes they're not so dynamic on the air.

Speaker 2:

And that's not any of ours, not any of ours, but and that's where Corey comes into play, helping you on video, cause that's huge. That's huge Cause. Sometimes people just get nervous and they shrink Um. The other style, of course, is the co-hosting, which has been our favorite. That's what we've enjoyed the most and it's the easiest. I just tell her when to show up and she does, usually about five minutes late.

Speaker 3:

I do. And you know what's really funny? I live seven minutes from the studio and she lives 40. I'm probably taking more liberties because I am so close. It's the way it works. Yes, it is, it's the way it works.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and then of course there's the individual format, which the amazing Teresa Flood. She does that and if you haven't downloaded her show, it's incredible the upside and it's so, so good. So that one, I think, is even more challenging, because you just have to be dynamic and creative all the time and it's on you, but she does a great job of that.

Speaker 3:

She does an amazing job. I would probably just have conversations with the voices in my head while I'm doing that. Corey's like laughing. He's like, yeah, that's what I would do too.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so no, it's, it's we always have a co-host, so is it worth it, michelle? Yeah, it's so fun, like it's the favorite part of my week, and sometimes, yeah, I love it, and we go. We've been doing every other week and sometimes it feels like it's a month, like I'm like we get into the studio and I'm like, oh my gosh, it's been so long.

Speaker 3:

Well, because the consistency and the rhythm that we've built on top of that is huge, and I think that's the hard part with people is you have to be committed to it, and if you're only going to do it once a month, make sure you're still doing it once a month. Your audience is going to grow to know what you're giving them, and your audience is going to grow to know what you're giving them, and so we've done a really good job. Now we couldn't do it on our own. If we were trying to makeshift it and being our own crew and our own audio and our own video editing and doing all that stuff, it probably wouldn't work. You need the infrastructure behind it.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely.

Speaker 3:

And that's where partnering with Studio USA has been so absolutely phenomenal, because we get to just lean into our gifts every other week and we don't get in the weeds of the tech world and walk out the door and walk out the sometimes it's hard because the lock is like extra tight.

Speaker 2:

Yes, you can't. There's a weird lock at the studio. Yes, so just be prepared for that when you check it out. Absolutely yeah, but no, it's definitely worth it. It helps you grow your brand, it's fun, it lets you be energetic, it gives you some great opportunities. And something I do want to say and you kind of touched on this anything that you do like that and we talk about this in my coaching you have to be consistent. So, with your social media, with your podcasting, whatever marketing and branding you're doing, when you set up the programs, be prepared to do it for at least a year. You have to be consistent with what you're doing. It's not you're going to not going to walk in, do a couple podcasts and suddenly your business is going to grow by 10 transactions. You've got to be consistent with it.

Speaker 3:

You know, michelle, it's so funny because people sit there and do it and we're like I'm pretty sure our family are the only ones that watch us live.

Speaker 2:

Shout out to Ronnie yeah, that's her dad, yeah.

Speaker 3:

And you're sitting there and doing that, and then you can get really discouraged because you're like, oh, we have like five people watching us live, yeah, and it's like, but but that's not it, it's also. Then.

Speaker 2:

Rick will call us and say like twelve hundred people saw it on YouTube and it's like oh yeah, no, dad kept clicking.

Speaker 3:

Dad kept clicking. Yeah, good job, dad. No, but you know what it also is. I've had people that have come up to me and said I haven't listened to your podcast yet, but I see you guys having so much fun when I'm scrolling through my feed Like you're everywhere I don't know how many times I've heard that you're everywhere and I'm like do you watch it? And they're like no, I'm like cool. I guess just seeing my face over and over again is working. Thanks, mom, for giving me a great face.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and that makes you look like you're the expert in your field, in your area, and that's what people want to see and that's going to help you grow your business. 100% yeah.

Speaker 3:

She looks at me and I'm like, oh, that's when we're clicking, because I didn't review the slides ahead of time, like I was supposed to. We're clicking now. Yes.

Speaker 2:

So just some tips for staying consistent.

Speaker 3:

Every other week. You can tune in and see this Every other week, yeah.

Speaker 2:

My suggestion. I'm a big planner. I know that's shocking, but that's kind of my gifting is strategy and development and for me I sit down on Sunday night and I do all my planning. So when it's podcast week, I play my content, I text the information over to Ashley. She reads it when she walks in the studio on Wednesday.

Speaker 3:

I don't, I don't, I don't read it, she doesn't.

Speaker 2:

Rick reads it. Rick reads it because I send it to him too. Yeah, you're going to do the guest format. You want to send the questions to your guests ahead of time, so you're going to do that on Sunday as well. And then you're going to make sure you align your podcast with your social media programming and Corey's going to touch on that here a little bit later so that it all comes together concisely and beautifully. And then Rick's going to put your podcast together and get it online for you.

Speaker 3:

Well and that's the benefit of using the professional studio is peace of mind. I mean like if you're going to do something and you're going to invest in it, you guys have to think about it. Yes, I know we have our own phones. Yes, I know there's a lot of great apps and software and everything else. Who in here, like me, will download a really cool app and then never use it? Yeah, so you sit there. I mean I've got so many cool ones, like one day I might actually use it, but that's where you sit there and you go okay.

Speaker 3:

Well then, if you're not going to be consistent in that format, find somebody who already has that type of setup for you to bring that consistency to the table. Because if you're like, hey, I'm on fire, I have enough to talk about, I have amazing guests, but I don't want to do the backend infrastructure and infrastructure again, lean into your strengths and know when you're not going to be consistent in one area, then find a resource, find a Corey, find the studio, find another coach, find a Michelle who can actually work through and that, if that's a part of your marketing plan to make more money, and that's what you're going to do in this next quarter, this next year, then find somebody that at least is going to hold you accountable, because I will find I don't want to disappoint her, I'll disappoint myself all day long, but I don't want to disappoint Michelle, and that type of accountability goes so stinking far.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely, absolutely, and think about what you're getting paid an hour and how much better you can perform. If you're doing the things that you're good at and you let the people who are good at doing the other things you need. Let them do those things, you're gonna make more money and you're gonna grow a lot faster.

Speaker 3:

Oh, absolutely, absolutely so, and it's so fun to be in the studio so, look, you can be curious or you can get to work, and so we'd love to be able to help you guys if it's not just to have a conversation, like you don't have to enroll in a program, you don't have to do anything else, like we want to help good people that have good messages get their word out, and so, if you have additional questions, that you just want to shoot us a DM, do you know what a DM is, michelle? I do, okay, got it that. I know I'm just helping, but you know, reach out. I can't take a selfie, but I do know what a dm. Yeah, I know it's great, yeah, but but no, we want to help you launch this confidently and figure out what that looks like, and I'll tell you it's a lot more fun when you get to do it with friends. Absolutely, we'll even show up and and participate with you.

Speaker 3:

If you want to do a dry run and see what that looks like at the studio, um, you know, michelle, I would be your first podcast guest and walk you through it. And because I think that's the hardest part, right, it's like going walking into a new high school cafeteria. You're like where am I going to sit? What am I going to do? Oh my gosh, this is so scary. But six months from now, you find your people and you find your groove and everything's wonderful. Let us do that. Let us help break that barrier of entry for you on the podcasting side too, and you can take your first steps after this by checking out the mobile studio that's here today.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's gonna be really exciting outside. So excited for that. Yes, who's been in there? Has anyone been in there yet? It's so cool, it's so cool.

Speaker 3:

We promise we won't lock you in and it's not a porta potty, we won't, it's not a porta potty.

Speaker 2:

And last but not least, I'm excited to partner with Corey this summer for a 90-day coaching membership. That's going to be super, super fun. If you are interested in that, you can scan the QR codes over here later to get on the wait list, and I cannot wait to help you guys have an incredible summer. And if you're interested in podcasting, let us know. We'd be happy to help you with that too. Perfect.

Speaker 3:

And then, of course, the last thing we've got Pseudo USA East, which is in Plano. We also have a West location in Colleyville that Corey is also a champion of on that side of town. But write down the information, take a picture, do whatever, take a screenshot that I'll never look at again. That's what I do all the time. I've got a ton of those in my phone, but we'd love to be helpful and a part of this journey with you guys, and we really appreciate you being here today. Absolutely, thanks for being here, guys, can I talk on my shoulder somewhere? No, no, okay, I turned you off. Okay, hey, all right.

Speaker 1:

uh, thank you so much and actually, if you haven't, had a chance to just check out what they're doing on Wednesday. It's really, really cool. And then the last person you said it, Ashley, who was speaking last time James Wiggins. James Wiggins, Go watch that real talk with James Wiggins.
