And but first, y'all know if you weren't in New Orleans over the 4th of July weekends, then you definitely miss one of the biggest celebrations of bad culture in the country, the Essence Festival of Culture 2026. Thousands of people traveled to the Big Easy for a weekend packed with music, empowerment, business, fashion, food, and unforgettable moments. By day attendees filled the convention center with inspiring panels, celebrity conversations, shopping and networking opportunities. By night, the Caesars Superdome turned into the hottest concert beam in the nation. Some of the biggest names in music took the stage this year, including Cardi B, Lotto, Brandy, Monica, Patty LaBelle, Kalani, and George Clinton. And Public Enemy. Fans were treated to performances like celebrated multiple generations of music and reminded everyone why Essence Festival continues to be a must-attend event, right? One of the most talked-about moments of the weekend was former First Lady Michelle Obama taking the stage for a powerful conversation with actress and media personality, Kiki Palmer. The discussion focused on leadership, personal growth, and the opponents of community, leaving attendees inspired and motivated. And of course, Essence Festival was about much more than music. Festival Goers explored beauty experiences, wellness, activations, food and wine events, live broadcasts, recordings, author discussions, and a marketplace featuring hundreds of Black owned businesses, it was a truly celebration of Black excellence in every form. Now, the festival also continues to have a major impact on New Orleans, bringing in millions of dollars into the local economy and supporting businesses throughout the city. So whether you came for the concerts, the culture, the conversations, or the community, one thing is for sure. The Essence Festival of Culture 2026 delivered another unforgettable experience. Now, let's move on to today's headlines. Our first story involves Chris Brown. Chris Brown has been ordered to pay nearly $13 million in damages to his former housekeeper after she was severely attacked by one of his dogs back in 2020. A Los Angeles jury ruled in favor of Maria Alberella, who says she was taking out the trash at Brown's California home when she was attacked by Hades, a 200-pound Caucasian shepherd, reportedly kept for security. According to court testimony, Avela suffered devastating injuries that left her permanently disfigured and with lasting mobility issues. Following a two-week trial, Brown and his company, Black Pyramid LLC, were found negligent in order to pay approximately $12.9 million in damages. Now, let's switch gears to something a little bit more fun, right? Alright. It's time to give Molly Cyrus Her Flowers and her Barbie. Fresh off receiving her star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Molly is now getting her very own Barbie doll. Mattel unveiled a collectible this weekend featuring Molly wearing the same edgy Fox leather well false leather outfit from her visual project Something Beautiful. The doll includes a biker-inspired jacket, matching pants, heels, sunglasses, and even capture her signature highlighted brunette style. Collectors, so get those wallets ready. Now, let's drum roll, please. Now the I know yes, which I know if you haven't heard about this wedding this weekend, you've been under a rock. Because Taylor and Travis finally said, I do, in a wedding for the history books. Love was definitely in the air as the global pop star Taylor Swift and her NFL champion Trail Burcollis officially tied the knot in one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year. The couple exchanged vows on July the 3rd at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden, which was transformed into a breathtaking indoor garden for the occasion. Despite the mass of venus, guests described, they described the ceremony as intimate, elegant, and a deeply personal event. The Star-Studied Guest List reportedly included some of the Hollywood's biggest names, while strict no phone policy allowed everyone to enjoy the celebration away from social media. The ceremony was reportedly officiated by actor Annan Sandler and music legend Stevie Nicks delivered a special performance that made the evening the evening even more forgettable. Now, Taylor's stunt was stunning in a custom Christian Dior Couture wedding round, while Travis looked equally sharp in his custom Dior suit. The couple esting heartfelt vows that they written themselves, bringing many of their family's members and friends to tears. After three years together, the wedding marked a beginning of a new chapter of one of the entertainment and sports celebrated power couples. Fans around the world continue to celebrate the newlyweds and eagerly awaiting official wedding photos for more details from unforgettable celebrations. Now, before we stop that, here's a little history lesson about Medicine Square Garden being a you know a backdrop for weddings. Now, back in 1974, Sown married model Kathy Silva during one of his concerts in front of more than 20,000 fans. And in 1982, Maskine Garden hosted a massive celebration where more than 2,000 couples tied the knot at the same doggone time. Talk about making history great. Now, speaking of legends, on Thugs and Harmony are receiving one of the Hollywood's highest honors. The iconic Cleveland Rap Group officially received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July the 8th, which is today. Woo! Or you know, this week. Congratulations is entire is in order to the entire group on an incredible career. Now, do I smell a little pop hip-hop beef brewing between Lupe Fiasco and Kendrick Lamar? Now, this is why I say this. Now, during a recent interview, Lupe Piasco revisited past comments about Kendrick Lamar, explaining that many of his opinions have been taken out of context over the years. Lupe says he he still believes he's one of the best lyricist in hip hop. As always, fans have plenty to say about it online. We'll see if Kendrick responds, or if one, if he would quietly fades away. And finally, Pop Icon. Madonna is giving fans an early taste of her upcoming album Confessions 2. Ahead of the album's official release, Madonna is has teamed up with iHeartRadio and TikTok for an exclusive preview event, giving fans once in a chance lifetime to hear it before it finally drops.
