E158 - SPIRITUAL NIRODHA (SN)

CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT SPIRITUAL NIRODHA (SN)

Nirodha is a Pali term (Sanskrit: nirodha) translated as "cessation," "extinction," "suppression," or "letting go". It is a central concept in spiritual, particularly Buddhist, practices, representing the end of suffering (dukkha) and the ultimate liberation of nibbana.

Key Aspects of Spiritual Nirodha

  • Third Noble Truth: In Buddhism, Nirodha is the third of the Four Noble Truths—the truth of the cessation of suffering, which occurs when craving and attachment are entirely relinquished.
  • Renunciation of Craving: It involves the ending of craving (tanha), aversion, and delusion—the three poisons that cause the cycle of suffering.
  • Stilling of Mental Formations: Nirodha involves calming the conditioned mind—the mental constructions that create stress—leading to the experience of a "blissful" stillness.
  • Nirodha-Samapatti (Attainment of Cessation): A deep meditative state where conscious experience, feeling, and perception completely cease. It is often described as a temporary "turning off" of consciousness that can be accessed by advanced meditators, lasting up to several days.
  • Nirvana (Nibbana): The ultimate, permanent attainment of nirodha, often equated with the end of all conditioning and suffering.
  • Application in Daily Life: While often associated with deep meditation, nirodha is applied in everyday life through mindfulness, allowing practitioners to recognize and let go of craving and clinging as they arise.

SPEAKER_00

Hello everyone, my name is Christopher Liam Rose. I'm an author, mentor, life coach, motivational speaker, evangelist, musician, activist. And in this podcast and audio for the Spiritually Helping Other People podcast, we're going to be talking about a very particular message for the Buddhism religion. And in this podcast and audio, we're going to be talking about spiritual naroda. And I'm going to be explaining a bit about it in the Buddhist tradition. And how spiritual Naroda is one of the third noble truths and how it affects Buddhism and life as a Buddhist. Also in the Spiritually Helping Other People podcast, I've been sharing this podcast to inspire humanity to learn about Jesus Christ, Jehovah, and Buddha. Although I've also been sharing the Spiritually Helping Other People podcast to inspire humanity to learn about faith, spirituality, fate, and religion. And I've also been sharing the Spiritually Helping Other People podcast to inspire humanity to learn about helping other people, giving back and making a difference. Now in this audio podcast, we're going to be talking about spiritual nerve. Now spiritual nerve is one of the third noble truths which states there's an end of suffering. The sensation of craving. So when you have a craving, that normally brings suffering, pain, and adversity because you're attached to something that is very precious to you. That craving brings suffering, pain, and adversity, which happens in everyday life. So when you get attached to family, attached to friends, attached to a spouse, attached to your children, attached to a job or career or business, or anything that leads to attachment and craving, that brings suffering, pain, and adversity. So spiritual nerve is one of the spiritual practices, and um it's very important to learn. And also with spiritual nerves, if we find a way to not attach ourselves to what we desire, we just live our lives peacefully, lovingly, kind, and patient and passionate, then we're able to transcend the spiritual neuroder. And it's the third noble truth in Buddhism, which is very important. It's also important as well, if we want to overcome suffering, pain, and adversity, we must understand ourselves as a human being. So we must go through a spiritual change, which is the six spiritual practices: prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walk in, jail, and then silence. When we do the six spiritual practices, and then we do the seven levels of helping other people, level one, volunteering, the good level and helping other people, level two, jobs, careers, employment, the great level and helping other people, level three, business entrepreneurship, the highest level in helping other people, level four, faith and spiritual, the spiritual levels and helping other people, level five, um spiritually helping other people who help other people, the teaching levels and helping other people, level six, spiritually helping other people to spiritually change the spiritual change levels and helping other people, and then level seven, spiritually helping other people and spiritual truth, the spiritual enlightenment levels and helping other people. This is the way we can transcend spiritual nirvana, and in life, all human beings have a craving to something. So once we annihilate the cravings that we have in our lives and our certain desires that we have for our lives, then we can find the ending of suffering, pain, and adversity. But we have to go for a spiritual change within the psyche and psychological mind, which is by doing the six spiritual practices and the seven levels of helping other people. And also in Buddhism, spiritual nirvana also helps you to find spiritual enlightenment. So once we understand that it's like our greed, our craving, our delusions, and our attachments that leads to suffering, pain, and adversity, then we can find ways to transcend it and overcome it. And to overcome suffering, pain, and adversity, you need to transcend the self to the no-self, which is the spiritual transformation in life. Now, in the Buddhist tradition, suffering, pain, and adversity comes from the self. It normally comes from your delusions, your cravings, and the things that you are attached to. So to overcome that, we need to transcend it to the no-self. And the no-self is selflessness and know thyself. When you know thyself, you know yourself as a human being, your mistakes, your failures, your flaws, your characteristics and personality. So it's so important to go on that spiritual journey and that spiritual change. Now, spiritual novolia is the third spiritual noble truth in the Buddhist tradition. And we need to detach from our cravings and detach from the things that are going to make us actually have suffering, pain, and adversity. So it's so important that we try to live faithfully, spiritually, and truthful, and we end suffering, pain, and adversity by stopping the attachments, stopping the cravings, and stopping the sensations that leads to suffering, pain, and adversity. And that's when we find nirvana in heaven on earth. So it is possible. It does take time to transcend the spiritual suffering, pain, and adversity, but it can be done. And spiritual nirvana is part of that journey to get you to spiritual enlightenment. When you're spiritually enlightened, your whole life changes and you become awakened and liberated and free as a human being, which is what Jehovah Jesus Christ Buddha wants us to go through as human beings. So I hope this has helped. Remember, spiritual nirvana is the third noble truth, the sensations to craving and attachment. So we must overcome that by going through a spiritual change of the six spiritual practices prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, gentle, and silence, and seven levels of helping other people. Thank you for listening. Take care now. Bye bye. Hope this has helped.
