Cozy Coven Chats: A Witch’s Journey Back to Simplicity
Reignite Creativity With Imbolc And a Leo Full Moon
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We welcome Imbolc alongside a full moon in Leo and explore how to turn that fire into a creative practice you can actually keep. Brigid is our guide as we map small, human-scale rituals that pull us out of anxiety and into flow. Think red candles, Celtic songs, and a promise to make one small creative thing a day.
We share the joy of private art: coloring between tasks, writing winter poems that feel like prayers, arranging flowers, or building a playlist that moves your heart a few beats closer to brave. An oracle pull lands on Gift with the message precious offering, and we ask what that means for this week: perhaps your offering is time, listening, or the courage to express what’s been sitting in your chest. Along the way, we shout out beloved round-card decks, the publishers who support this work, and the poet Joy Harjo, whose voice invites us to blur the line between poem and prayer.
With Uranus stationing direct in Taurus, we talk breakthroughs—the kind that arrive when you’re washing dishes or shading a rose petal. We make a case for creative breaks as a steady path to better ideas and better moods, and we close with three prompts: what lights your fire now, what precious offering can you give, and what wants to be expressed while the Leo moon shines. If you’re ready to reignite your spark and let your heart lead the way, press play, bring a candle, and join us by the warm edge of the year.
If this spoke to you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a spark, and leave a quick review to help others find the circle.

SPEAKER_00Hey witches. Happy in bulk or candle mass. And also happy full moon and Leo. This is Cozy Coven Chats. I'm your host, Jenny C. Bell, and I have a special guest here. I'm gonna see if he'll say hi. Mikey, will you say hi? Oh Mikey, are you feeling shy? So my black cat Mikey is usually a talker, but not today. But we have a whole year to get him to talk, so I think I think I'll succeed. Um he is like, I don't know. I've had a lot of cats in my life. Um I haven't had a black cat since I was a little girl, and he is just so talkative and lovey and nosy and obsessive and intelligent. He's everything I could ask for in a cat and more. Absolutely adore him. Um it's like the running joke in the family that I am obsessed. I have like my phone case is a black cat, my candle case is a black cat. Um, I just said I had to have all his merch. Like he's perfect. Uh love him. So anyway, happy Candle Mass, happy in bulk, happy Saint Bridget's Day or Goddess Bridget uh day if you celebrate. In bulk. You know, it was these cross-quarter holidays, um don't get a lot of love, except for Sawin. I think it's the Halloween, but uh, you know, there's like a lot of information about Yule and Sawin and the bigger ones, but in bulk, it's a good time. So I hope you take some time today or this week to celebrate in some way, even if it's small, lighting a red candle or listening to a playlist. There's lots of good songs that are in bulk because a lot of it's Celtic. I love Celtic music. Um, in fact, it was one of my top five, and my spot and I wrapped was Celtic music. And Spotify said something about me being like weird, but they said it in a nice way. Like, no one has tastes like you. Okay. Um, so uh yeah, we have full moon. I love when holidays, Sabbaths on the witch's wheel line up with moons. So it being a full moon in Leo, also being in bulk, just feels like it's asking, it's begging for us to do a spell or ritual to ignite our passion for creativity. Like it's just saying that to me. You know, Leos are creativity, they're self-expression, they're just, you know, when it's Leo season, you want to get your hair done, you want to shine a little brighter. And then in bulk is this return of the sun and beginning of spring and fire, and Bridget is so connected with like creativity and passion. I just feel like if you want to, if you're looking for something to do today, light a candle and ask for Bridget to light up your creativity. Ask her to guide you. Trust me. She's helping me, she's helped me write books. Like she's really good at igniting that passion, helping you find your creativity, find your creative voice. And even if you don't consider yourself an artist, right? Like I've said before, we can be creative in anything we do and everything we do. That's my focus for the year, is to be creative in everything I do and to find creative joy every day. And like I talked about before, there's no room for your brain to be anxious if you're in a creative mode, so or in a creative flow. So yeah, you have nothing to lose. Light that candle and invite creativity into your life for this season and just see where it takes you. You know, do that and maybe commit to one creative thing a day. Could be really simple, like collaging online, right? Could be um creating a playlist. Like it doesn't have to be like having any kind of quote artistic skill, right? But it could also be that. It could be like you're gonna color, you're gonna get a book on watercolor, and you're gonna learn how to watercolor, or you're gonna write poetry, you know? And you don't have to show anybody. That's the thing. You don't have to turn into a side hustle or a job, and you don't have to show anybody. It could just be for you. I write uh write most of my my fav all my favorite poetry is written in the winter. Like all my favorite pieces I've ever written. Um, some I've shared, some I haven't. I have a self-published poetry book called In the Cave of My Heart, and most of that was written in the winter. Um, if you're looking for a poem, a poet to read in the winter, because I think poetry is so nice around this time, especially because Bridget is connected with bards or poets. Um, Joy Hardjo is my all-time favorite poet. And remember, I was a literature major, so I've studied poetry. Like I my opinion has weight, is what I'm trying to say to you. Um and Joy Harjo is amazing, life-changing. I think a good book to start with is she had some horses. Um, and there's some really good songs that she's created based off of that book in particular. Nothing like her. Love her. I've had literally every single book. I have her memoirs and I have her poetry. I have even have her children's books. Like, I think that she is amazing. And one of the best experiences of my life during COVID was there was this big read connection when her one of her books had just come out, and there was a big zoom, and she spoke about poetry and read to us and got to ask questions, and someone, the moderator, picked my question, and my question was, is there a difference between poetry and prayer? And she laughed, and I thought that was a really good sign, and such a beautiful laugh, and she basically said that depends on who you ask, but if you ask her, no, there isn't. And that was all I needed to hear for me to self-publish my poetry book because I was just like I needed to hear that because my book, my poems were mostly like prayers, and so I just needed to hear that. Um, so yeah, reignite that creativity. Leo season, Leo full moon meets in bulk energy. By the time Leo season rolls around in late July, August, maybe that creativity will have taken you somewhere special. Food for thought. Okay, so this month I picked a new Oracle deck. Um, I got a really nice surprise. So I've been working, I work with if you don't know this, I work with different publishers. Um, K House, Wiser, Red Wheel Wiser, um US Games, and a few others here and there. And they send me books or card decks, and then I review them and I'll put them on TikTok, Instagram, talk about them, and it's something I started a couple years ago. It was actually Pip from Hay House that got me started, and they were just so nice to me, even though I had very, in my opinion, very small following. They were like, no, you seem sincere, and I like when people have a smaller following because they know you're gonna really try, and you know, just they were so encouraging, and so they got me started on this path. And so I've got the courage to ask US Games, who, if you don't know, is the publisher of the Rider Wait tarot and many other Oracle and Tarot cards, like the tea leaf one, which I love, a whole bunch of good ones. And they surprised me uh at US Games and sent me like a little um Yule Christmas gift package in December. And it was all cards I had commented on, but didn't actually like email and ask for. So I thought that was really kind. And so in that was the Arcana Folio or Arcana Folia Oracle deck, which is a beautiful round deck. Um that's the one I'll be using. But they also sent me in a tin, which I've been really liking. Um, let me find it. The Whimsical Witch Tarot by Helene Lesbing. Lesbingard. I really botched people's last names, and I'm sorry. And then they also sent me The Enchanted Wheel Oracle, um, written by Alison De Nicola, an artwork by Sabina Espinet. Um, and so if you want to see more about the Arcana Folia Oracle deck, I have it up already on my uh TikTok and Instagram. It's by Nora Pascaleva. Anyway, the round cards, which I don't know what my obsession is with round cards. I think I actually do know where it began though. At some point, we had a deck of playing cards from Tropicana when I was a little girl. I also had the Tropicana radio that was an orange and the straw was an antenna, but I had these cards that were oranges, so they were round and they were playing cards, and I used to play I had grandparents, so we used to play like poker, blackjack, rummy, um, and I loved that they were round because I just love when things are unexpected. And so I only have a very few amount of round card decks. I have the um tea leaf oracle, which is amazing, 200 cards and amazing. I have the motherpiece tarot, I have an Atlanta Fairchild, um, some Andala and Affirmation deck. And then I have this one, um, the Arcana folia. And so for February 1st, in bulk and full moon and Leo, we got number 47 gift, and it's this beautiful picture of a rose. Like one is bloomed, and the other two are three are buds, and then it says precious offering. So think about the word gift, think about precious offering, and think about rose. And I think they all connect with what I was just talking about because I often see our heart chakras as roses, and when they're open, it's like a big bud. And we do I have a whole meditation on YouTube about that, about like how to do a breathing exercise to open up your heart chakra and using that visualization. And so, what's our most precious offering? Our heart, our passion, our creativity. So I think it all goes back to really stepping into our creativity at this time. Um, but it can totally open to interpretation. So, whatever you think about when I say gift or precious offering makes me feel that some of us will receive gifts this week and others will be giving gifts this week. And it may be gift of time or gift uh, you know, not a physical gift because it's a precious offering. And then the other thing, astrologically speaking, that's going on this week is on the third, um, Uranus goes direct in Taurus. And I'm so grateful because I'm a Taurus, and I really want Uranus to just leave already. Um I think it leaves later this year. But uh, it's all about breakthroughs. So if on the first or second you do a ritual for stepping into your creativity and your passion by the third, maybe some breakthrough energy, some ideas will come through. Because I know, like I don't know about you, but my best ideas come through when I'm either doing a menial task, like washing dishes, or doing something creative. Like I'll leave, like I'll leave writing for a little bit. I'll go color and then or I'll do something like listen to music or whatever. Then I come back and I'm writing much better, which is my job. Yes, it's creative, but it's also like my job. So think about creative breaks too, like how they can create a breakthrough for you. And I've talked about the Channy app on here from Channy Nicholas. There is a whole breakthrough course on there that's free, even if you don't pay for the app. Um so if you hear the word breakthrough and you're like, I could really use a breakthrough, I recommend that course. No, I'm not affiliated with her. I just I did it and I thought it was fun. A few of us did it in our coven and really liked it. Um, but yeah, breakthrough. Hmm. I love that keyword, breakthrough. Okay, so that's what we have going on for the week. Um I talked about in bulk last week. So if you want to go back and listen to that episode with some ideas. But basically, you know, let's let's start with simple and get more or like elaborate. Simple things you can do today. Go outside and look around and take note. Do you see any subtle changes? Now you may be in a place that's like covered in snow, and so you're like, no, Jenny, I don't. It's still dead of winter here. Um, but you may be in a more temperate place where you're starting to see early signs of spring. So that's one thing to do. Another simple thing, listen to some Celtic music, some music about Bridget, some in bulk music. Uh Lisa Thale is classic pagan music. Um, I have playlists on my Spotify, which you can find on my website. Um, so that's an option, right? Those are all simple. Like, don't take much effort at all. You could actually be sick and still be able to do those things for the most part, right? Uh more elaborate, but cooking some kind of special meal. Uh a lot of times traditionally people would put milk or dairy in these meals because involve means first milk. So, but if you're vegan or lactose intolerant like myself, you can feel free to leave that out. Um, so you know, that's option. Having a tea or blending a tea, right? Lighting a candle, all of these simple. You want to get more elaborate? I think I don't know. I'm really feeling this idea of a creative ritual to reignite creativity, to step into creativity, to be empowered by our creativity. You know, you think about it, our society kind of frowns on creativity because it's wild, right? You can't teach someone how to be creative. I mean you can, but it's like innate and it's something that gets stamped out by school and other social constructs, right? So creativ being creative is part of a re rewilding, and it's also very subversive and it's very anti-patriarchy and it's very anti-fascist. Like being creative is a form of protest. So it's your it's your right, it's your duty to be creative, right? To step into that creativity. But in all seriousness, I think it is really the the bomb, B-A-L-M, the bomb or the answer to the panacea, the antidote to stress and anxiety, is when we step into that creativity. When I had my psychic reading for the year ahead by my friend Laura, she was like, you know, have you thought about like she basically was talking about my working? And she's like, have you thought about like setting up a little station where you color and a little station where you do Legos where you do this or that? Basically, like telling me like not to work all day, because I can't do that. I can't sit at a computer all day. Actually, nobody really can, like, in all honesty. It's kind of silly that our jobs expect us to. Most people are only really productive for about two hours a day. Um there's some kind of statistic like that. And so, anyway, she was basically talking about making creative breaks. And so, one of the things I did for myself this year for the first time, I bought usually use the Wee Moons planner, but I bought the Coloring Book of Shadows planner for a magical 2026 by Amy Cesari, and I got the version where you color it. And so it I just have it out and I have my colored pencils, and I also bought myself a box of nice crayons that are sharp, and I just color from time to time. Um music is another good break for me, taking walks, but basically breaking up the workday and building in room for creativity helps me be creative because you know my job is creative. Like I'm a writer, I am a content creator, I do card readings, I run a coven, and I do these podcasts. All of these are really require me to be creative, and I have to fill that up, I have to fill that cup with activities that aren't for other people. Like coloring is just for me, writing poetry just for me, those kinds of things. So get creative. Crystal grids are really great way to get creative. Um, maybe redoing your altar today creatively, like something you just never done, like dusting it off, taking everything off, and just like starting from scratch. Um I do that often. Maybe doing a creative arrangement, like a floral arrangement, going get some flowers. Trader Joe's is such a good place to get like a bunch of little bouquets and then making your own arrangement. My daughter and I like to make yard arrangements. We've been putting a lot of juniper in our arrangements because it's green and very beautiful this time of year. Um, yeah, get creative. I really am feeling that this in bulk is a time to be creative and to kind of step into the ritual of creativity and flow. So, questions. So the first one is to do with in bulk, right? What are what is what is the fire in your life at the moment? Like what is bringing you fire? What is bringing you passion? What is bringing you, what is lighting you up, right? Where's the fire in your life? Second, based off of our card, what is one precious offering you could give this week? And it might be to yourself or it might be to someone else. Could be a bath for yourself, it could be deep listening for your child, it could be getting this report done at work. What is a precious offering? Because you know, remember your time and energy is really precious. So anytime you give of those things, it's very precious. And then lastly, for the Leo moon, what is what what are you feeling like? What are you feeling you want to express right now? What is something in your heart that you want to express? I hope you have a beautiful full moon. I hope you have a beautiful in bulk, and I hope you have a great week. God bless it be, which is
