Thing about this, you you Orlando, yeah, you owe for eight.
SPEAKER_06They come down, and all you hear is Detroit Basketball. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_04Hey, and you can't hit a you can't buy a button, you can't get a foul, your boys getting ripped, rebounded, like and you all you hear is Detroit basketball over the last pick. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that's that's the big advantage right there. Home advantage. That's the big advantage right there.
SPEAKER_04That's why you go 60 and 22 to get the number one seed. Because you won't get it.
SPEAKER_03Welcome back to At Will Podcast. This is your host, Antoine Williams. I'm here with my bros.
SPEAKER_09What's the deal, man? It's Jay Pryor, man. We're back in the cut, man. We're back with another episode.
SPEAKER_03Let's do it, baby. Man, what's good, y'all? I'm excited. Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's go. Let's go. And here we have it. The face of consumers. This is my guy. This is a man. This is a guy I grew up with. My boy Melvin G Money.
SPEAKER_04What's cracking, y'all? We back for another one. Another good one. Back with my brothers. I am Will, baby. Back with my brothers, man. It's always good to be invited back to the At Will podcast. Always good. Always good. How you been, man? Man, I can't complain, man. Just been uh one day at a time. You know what I mean? I know a lot of people know that you know Randy had cancer, so working through that, man. Just been supporting her, and man, honestly, God is the greatest. Yes, he is. Um, she's been recovering will real well. So I appreciate y'all prayers, man, support, thoughts, everything. Always a little text here and there, man. I appreciate y'all, man. For real. But um, that's about it, man. Just being there for her, and she's recovering well. So I can't complain. Y'all doing it. For real. I can't complain.
SPEAKER_03Watch it. I can't do it. So yeah, man. Yeah, sure. Glad you're doing well, man, for sure. Man, what's up, fellas? What y'all? How y'all week been, man? It was it was long.
SPEAKER_09I ain't gonna lie. It dragged. It dragged a little bit. Man, the weather been changing, man. The weather throwing me off, man. It's hot one day, then it's cold. Then we had a little freeze watch. I don't know. The weather be affecting my mood a little bit. So I've been in the crib and work been dragged. I blame Trump.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna get into that, though. We're gonna get into that. Cause I say the weather is almost like the gas prices, basically. I blame Trump.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, gas prices. Come on, man. Late summer, we might be at six bucks.
SPEAKER_04I put gas, it was five $4.99. Dog, man. Listen. Oh, dawg. Man. I ain't gonna cuss. But I cussed up all day.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. What is the lowest you ever seen it at?
SPEAKER_04So far?
SPEAKER_09No, I'm saying, like in your life, in your life.
SPEAKER_03See, we grew up back in the good old days.
SPEAKER_04I think the lowest I remember ever seeing gas when I was driving was like 89 cents. And then I got my life, it was like 89.90. When gas broke 95 cents and went to a dollar, man, it was an uproar. So it's had to be what?
SPEAKER_07We paid a dollar for gas.
SPEAKER_03It was we bad. Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_07That's the walking.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_07Nah, you good.
SPEAKER_06You good, man.
SPEAKER_04No, they was no. When I say mugs was upset. Man, for real, for real. Because when I started driving, it was 89 cents. Yep. I'll never forget that. Because we used to have uh Clark on Prostol. Y'all some young cats. Y'all don't know about it.
SPEAKER_09I don't know nothing about that. Clark, Clark on Presto.
SPEAKER_0089 cents.
SPEAKER_09Probably. You riding off 10, 15 bucks. You put five dollars?
SPEAKER_04Five dollars is almost five dollars. No, screw business. All jokes aside. You throw five in the tank, you ride for the whole week.
SPEAKER_03Five dollars is almost like throwing your tank. For real.
SPEAKER_04Let me let me let me get five on three.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, right, right.
SPEAKER_04Five oh three.
SPEAKER_09You need fifty on three dollars.
SPEAKER_03No, you need about 75. Man, I see my cause I gotta buy my truck or whatever. Man, I never had to put $100 in my tank. I was like, I was like, okay, I got a new Silverado or whatever. And I was like, all right. I was like, looked at the gas, I was like, $106. It costs more to go to work. Then to do the work. Hey, man, I said, I ain't going nowhere.
SPEAKER_06$106.
SPEAKER_03I'm about to get an electric joint. Yeah, no, man. Man.
SPEAKER_02Man, real talk though. I'm saying Tesla's got it nice right now. Electric car's got it nice.
SPEAKER_04If I find the right electric car, Tesla's probably probably about to go up for Tesla. If I find the right electric car, I might buy a hundred or something.
SPEAKER_02Nah, Tesla might be the way for real. For an electric car? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So what's the deal with the electric car? Why wouldn't they sell so why weren't the people buying them at first or whatever?
SPEAKER_04Because of the fact that he was like malfunctioning a little bit. I know it was something that had to do a little bit was like with the battery. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09They had battery malfunctions and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. This um this one cat who used to work for an electric car joint that I know. Um they were having trouble shipping them because I guess they were so heavy or something. So but oh, they are heavy? They heavy or the other. I guess the brand he worked for was heavy, but I I don't know like all the ins and outs. That's kind of some of the stuff he would he used to say. But I'll tell you this.
SPEAKER_02With Tesla, because a lot of cars either have two or three motors, batteries. Yeah. Um those themselves cost more than the car.
SPEAKER_04Oh, the battery. The battery. Yeah, it's over.
SPEAKER_02If one of them goes out, it's over. Or if they go out, you gotta get a brand new car. Gotcha. Because you want to replace those batteries, it costs more than what you paid for the car. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_04That makes sense. Okay. But I'm saying, no, you cop that, no oil changes. Man.
SPEAKER_09Oh, I didn't think about that. Right. But it still costs to charge it, though. It still costs to charge it. It does. And it is. It's not just phone chargers.
SPEAKER_04But some cats say sometimes they're not going to be able to do it. Well, it depends. Yeah. Oh, some sometimes you do. It just depends. Yeah. Yeah. No, like you can go to the case.
SPEAKER_02Like they have charging stations. It costs to use those charging stations. Okay. Oh, that's the time. Okay. It's not like they charge you however much. Like it's, I think you pay like a set rate or something like that. Okay. But then you can.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like by Myers and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_02You can also have like a home charger. Right. You can hook it up to where you plug it in at home. You feel me? But I feel like that'd probably be the best way.
SPEAKER_04But that's still cheaper than gas, though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It still might, yeah.
SPEAKER_04It ain't gonna cost me $100 per charge. I can tell you, I can tell you that right now. Man, look. I'll tell you this.
SPEAKER_07That 106 kill me, man. Oh, that's a crazy. 106 at park, man. That's a crazy part. That's crazy, dog. 106 at park.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, but 106 and park is part. How much how much you how much they charge you, man? How much you gotta pay to fill your joint up?
SPEAKER_09Probably about 60. Probably about 60. I ain't got no trust, though. That's if everything is like if you wait till last minute and okay. But 60.
SPEAKER_02I'd be on E4 car, though.
SPEAKER_09And you on E about 60, but I'd be on E before I fill up.
SPEAKER_02See, that's how that's what I did. I use my full team because I'm back and forth all week. That's what I did.
SPEAKER_03I went all the way to the E.
SPEAKER_02I was like, all right, man.
SPEAKER_09But it's it it takes more, it's more money if you do it that way, man. I fill it. You think so? Yes. If you wait till it's all the way get to E. I'm not gonna say that. If you wait till it gets all the way to E to fill it up, if you fill up spending more at once.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_04But over time, it's gonna be probably about the close. Yes. If you fill up one time, say 100. Yeah, yeah. Alright, so you fill up one time for 100. Yeah. But now I drive and I fill up twice for 50. Like, but I guess if you said, alright, I'm gonna pay 50 right now versus paying 100 right now.
SPEAKER_09Hey, you're right, though. It make it do it because it does make it feel worse when you pay the whole hundred up front for sure.
SPEAKER_02Man, I was complaining when gas was at $399 and my tank cost me $90 for $3.99. Now it's $4.99. I'm like, bro, I got a 24-gallon tank. I remember this.
SPEAKER_04I used to just throw $20 in the car. It didn't matter. Put 20 in every time. You throw 20, you straight. You straight. Man, 20. Your joint go be more.
SPEAKER_09Man, did it move? Hey, I ain't gonna lie, I remember a few more. I remember back in school. I remember back in school. You getting a ride. I remember back in school, like when we ride with the guys or something like that, somebody else got a car. Get them a 10. We good. We ride wherever. Give them $10, we ride wherever. You got $2. You got two. You got two.
SPEAKER_06Oh, we good.
SPEAKER_03We can they roll with me, man. They said $10.
SPEAKER_04I need to $10. $10 ain't gonna do nothing. $60 though, that for a car, yeah. I that's still a lot. That's still a lot.
SPEAKER_09Make me miss COVID days.
unknownMan.
SPEAKER_09So what do you like about COVID? For real, man. What do you like about COVID? Besides the pandemic, but yeah, everything was cheap. Ain't nobody going nowhere, guys. That was probably the lowest I'd ever. That's probably the cheapest I ever probably seen, guys.
SPEAKER_04When you start driving though. Right.
SPEAKER_09What year? Yeah, like around I would say 2016.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_092016, maybe. Like when I when I just when I just started like 29 drive. Okay.
SPEAKER_04So I was 15. 26 cents. The gas was probably like 250 around that time. And that like that was still high though. That was high. That was high, like that was high. Now again, we saw 89 cents. And to us, when 89 cents to us, I know my my orders, my parents, my orders are like 89 cents, that's way too much. Yeah, yeah. Nah, bro. Give me 89 cents tonight. Man, for sure. I don't care if it's all water. I need 89 cent gas. Hey, I need the 89 cent gas bag. I don't care if it's 95% water. No, man, just give me loads of work. Hey, as long as my joys start, I would be putting out a highway.
SPEAKER_03No, man. No, man.
SPEAKER_04Corey, you said it cost you about $100 too?
SPEAKER_02Uh if I filled up now for $4.99, it'd probably be like $115, $120.
SPEAKER_04What y'all driving? Pickup, uh, pickup trucks and uh escalating.
SPEAKER_02You got an escalate? I got a GP. Nah, but I got a tiny bit. I got a big tank. I got 24 guys in the city.
SPEAKER_03Okay, all right, all right. I got like a 13. Yeah, your tank might be a little bigger than mine. Yeah. It's it's a lot. Hey, man. What y'all think about these playoffs though, man? Playoffs. Playoffs?
SPEAKER_07Playoffs. Play playoffs.
SPEAKER_09I've been gambling, man.
SPEAKER_06Here you go, man. I've been gambling. I was winning.
SPEAKER_09I've been gambling that free money. That bet 365. No, I I have bet a little bit of my money too. I know you bet. Monday was a good day. I hit up on Monday, but ever since then, uh I know he got it because I watched the episode he was tricking out on.
SPEAKER_04I wasn't gonna bring it up, but since y'all talking about betting, I know you got it. I know you got it.
SPEAKER_09I haven't really been betting with it with basketball though. I be trying to though, but I don't really bet big though. I be, you know, like a couple players like your yeah, gas money, you're right. 40, 40, 50.
unknownThat's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_09You're right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is.
SPEAKER_04I I know that episode. That's probably my favorite episode this this season. I seen it. And when she asked the question, listen, I'm out the game. So I don't know what goes on. Right, right. But when I seen the usual help last week, man. I'm out the game. So I don't know what goes on. But I know he got it. That's what I know. I know he got it. But back to the question, the playoffs. I had the Pistons. We need y'all to do y'all thing. Yeah. And um, I got I got I got uh the Spurs. The Spurs? All the way.
SPEAKER_03I I picked I picked the Pistons Spurs too at the beginning of the season. I got the Spurs all the way. I want to see that finals. I want to rematch against the Spurs. At the beginning of the season, I have. Detroit is not making it to the finals.
SPEAKER_02One. Yeah. Then they face the Spurs in the finals, they're getting swept.
SPEAKER_03I can't say that as a fan, but I do believe that.
SPEAKER_09I feel like So you might as well say it if you believe it.
SPEAKER_03You can't you can't fix your lift to say it, though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I can't say it's the same. I can say it because I'm not I'm not a pistons fan like. They are not making the finals. And if they did, that's a big if. And they met the Spurs, they're getting spared.
SPEAKER_04They're getting split. Like they don't stand a chance of the Spurs. I mean, they did win 60 games. They still win 60, though. That's the team. Yes. Look at the East. Jason Tatum still hurt. Yep. Paul George is out. I don't know if he's gonna be coming back. Man. I don't trust James Harden. And then um, you got Toronto. Yep. I don't even know who they got. Hey, Pistons can, man. That's what I'm saying. If I'm looking at the East versus the West, I didn't think about the opponents. I'm just take a look at who you got New York, okay. This might be our toughest opponent.
SPEAKER_09You think they're gonna put it off tomorrow?
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I say that because when you watch when I watched Orlando, I feel like they at home. They're at home.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, but they had no heart.
SPEAKER_04They wouldn't nope. They went over like 37. It was like over 25.
SPEAKER_09They got sloppy, man. They they was they got too comfortable and then they just throwing up shots. They definitely didn't want it. So Pistons at home, you're right. They could, they could, they could bring it home. I ain't gonna lie, they could bring it home.
SPEAKER_04In Detroit, Orlando had no, they they had no heart left. No, no. Desmond Bain was out there looking like uh Pop, what's the name? Apollo? Yeah, he was broke, they were broke. So I think I think Detroit, I feel like Detroit has the easiest.
SPEAKER_03And he let it come back to the 3-1. That 3-1. Yeah, that's where it get bad.
SPEAKER_09Because I I watched what game was it? Uh where they was back in uh they was back in uh in Detroit. What game was that? Oh, you talk about uh was that game five? Game five they was they was having their way at home. I ain't gonna lie, they was calling so many, so many fouls they was getting sent to the line. They probably got sent to the line probably.
SPEAKER_04Just think about this. You Orlando, yeah, you owe for eight.
SPEAKER_06They come down, and all you hear is Detroit Basketball. Hey, come on, man.
SPEAKER_04Hey, and you can't hit a you can't buy a button, you can't get a foul, your boys getting ripped, rebounded, like and you all you hear is Detroit basketball over the loud pick. Hey, come on, man.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that's that's the big advantage right there. Home, home advantage. That's the big advantage right there.
SPEAKER_04Why you go 60 and 22 to get the number one seed? Oh man. Because you won't home, yeah, home court advantage.
SPEAKER_09But K, he has to drop 30 plus for him to win the game. Hey, he has to he has to do it again. He dropped 40. What did he drop? 45? He dropped 32, what? He had 43. He had 45 and 35.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_09He dropped 32. He has to drop 30 plus. Listen to what you're saying. Tomorrow. He has to, though. He does it with ease. Is he that consistent though? He has to.
SPEAKER_04These past two games, he's been so efficient. He does it with ease. Like you scoring 45 off like uh 15 shots.
SPEAKER_09But I'm saying though, if he just fumbles this game and he does it, they're gonna lose. If he don't score 30 plus, they're losing. I'm gonna tell you this.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna tell you this. Because you know it's in Kay's nature to turn the ball over 10 times a game. Okay, stop, man.
SPEAKER_04Always bring up turnovers. Oh, because that's all baby. I gotta show up. I gotta show up there. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Look, look, look. Look, so game one, he had what, seven turnovers. Game two, he had nine. Game three, he had like eight. So listen. No, no, look. Those first three games, he had the most turnovers in like a stretch ever to start the playoffs. But look at that. He's been scoring, but if he can take care of the ball, if he takes care of the ball, they win. But if he doesn't take care of the ball game seven, because he took care of the ball in games five and six when it mattered.
SPEAKER_04I think the reason why Detroit is in this is because they did not really expect it. That's why I said Orlando. They didn't expect Orlando.
SPEAKER_02Orlando is a Orlando has been a good team all year. They gave him problems all year.
SPEAKER_04They have. But you got, I'm saying you got a young team. Yes. They made the playoffs last year. Yep. Yep. But they came in, you go from worst to first overnight. Now instead of just making the playoffs last year, it was like, oh, y'all got in. Now you are expecting the team, yeah. Like you lose first round as a number one seed. This is gonna be, yeah.
SPEAKER_02This is only ever it's only ever happened seven times.
SPEAKER_04The last one I remember was Denver. It's probably been something sooner after that. Denver uh the Nuggets from Matumbo. Yeah, yeah. That's the last one I remember. Oh shoot. But it's it's a little bit different. It's a little different.
SPEAKER_03Dallas, Dallas and uh Warriors. But we believe we believe.
SPEAKER_04So when uh Davis jumped. Yeah, yep, okay, okay, okay, yep, yep, yep, yep.
SPEAKER_09It's a little different now because I wasn't even I wasn't even really into basketball around that time. I might have been, I don't know, what year was that? That's probably before you were supposed to be. I was six.
SPEAKER_04Well, maybe I've been later than that. No, you're right. Baron Davis was on there.
SPEAKER_02So you said it's different what you said, Corey. It's a little different now because you have to play in. Okay, yeah. So technically you could get a team who is seventh finishing the season, but they lost that first game, so they got another chance and they beat the nine or ten. So really, yeah, you first versus eighth, but really you can go against a team that's a seventh seed who is a lot better than the eighth.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Okay, Orlando's really like probably a better team than the eighth seed.
SPEAKER_02Yes, absolutely. I believe it. And plus, a lot of the year, I mean, they they were healthy, yes. But I mean, earlier on, they weren't as good, but when they got Desmond Bain in that trade in AC.
SPEAKER_04That's true, though. Sometimes your record is not an indication of who you are at the end of the season.
SPEAKER_02Because even if you go back to the preseason predictions, they predicted Orlando to be a better team than Detroit. Gotcha. So as far as roster talent, they're probably more talent than the pistons.
SPEAKER_09I don't think they deserve to be the eight either.
SPEAKER_02No, they're they're better than that. They're definitely better than that. Nah, but what's what's the reason why Detroit stepped up the way they did in the last two games is because Jalen Dern finally stopped looking like a bum.
SPEAKER_04He still looked like a bum.
SPEAKER_02This is this is core. This is core.
SPEAKER_04Both of them? Little Corey, both Coreys are like this? Both. All right.
SPEAKER_03Father and son, man. All right.
SPEAKER_02Jalen Dern finally came out the gate swinging and was tired of Angel Reese posting him on Instagram.
SPEAKER_03He might be a little worse, though.
unknownHe might be a little worse.
SPEAKER_02Bro, look, literally, he he he said after game four, after game four, but Angel Reese posted him getting dunked on. He said, That ain't happening.
SPEAKER_04I mean, that was teared out. Yeah, she posted that? She posted it.
SPEAKER_07That was him getting dunked on by Jamar K.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that was nasty. I ain't gonna lie. Bro, look at the channel. She posted that nasty. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That was nasty. So you y'all think, okay, y'all think the off-the-court stuff messes with the pro what you say? That's on your mind.
SPEAKER_06Twine, let me put it this way. You're on TV. You're on TV. You a human.
SPEAKER_02Twine, let me put it true. Let me put it this way, bro. Let me put it this way, right? Let's say, let's say, for example, you and Jermaine beefing, right? Yeah. Y'all going against each other, y'all battling. Yeah. Your girl left you and got with him. Alright, so look, let's say, let's say, for example, just for example, your girl left you, got with him. I'm dunking around every every day. And then let's say you envious, you mad, you mad this dude got your girl. 50. Or you in your head. Every time you look at him, like, man, he got my girl, bro. So, you know, you feel me? You in it over your head. And then after game four, you get dunked on by his teammate, and then she reposts you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Getting jammed on. Dang that would. Oh, that would be. See, nah, that's that you can do two things. Either shut you down or turn you up. He can turn him up. Yeah, that's why he looked like that again by the same.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, after that, we gotta fight it. I don't see you. Even if I ain't guarding you. Even if you ain't got me. You know if he's been at the parking lot foot, yeah, right, right. No, I'm gonna do it. Switch that. I ain't gonna lie.
SPEAKER_09I'm surprised how he got done, though. He ain't try to scrub with him after that. Oh man, for real. What can you do? I would, I would've, I would've I wouldn't have just eat hell bro. Like he dude, he was like, like it was really like a 2K animation.
SPEAKER_07You posted that though? Yes.
SPEAKER_04On her Instagram joint. I seen it. I didn't see her Instagram joint, but I saw the screenshot.
SPEAKER_02I was looking on Twitter and everybody's like, man, it's like, man, if I'm with them, I'm telling her, chill out, bro. This ain't got nothing to do with me.
SPEAKER_04You gotta see if it's me, on the thing. You gotta be like Jordan at that point, and I took it personal. Yeah, right. You just at that point, like you gotta just say, you know what? I'm telling everybody on Detroit, hey man, listen. Yeah. I don't care what we do, I'm getting this nigga back. Right, right, right. Win, lose, draw. Hey. 50, we down 50. Hey. I'm getting back.
SPEAKER_02We do this all the time when we play 2K, bro. Somebody get yammed on it, you get crossed up. Hey man, let me get my get back. That's disrespectful.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it's part of the game. To have you posted. That word's only mental. Like you said, man, don't get me wrong.
SPEAKER_02I just never got that stuff on your mind.
SPEAKER_09That money only played such a far role when you And then what also probably was getting in his mind, you feel me?
SPEAKER_02He out here asking for like 200 million of Supermax and everything. And he looked like that in games, one, two, three, and four. It probably got in his head, like, bro, if I don't step it up, I ain't getting paid.
SPEAKER_04Pride from us, they probably like go from the from the casual fan. You know, they hear all types of crazy stuff. What you gotta think about? Say y'all two hooping with Corey's uh example. Y'all, y'all on the hoop court, everybody, all ten of them players know what happened. You know they be talking greasy on the you know they gonna be on there talking.
SPEAKER_03They on the sidelines like yeah, every locker room got it. Every locker room got somebody where somebody don't like it.
SPEAKER_04You know, you know they talking like so for the kids from for hearing from the fans, they you they probably used to it. Yeah. You know, they they they they you right, they get paid millions of dollars to do this their job. They do this every day, like this is what you train for. But now I got my peers, things in the court talking crazy.
SPEAKER_03And the only reason why I ask that is because I'm thinking as a professional athlete, you have it's it's levels. So you know, you get the crowd get bigger, yeah, the noise gets bigger and all that, so you you have to train yourself a little different than playing on the park to tone things out.
SPEAKER_04So I think they I think that they can tone out the the the social media. But you can tone out the crowd, right?
SPEAKER_02I think it's gonna tone out the easy. But when but when you battling next to that person and they're talking the whole gang, yeah, that's gonna get to you. Depending on who you are. We grew up in the place that we talk all day.
SPEAKER_03We do social media got today.
SPEAKER_02Antoine, Antoine. Oh, you too talk, yeah. Let me put it like this. Let me put it like this. Okay, you gotta remember these cats is younger than all of us. You're right. They are younger than all of us. They softer, they don't, they don't do the same stuff, they don't thrive off the same things. Yeah, but y'all, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you that's true, because I think like we we gonna talk junk, we're gonna bite kill me. Yeah, right. And then we're gonna we gonna we're gonna be cool after the game. They be cuz see that's my problem. I'm glad you said that. Because they be cool throughout the game. Yeah, like 48 minutes. No, you are my enemy. Yeah, my job is to destroy you. These cats be dabbing each other up. I fight when they get dumped on. Oh, you got me. No, no.
SPEAKER_02You dumped on the no, we that's why I like Giannis, bro. Yeah, Giannis, Giannis, he got that true Kobe mentality. Yeah, I don't rock with you all year.
SPEAKER_04Like after the game, you know, whatever y'all want to do, we can we can go out to eat. Yeah, yeah, right, right. But these 48 minutes, yeah, dog, like it's nothing to talk about. We not friends. Man, yeah. I wear this color jersey. You wear that color jersey.
SPEAKER_02Only time you're gonna ever see Giannis be cool with somebody is during All-Star Weekend. When you finally do it, yeah, we are all here.
SPEAKER_04But that's why I like listening to like the all the old school player podcast. Because uh that boy T. T is hey, T.
SPEAKER_02Great storyteller.
SPEAKER_04Yes, him and Kevin Garnett, I think are the two best. Y'all gotta follow uh Brenda Haywood. He got a he be on Instagram, yeah.
SPEAKER_06He be telling the story.
SPEAKER_04But I be look, T, I'm like T, you done play with everybody in the league.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he did. Like, how? I didn't know some of the people, I was like, dang, I forgot. You play with him? Yeah, you play with him? I was like, I forgot he was on Boston. I was like, man.
SPEAKER_04They caught it, yeah. Yeah, so but long story short, I think I think Spurs gonna take it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think I think man gonna take it. He if he takes your girl, y'all gonna fight. Yeah, man, man.
SPEAKER_03Nah, man. Why why can't why can't why why can't I take his girl, man?
SPEAKER_01Why can't I take his girl, man? Yeah, he's better than looking one, whatever. You know what I'm saying? You admitted that. I ain't say nothing about that.
SPEAKER_06I ain't about to look you don't say it. I'm a man.
SPEAKER_03You don't say it. On site, man. On site, man. Right. I ain't say nothing about that. On site, man.
SPEAKER_09I got OKC though, man. I think they're doubling back, man.
SPEAKER_03You think so? That's a good pick, though.
SPEAKER_09They definitely go back, they definitely going to the finals for sure.
SPEAKER_03Is Jalen Brown coming back? I mean, uh, if you said they're going to the finals, I'm not gonna say they're gonna beat the Spurs.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I'm not I'm not gonna sit here and guarantee that they do. Yeah, because Spurs can they can not Jalen Brown.
SPEAKER_09I feel like just how the the Pistons in the Magic series is, I feel like it's gonna be a great series. Yeah, it's gonna something.
SPEAKER_04It's gonna be something. It's uh my boy William, Jalen Williams. That's why I mean it's he's coming back for OKC. Because he ain't played right.
SPEAKER_03And they need him against uh the Spurs. They're gonna need him against the Spurs.
SPEAKER_09I don't know, man. Shea dog.
SPEAKER_03Shay is Shay a dog. He is he a foul merchant.
SPEAKER_09He a dog. He a dog. Like he might be like he the check. He might be he might be the top one in the what the all of the he might be the top in the league right now.
SPEAKER_02He he he is he is exactly he might be the face of the league right now.
SPEAKER_09Let's be serious.
SPEAKER_02No, they're not they're not gonna let him be face of the league right now. They're not gonna let him be face of the league. He's not American. I mean he's not American. I want to say that.
SPEAKER_04I want to say it. Now we're going back.
SPEAKER_07We're talking about no scale.
SPEAKER_02No, bro, they are not gonna let anyone outside of America. They want to face the leader. They want Ant-Man, yeah.
SPEAKER_04To me, Antha. He's the villain. He got the charisma, he could be the villain, he could be the good guy, he got the aura. Yeah, but he is like he got the it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He is a villain.
SPEAKER_04You know what I'm saying? But I'm just saying, like, if you're looking from a business standpoint, like Ant-Man is the one that you would want out there. I think so. Aside from all the other antics. Yep. But as far as like the face of the league, dog, he's in he's in commercials with Barack Obama. Right. He's out there Jones with Barack Obama. Yeah, yeah. Like, I know you're the president, but I'm Ant. Right, exactly. Right. Brian wasn't doing that. They gotta go with no Kobe wasn't doing that. I'm the biggest Kobe fan. And saying he can't do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Because he's Canadian. Because he's Canadian. Duh. Maybe it's a real thing. The NBA is not gonna, they're not gonna let it go.
SPEAKER_02That's why they wasn't pushing for that's why they wasn't pushing for a Joker. He won three MVPs in a row. They wasn't pushing for him to do that. Oh man. You feel me?
SPEAKER_04It's it's just they wanted Ja first, and then Ja got to that trouble. Ja got a trouble. And then they want they want Ant.
SPEAKER_03I'm just from a business. Ja would have been the face of the league. Ja wouldn't be done shooting all the I mean all the good stuff.
SPEAKER_02If a foreign player were to do that, it's Wimby.
SPEAKER_03I can see that. Yeah, I can see Wimby. I can see that. I can see Wimby if they if they let the guards down. Yep. Yeah. I can see that. Wimby fit every he fit everything.
SPEAKER_04Yep. I can see that. Yeah. But yeah, I don't see. I don't see SGA. He's too quiet.
SPEAKER_02He don't really got a media personality to do that. He's a dog. He is a file merchant. He's exactly what James Harden was 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_09He's a dog. He draws them files. He knows what he does.
SPEAKER_02Except he finally came into clutch one year and won the chick.
SPEAKER_04Y'all really act like Shay ain't like that? I'm not saying he can't he ain't that guy. I want you on that. I wish you don't like his game. I don't like this game.
SPEAKER_03Look, I'm not I'm not. What makes you not like it? They say he followed. Yeah, they say he gets on the car. I wish I could do it.
SPEAKER_04Hey, you say right now.
SPEAKER_07He step back.
SPEAKER_04I might be in the league right now.
SPEAKER_02You're in the open gym right now.
SPEAKER_04I might be in the league. I mean, he's a beast, though. I can't take nothing away.
SPEAKER_02He's nice. I'm not gonna say he's not. He like you say he draw them fouls. He's averaging 30. He's been averaging 30 for the last few years. He's a dog. But when you also shoot 20 free throws a game, you finally get there.
SPEAKER_09If you if if they're following you like that, they can't hold the thing.
SPEAKER_02They can't guard you. They can't guard you. Hey, I'm gonna say this, bro. I'm gonna say this. It's not that they're they can't guard him. It's literally that in the NBA, when you have a certain status, they're going to give you those calls if you have it or not. That is true. When that series starts, Monday? Monday.
SPEAKER_04I think so, yup.
SPEAKER_03No matter who you are.
SPEAKER_04Whoever it is, who they play the Lakers? They got the Lakers. Oh, yeah, they do. If Luca don't come back down, they're gonna sweep the Lakers. Luca don't come back. LeBron might get one. Yeah, because it's brown. But I I don't see them.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, the Lakers is looking. Okay, man.
SPEAKER_02I'm not I'm not gonna say they I'm not gonna say the Lakers is above and beyond because Houston didn't have KD. But they did look solid against Houston. Even without KD being out there.
SPEAKER_09I don't think.
SPEAKER_04Man, I I thought that the Lakers should have, I guess shouldn't have gone six. No, they should have swept him. They should have easily swept them.
SPEAKER_02They were up 3 0.
SPEAKER_04They should have swept it. It should have been a sweep. Yeah. Like you they don't come back and win two games. And now what I didn't like though, ESPN, y'all get, man, they on there talking about LeBron's gonna be the first. Like, they still got two games before you get that fire. Like, they got two games. Yeah. But yeah, I don't, I'm I'm not high on the Lakers. Ever since Kobe, you know, RIP to my boy.
SPEAKER_02I was never really a Lakers fan after Kobe. Yeah. After he retired, I said, yeah, I'm straight. Don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong. I stuck around with him, but then I kind of draft, I tried to kind of drifted towards the uh I kind of drifted towards the Warriors. Not because they was up and high at the time. I was I liked the Warriors when Steph got drafted back at 09. Gotcha. And I used to like that team with Baron Davis, Steph, uh Monte. Monte Ellis, you know what I mean? Monte Ellis is the B.
SPEAKER_03Monte, yeah, man.
SPEAKER_02I used to like the Warriors then when it was Monte and Steph before Clay came. Yep. Matt Barnes. Yep. I used to like them, but then after Kobe retired, I was like, I stuck around with the Lakers, but then when LeBron went there, I said, I'm done. Oh, you ain't a Brown, you ain't a Brown fan. I'm Kobe fan, bro. Yeah, Kobe, man.
SPEAKER_04That's how I was. But then I but then you know what made me embrace LeBron is when Kobe said it ain't about that. That is true. It's for the Lakers. We're about to be a good guy. Kobe being. So when Kobe said LeBron is okay, LeBron became okay. Off the court, I love LeBron. No, you know. I said the same thing. I'm just not a fan of his, like, you know, you gotta, I ain't saying you gotta pick one or the other. I'm not a LeBron James fan. The buddy is amazing, though. That's the part people be like, you can't give somebody props, and then you, you know what I'm saying? Like, there are things you gotta hate. I'm like, I don't, I'm not a hater. Like, dude is he's 40, what is he, 40? 40, he yeah, he's 41. He's 41 playing. Me who's the same age like at a at a high level. Level, yeah. Playing against guys, Jermaine Age. That's what I'm saying. And he is balling. I'm not a fan of the man's game. Yeah. But I will not, like, he is number, I give him number three. It's Jordan and Kobe. Yeah, facts.
SPEAKER_03But that's my top two, too.
SPEAKER_02Well, man, when it when it came to LeBron, bro, I I are I would argue it's all day. People like, oh, he's the greatest player ever. I'm like, bro, like, people say, Oh, he's the best player. I'm like, what can he do that nobody else does besides having size? He don't have nothing but his own. He is like, yes, that's all. His his size, he's a tight end out there playing against undersized guys. I say that, but that's why that's why I was always against because like he couldn't shoot the ball early in his career for the first half of his career. He couldn't shoot.
SPEAKER_03I remember he scored, it was a 25 straight against Detroit. Yeah, yeah. That's when he went to the final extra.
SPEAKER_02Hey, that was the last time uh Detroit made it out the first round. Yeah, man. Yeah, you don't have to bring it.
SPEAKER_03No, no. Yes. 2008 was the last time they made it out the first round. Yeah, it was. You're right.
SPEAKER_04Like again, I you know, I I sat there. I remember I remember we was at we was at my uncle's uh house. And Detroit had the game one. Had it one. This mug scored, it was like it had to be a little bit.
SPEAKER_0325 straight. It was 25 straight.
SPEAKER_04And we would just sit, I mean like he ain't got no help. None. You go to the finals 10 times in a row, though. Yeah, that's an um that's amazing. That's that's tough to do. Now, whether or not it's because it was just competition, but it's still I'm starting to look at now at the same time. The same competition that LeBron beat is the same competition that Boston couldn't beat. You know, like it's true. They were all in the league, you know. But I mean, to go to the finals 10 straight years. Yeah, yeah. That's that's a feat. Because Joker lost in the first round without Anthony Edwards. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. But anyway. And it's gonna be a Ant's gonna be the future.
SPEAKER_04No, that's my guy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it ain't gonna be the future. I'm a fan of Anthony. I love Ant. I like Kay, but I love Ant. He's the uh He's the best player in the league right now.
unknownWho?
SPEAKER_02No. Uh he's the best. You think he's the best? I think he's the best. No.
SPEAKER_04All around? Or just All around?
SPEAKER_02No. Alright, man.
SPEAKER_03Wimby.
SPEAKER_02Uh y'all gonna be. Exactly. I said Wimby's the greatest player we've ever seen, and he's not even done. He's only in year three.
SPEAKER_04So wait, so young too. Can you bring you reckon Wimby is the what that we have? Yes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, see, he be going too far. Hey, him and his dad is just like. He just got a height. He just got the height.
SPEAKER_02Like, he's the ever unanimous defensive player of the year.
SPEAKER_03That's okay, that is impressive. That's impressive.
SPEAKER_04Steph Curry, first unanimous MVP. MVP.
SPEAKER_03All right. Wimby's gonna get there too.
SPEAKER_02No, he ain't. Why ain't he? Unanimous MVP? Why ain't he? Man, that's tough. Bro, he's 7'5 and got a handle like Jamal Crawford. He got a game like no other.
SPEAKER_04He got game. Yes. I can't say he's the best ever. So are we talking about the best players?
SPEAKER_07Goreby's going too far with the.
SPEAKER_04How are we determining like ever? Yeah. I mean, because his skill set. The standard to me is. He haven't, we don't even know if his body can hold up yet. Bingo. The standard to me is Jordan. Just because of six championships. Like, I guess if we're going by championships, it's going to be Jordan. But then if we start like you start breaking it down by like who's the greatest scorer? If you just roll a ball out there, who's going to get you a bucket? I mean, you just throw a ball out there. Kevin Durant gonna score every single time. Melo's gonna score every single time. In some cases, it's just you know what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02Let me ask this. All right, I have nothing against KD. What makes KD special? He's the best number two. Yeah. He's the best number two. Chill out. He's the best number two. What makes him special though? What about his game separating him? 6'11.
SPEAKER_046'11.
SPEAKER_02So Wimby's first thing you name was hype. 7'5, doing the exact same thing KD is doing. I never said Kevin Durant was the best ever. Nobody's have. I don't think he's a good one. But you said getting a bucket. Wimby's going to get you a bucket.
SPEAKER_04Well, I'm just saying, like, like, when I say like get a bucket, like let's say we have the King Center. Yeah. And we're playing one-on-one. Throw the ball out there. Wimby's gonna score because Wimby, you know, but I'm talking about like just like a mellow type. I'm a bucket. Mellow? I'm a walking basket. Every time I touch the ball, it's going in. Wimby got the how you got all that. But when you talk about like just pure, again, I ain't no basketball expert. I just watched like what I like. But to me, I look at like a like a like a KD. Yeah. It's efficient. A bucket. Mellow. Come on, man. Bucket. A bucket. Yeah. Joe John, like cat. I'm talking about buckets. Now they might not be the best ever. No. But buckets, yeah. Now the best ever. I'm not saying Wimby, because I don't know if he is he gonna win a championship. Has he won an MVP?
SPEAKER_02He's very likely could do it this year.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04Very likely this year. When he does, let's let's let's have this conversation when he wins three. I feel like three is the conversation. I feel like three is where you gotta start set up.
SPEAKER_03Well most of your most of your GOATs, most of the GOAT conversations have three.
SPEAKER_04Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Burr. They all got at least three. They all got three. So if he wins three, he's in the conversation. I will give you, I will we can we can maybe start the conversation. That's crazy. Because you can win three and then never win and then and then fall off. Yeah, it just had to be injury prone. Let's circle back. What's this 2026? Let's circle back in 29. Mark this date.
SPEAKER_03Mark this day. Mark this day. Man, but y'all think the game is so political? I mean, like are these so are these guys really the best political players in the world? Like is it a political? Because you know, there's some guys that you can play. Like, hey man. They can play.
SPEAKER_04You are the best 350 players in the in the in the world. Like, the standard is to get to the league, right? I think that's where everybody's trying to get. Like, if you play this game as a as a child or your aspirations is to be to get to the league, to be one of the best 350. And then you get there, then the seven I mean there's so many tiers to like the cats we think is scrubs will beat anybody in their mama. But yeah, I'm a scrub compared to LeBron, but compared to the guy to you, I'm a superstar. I think it's just tiers to it. And do I think it's political? Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Hey, I know, I know some people they use this all the time. I can't I can't remember who first said this, right? Because they was using LeBron as a standard, right? Because LeBron at the time was probably the best in the league. They was like, I'm closer to LeBron than you are to me. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you calling this person a bum because they riding the bench. Yeah. So I won't put a name off there. Nah, I'm a I'm a Okay, go ahead first. But say also with the NBA, I'm not gonna say that's the best basketball product in the world.
SPEAKER_04I agree with you, but I think that's the standard of basketball that we have come to know.
SPEAKER_02As far as individual basketball, I'm gonna say yes, you want to make it to the NBA. Right. Yes. That is that's the goal. Yeah. But if you look at how the NBA teams play versus how they are overseas, the standard and how they play, completely different. And I would say over there is a much better product of the world. Yeah, that's why the NBA have problems with them when it comes to World Bus.
SPEAKER_04I agree with you. I agree with you. Yeah, but nobody's trying to make it overseas. Yeah, everybody's trying to get it trying to make it over here. Everybody who's overseas is trying to get over here. And maybe it's probably because of the money.
SPEAKER_02The fame. The fame. Yep. The fame.
SPEAKER_04What's the name? I know you said you had a name. So I wasn't. Okay, I got a name.
SPEAKER_03Now he might he touches all types of bases, but we Mike, Michael Beasley.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, I've been we've been, yeah, he's been everywhere.
SPEAKER_03Hey. Come on, man. Come on, man. He can play. Handcase. But he got some mental stuff. Alright? But I mean, game-wise, he should be in the NBA. He should be. Uh he No, no. Game wise, I'm telling you, what he can play, what he can produce on the court.
SPEAKER_02He was in the NBA and then he stopped producing.
SPEAKER_03So he only stopped producing because of his stuff off the court.
SPEAKER_04I think that now that we are taking mental health a lot more seriously, we are starting to hear him and understand why he didn't become who he should have become. Yeah. I think back then, you get again at the media. That's why I'm so I love the people are able to have their podcast and tell their side of the story now. Because y'all know back in the day, if they said it on the media, that's what you could. That was it.
SPEAKER_06That's what you believed. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04You had no outlet. If it's on ESPN, if they're running that story, that's a cancer in the locker room. Yep, that's right. And that's all we know. Yeah. And this guy, and and they never interview teammates. Yep. Oh, like he's a cancer. Yeah. That's it. Now that he's able to tell the story, I think that if he would have had the help that that he needed back then, he in the conversation. Maybe not as the greatest ever, but he's up there like NBA probably. One of them guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One of them guys. Yeah. See, you probably never really see Michael Beasley, did you? Yeah, that's the earlier.
SPEAKER_02I wasn't really. Him and KD were boys growing up.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So he's like the same age as KD.
SPEAKER_09So if you basketball was really never mine. Okay. Yeah, I forgot you. It was really never mine. I ain't gonna lie.
SPEAKER_04Gotcha. Gotcha. Like if you listen to any of the like them cats like the KDs, even LeBron, like all them cats talk, they always talk about how great Beasley was. I forget who was that. I think uh Mike said that McGrady was like, he's the best person I ever seen. Yeah, yeah. Like just raw talent. Like Buddy was amazing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like for real. And he's a big 69 dude. Lefty. Lefty. Had a touch.
SPEAKER_04Like strong as an eye.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ball player. Cahoot. He can be on somebody's roster right now. He still needs to be like 35, 35, 15. Durant. Yeah, he came right after Durant. Yeah, so. Yeah, man. I mean, I just Durant got a lot of things. I'm the lead in what, seven? Yup, yup. Yeah, so he probably like a year or two after that. Oh, wait, oh line, yeah, one of those two.
SPEAKER_04I'm just glad that he's able to share and tell his story. And like he's getting the help. Like, like I know we could probably overuse that phrase all the time. Yeah. But really being able to tell his side and really get it out there. Yeah. And put up men, like man, and last time we said we talked about men's mental health, like it's so important to black men. Like so we have to be able to have them outlets. And I just feel like if he would have had them, it would have been a lot different.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, man. I mean, and I I love the fact that he can have a voice now. To where you can share your story too. Cause uh uh my guy David Hoskins. Yeah, I've seen that. I've seen your chair here. Yup, yup. Man, we we work together. So he I was like, man, I was watching that interview. I was like, went to work. I was like, man, dang.
SPEAKER_06I was like, I was like, man, what you do with the LBC?
SPEAKER_03He's like, man, he's like, duh, man. He's like, I was trying to tell him, he's like, he's like, you know, I'm from Detroit. He's like, I'm telling him, he's like, man, hey, look, man, you you you a dog. He's like, man. He's like, but you gotta swing that ball. He's like, man, you gotta swing that ball. He's like, man, so he's he's like, he's like, man, he's like, he's like, he's like, I was the only one on the team that really will talk to him because he's Mike B. So everybody's like, oh, this Mike. He's like, nah. He's like, I was talking to him, like, yo, hey man, when I come back, he's like, I heard he said that yeah, yep. He's like, when I come back, he said, man, you ain't getting no shots, man. I was like, man, you he's like, man, he's like, he's like, hey man, he's like, he's like, you know, day, he's like 6'5, 6'6. He looked at me, he's like, I'm like, he's like, you right here. He's looked down at me like, yo, dog, I'm only here like six months, man. He ain't had no He probably could have went straight from high school, dude. He was that. I was like, man, he's like, he's like, man, what can you say after that? He's like, cause rather he rather he 20 points, 12 points. He's like, well man, going to the top he top five picks. So he's like, could have been number one. He was that nice. I'd like hey, he's like, yeah, but I he's like, man, I'll try to kick it. He's like, man. He's like, what he's telling? He said, it's true. He said, Mike came from nothing. He's like, he has some, he had some problems. I was like, man, so man, shout out to you, Dave, too, man. Man, they're a good guy, man. You know his dad. Yeah, Daryl's downtown, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Yup, yep, so yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's correct, man. Castle know, like just the connection that Jackson has to a lot of different different things. I know um, you know, with care, IRP to care, just uh how RP. That was just the man. Like she loved, she was Jackson Doc.
SPEAKER_03Man, Jackson, you know, Jackson.
SPEAKER_04My classmates. Yep, that was your classmates. You're older than you, but you know what I'm saying? You look at Cara, you look at uh Clarence uh love. Love, he love, P Love. Like Jackson, you know, I love my city. Yeah, me too. Yeah, we've had a lot of a lot of great people, and we still got a lot of great people coming through, man.
SPEAKER_03So Yeah. What do you think this? Okay, let me just open the floor for all y'all. What do y'all think we lack here? Like, I mean, before besides opportunity, besides being a I mean, you know, we a small city. What is one of the things that that lacks that we're where we can prosper as you know people, like where we can get outside of the boxing mindset that the city has. You know what I'm saying? What is what is the one thing that we need? What is more than one thing, whatever. Unity. Unity and support. We so divisive here, it's crazy. It's such a competition, man. I hate it, man. It's like you see, right here, we we do the same thing. But we ain't we ain't sitting up here, I ain't trying to one up you. You ain't trying to one up us. It's like, man, yeah, that's that's that's one you're right, Corey. That's one.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I agree with that one. That's what it is. I definitely everybody in competition with each other, though. But everybody wants to be better than the next person, though. But it got a lot to do with opportunities.
SPEAKER_03Or does that still something deeper from something at home or something that they haven't?
SPEAKER_09I feel like it's I feel like it's a poverty thing.
SPEAKER_04Like if you ain't never had nothing and you get something, you don't want nobody else to have it. Yeah. Geky.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, that's facts, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04If you like I'm telling if you ain't never had, you know, for the people who ain't never had nothing, you get something.
SPEAKER_03What if it's somebody that never yeah, that's like a big thing.
SPEAKER_09Or if you feel like or if you coming from you coming from that, you feel like somebody else get that and you didn't get that, you feel like why that person get that. Yeah, exactly. Is they better than me. So that's what it that's what it became where it's like a divided thing, like everybody for themselves, type of thing.
SPEAKER_03That's what y'all think.
SPEAKER_04I think everybody try to like everybody like, oh, I'm gonna put my city on. I've learned it don't work like that. It don't, man. Like, I like that's that's that's the hardest. Like you gotta be you, I ain't gonna say it's impossible to put your city on, but like I think people then they get on and everybody just gonna get the same opportunity. Yeah, it don't it don't work like that. Like I'm in this little group, and they're like everybody's shooting to get like the placements with like Chris Brown or Drake or whoever. And they're like, if you learn how to work at your level and build a cross, it's so much easier to go up. Yeah. Because you know people that I don't know. You know, you know what I'm saying? And now let's say the three of us start working together, yeah, and you start using your resources, we're all on the same level, but you may have somebody above us that, hey, let me boom. And then I'm the type of guy, like if you run the play, hey, you ran the play, do your thing. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? Because you got the you got this opportunity, yeah. We should, we good. Like so, I just think we did that, we gotta be come together a lot more. I'm guilty of that, like, especially early in my career. Like, I didn't know, it's just a lot of things I didn't know. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. But now You're talking about back when the studio was up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I I hey I'd be the first to tell you, like, hey, I think that's part of self-reflection and growth too. Like, you know, you realize that I was part of the problem. Yeah. Um, a lot of stuff I just didn't know. You know what I'm saying? But now I I agree with these two, like just coming together and and being secure in yourself, like not being jealous. Like, I think a lot of jealousy comes from insecurities. You know what I'm saying? Like, if like if I think you're better than me, I ain't gonna come on your show. Right, right, right. Like, if I think you say he look better than you, I ain't gonna say he looked better than me. But I'm just saying though, you know, like if I think he get his Jordans is better than my little Nikes, and I'll I'm hating it. You know what I'm saying? But I just think people just gotta be secure in themselves. That's it. I'm just joking about the whole look scene, but all jokes aside, like Me too, because he don't he don't look better than me, man. He don't look better than me, man. Like it's support like Corey got his business, like just support is free. Yeah, like why go ahead.
SPEAKER_09Why do you feel like why do you feel like you get more support from because I feel like this is what goes on in the world now?
SPEAKER_03Okay. Talk to him.
SPEAKER_09Say you make your own business. For instance, Corey, you just made your own business, you know what I mean? We all support you on that. Uh I feel like certain people get more support from people that you don't know than people that you do know. So basically, like say if you say if you just just just hypothetically speaking, just say if Corey went to let's just say Florida or something. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, out of anywhere out of state, and he just he don't know nobody.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_09What do you think the odds would be of him to have more like business or you know, be more successful down there than you know what I mean? Why do you think it's like because not just saying youth particularly, but I feel like I feel like certain situations like it's common. I feel like it's common that I don't know that we get more success away from home.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's why I'm like, I want to move, I'm gonna I want to move away.
SPEAKER_04I got I gotta get up out of here. Yeah. Yeah. And that's that's a good question. Great question, George. Like, that's a great question. Sometimes it's just because we common with people, like a lot of times I think is that we just don't want to see somebody else doing it. It might be like, oh, we do we are saying I start a photography photography business tomorrow. Corey running doing his thing. Now, do that mean that we in competition? Not at all. No, like no, like you're gonna reach a whole different different graphic. I think as people get older, you start to realize like the world is so much bigger than Jackson.
SPEAKER_03Come on, man. You ain't lying. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_04And maybe even as a younger, yeah, you probably got I was gonna say more opportunities than we have, but you're probably more prone to travel than I was when I was your age.
SPEAKER_09No, because you definitely see it like that because you think you know Jackson is just but yeah, when you go somewhere else, you see, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Just yeah, man, that's why I think the younger you are, how it's it's so important to leave. Oh, yeah, open your mind and expand it to bigger and better, I guess you could say. Just open your mind up to so many more things than your small little box of Jackson.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_02So, like, if you ain't never left the city of Jackson until you were 20, you'll that's all you know.
SPEAKER_03You know, so you know, so when you go to the other places, you'd be like, This is weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04It is so you're right. It is so important to have those. And unfortunately, everybody is not in a position to travel. Like everybody's family is not able to do that, which is you know, like man. But if you are fortunate enough to travel, it just opens you up to so much more.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna tie it to this too. All right, like kind of how we saying, like staying here and like leaving and expanding it kind of relates, but not. But like if you're so content with being mediocre, yeah. You don't know how to do all that. Yeah, so you're prone to be against it because you're so used to being in that little box that ain't never really went or did anything, right? Ain't went nowhere or did anything. So by the time you do see the success, you hating on it because you like all like you know, like yeah, I can't even finish that. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I know what you mean, but you mean don't you? Yeah, dawg, yeah, that that's real. And sometimes people are scared of success. Yeah, like you are I'm afraid of what might happen if I become if I become successful, and that's I'm working through that. Me too. Like just me too, my own, just working through just being who I want to be. It's a it's a lot, dawg like now.
SPEAKER_03Do you think that's a person? That's it's more of a personal issue for sure. Yeah. Because it's like, do you think it's like, man, people gonna think, oh, I'm thinking I'm too good for some of that?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you know. For me, how I'm just working through it now, is like I'm just looking at everything, just trying to go through and look at everything in my life. And I know a lot of mine um is probably just my own insecurities. You know what I'm saying? Just growing up, you know. I'm a dark-skinned guy. Yeah, you know, so y'all know how the dark-skinned jokes used to go. So laugh, you know, and shout out to my put the dark-skinned jokes.
SPEAKER_07You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04Like, some of it is that. Um, and y'all follow me, and we talked before, like, some of it is a part of just I think me personally, just even some of the church things that I've learned about um tech music. You can't play for the world. Yeah, so now I'm oh I can only play in church. Yeah, and so now because I can only play in church, I'm only limited to the church. And then in the church, they don't want to pay you. Yeah, so now you gotta. You know what I'm saying? So it's it's a it's a lot of different layers, but ultimately I just think it boils down to people just being um confident who they are, yeah. Like confident in who God made you to be, confident in what you feel God has called you to do. Because I don't think everything is gonna be done in the church. Yeah, I don't think everything is gonna be done, you know, in in the four walls of per se.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I I say this also. So when I was in the process of trying to start up my stuff, I had I was trying to make it my name based around like a Christian thing. Yeah, but then I also know like I didn't want to limit myself to just that, yeah, right? I said I can be who I am, but I didn't want to limit myself to just this audience. Yeah, uh, and I know like I was talking with somebody and they were how you were saying, like, do it for church, do it for God, and all that. I'm like, yes, I am, but at the same time, I'm not going to only limit myself to these people who are in this lane. Yeah, yeah, yeah because then the exposure is not gonna be there. Nope. So like not everybody's following that. It's like I I feel like if I'm doing well and I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, I'm gonna thrive regardless. Yeah, no matter what. Yep. I think that when you limit yourself to let's say this artist, like I know like I was I was at first I shot a I shot a video for one of my cousins, and um somebody's like, oh, you should do this, and but like put up with these people, they know Christian artists, da da da. I was like, yes, I can do that, but but I'm not gonna stop myself from you know working with these other people.
SPEAKER_03It's so bigger, it's so much bigger, man. So much bigger. But okay, man, let's let's let's dive in now. All right. So and you've been hitting, Bill. You've been hitting on some of the some of your latest uh episodes, man. I just hear it. Hey man, but you hitting the you you you're asking the questions that we have all, or some of us that think outside the box of church or being grown grown up in the church. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? You asking the questions that some of us have, but we were scared to ask. I mean, what made what made you want to come out and be so bold now? What and what I mean, yeah, what was the driving force of that?
SPEAKER_04My daughter, we bought we bought our daughter um this a kid's Bible. And so it had just the kid, like the stories or you know, the the the creation story, Noah's, just all the big stories in the Bible. Right, right. So I was at work and they called me for prayers one night. And I was like, okay, what y'all been doing? Long story short, they were reading that Bible, and they got to the portion in the Bible where um the flood, yeah, and how we say God destroyed the whole earth and destroyed all the people. Yeah. And Avery asked the question if God loves us, why did he destroy all the people on the earth?
SPEAKER_03Out of the mouth of babe.
SPEAKER_04She had to be like five, five or six. Five or six at the time.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I was at work. So I would ask Ray, like, so what you'd tell her, and like, you know, we we discussed it, da da da da da. But that to me were the questions that I always had. And I just never really like that. Or if you ask, you got to trust God. Yeah. Lead not to your ununderstanding. Yeah. Don't downplay our questions. And so Avery asking me that question, or asking me and my wife asking us that question, it made me say, okay, how do I have to, how do I answer this?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And how do I answer it in a way that she can understand it? And then how do I answer it in a way that explains why God would destroy the whole earth if he loves us? Yeah, exactly. How do I answer that?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, right, right. I don't know how you answer that question.
SPEAKER_00So exactly.
SPEAKER_09But I understand what you well, I understand the concept of it though, because I kind of feel like me growing up in church, like it was just through the family, like me just growing up through there.
SPEAKER_03We all all of us got that. Make sure you up at Sunday morning, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_09I'm uh all of us in here. All of us in here. You know what I mean? So I'm just I'm there trying to stay awake. And if I ain't staying awake, I'm getting hit upside the head real quick. But and then you once you there, you start thinking of questions like that. You see, but you sitting there and you in that environment for a certain yeah.
SPEAKER_04So it's like so to answer if you're really like, well, I mean, I think that's the answer that you know that I gave you. Just like really trying to, I guess I don't want to necessarily make sense because I don't think we'll ever make sense of the world. You know what I'm saying? I don't think we'll ever fully understand. I said, but I I do want to walk through this life just being myself. And I think part of being myself has always been a kind of inquisitive person to have these questions, to want these answers, or to want, or to feel like there's always something more.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because if you grow up in on the south side of Jackson, like we talked about the world, Jack with the world being Jackson. Yeah. If we grew up in Jackson, we think the world is like Jackson. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_07There we go.
SPEAKER_04But the world is bigger than Jackson. Yeah. We got Jackson County. In Jackson County, you got what? Blackman Township, you got uh Spring Harbor, you know what I'm saying? So now you got boom, boom, boom. Okay, now we got the county. Then we're gonna go next to Jackson County is Washington County, depending on which way you're going. So then you get you got Chelsea, you got like oh now after that. Like the first time was Ypsilanti's. So then after that, you got Detroit. Like, so you start to see like the world is so much bigger than what you know. Yeah. And so I don't, man, I hope I don't get y'all in trouble. Because I I don't I don't care. You good. I'm I'm to the point now, is that the last episode, not the last episode, the episode before last, I said, I believe in God, but I don't know that God exists. Come on. And I got I got what I got. Yeah. Um, but I said that because the truth of the matter is, and people can fight me, they can say whatever. We don't know. Yeah. We don't. We just believe. We just believe. We believe it. Now, I'm not saying that our belief is wrong, but what I am saying is that a person who grew up in China is gonna believe what they believe. Yeah. And they're gonna think that I'm gonna die and go to the Chinese hell because I don't believe what they believe.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I think that they're gonna go to the hell I believe believe in because they're, you know what I'm saying? Like, we believe that Jesus is the only way. Somebody else may believe something else. Is there any concrete evidence? Do I feel like God would just create this vast earth, billions of people, and say this is the only way?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna be honest with y'all, like, I was just about to ask you, uh, do you think God created other things, other religions and to draw draw his people towards him? I I think maybe it's uh maybe it's the lifestyle of faith or that he just wants people.
SPEAKER_04I mean, now at this point in my life, I'm less concerned about I just I I'm just I'm less concerned about following this list of rules. Yeah. Thou shalt not this, thou shalt not that, da da da da da da da da da da da da. And I'm more so concerned about, hey, you good? What can I do for you today? Yeah, because you you you you straight. Yeah, yeah. But you you you oh, I see you ain't got not you, but I see you need something to eat. How can I help you? Bro, are you how how do you feel? Are you straight? You need love, like I wanna love. Yeah, like no, all jokes aside, like I just wanna love. And I feel like if we can learn to love, like the like really like love, that's gonna eliminate a lot of the problems that we have. Yeah, Jesus said, Love your neighbor as yourself, yeah. And then love the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind, and your soul. Upon these two hinges all the law and the prophets. Yeah, yeah. That's what Jesus said. Yeah. Now, that's just me. You know what I'm saying? Come on, man. So I just feel like the world is so much bigger than what we make it out to be. I feel like it's bigger than our denominations. I feel like it's bigger than our churches. I love the church, I love God. Um but I also understand that we we renegotiate and pick and choose what we want to pick and choose in that Bible.
SPEAKER_03The the the religious and the beliefs and the rules sometimes boxes in. Yeah. And we get so stuck into routines and rituals and all that stuff to where we don't think outside when God is so much bigger than just what we all believe in this little old.
SPEAKER_04If we think the Bible is the only thing that contains God, then we lost it. We lost already.
SPEAKER_03He's way big. Man, come on, man. Hey. Oh, you you ain't say it because you don't read your word. Man, I God's word is being written every day. And we we don't have no papers saying, hey, Melvin, this word is being written every day. Man, I was I was taught that as a young uh I learned that uh when I was going to Dominion. I used to go to see, I was one of those dudes. I used to sneak out, go to conferences, I I go to other so I I was always wanting more. I I I still do it to this day. I still search for more knowledge. It's more out there. It's bigger than yeah, yeah, man. So I was I was like, man, I was like, man, oh. I don't want to get y'all in trouble, man. You know what I'm saying? I want to get y'all, I don't want to get y'all, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04I don't want to get y'all in trouble.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm just joking, but we're the same lane, man. We no, but yeah, because religion, religion sometimes held us back. It did.
SPEAKER_04And I think it's good talk, I really think it's good talking points. It is. You know what I'm saying? Like, I I used to want to, like, when I would like like when I was boom, oh you gonna die and go to hell, yeah, like my only goal was to convert people because I did not want them to go to hell. Yeah. But now it's like, was that really, was that really the right mindset to have at that? Because if if I'm getting you to do something because you're afraid of me, then there's no love in that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04If I'm like, hey, bro, give me all your money and you give me your money because you're afraid of me, I'm a bully. Like I'm not, I'm not compelling you with love. Like Jesus said compel them.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So if I'm like, if I'm trying to be like Jesus, and and this is bigger than just church, or like just in life in general, because you go through life, you meet people who are who don't believe in God, who people who might be cogic, people who might be atheists, Catholic, da da da da. And then so at the end of the day, like when I look at you, I don't know who you are. Yeah, but I know that I should love you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like for real.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So you know, I just and yeah, feel yeah, and I I just hate the fact that, you know, from the old time religion, what we all grew up with, and then before us, our families and all that, like, man, they I was like, man, if they only knew what they knew, what's being revealed now. I feel like, I feel like now, I feel like, and I feel like a lot, just like with the government stuff and all that, I think I think it's about to be more exposure now. No, I'm man, it's just so much happening.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. And it's like we gotta, you know, everybody is like, you know, I don't I don't want to make this political 'cause not because I'm not I'm not gonna say I'm not into politics, but I'm not gonna make it political. But I I just hate when people like, you know, that Trump is God is using Trump to usher in the second coming of Jesus. Wait a minute, pause. I'm not ready for Jesus to return. I heard somebody You ready? I'm not ready to go. I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm not ready. Yeah, right. I'm not ready for Jesus if he comes, I'm not ready yet. So he's gonna use Trump. So I don't get that. To me, it just boils back down to just having questions, being inquisitive, and just you know, just seeking out knowledge. And I don't feel like you're wrong. If God is if knows all, if you know people say God knows all, he's easy, he created us, he knows all things, then God should be able to handle the fact that I got a question about something that I don't understand. And if you feel like God can't handle that question, then maybe I don't belong here. Maybe I need to go somewhere where they can handle what I bring to the table or my questions or whatever.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, man, you know, don't let don't let me keep talking something. Here's the question for the room, because you know, uh uh recently uh Kevin on stage, you know, he got catching heat a lot because his some his message is kind of similar, but it's more pertaining towards loving LGBT. We go, okay, yeah, you want to go.
SPEAKER_06Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03So okay, so it's for everyone. Yep. He said, What did he say? He got he got out of uh, I mean, he can't, what'd he say?
SPEAKER_04Uh he just he was basically saying like he has what he was taught, he doesn't know for sure. So his limited, he may have limited understanding. So he's open to basically saying, like, I'm trying to understand.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and he more love, he he loves it. He ain't got no hate for him, yeah, yeah. So they mad because he's not condemning them. Bingo. So it's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04So they wanted him to come out and condemn it. Yeah, yeah. And he won't do that.
SPEAKER_03They said I can't do it. Yeah. Which, so when it comes to us, okay, we are, we, we, we, we kind of we kind of all kind of got the same belief in the same guy, whatever, or we well, we believe in God. But how some people believe that lifestyle is the same.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they do, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_03Could you see yourself not, I mean, like, even though if you believe in that, uh, if you as a person that believed in that, could you see yourself not loving them the same? Or you like it's gonna be around you, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04Be in this world. I took this question back to when I became a when I became a dad. Yeah. I said, what if my child came to me and was like, come on, dad, I I like X, Y, and Z. Okay. It's nothing in my, it's bro, I'm telling y'all, there is nothing inside of me that will make me want to condemn my child at all. There, as long as you're not killing nobody, even if you went out and murdered somebody, I'ma love you. I made, hey, you're wrong, go, that's wrong. Because you hurt somebody.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But man, I'm just at a point now where it's just like, if you're not hurting nobody, you're not hurting yourself, I'm not hurting you, what do it matter?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because I really don't, we don't know at the end of the day. Like, we don't know what happens when we leave here. We don't, we don't know. So do I hey, if that's a lifestyle you want to live, do your thing. I'm not gonna condemn my child. Yeah, how about you, man?
SPEAKER_09I definitely agree. It's your life. You can live your life how you want to. Everybody not religious, you know what I mean? So everybody got their own life, but yeah, you're not hurting nobody. Like, yeah, it's different times now.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_09And yeah, it's certain, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna rock with that. I mean, because you know, back then, when we all was younger, even when y'all probably. Back then it was, it was no, no, no. You ain't brought up, you consider it part of the joke. Yeah, nowadays it's like, man, you know, it's different now, man. It's like, I don't, of course, if I don't live that lifestyle, I don't want to be labeled as that. Right. But it's like, nah, I don't, I don't, because I had people in my family that was some of the best family members that lived that lifestyle. Like, man, and I loved them to death.
SPEAKER_04Like, I just can't understand how people can like condemn their kids. Yeah. Like, I'm t I'm telling y'all, like, I'm not trying, like, when my child was born and I held her, and like, it's like, it was just a different kind of love. Yeah. I'm like, because first of all, you didn't ask to be here. You know, we did get you here. We got you. But then you you I'm holding her, and I'm just like, nah, yeah. I'll do whatever. Yeah. Like, I'll do whatever to protect you, I'll do whatever to take care of you. Like, you are, you came from me and your mama.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04If God, you know, if if that's if we if that were to happen, yeah, I cannot see myself saying, get out my house. Yeah, I don't love you. Yeah, you're gonna die and go to hell. Yeah. I said, because why would I want to be separated from something that I love? Somebody that I love.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's my take on it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And I know it's uncomfortable to start saying those things out loud because we've gone our entire lives. Yeah. Believe it or not.
SPEAKER_03We gotta show we a man. We're and I'm still a man just because I I mean it's like, man, yo, that's them. That's you know what I'm saying, that's them. I'm not gonna, no, it may be some places I'm not gonna go with them or whatever.
SPEAKER_04But let me ask y'all this though. Okay, let me because you know what I'm saying, because we could, we could, we could stay on that. But let's let's look at let's look at this. What about the people who having sex? Heterosexual sex. Yeah. That we know about. Yeah. But what do we do what do we don't we don't condemn them, we don't burn them to hell. What about what about the people who have divorced and remarried? Because the Bible says something about this. So it's always something with the Bible says. Yeah. When I say, and this is something that I heard from another from a guy from uh this guy online when talking about renegotiating the Bible, people renegotiate. And what that means is that people will re-interpret, reinterpret the Bible to fit their narrative. Yep, yep. The by like you think about when we was growing up, you didn't divorce. No. Didn't matter. No, no, divorce was not. Divorce was the option. Yeah. Now divorce has become so common. Yeah. Hey, and I'm not, I'm not getting like, hey, do you, you know what I'm saying? Do like do you. But don't don't try to like harp on the LGBTQ, but then like 10 of your members and three of your three of your associate pastors didn't have five different marriages. Exactly. Because if the Bible says if anyone marries a divorced woman, he causes her to commit adultery. Yeah, yeah. So man. Again, y'all go ahead, man. Go ahead. Y'all go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Come on, no, no.
SPEAKER_04So I'm not trying to start, I'm not trying to get nobody in the content to like start debate, because I'm not here to debate nothing. I'm just saying if you're gonna use it. If you're gonna use it, then let's let's be a hundred across the board. Don't wear mixed linens. Yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, don't don't eat crabs and like and then oh that's the old testament. Well, you're gonna take the whole scroll. The Bible also says eat the whole scroll. Like, I know the Bible, like that's one thing. I know what the word is. I know the right. Eat the whole scroll. But when y'all interpret that, that means you have to take all of it. All of it. Eat it. All of it. Yeah. So we can, I just feel like we cannot, and we always do, but we're gonna always pick and choose. Yeah. And right now, the the the it's it's gonna be the LGBTQ that's always gonna be the short end of the stick. Right. Like, who what they do does not, does not what anybody does does does not affect me as far as my householder who you know what I'm doing. I'm more concerned about the voting rights. Yeah. We just got stripped. Then man, come on, man. Come on, man. I'm concerned about grocery prices. Yeah. I'm concerned about I gotta pay $75 for a Honda Accord for gas.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like voting rights is really what's gonna jack us all up.
SPEAKER_03How they choose to live don't affect the Honor. It don't.
SPEAKER_04Because at the end of the day, they didn't, they didn't, they're stripping the voting rights. Yeah. But we arguing over whether or not you know they're gonna go to a hell or heaven that we don't know for sure exists. Yeah. What I do know is that this upcoming election, it's about to be all types of Hades and crazy stuff that's about to happen. Yeah. So I feel like if we were more concerned on those types of things, and I'm not all the way versed in all this, so I'm getting better at like, you know, what's happening with the world politics and all that, because it's gonna affect us, and then it's gonna affect our children, our nieces, our nephews. Because we're not gonna be, you know, we're not gonna be here in the next, I hope it'll live to be a thousand.
SPEAKER_03We going for a thousand plus babies.
SPEAKER_04But I mean, no, what's up, what's up, man?
SPEAKER_03What y'all? Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Man, come on, man.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no. But I'm with you on that. You know, it's it's like as we get older, because like you said, being a person who, you know, I was I was just what just divorced three years ago, and I was like, I said, nah, man, we gotta stick together, we gotta stick together. But it's like, you know, it kind of had it kind of with the lifestyle, with we both choose, you know, we went mixing, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04See, that's what I was about to say. Like, do you think that God will want two people who know that they're hurting each other every day? No. You think that that's the type of loving God wants you to stay in that relationship? No. Or do you think God would say, hey, I see what happened, hey, whatever what happened, it didn't work out. I love y'all enough that I want y'all to be happy. And if that means that you guys have to separate, do what you gotta do. Yeah, yeah. That's how I look at it now. It's like, I'm not, man. Do you know how many people have, like, I ain't trying to get like deep and all that, but like people hurt themselves, they harm themselves because they're hiding in the closet and they get teased. Like, I don't think that that's what God would have. Yeah. Like, and if I'm wrong, when I meet him on judgment day, I'ma take my chances.
SPEAKER_05No, for real, like hey.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah, for real, though. For real, man. So that's just kind of where I've been at, just with like with my pod and just really like just trying to. The villain. Dog. Like, we all been somebody villain. Yeah, yeah. For real though. Hey.
unknownMan.
SPEAKER_03Hey.
SPEAKER_04So what okay, real quick, before we go get out of here, what's been your toughest episode or topic that you had that you I think the toughest one was probably thus far was the last one when I talked about hell. Like just kind of going through that whole, like, you know, like if hell didn't exist, um, how well how would you live? Like, am I living because I'm afraid? Because I had to really have to like I had to really like go back and look at it. I ain't see that. Oh, but I I know that just sounded like that. Like, so the question basically was like, if if if hell didn't exist and if you weren't taught the concept of hell, how would you live your life? Because a lot of us live our life afraid to go to hell, not because we want to live abundantly. Yeah. So if hell didn't exist, are you still gonna be a bad person? Are you gonna be an evil person? Yeah. Like, are you just gonna go out here murder and whatever?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, people gonna do what they're doing. It makes you think that, like, when you word it that way, it make you think that, like, you know, this is it. So you might as well just do what you want to do.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. So my my question was if it doesn't exist, how would you live? And if your answer is different from how you're living now, like, then you got some stuff to look at. Like, if if if if hell didn't exist, I'm gonna go punch Corey in the face and ain't nothing he's gonna do. Yeah, yeah, right, right, right. No, if that's if I'm gonna just go start wilding out, yeah, I gotta look at myself and figure out like what in me wants me to live like that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But if I can say, you know what, if hell does not exist, I'm still gonna love my neighbor. Yeah, I'm still gonna treat my my kids right. Well, my kids, right? I don't have kids, but my child right. I'm still gonna show love. I'm still gonna do everything that I'm doing now. And so the whole thing was just like to get people just to say, hey, I'm not living because I'm afraid to go to hell. I'm living because I want to do right. Like I got saved the first time because I didn't want to die and go to hell. Yeah. But that was not a real relationship.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04If your child is always scared you, that's not a real relationship. I don't think so. Yeah. If you always scared, we ain't got a relationship. If you think I'm Debo and the boogeyman, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh, here come Mel. He took my nah, that ain't no relationship. It's dead, it's dead, it's dead. Yeah, so that to me so far, but I got a few, I got some stuff coming up. Okay. And I'm gonna be talking about probably um, I I want to hit on the LGBTQ stuff. Okay. Because I think that that is important. Yeah. Um, and I just, man, I just like, you know, people think that you don't believe. Like, I love God. Right. That's what people don't know. I love man, yeah. I love the church. Yeah. I think the hardest part about this is I know that I might not get invited to certain spaces that I was in before, but that's okay. It is what it is.
SPEAKER_01We ain't supposed to be everywhere anyway. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I took up all y'all time, man. I'm sorry. No, it's about you, bro. It's about you today, so man. Yeah, man. Yeah, so tell them what it was where they can tune in.
SPEAKER_04So y'all can catch me. Uh, I took the last couple weeks off just because it was Randy's birthday, and we had some uh Happy birthday once in a while. So we had her birthday. I wanted to spend some time with the fam. Um, so I'll be coming back, not this week, because I came here the following week. So y'all can catch me on YouTube, Mel Hicks II, um, Facebook, Melvin Hicks, Instagram, Mel Hicks II, TikTok Mel Hicks, um, everywhere Mel Hicks, whole Hill and Healthy. You're gonna find it. Whole Hill and Healthy, baby. Yeah, so I'm just man, I'm just glad to be here, man.
SPEAKER_02Man, we'll put that in this description.
SPEAKER_04All right. Got you.
SPEAKER_02If it's cool, we can uh collab on this episode too.
SPEAKER_04That's what I was gonna ask you too. Yeah, like if we could somehow we definitely can do this.
SPEAKER_03That'd be cool. That's no, that's a no-brainer. Yeah, man. Yeah, y'all here. This is the face of consumers in whole world and healthy. Thank you for paying your bill. Y'all see those little letters y'all get? Oh man, you see this smiley face right there, right? He'll I know I know y'all see him because every ad you scroll on uh whatever.
SPEAKER_09Every time I pay my bill. Every time I pay my bill.
SPEAKER_03This is my bro. This is my guy from day one, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And one of the baddest musicians and producers ever. He's humble too. So we we we gonna cut that out. He said, But this is part of this show where we all give our what we're gonna do at will this week. So let's go. I I'll start off. You know, I'll start off this week. At will, I'm gonna continue with this whole thing, man. Hey, I've been doing all right, man, eating better. You know, I ain't lose but maybe one or two pounds this week, but you know, I still feel lighter. I feel healthier. You know, so I'm gonna do that.
SPEAKER_07Okay, then hey.
SPEAKER_09How much time you got left though, sir?
SPEAKER_03Oh, I got a whole month. I got a whole month. You about see the pounds drop off, man. And I'm not doing no Olympic. I don't, I'm, I'm scared of needles anyways.
SPEAKER_04So I'm not gonna do it. They got an appeal for him.
SPEAKER_03Oh, they do? Yeah. Don't do that. I ain't doing Osimpic. I'm not doing Olympic. I'm good. I'ma do it the healthy, natural way, as much as as much as I can. But uh, nah, but I'm gonna attack the health. That's it, man. I'm just gonna be consistent. I've been staying consistent. I'm yeah, I'm gonna do that. That's my goal. Keep doing what I've been doing. So let's go.
SPEAKER_06What you got?
SPEAKER_09What you doing, man?
SPEAKER_03You know?
SPEAKER_09Mine, same thing, man. Consistency, man. I've been trying to build myself a plan where I can just save as much money as possible.
SPEAKER_03Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_09As much money as possible, trying to manage my finances, man. It'd be times where I just like have random like splurges, man. And I just like want to spend some money on like, you know what I mean? Like, you just random feelings. Like, oh man, I just want I want to treat myself or something. Or I just want to go out to dinner, you know what I mean? Or I want to, you know what I mean? Stuff like that. You guys do that too sometimes. You do.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_09But I'm trying to slim it down as much as possible so I can, you know, fund other things. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I I can I can tell you one way how you can do that. You do what you want to do, like splurge and treat yourself with the money that you saved. Yes. Right. So you're not taking it.
SPEAKER_03Do you have like a certain like routine or how or some type of like, all right, this this is how I'm gonna start doing because what I'm trying to build.
SPEAKER_09This is what I'm trying to build, like a like a uh like basically like a 70-30. Like when I get paid. Like when I get paid, I'm putting 70% of my you know, I'm 70% of my check or my you know what I mean, my income similar, yep. You know, towards bills, and then the 30% in savings to, you know, for other stuff like that. So I'm trying to manage doing that.
SPEAKER_03And then it works too. I'm trying to I'm trying to do stuff like that.
SPEAKER_09But I'm trying to work on it though, you know, trying to perfect that. You got it, bro. You got it, and uh get some sleep, man. Get some sleep for sure. Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure. Get some sleep, man. For sure. That's my at will moment, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, let's go, Deuce. Nah, um I'm with you, uh, man. Um, but I'll say one thing, because like it's been my goal, like for this year particular. I'm trying to save like 10,000 by the end of the year. Uh like that's just my goal that I'm gonna reach. But I also like with that, I have milestones. Okay, if I save up to 2,000, I probably buy myself a pair of shoes or something. That's right. That's how it gets, man. You want to take trips.
SPEAKER_09We want to take trips, we want to, it's a lot that we want to do, but it's like stuff's so expensive now, man. We paying all this. You ain't lying. Yeah, it's just yeah, man.
SPEAKER_02So that's just like me. I'm I'm doing milestones with mines. Like, if I hit Sir Martin, I'll buy something.
SPEAKER_03If you feel me, like if I hit reward yourself, like man, yeah, reward myself for saving up to that point.
SPEAKER_02Uh but it's just to hit on what you were saying. But also mine's like, I'm trying to uh consistency for sure. Um, but at the same time, I'm trying to venture out, get out of my comfort zone. So I'm gonna try to start reaching out to people uh just to put myself out there. Uh for those people who may not be exposed to me or what I'm doing, uh put myself out there. So I'm gonna try to hit up some realtors, try to see if I can get in like real estate, do videos and stuff like that. Um that's a great idea.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. No, for because you can make some money. Yeah, that's a great idea to be able to uh take their pictures, get your that's a great idea. We was talking about that last week. Ain't nobody doing that, man. Nobody does that.
SPEAKER_09Ain't nobody even thinking about that. Most people is thinking about being a realtor or great or you know, investing in the houses or whatever.
SPEAKER_02Ain't nobody thinking about I need somebody to put this on the market, put this, put this on the put this on uh online for me. Yeah, so with that, I'm gonna try to reach out to some people. I know people, uh, I have a few people who said they could possibly connect me with somebody. They know people who have like their own brokerage and everything. Uh so I'm gonna try to reach out to some people, try to do that. If I can do videos, pictures, like a video walkthrough, all that stuff. Uh you got a drone? I'm getting it. Yeah, all right.
SPEAKER_09That'd be the hardest.
SPEAKER_04That's a fantastic idea.
SPEAKER_09I ain't gonna lie, I seen something like that in like uh it was on it was on social media, obviously, but like I think it was like maybe down south, maybe like Texas, Houston, or something like that. And yeah, they put the drone through the house. Yeah, that was dope. Yeah, that'd be dope for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I wanna reach out to some people doing that. Uh I'm still in the process. I'm trying to market myself as far as photography. I don't really do photography that much, but um getting into it so I can make it better. Yeah. Um so I'm gonna do that, just try to put myself out there, try to network with people because you know, like I don't know everybody and everybody don't know me. So using people to help me help, using people to put myself out there through their connections. Uh so I'm really trying to do that, just be consistent. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03What's up, man? Appreciate it. Yes, sir. Mel man, what's up, man? What are you willing to do at will this week? Everything y'all said. Definitely I'm with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh but you you you all celebrated, so you're coming off celebration. Still, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04No, I'm trying to continue eating better. One meal a day. Yeah. That's my goal. Yeah. One meal a day and all water. All water. Yeah. Yeah. And then I I gotta get back in the studio. Let's go. I gotta get back in the studio. I gotta get back, I gotta get back acting. It's just been so life, just be life and so much. You're life, man. So I I I had to, I didn't necessarily have to take some time off, but it just took my focus away from it. Yeah, you had to, you know, healthy, man. Um that's my that's this week. I definitely gotta get back in the studio. I actually got a trip coming up in June. Yeah. Um, so I gotta get some stuff together. Yeah. And um, really, man, eat healthy.
SPEAKER_03I'm just I got I gotta drop 30 pounds. Man, I'm trying to drop 50 so I can be homes. Yeah, homes is still home. Maybe save money.
SPEAKER_04So I mean, like every everything y'all said is is is all on my is on my is all on my list. But like priority is saving, losing weight, and then getting back in the studio.
SPEAKER_09It's just like where you gonna categorize categories, like, gotta do this one first, then I gotta attack this one. Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_04It's what y'all say, life be life. It be life, but if uh get back in the studio. Yeah, that that's I want to do that. That that helps to decompress. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03You the bad, you one of the baddests out there too, man. Man, I'm that's all y'all are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We we man, we another time we're gonna reveal all those people you work with. You know, I know you got know you got something something in the book. Ah yeah, see, yeah, I know you got something, yeah. I know. We we we let him reveal. You know what I'm saying? But that's another episode, man. We're back. I told we told y'all he's gonna be back, man.
