Welcome back to Much More: Adventures — a magical bedtime podcast where every night brings a brand new tale. Tonight’s episode of Jenny the 10-Foot Giant is about big differences, brilliant ideas, and how sitting down can help everyone stand a little closer together.

Are you comfy?

Pillow fluffed just right?

Let’s begin.

Jenny was finally feeling like she belonged.

Her friendship with Ben was stronger than ever, she was playing basketball at recess, and more and more kids were asking her to hang out.

But then she noticed something.

Every day, after the final bell rang and kids rushed out for free time…

the giants stood on one side of the playground, and the human-sized kids stood on the other.

They rarely talked.

They barely played together.

It was like there was an invisible wall between them.

Jenny didn’t like it one bit.

Jenny sat with Ben one afternoon under the big shade tree.

“Why don’t the giants and humans play together?” she asked.

Ben thought for a moment.

“Maybe the humans feel a little… intimidated,” he said. “It’s not easy starting a game of tag when someone’s legs are as long as a jump rope.”

Jenny nodded.

“And I think the giants feel like no one wants to be around them,” she said. “Like they’re too different.”

That’s when Jenny decided:

Something had to change.

And maybe she was just the girl to change it.

The next day, Jenny tried to organize a “get-to-know-you” lunch.

Only one giant showed up.

And no humans.

Then she tried hosting a recess dance circle.

But everyone just stood around, too nervous to be the first to move.

Jenny flopped on a bench, frustrated.

“This is harder than I thought.”

Ben, ever the problem-solver, leaned over and said,

“What if we all started at the same height?”

That’s when Jenny sat bolt upright.

“The Same Height Party!” she said.

All week after school, Jenny and Ben sawed, painted, hammered, and laughed as they built dozens of special chairs — tall ones for the smaller kids, lower ones for the giants — so that everyone could sit together, eye to eye.

Soon, other students started to take notice.

“Need help?” asked Mia, a human.

“I can paint chairs!” said Tomas, a giant.

Slowly but surely, humans and giants began working together.

And just like that, the invisible wall started to crumble.

On Saturday, the playground transformed.

Colorful streamers hung from the monkey bars.

Snacks filled the tables — cookies, fruit kabobs, chips, and cupcakes stacked like towers.

Everywhere you looked, there were chairs — tall ones, small ones, but all perfectly sized so that every person sat at the same height.

As the guests arrived, Jenny and the planning crew showed each person to their custom chair.

There were juice boxes.

There were belly laughs.

There was even a conga line that somehow wrapped around the slide twice.

And as everyone laughed and talked and shared stories, Jenny saw something beautiful happening…

Humans and giants weren’t just sitting next to each other —

they were becoming friends.

When school started again on Monday, the final bell rang…

And this time, there were no sides.

No walls.

No distance.

Giants and humans played basketball together.

They built sandcastles together.

They even swung — carefully — on the swings together.

All it took was a little creativity…

and a whole lot of heart.

And from that day on, Jenny knew:

When we sit at the same level, we see each other more clearly.

And when we build chairs that bring us together — instead of walls that keep us apart — the world gets just a little more magical.

Goodnight, dreamers.

Sleep tall.

Sleep united.

And we’ll see you next time.

I hope you enjoyed listening to the Jenny, the 10 Foot Giant Series. Next, we’ll dive deep into the mystical world of Nana’s Magic Drawer.
