Speaker 1:

Thank you for joining me for another episode in my series on autism. During my research last night, I stumbled upon a fascinating discovery that I had not encountered before. It relates to the index fingers of individuals diagnosed with autism. Studies suggest that, in some cases, the left index finger index is often shorter than the right index finger amount autistic individuals. The index finger observation has been particularly noted in males, which aligns with the fact that approximately 70 to 80% of autism diagnosed are male. The index finger phenomena has been documented in various studies to the extent that it is sometimes considered a diagnostic process for autism, although other factors also play a significant role in a comprehensive diagnosis. It is important to note, however, that not all males on the autism spectrum exhibit this index finger difference. Nonetheless, it remains an intriguing aspect to consider. Thank you.
