Meet Cody Stansell: Where Biblical Stewardship Meets Comprehensive Wealth Management

Cody Stansell Episode 1

Meet the Host: Cody Stansell, Senior Wealth Advisor and Owner of Steadfast Wealth Planning

Meet Cody Stansell, the passionate Senior Wealth Advisor behind Steadfast Wealth Planning, where biblical principles and comprehensive financial expertise come together. Cody's approach isn't about selling products—it's about building lifelong relationships as a trusted financial concierge for his clients.

The comprehensive services at Steadfast Wealth Planning cover every aspect of financial life—investment management, retirement planning, tax optimization, estate planning, college savings, insurance, and more. But what makes their approach truly distinctive is understanding what clients really want. "None of them say their goal is to be wealthy," Cody reveals, "but almost all of them say they just don't want to be poor and have to rely on their children." By creating tailored plans that address these core concerns, Cody helps clients build the confidence to live financially free lives. In an industry where trust is everything—"very hard to obtain and very easy to break"—this client-first mentality has fostered a thriving practice built largely on referrals.

Speaker 3:

Doing well. Thank you, Sophia. Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2:

Of course so, cody. Over the years you've grown a remarkable following. However, some listeners may not be familiar with your whole journey. Let's take it from the top. Could you share a little?

Speaker 3:

background about your company and what you do. Yeah, absolutely so. Our firm is Steadfast Wealth Planning. We're a comprehensive financial planning firm, which all that means is we help folks with the big picture a lot of different aspects, right so? Investments saving for retirement. We do a lot of different aspects, right so investments saving for retirement. We do a lot of tax planning for our clients. That's a big need, especially in today's world. We want to make sure your estate plan is in order, saving for college, stock options, life insurance, the whole game, right. We want a lifelong relationship with our clients and kind of be a concierge to their financial life, not just offer products. We are also a Christian faith-based firm, so all of our team members have a faith. It's very important to us. It's not a requirement for a client to have the same faith, but just that mentality, even our business. Steadfast is a biblical term. We have a stewardship mentality. So it's not our money, it's our clients' money. They've entrusted us to help manage it for them.

Speaker 2:

Most definitely because through God all things are possible.

Speaker 3:

I appreciate that yeah.

Speaker 2:

So, cody, when you're not busy running your business, what do you do for fun?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, great question. I am married to my beautiful wife, melissa. We do have three children. My oldest is eight, then I have a six-year-old and then a one-and-a-half-year-old little boy. So on a busy days, being dad is really important to me right now. I played baseball my whole life a big sports guy. I played baseball in college. So I try to stay active. My wife is also a personal trainer, so she is very fit. My fitness goal is not be the fat guy married to the hot girl, so that's my overall fitness goal. So trying to stay active, chasing my kids around, obviously running a business, that keeps me pretty busy.

Speaker 2:

So, cody, we know marketing is key to any business's success. How do you market your business?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, absolutely so. As you can imagine, client referrals is a big source. It's really gaining trust with your current clients, treating them well, serving them right and, of course, by nature, they're going to refer their coworker, family member, sister, whoever it may be. This business is all about trust. It's very hard to obtain trust and to earn trust over time. Very easy to break it. So when you're handling people's finances which are vulnerable businesses, Very sensitive topic Trust is key. So we have a lot of clients through that referral system. And just treating clients well, helping them grow their money, make wise decisions that's where a lot of our clients come from.

Speaker 2:

Cody, you're a very busy person, In your own words. Why are you doing this?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, absolutely so. As a faith-based individual right, I feel like it is my calling. I feel like this is my passion, what the Lord has called me to do, and especially this day and age, there's a lot of folks that need financial planning. A lot of baby boomers are retiring and they don't have a plan. They're not confident in the money that it has or they're afraid they're going to run out. A vast majority of my clients none of them say that their goal is to be wealthy, but almost all of them say they just don't want to be poor and have to rely on their children or somebody else to financially provide for them that resource to create a plan, build confidence, know that they're not going to spend too much and that enables them to live a financially free life. That's incredibly rewarding for us in what we do. I love what I do, very passionate about it, and I'm very excited to help folks.

Speaker 2:

Love it, cody. We'll catch you in the next episode, where we'll dive into some frequently asked questions.
