The top of the bottles, if you can see it.

Speaker 2:

That's my favorite part.

Speaker 1:

They are absolutely stunning.

Speaker 2:

There's five different tops.

Speaker 1:

There are five different diamond shape tops and they are corks, so you could reuse them as a wine cork. So you want to give it a try?

Speaker 2:

yes, we have not tried it yet. I know we have not tried it and I'm really excited, okay you're gonna slide a shot glass over all right, I love my little mason jar. You guys have a cute little mason jar shot glass you're gonna to pour me up.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to pour you up.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, Do you know that like name it's like two shots of vodka?

Speaker 1:

That's what we're doing right now. That's what we're doing, all right, wow, I have more vodka than I do. Orange juice is my shooter.

Speaker 2:

Is that how it's supposed to go? No, oh, okay.

Speaker 1:

All. Is that how it's supposed to go? No, okay, all righty. So all right. Cheers to our winner, yes. Cheers to our sponsor yes. And cheers to this amazing bachelorette episode that we are about to do. All right, cheers, you don't even need a shooter.

Speaker 2:

I know, wow, I'm sorry I'm still gonna take a sip, but that's really good oh my gosh, that's like dangerously good, literally, that I'm not a vodka girl. I do tequila's my favorite, but that is really like smooth that is incredible.

Speaker 1:

All right, that is like too smooth.

Speaker 2:

I know, I didn't even get all mine. I need my little. This is so good, it's so good. Oh, all right, that'll feel nice, and warm.

Speaker 1:

That'll wake you up real quick. We don't tell the listeners what time of day we are shooting this episode.

Speaker 2:

It it's five o'clock, somewhere, baby Somewhere.

Speaker 1:

Please don't email me today and ask me anything, all right.

Speaker 2:

Yes, okay, let's get into this episode. Let's get into this Bachelorette episode. I'm excited.

Speaker 1:

Before you hop into your yes or no so many viewers. You did a poll on Instagram. I did. And what question did you even ask?

Speaker 2:

I said, you know we're filming our Bachelorette episode today and any questions related to Bachelorette parties we wanted to get from you guys and that's what we're going to be answering today your questions you have, and we have a lot, we have a lot, we have a lot to unfold. So Okay for my yes or no, kelsey, do you think yes or no to joint bachelor bachelorette parties?

Speaker 1:

Like Jack and Jill bachelorette parties. Yes, yeah, I think they sound really fun. I'm not opposed to them, especially if girls go do their thing and boys go do their thing. Yeah, I think that that's fun and it gives the bridal party some time to get to know each other before the wedding, if you don't know everyone.

Speaker 2:

That's a good idea too. I didn't think about that.

Speaker 1:

When I did my rehearsal my last wedding of the spring season this past weekend we were doing rehearsal and we were practicing the recessional, so everybody was walking out of, like, the ceremony space and I'm like, all right, you and you like come together and start walking and they look at each other and I was like freeze, does everybody even know each other?

Speaker 2:

and they're like no, and, like everybody, started laughing because they don't know and I was expecting them to like lock arms.

Speaker 1:

So, um, I think that it gives everybody a really fun chance to get to know each other, like that group camaraderie. What are your thoughts?

Speaker 2:

I actually did do a joint bachelor bachelorette party and I thought it was so fun. We had our bridal party and then a few outside friends come too that we were very close with and I loved it. I think it depends on your vibe. If you're wanting to do separate, that's totally fine too, but I don't know. It was just all of our friend group is so close and the bridal party and you know my siblings and his siblings, so you know that camaraderie and just like spending time together and like getting to know each other better, especially because you're about to marry, you know your soon to be husband or wife and you're bringing together two families. So that was super fun. And we kind of did the same thing where some days we the girls went and did something and you know the girls went down to the beach and then the guys went and did like ATVs. So you can like separate it still, but I loved it. We had a great time.

Speaker 1:

So did you guys do everything together the entire time or did you split off?

Speaker 2:

time. So did you guys do everything together the entire time or did you split off? Um, I would say we pretty much did everything together. Um, we just went down to rock good old Rocky point and we it was fun because we rented a giant beach house on the water and it was everyone got their room and it was like perfect. So, um, yeah, I would say, at night we always definitely came together. During the day it was kind of, we were very leisure. If you want to go do something and the girls go do something, we'll just make it work Cool.

Speaker 1:

So, before we jump into the questions, the top five location for bachelorette parties. First one is Nashville.

Speaker 2:

I want to go.

Speaker 1:

So bad I've never been, still I think I'm going for my birthday this year, but I'm probably gonna be on the airplane by the time. I, like, am requesting the time off. So anyways, uh, nashville's number one Austin, napa Valley, scottsdale, arizona and number five is Amsterdam, amsterdam that's like so random.

Speaker 2:

No, isn't.

Speaker 1:

Amsterdamsterdam in germany.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean I'm here for it, but like light district is I don't know, I think so. I mean, I'm here for, like, I would travel there, like with my other half, but I don't think I would do a bachelor party there. That's very interesting. That's on the top five, but yeah, not surprised. Scottsdale, everyone loves Old Town and of course I feel a lot of batch up parties over the summer. It's hot here.

Speaker 1:

I was surprised that Vegas didn't pop up Like I would have been sure Las Vegas was one of the top, like three. No way, I didn't think of that.

Speaker 2:

There's no way I feel like Vegas is a top one too. Napa Valley definitely I see that, because wine doesn't let the good vineyard. Napa Valley definitely I see that, because wine doesn't let the good vineyard. And then what was the other ones?

Speaker 1:

Austin, austin's fun. Seventh Street is wild. You can have a good time in Austin. Yep, we said let's go, yeehaw, yeah. So all right, you ready to hop into those questions? Oh, I'm so ready.

Speaker 2:

We have them on our phone because you guys sent in a lot which I'm excited to dive in. Okay, let's start with. Actually, I want to start with gift bags. Okay, yay or nay. What do you think on those? Like doing bachelorette gift bags for your From the bride I would say yeah, from the bride. And how do you think about that? There's so much that goes into this.

Speaker 1:

I know.

Speaker 2:

That's why I'm thinking there really is so much, but I would say in my opinion, from this question I think, bags from the bride to whoever's coming. I feel like that's.

Speaker 1:

So maybe we back up really quick before we answer this. So maybe we back up really quick before we answer this. Traditionally, the maid of honor is the one that plans the bachelorette party and the best man. Listen, actually, let's not even get into bachelor parties. We know guys A, they don't plan it, jack diddly.

Speaker 2:

They pack like maybe one outfit and they just go with the flow, they just go golf and do whatever, and it's like just whatever's in the moment.

Speaker 1:

The women are the ones that have the 7 million page itinerary down to the minute. So we are not addressing bachelor parties today because you gentlemen seem to have it all figured out with go with the flow. So if the maid of honor traditionally is the one that plans the bachelorette party and the bride is the one that supplies giftsachelorette party and the bride is the one that supplies gifts, I think that, yeah, you can do something really cute, especially because bridesmaids pay for their part of the trip. Like your bridal party puts so much money into your wedding, exactly With, like you said, hair, makeup, dresses, paying for it. I think it's a cute gift and especially when you do things that match, oh yeah, it gives you matching outfits or sashes or like all those things. So, did you do bags? I did do bags.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think they're cute. I agree with the fact of. For me was that everyone did pay for their own way to like stay and of course you know people are taking off work and then when we go out you're spending money. So I said I already always knew I want to make bags for the girls and also you don't have to go spend a crazy amount of money. I know some girls I'm like, wow, and that's generous. If you have the money, love that. I girls, I'm just saying for bachelorette parties Sheen is your best friend, it really is Decorations, party favors, matching sashes, I use that. And then I did one expensive item. I got all the girls custom beach bags with their names on it. Cute, since we were going to walk into the beach I was like, oh, I want to spend money on that. But I say, yes, I think you should spend money on the bags. And we even did little things for the guys. I mean because we did the joint. So, and by we I said I mean me. I put together all the guys stuff. We just did like cups for everyone with their names on it.

Speaker 2:

And then I love a good hangover kit, especially that's so smart. Yeah, did the hangover kits with, like the liquid iv, tyenol, all that good stuff that you're definitely gonna need? Did you do hangover patches? No, I've never done those. They're amazing. I also I realize I hate liquid iv. It's so sugary, oh, I don't like them. Do one that like with less sugar. I know I need to find my. I'm getting too old for this shit, so my hangovers last like three days now, now that I'm almost like 30.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, wait until you get a little over 30. Um, all right. Thoughts on bridesmaids going slash, not going.

Speaker 2:

I feel like I have good I can speak on this because one of my bridesmaids or two of my bridesmaids didn't go Um, and for different reasons they didn't go. Um, unfortunately, my sister couldn't even come, which was really heartbreaking, um for me and that sucks because just the timing and stuff like that and um stuff happened and then my one friend couldn't come because she was starting school. So I think your bridesmaids should come if they can make it, not even talking ill on like anyone or like you know who couldn't come. But you know it's special.

Speaker 2:

You get married once and this is like the big last party and I mean at the end of the day I'm planning on being with my husband forever and I'm never going to have another bachelorette party. So I think definitely, if you can make the effort, just go, because you know your bride and groom are really going to appreciate the time and effort you take to go to your bachelorette party. So I say yeah, and I think you can bring out outside friends too. I don't know your opinion on that, but besides, just the bridal party to the bachelorette party, oh, you don't like that.

Speaker 1:

No not really. Oh, you don't like that. No, not really. I think it changes the dynamic of the group, does it? Yeah, it's like you have your A group and your b group. So, like, my a group is those who are in my bridal party and the b group are people who I didn't invite into my bridal party but are, like we're still cool friends or family members. Okay, like I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I feel like you just don't like it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think it just changes the dynamics of the group as a whole.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you think, even if they've known each other for a long time, and that's the thing.

Speaker 1:

I'm more of an introvert, I'm not an introvert.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was like hold the fucking phone, but I'm pretty reserved when it comes to close.

Speaker 1:

My group is a very close-knit group. We're a very small, tight group. I like I don't have like 27 friends, you know what I mean. So I just think it it could change the dynamics of the group. So you just have to know your people best okay, so all right.

Speaker 2:

I didn't see that coming surprise for a loop right there. Okay, what else should we do? I like this one too. What is a reasonable amount of time to go for your bachelorette party?

Speaker 1:

I think it also depends on where you're going. Like you know, a weekend, two day to three day at max.

Speaker 2:

I would say Thursday through Sunday max. Yeah, like that way. I think that's good because you're not there too long, because if you're, as most people do, go to a party and drink after three days at least me I'm like okay, I'm ready to go home.

Speaker 2:

And I think that also gives you a good allotted time to plan activities. But don't feel like you're so squished in your schedule, Because if you maybe only went Friday, Saturday, then it'd be too crammed. So I think Thursday through Sunday is like the sweet spot. You think that's the perfect. I do.

Speaker 1:

I'll take it. I go for it. Okay, this is a really good question. If you're eloping, do you still have a batch party?

Speaker 2:

Yes, I know, I agree, I think you should. I think weddings, whether you elope or not, it's, it's a huge deal getting married and I think you should celebrate every chance that you can, whether you know, just like, whether that's a bachelor party doing an engagement party, you know, your bridal shower. I think it's important to have fun and celebrate it. I don't think just because you're eloping, you shouldn't have to. Yep, yeah, yeah, you agree.

Speaker 1:

No, I completely agree. I think that you are just as much a bride as all the other brides, and this is your engagement era. So enjoy it, soak it up, do all of the fun things, because this is, this is your chance. This is your time to shine. Baby, it is all about you.

Speaker 2:

This is you, your spotlight. Well, yeah, and even if you don't have a bridal party, still invite your closest friends. Same thing as any bachelor party Go for the weekend, just go, have fun and enjoy it and celebrate your soon-to-be wifey era. Okay, I'm going to go next. You guys sent in some really good ones. I'm going to go next. You guys sent in some really good ones. Ooh, are the bridesmaids' friends on the bachelorette?

Speaker 1:

party expected to pay for the bride's expenses. What do you think? That is a fascinating one.

Speaker 2:

That's a good one, because that's so true, though, because you think when you're going, actually you say what you think first I'm interested.

Speaker 1:

I think that everybody should be responsible for their way of the trip. Um, so it doesn't fall on one person. It definitely shouldn't fall on the bride. God, no, um, if it is something that everybody can distribute evenly, um, and the bride wants to pitch in a little bit. Um, just because of the economy we're in this and everything's so expensive Also.

Speaker 2:

I don't have a good tip too, once you're done.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I don't know if I would ask my people to pay for me. Like to pay my way? I think I would want to pay my way as the bride.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think of course, when you're going on the bachelorette party, you should pay for your stay. Of course, everyone should equally pay for that. When it comes to going out, you know that's the whole point. You're going out, you go to bars, go to dinners. I don't feel like I expected every time for everyone to like pay for me and or obviously with a joint one. So me and my you know now husband. But I think it's fair to you should spoil the bride and groom Like it's their time. And especially if you have like a big group like, hey, you get this bar, hey. Like I'll buy this round of shots, hey.

Speaker 1:

And then even it's just like when you go, when your friends take you out for your birthday, you don't pay for your own birthday dinner.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly, everybody else covers the cost of your birthday dinner and drinks and then the biggest tip I have for and some people don't like doing this use that Venmo account, baby, Post it on Instagram, post it on Facebook, write it on the cars. I think I got $200 that weekend. So then we would go to a bar and I'd be like, okay, I'll get this round and I use that money. That's so fun, you know. Yeah, so if you're looking and I'm not saying to do it to like ask for money and stuff, but also there's people who aren't invited to your bachelor bachelorette party, who probably want to celebrate you too, you know, Cause I mean not everyone's, it's not like everyone from the wedding is invited to the bachelorette party. So you know, I had girlfriends send me five $10, you know, shot on me, have a great bachelorette party. So it's a little hack if you want to maybe save some money.

Speaker 2:

Or even if you guys go to dinner and be like oh, I have, you know the $200, like I'll get the whole you know round of drinks for everyone.

Speaker 1:

So I love that, like that tip okay, I have me here, you know no, no, I have one um, but I just, I just remember something really funny. So, all right, are you ready? I'm so ready. I think that this is a very important question because everybody is asking, so I'm going to kind of combine some of these questions.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

What are some fun things you can do on a budget? What is a reasonable budget to ask bridesmaids or friends to spend on the batch party? How do you make a local batch party more fun? What are some inexpensive destinations? A lot of people are asking about how to have a good batch party on a budget. Does that make?

Speaker 2:

you nervy? No, it doesn't, because I totally agree. You're already paying for so much with the wedding costs, x, y, z. I was kind of like it's my bachelorette party and I'm going to spend the money. But I think also, having a good bachelorette party doesn't always have to do with the destination or where you're at, it's the people you have with you. Yeah, does that make sense? Yep, I feel like you know, even if you rented an Airbnb for one day and, just like everyone, come early, we'll have a pool day, stay the night and that will be it. You know, cause what used to be, I feel like the old term, is like just the one night, people would have bachelorette parties, right, or like the night before the wedding.

Speaker 1:

Just because I'm like five minutes older than you doesn't mean that I know the old ways.

Speaker 2:

I didn't say that I'm like so I know you're old as fuck. No, I'm just kidding, I'm not that old. No, I'm just kidding, but I don't know what they did in the old days. Well, like the hangover, isn't that like the whole concept of the thing? They like did the bachel. It was like one night, right, it wasn't. Now, as a society we've turned it into it needs to be a whole weekend trip, which I don't think it used to be. I think it used to just be the one night and you would go All right.

Speaker 1:

Whatever, I don't know, I'm still thinking about you calling me old. You're not old. No, it's fine. Okay, I'll be old. I'll super salty. We should take another shot. I'm down, okay. Okay, just to spice it up Just because you called me old, I didn't call you old.

Speaker 2:

Can I have more orange juice though?

Speaker 1:

Oh, like, do a little mixed concoction. Well, no, I just want orange juice to chase it. Oh, okay, but you gave me like an ounce and a half of orange juice.

Speaker 2:

You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying, like pour it in the shot glass and then pour the vodka in there, so we're drinking mimosas and yeah, and then pour the vodka in there. It's so cute.

Speaker 1:

It's so tiny. So you're mixing yours.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm already pre-mixing it. I'm having a screwdriver shot. Okay, that's what. I'm having a screwdriver shot.

Speaker 1:

I want to be like Grace when I get young. I'm almost 30, so I'm not that young either. Okay, okay, go, kylie, go. Damn, mine's really full. Oh my God, kelsey, all right, ready, cheers.

Speaker 2:

Cheers, babe, don't worry about it. Oh my gosh, I'm scared.

Speaker 1:

It's like dangerously, oh gosh, are you one hit you? Oh my gosh. Yeah, I just don't usually drink vodka at 10 am, so we're not supposed to tell the listeners, I mean, it's five o'clock but also you can't who.

Speaker 2:

I think it's actually like like criminal to drink a mimosa at night. I feel like that feels like illegal you you know what I mean yeah.

Speaker 1:

My blanket needs to fill up. Do you want me?

Speaker 2:

to fill up your your your glass?

Speaker 1:

Sure, okay, I have to get rid of my blanket.

Speaker 2:

I need to read. I was surprised you had it, cause I'm like alcohol makes me sweat, I know.

Speaker 1:

So anybody else I have to reposition myself in this podcast chair. I'm already tipsy. Okay, back to these questions. I agree, I think Airbnbs make complete sense. Yes, I think you can go somewhere really cute. I totally agree. Are you going to even add orange juice, or are you just drinking champagne?

Speaker 2:

Okay, I'm a mimosa with a syringe of orange juice.

Speaker 1:

I think that you can do really cute batch parties at Airbnbs. You can stay local. Stop freaking. Pouring the champagne, grace, bottoms up, I feel. So, yeah, I feel. Thank you to all of our Spotify and Apple podcasts that listen to this and don't watch this on YouTube, because they have no idea the shindigs that take place in this studio.

Speaker 2:

They're crazy. Okay, what were we talking about Are we doing another question. Welcome to the podcast. I know I forgot we were here. I forgot we've arrived. Okay, Wait, do you have any crazy horror stories or anything?

Speaker 1:

I actually do. Okay, let's hear it. Hold on, I have to pull them up, though.

Speaker 2:

So you're going to have to entertain the crowd for I know a hot second. Okay, I'll do like a quick, a quick question that someone sent in. Um, let me see, do, do, do. Oh, I like this one. Ideas for a smaller party non-drinkers which is not us, but no, I love that, though no, I do. And mocktails have gotten so big now I think Ketamine therapy. Okay, I'm being so dead ass. What is that?

Speaker 1:

Ketamine. Like what is that? It's a horse tranquilizer, tranquilizer.

Speaker 2:

Oh, so it makes you like loopy. That's why they like fall asleep.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like it's too high. I once had a wedding and my people they were.

Speaker 2:

It was a I can't believe I was saying this Wait what?

Speaker 1:

The first time I learned about ketamine was at one of my weddings Okay, and the groomsmen were doing it in the bathroom. Can you inject it, or what is it, are you? Sniffing you can snort it, you can swallow it.

Speaker 2:

You can inject it.

Speaker 1:

Oh, they're like let's just go do crack. No, but I they were like they're doing ketamine and I'm like what's what's ketamine? And I had to Google it and per Google, ketamine's a horse tranquilizer but I guess it gets you high and so I don't know Um.

Speaker 2:

But back to the question. Um, the question was okay. Ideas for smaller party non-drinkers. Mocktails have gotten so big. I think the same thing Do. If I was doing non like mocktails, I would again rent an Airbnb for the weekend and hire a bartender that specializes in mocktails. I agree a thousand percent. I think that would be so cute. That way you're still by the pool or you're doing whatever, and I mean, of course, you can go out to eat and stuff and like you don't have to drink at, like you know, dinner or breakfast, whatever you're doing. But I think that'd be fun. A lot of bartenders now offer really good mocktail options.

Speaker 1:

So I don't think you have to get drunk to have a good time.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

No, I like actually mean that like, I'm super. No, I'm being so serious, I'm for sober life, I'm for sobriety. It's gonna be a while for me yeah, you're not there, um but I think that you can have a really good time and still make great memories.

Speaker 2:

You can still go to Chippendales actually, how do you feel about that? I'm about to wrap parties like doing strip clubs.

Speaker 1:

We talk about this every you've already been mad with my answer.

Speaker 2:

That's because I'm super against it.

Speaker 1:

I don't think there's anything wrong with a batch. I don't think there's anything wrong with going to a strip club. Okay.

Speaker 2:

I think it's the older generation, it's a all right. Well, I'm just saying like I know yeah For a one night. For one night, let's go to Chippendales. Baby, let's go to Vegas.

Speaker 1:

Our next podcast episode is going to be in Vegas at the Chippendales Actually only the old person's going to be attending, cause you're against them, I know. Yeah, I'll just like sit outside. I do think they're like gross. I'll just like sit outside. I do think they're like gross. She's like.

Speaker 2:

I'm disgusted but I do like I don't think they're, or like with literally, oh my gosh, in secret lives when they're at that burlesque and Layla literally smokes a joint that was in the lady's vagina. She's an idiot.

Speaker 1:

Do you remember that? Yeah, that I gagged.

Speaker 2:

I literally threw up Okay, Kelsey, I think we're ready to announce our giveaway winner.

Speaker 1:

I want to hear it all. Okay, here is a bachelorette horror story. A friend of mine went to a bachelorette party and the maid of honor got super drunk, told the bride that she hated the groom and thought he was a terrible person. Turns out that the maid of honor had tried to hook up with the groom a few years back and he turned her down, or something like that, I guess the maid of honor kept saying I don't know why he would pick you over me.

Speaker 2:

Girl. That story just kept getting worse and worse.

Speaker 1:

I feel like at that point I'd probably punch the maid actually. No, that's a lie, I wouldn't. You wouldn't punch them. No, because the maid of honor in my first failed your 10 weddings okay, I've had grace. The, my maid of honor from my failed engagement, married him.

Speaker 2:

Wait, why did I not know this Did?

Speaker 1:

you tell me this my childhood best friend married my baby daddy what a bitch. And she was also the maid of honor in our wedding.

Speaker 2:

That like gets me mad for you.

Speaker 1:

At least I know that my kids have an amazing stepmom. I'm so weak, all right. Next one At one of my best friend's bachelorette parties, four of the eight women cheated on their boyfriends. They cheated. The cheating range from making out in plain view of the rest of us to hooking up with a random guy in the hotel room. One of the girls who cheated cheated was the maid of honor. Needless to say, the bride was having a panic attack in the lobby of our hotel room. It was an awful experience. Oh, but wait my favorite one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, okay, your favorite. Oh, where the heck did it go? I can't find it, frick. I was so excited. So one of the. So the bride got super drunk. She tried to get on a vest. Oh the vest. She tried to get on a vest. She's like bye with this, like 65 year old man. He didn't let her on. So she ran into the street and started dancing and a sober bridesmaid had to pull her out of the street. Oh, good thing she didn't get hit?

Speaker 2:

are you like one of those drunks that like run away when you like get super drunk.

Speaker 1:

No, like you know, there's like, there's always like no, I'm like an attachment drunk, I like know that I'm gonna go missing, like so I'm like I need it. Yeah, I'm gonna like please don't leave me.

Speaker 2:

I can't think straight.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god no, I'll die. All right, I think we've covered really good bachelorette party stuff today I, I know If you're going to a bachelorette party.
