Hey Queens, welcome back to another episode of the Daily Buzz. So Kelsey and I went to a fun event called the AZ Bride Gala of 2025 the other week and we wanted to talk about our experience we had while we were there.
Speaker 2:Yes, I'm so excited and the truth is Grace, this was hosted at the Arizona or, I'm sorry, at the Scottsdale Resort and Spa, and I did a gorgeous, gorgeous, like and. I did a gorgeous, gorgeous like almost $200,000 wedding there last November. So it was so exciting to go back to our old stomping grounds that I know way too well, because they picked the perfect host. So where do you want to start?
Speaker 1:Well, let's start off with a theme. Okay Was sky, the sky's the limit, which I loved because I feel like that's so good with the whole wedding culture, because it's just endless. There's so many things that can be done. And so, since it was sky is the limit, the color theme was blue and I I didn't even realize that I already had a dress that I was just going to re-wear and it was all sparkly and blue, yeah. And then I got there and I said, oh, I didn't realize that this was the theme, but I just matched perfect.
Speaker 2:That is so funny because when I picked out my dress, I actually went shopping for my dress and I kept saying I want to make sure that my dress represents the venue that I stand behind and that I rep so near and dear to my heart. And so when I picked out my dress, I wanted the different tones of the sky blue that we see in Arizona. We get cotton candy skies. Here. There's the pink to light blue to dark, deep blue.
Speaker 2:But one of the things that I absolutely love about the wedding venue that I'm at is that we see the stars at night because we are far enough away from the Phoenix. Yeah, all the lights, that's true. We are far enough away from Phoenix that we see like stars in at the venue. Just, I will always be in awe of our stars, so that is why my dress was so sparkly. It did, I don't even know cubic sarconium, is that what? Like fake diamond?
Speaker 2:I think so. I don't even know. I don't know either so fake diamond shoes and earrings and necklace just to bring that sparkle that we see you did have a lot of silver sparkle.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's why that was my shoes killed me.
Speaker 2:I need to get new shoes um, I am so ghetto, I totally threw flip-flops in my purse, remember? I showed you you.
Speaker 1:I know I should have done that. I threw my flip-flops. We could have stayed longer. We did leave a little early because my feet were hurting so bad.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and I was like, no, I have my flip-flops on, I'm totally good. Kelsey was ready to like get down and dirty. Oh, I was like, please, grace, one more song.
Speaker 1:She was trying to hit the dance floor and I was like my feet are 86.
Speaker 2:I was done. Yep, my guilty pleasure is dancing. I absolutely love to dance, which I do too.
Speaker 1:I just didn't have the proper footwear. Just take your shoes off.
Speaker 2:We weren't in the middle of like.
Speaker 1:I did take them off for a second and then I was like I'm ready to go. Yeah, it's so fun, but it was super cute. The whole amb dissolves as soon as it gets but they had sparkles inside. Yeah, exactly, it was like a sparkly cotton candy and it just made the whole drink come together and they had this beautiful drapery and the bar set up and they had a pasta station was that was actually delicious. My drunk self needed it was pasta and they had an open bar they did have an open bar so grace brought me a spicy margarita and I was like I thought you knew me better than this.
Speaker 1:I really thought you would eat a drink, or eat drink spicy margarita. I don't like spicy, but we drink margaritas together, so I think that's what I thought.
Speaker 2:Okay, so you know, I like tequila, but the spicy.
Speaker 1:I think I just didn't know you didn't like spice.
Speaker 2:No, I just I mean if alcohol is already kind of hot down the throat, why do I want to add jalapenos to it? I know that I am married to a Hispanic and you would think that I love all things spicy. I like my salsa spicy. My man is spicy enough. I don't need spicy in my alcohol. But it's okay, love you still, I know, and clearly I drank the whole thing. You did Many things after that. After one drink I was like, oh, kelsey's Feeling it. Yeah, we met so many cool vendors. Yes, got to reconnect with so many photographers, videographers that we've worked with in the past.
Speaker 2:There's so many people there Dashing Spirits, who was on the podcast a few weeks ago? Chance, we got to hang with her. That was so fun. Who else did we see Chelsea from BTO?
Speaker 1:Yes, who was on the podcast too? She's glowing, she on the podcast too, she's glowing, she's pregnant and she looks beautiful. I know she looks stunning. I was like you look gorgeous. Yeah, I want to look like that when I'm pregnant. I know she's so beautiful, so beautiful.
Speaker 2:It's been so fun because I've known her since before she had kids, and so to watch her just evolve into motherhood has been it's just.
Speaker 1:It's been a dream.
Speaker 2:It's been so cool so.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we. So we did cocktail hour. We got early access, that's why we had a few drinks.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it was open bar for cocktail hour.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and then they had the reception and they, of course you know, announced all the awards and it was beautiful. And then after is when things got a little crazy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, I don't know um well, it was one of those. I don't even know what happened between. I think it was an out-of-body experience. Yeah, because we walked out of the award show, like five minutes, and then somehow I'm facetiming my husband going. I'm so sorry, I'm getting another tattoo. Yep, yeah, that's how that.
Speaker 1:Kelsey and I got matching tattoos. We did so. We're bonded for life we are yeah can't get rid of us. We're two in one deal yeah, they had um a bunch of vendors there. They had, um, I think, an aura reader, yeah. And then we turned around and saw the tattoos and we instantly gravitated and somehow, within five minutes of walking up to the booth, we were both laying down and getting tattoos.
Speaker 2:Yeah, pretty much, so I don't know how it happened. It was just very quick, I guess we signed a consent waiver. You filled it out. I mean thank goodness you hit that QR code baby. Thank you, apple, for keeping all of my information on file. I guess, because that's how that happened. Then we went in for the after party, oh my. Then we went in for the after party. Oh my gosh, did you eat the tacos? Yes, I.
Speaker 2:So I woke up the next day and all I could think about were those damn tacos and that I wanted more.
Speaker 1:They had a late night snack of tacos, I think. They had like a dessert bar too, but it was. The line was very big and then they had a dancer with a disco ball on her head. On her head yeah, it was insane. And they had a whole dance floor and it was and listen.
Speaker 2:Can I just be honest real quick what I absolutely love? Those led dance floors with the glass underneath yeah.
Speaker 2:I noticed, um, I was, I okay, there was a wedding that had the led glass floors and if you were not wearing the proper dress, like long to the ankles, it reflects. And I noticed it because I was in a short dress and I looked down and I was like, oh, these floors reflect and we'll look completely up your dress. So, oh my gosh, I would have never thought of that. Luckily that night we were in long dresses and it was dark.
Speaker 1:Everyone had long dresses.
Speaker 2:I kind of have some opinion on the glass mirrored dance floors. If you are not in the correct attire, yeah that's not good.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, well, we had a great time and it was so fun, and hopefully we will be back again next year.
Speaker 2:Maybe we'll get another tattoo. Kelsey is running out of space on her body for tattoos. The real estate here is pretty low, so but it was a wonderful night. We are so thankful that we got to go. We got to represent the wedding hive. We got to talk to so many incredible vendors who, I mean, would be great for everybody to work with in the future.
