Hey queens, welcome back to another episode of the Daily Buzz. Today I am here with Molly from Love Story Films. Thank you for being here. Thanks for having me. I am fascinated to ask you there has been a pretty male dominance in the wedding videography industry and we are starting to see more women come into that. Can you speak into what your thoughts are, why that might be yes?
Speaker 2:Well, I think that, historically, when we kind of look at the way that social media has kind of transpired and grown over the last goodness or even over the last five years, we see that most influencers are women.
Speaker 2:Women really dominate that field and I think it's allowing a lot more room for women to kind of segue into pursuing their passions for cinematography picking up a camera, really going to school or expanding upon just TikToks and wanting to create cinematic films now. So it's definitely a welcome space and I think that, in terms of capturing a wedding, a lot of the vendors that we do work with are female and when you think about the planners that are involved, a lot of the photographers are female. It really lends that feminine perspective that when you're capturing the feminine form, I think women see women in such a different way and manner that it really allows this beautiful um story to like transpire from their lens and their perspective, where sometimes I mean not saying all men, but sometimes men don't quite understand that I mean I know, um, sometimes you get back, uh, behind the scenes and I'm like wait what?
Speaker 1:What was?
Speaker 2:that you know men just tend to capture. You know clients in a different manner, which is totally okay, but it is definitely a welcome space to see that women are coming into this. Male dominated field?
Speaker 1:Yeah, absolutely Do you have any tips for videographers interested in getting into the wedding industry?
Speaker 2:Yes, I think education and knowledge is number one. If you have somebody that you idolize or look up to reach out, see if you can do a mentorship, really get the legwork going in terms of kind of understanding where you want to go, the type of art you want to create, and really like lean on those that kind of resemble the craft that you're going after. From there, I think, really understanding the legality side of it. So making sure you get your LLC established, trademarks, your business in full running operation mode, because what I've seen happen in the past is people don't pay taxes, they don't establish an LLC, they don't have insurance to show up to a wedding day.
Speaker 1:Can't skip those things. Those are all so important, very, very important. They're boring, but they're important.
Speaker 2:I know it's like you don't want to do it, but you really really should and, especially as your business and your brand grows, really, really looking back and making sure you have all your bases covered.
Speaker 1:Well, thank you, molly, for answering those, and that is your Daily Buzz.
