Wedding Horror Stories Introduction
Speaker 1Hey Queens, it's Kelsey and Grace back with the Wedding Hive.
Speaker 2Giving you the tea and all the buzz in the wedding world. Let's jump right in. Hey Queens, welcome back to another episode of the Wedding Hive podcast. So today we thought it would be fun, as big as social media has gotten, to talk about wedding horror stories. We have quite a few that have been sent in and ones that we found as well that we are going to dive into. So, kelsey, do you want to start us with your first wedding horror story?
The Pregnant Side Piece Shocker
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm so nervous, are so sad, but it happens more often than we want to admit or think what happened first one grooms pregnant side piece showed up at the reception wait, the grooms pregnant side piece.
Speaker 2Okay, wait, wait, wait. That's all I have, that's all. That's all. That's all they said. No, I know, but I'm just curious if she's pregnant that's nine months how long does it take you to plan a wedding? Did he so? Then he cheated on. Do you see what I'm saying? Yeah, unless like, and even the time frame, like to like, did you meet someone and then get engaged to them and then Like, did she? No girl you should have ran for the hills.
Speaker 1Did she have like a little bump? Did she just show up and was like I'm not drinking because I'm pregnant, or was she like this baby's about to start crowning?
Speaker 2Or maybe no, I took it too far, not too far. I'm thinking that like wait, no, because pregnant side piece means that it was like it's his baby. Then right. Yeah, what the fuck. That would be horrible. I would one be like traumatized too. I would have never been, even I would have not what Like made it to the wedding day. What do you mean If I was engaged to someone planning a wedding and then I found out he cheated on me and got?
Speaker 1someone pregnant. The wedding would be called off. Why would you still get married? I'm sorry, oh my god, I'm flabbergasted by that.
Speaker 2Yeah, I have no words. Am I going or are you going go ahead? This one actually kind of spooks me. My mother-in-law cried into my husband's arms, yelling are you sure you want to do this? That is giving toxic mother-in-law.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's actually interesting. So only because my next one backs that one up. Okay, let's hear it too. My wedding groom and mom dance. My mother-in-law fell to the floor screaming. She stole my son. We divorced nine years later. His mother was toxic Bro.
Speaker 2It's so crazy because I don't know about your opinion. I feel like we kind of have the same opinion on this and we've talked about, you know, so many different things that go into marriage. I don't even know if I could like marry someone if I didn't like their family. I'm not saying you have to love everyone, but like if they're toxic, if they're, you know, it's like you see, like the video, like making side comments about you or like always shitting on you, like if they were that to me, I don't think I could, as much as I maybe would love someone.
Speaker 1I don't know if I could marry them I think if they are toxic, the significant other who is like the direct family member has to cut them out. Yeah, like for a healthy relationship to work, or there needs to be like a good, good boundary like very good boundary.
Speaker 2If you're still choosing to stay in contact with them or whatever, I think that's fine, but there would have to be a very healthy boundary of you know either, maybe, how much time you spend with them, either pre you know, talking to whatever family member, like, hey, we're coming over, we're not going to be stirring the pot, or talking about xyz, or you know, I think otherwise and we've.
Speaker 1I mean and we've brought it up my mother-in-law did not like me, um, and so she would make side comments and my husband said she's my wife, she's the mother of my children. I'm happy, we're in a healthy marriage and so you're out mom. Yeah, and they didn't. We did not have a relationship for a very, very long time and until she said I want this relationship to work, and we worked out. We have an incredible relationship now, but we cut her out. He cut her out because she just did not like me. Yeah, and. But going back to this mother-in-law and I try to see it from like this is so bad. But I have five sons and the last thing I ever want to be is one of these moms. I love my boys, I. It's so weird to think that some girl is going to come in and swipe them off like their feet and they're going to get married and move on one day. But that's what it's supposed to be. That's the circle of life.
Speaker 2That means I have done my job.
Family Dynamics and Wedding Signs
Speaker 1I hope and I pray that my kids have phenomenal wives Like I. I pray so hard for them to have these late girl. You know these women come in in their future and we have an amazing relationship and they will be the mother to my grandchildren.
Speaker 2But to say she stole him like that mommy you need to go to counseling, not the mom and dad, the mom and son relationships, where they're too like. I mean, we've all seen the videos, you know, on TikToks and Instagram and they're just too close and it's just, it's creepy, it's weird, it's honestly like inappropriate it gives off like uh, I don't even know, I'm not going to say it, I'm not going to say it, but it gives off some ick vibes.
Speaker 2Oh, 100%. I would not be able to do that if that was my in-law situation personally. Okay, should we move on to the next story? Yes, are you going, or me Go for it? Okay, at my dad's second wedding, my sister passed out as soon as my dad was about to put the ring on my stepmom's finger. They got divorced three years later and I believe it was a sign could you imagine?
Speaker 1oh my gosh, I bet the stepmom was so mad oh, I'm sure she's like she probably blamed it.
Speaker 2Yeah, yep she, she took that thousand percent. Probably was like she did that on purpose.
Speaker 1Yeah, she's fine, she's not even overheated.
Speaker 2How dare she. I know, how would you feel when it comes to family dynamics? Say, your parents get divorced, whatever you're down the road, and then your dad marries a new woman, or mom marries a new guy, or X, y, z, whatever. How would you feel if you didn't get along with them? The significant other yeah like the new significant other. How would that?
Speaker 1feel, I think it's.
Speaker 2You can make it work, especially if you're older and not in the house anymore.
Speaker 1That's what I was going to say is it's really hard because when there's like kiddos involved and they're being raised, there has to be a level of respect, authority, like there has to be some give and take in that relationship, because kids, they need those strong role models. So, as a kiddo and a step parent is coming in, they're not, you know, however those dynamics look, they're not replacing the parent. Hopefully they're. Both parents are still very involved in the child's life, um. But to be a strong male or female role model in that kiddo's life, um, as adults I mean, it would be really difficult because it's an adult relationship and hopefully you can still manage and maintain the relationship you have with your parents, um, and that person not interfere for some reason sorry I didn't interrupt you.
Speaker 2All that popped in my head right now was stepbrothers. When they're like oh, I'm not gonna call him dad, you're 39 years old, brennan.
Speaker 1Sorry, I just thought of that because that made me laugh. That movie is hilarious, that movie is like the best.
Speaker 2He better not talk to me. I'm going to run Two turns to my drum set. I love that movie. It's so good, do you?
Speaker 1have another one.
Speaker 2Well, are you going to go? It's your turn.
The Texting Groom and No-Dinner Disaster
Speaker 1Oh, it's my turn. Bride caught the groom texting his ex during the reception. She grabbed the mic, exposed everything, called off the wedding on the spot and left in her gown with her maid of honor. Well, the DJ played single ladies. Stop, okay. Honestly, that's a savage move.
Speaker 2I'm for it. Honestly iconic, I mean that obviously, that situation I'm so sorry that happened that you planned your wedding and you were on your wedding day. But I mean kind of good, because like you can get your marriage no the marriage license, not even in the system yet.
Speaker 1So you're good. So at least you caught it that day.
Speaker 2It's like yeah, it's like it cancels out, yeah. So yeah, I'm like sucks that that happened. It's a lot of money On your wedding day, yeah, and then your money, I would. I feel like I would like sue someone. I feel like I would sue them. I'd be like bitch, you better pay me all this money back for this wedding we just spent on to cheat on me and text your ex on my on our wedding day. I don't know, I don't know. Do you think?
Speaker 1that's possible. No, I don't think I think you could.
Speaker 2I don't think I think I think if you got a good girl judge like you could, you could get something I don't know.
Speaker 1I think. I think that would be a very difficult um situation to legal battle. Like you, you would have to have enough not evidence, but you would have to have enough not evidence, but you would have to have enough of a case. I don't know Like emotional damage is in financial. I don't know.
Speaker 2It's getting financial and emotional damage.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out how you would like how that would go down.
Speaker 2No, literally. So Okay, Next one I went to a wedding once where no dinner was served what Only apps. But there was a full bar. Everyone got wasted and hangry. That's trouble. That's a bad combo.
Speaker 1You don't do that, that's not good. Whoever decided that did a terrible job and should find a different career path, a different planner or something, because that is a recipe for disaster.
Speaker 2You have to feed your guests when you're downing them with alcohol like, let's be real, no one wants to pay for catering because we all know it's very expensive, but you have to like it. And also I'm just confused. Like the bride and groom didn't even want to eat dinner. Like, yeah, I know I didn't actually eat my wedding food well, that's a different subject for a different day but still like nothing, it doesn't make sense. That would be mind-blowing to me. Truly, that's not happening. That's not nice. Yeah, please feed your guests.
The Unexpected Thropple Revelation
Speaker 1Okay, both of my groomsmen had dated my younger sister years ago. The three of them ended up in bed together on our wedding night. We didn't know until we got back from our honeymoon. Plot twist, they are now a thropple and it's been almost two years what my groom both of my groomsmen dated my younger sister.
Speaker 2So she's just like banging them both and they're just like chilling. I mean, right, is that like a thropple, like they, just like it's an open relationship, kind of like go go, you queen, I don't, I don't know you got.
Speaker 1you got both your brothers, two of your brothers, groomsmen.
Speaker 2I guess, how do you keep up with that? Who do you like take to the Christmas? I think both of them, I guess both. Or maybe like one gets each.
Speaker 1I mean maybe like maybe it is panning out because maybe one of them, like, does the cooking and the cleaning and the other one is like making money. Yeah, it could work out for her Like I'm too jelly to have a sister wife, but man it would be so nice if somebody like it would be really cool to have somebody like cook and clean and do the laundry, but like I guess that's why you hire housekeepers. Oh yeah, because she, she, doesn't get him that's.
Speaker 2That's insane actually. But I mean, you know what? Pop off queen. I love that for you okay, you put in work.
Speaker 1I know that sounds painful.
Speaker 2I was gonna say I was my, I'd be hurting All day, every day, all day, every day. Okay, do you have any more?
Speaker 1Nope that was my last one.
Speaker 2Okay, me too. I didn't have any more. Okay, well, queens, hopefully you enjoyed that, yeah, this episode of these horror stories. If you guys have more, please feel free to send them in and catch our next episode and next week. We'll see you later, queens, bye.
