SPEAKER_01

Hey queens, welcome back to another episode of the Wedding Hive Podcast. Today, Kelsey and I are going to be talking about peak wedding seasons over here in the USA.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like we need to have like Miley Cyrus party in the USA. Can we get that?

SPEAKER_01

Can we get that played out of the producer?

SPEAKER_00

I think we asked enough of the producer, but yeah, I get some party in the USA.

SPEAKER_01

That song will always be a banger every time I hear it, especially like during the summer, 4th of July. Hey, so do you hear that? And the USA, sorry, I have to interrupt. USA just won the gold for hockey this weekend. I don't know if you saw that.

SPEAKER_00

Um, definitely have watched it all over social media.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, good.

SPEAKER_00

Because the men's team was invited to the White House.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's insane.

SPEAKER_00

The women's team is a little salty. Oh, really? Yeah, because they weren't invited to the White House. Did they get gold? Well, no, they did.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

The women's did, but they didn't get invited. And the president like kind of made a joke like, I think I need to invite the it's like a whole drama thing. Whatever. Texas, what? Why aren't they? What is that? I don't know. But USA killed it in the Olympics.

SPEAKER_01

They're doing good, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So it's over now. I know.

SPEAKER_01

I was saying, like, or sorry, they did good. Okay. I feel like. They did. Sorry, that's what I meant to say. They did a really great job.

SPEAKER_00

Just as we were singing party in the USA, did you hear the jets fly over?

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_00

It just It's like the sound of freedom.

SPEAKER_01

Just the sound of freedom. Just like, I just love it.

SPEAKER_00

So today we are talking all about the uh peak seasons in the United States. And if we miss any of your states, don't come after us.

SPEAKER_01

Please don't.

SPEAKER_00

We have done lots of research on these information.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. I do want to talk about though before we hop into it. So me and Kelsey are big fans of Tell Me Lies and the seas actually series finale just happened last week, right?

SPEAKER_00

Which I am salty about because you That was crazy. No, not even that. I'm salty because you got me hooked on this show. I know. You said you have to watch it. We had guests come on and say that I had to watch it. So I feel like I gave it my time. You did. I got into it. We're in season three. I want way more answers. And then, like two days before the series finale drops, they say, Yeah, this is the end of it.

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_00

Like I feel like it was too fast of a relationship for me. I needed more.

SPEAKER_01

I know. You just you didn't have enough time with it.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't.

Tell Me Lies Finale And Wedding Cost Shock

SPEAKER_01

I know. The one thing that I was I feel like is nice though is that you only had to wait for a few episodes because you were able to just like watch it through. I agree.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I could have emotionally handled this long drive. Like, yes. So the the finale, how did you feel? What do you think?

SPEAKER_01

I actually really liked it. As upset as I was that this was the series finale, I think they ended it perfectly. Um, you I feel like get all the loose ends cut. Obviously, there's some stuff that like isn't answered, but I think that's fine. You know, I think my favorite part is just what Steven does at the wedding and just mic drops, exposes everyone. And even though I want to hate his character, I did love his character in that moment. So I'm like, you know what? Everyone just needs to know the truth. Wrigley and Bree need to be together. I need Lucy to know that Bree's the one that released the tape, and everyone found everything out. So I liked it.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was amazing. I thought it was good. And then for them to play Toxic. Oh my gosh. Just the vibes. Like the vibes. I was like, I'm here for it. I know I love everything about this moment. Yeah. Um, my husband didn't watch Tell Me Lies. He thought it was dumb, and he's like, this is a girl show. Usually I can get him hooked on the chick flicks. This one I wasn't able to, and that's fine because it can be my show. But I was like, you have to watch this like three-minute closer. So we watched the last three minutes, and he was like, I can't believe I didn't watch this show with you. Dude. Like, what just happened?

SPEAKER_01

The ending with Steven leaving Lucy at the gas station. It's so funny because I saw these TikToks people being like, um, you know, the perfect way to just end the show is to like just kill off Steven because just like because he just keeps getting away with everything, and everyone's like, We're freaking over it. So I, the whole time, I'm not joking, when she was in the gas station, because it looked like a little musty gas station, and I was like, is the gas pump gonna like explode and he's gonna die? And she's just gonna be like, no, well, my that problem's solved.

SPEAKER_00

But you have you gotten out of the state of Arizona much? I know, yes or no? I mean, kind of, yeah, I guess. Because that's exactly what gas stations look like back home.

SPEAKER_01

You're right. On the road trip to Cali, some of them look like that. And like the I know, but still, I just I was thinking, I was like, dang, maybe they're gonna kill him off. And then they they didn't. But I did read that Diana said to Lucy to let Steven let you go. He has to think that he won. So some people were saying like she did that because she thought he was going to screw her or like screw her over again. And now she's like, okay, he thinks he's won, he's finally out of my life, and it's done. So I kind of like that theory of like maybe she was kind of planning it so she could finally be like rid of him. Yeah. Because we don't see what Brie and Lucy talked about because she said, if you walk out that door, you know, I can't help you anymore, you know.

SPEAKER_00

So maybe they had a good combo and that was her plan, but I'm very Would you still be friends with Brie if you were Lucy and found out that she's the one that released the tape?

SPEAKER_01

Uh I don't, I don't know. I think I would be able to just because when she finally finds out it's been years and years and years later, and she also obviously slept with Evan, thought that she didn't know this whole time. So, like, she did some messed up stuff too. Um, I think what Bree did is worse than what Lucy did. Maybe that's yeah. I mean, that's like life ruining essentially. So um I don't know. I don't think I could, but I could also see myself being like, it was so long ago, and now you know my secret. So like let's call it even, I guess, and just move on. But I think that'd be tough. Because it's pretty messed up.

SPEAKER_00

You posted on TikTok a few weeks back of like, or maybe it was in a text message we were going back and forth. I don't know. But you were said, like, do these people not have anybody else in their lives? Like, do they not know that other people exist in this world? Why are these humans' friends? I like felt relief. I'm like, oh thank god, they're all finally leaving each other. It's done. Everybody separate and move on with your lives. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But the big thing, of course, another main reason why we're talking about this, not only was this show so great, but we are just mind blown, obviously, being a wedding podcast, how expensive that wedding probably was. And then to essentially probably really they're breaking up because he finds out they've been cheating. So, how much, how much do you think that wedding would cost in real life?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I think it depends on the region of like where where were they located? It was the upper east coast, right? I think so, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know why I cannot think of what school there you were at.

SPEAKER_00

Um I think I it was obviously expensive, but because it was done in a ballroom, yeah, um, you can they probably spent a lot of money to transform it, obviously, as you can see with the hanging florals and all of the drapery.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

It was probably between like$200,000 and$400,000. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, yeah, like my mind was like it definitely at least like$200,000, probably more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Could you imagine spending that much money on a wedding and then it being over like right then and there?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I mean, depends on how they're gonna be.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I guess it doesn't matter because Evan's parents essentially are very rich.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

From what there's been told, and we've seen through the seasons is his family's very wealthy. So maybe it could be Trump change to them, but I can't.

SPEAKER_00

I bet Brie signed a prenup and even they got the marriage annulled. So it disappears from the court systems. Yeah.

Why Peak Seasons Matter

SPEAKER_01

So geez. Yes. What a what a great series finale. And I loved that we finally got to see what happened with the whole wedding situation. Just perfect. I love that. Yes. So okay, now we're gonna get into the actual episode and why you guys are here to listen to us talk. Um, so we want to talk about peak wedding seasons. Um, if most of you guys do not know, we are located here in the beautiful sunny Arizona. Um, so we're gonna talk about um this the southwest region. So Nevada, New Mexico, Southern California. Um, peak seasons definitely here are like April or October to April. Yep. I feel like even sometimes it's still kind of warm in October. I feel like it differs. And even right now, um, it's supposed to be in the 90s this week and it's February. I'm so excited. I'm so excited. I'm so happy because I love summer and I'm ready and I went, I laid out yesterday and got my tan on. So I'm excited for that. But um, it does get warm here really quick. I think the other state, I don't know, New Mexico, southern Cali, I feel like maybe not as much, but um, you know, if you think about it, it's peak season because mild temperatures, definitely winter destination weddings because especially if you're doing outdoor wedding, you can't have it in the Midwest because it's freezing, it's snowing. Um, snowbirds, which we get a lot of.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

Southwest Timing: Arizona And Neighbors

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait till they leave. I'm so sorry, but it makes for horrific traffic here and it's crazy. Um, tourism, at least here in Arizona, we have um spring training too, which I already went to my first game of the season the Sunday, and it was so much fun. Um, off peak season, of course, is gonna be June through September. Um, 105 degree heat. Um, but you can think that vendors might be discounting heavily. Um, definitely indoor venue is required. Um, if you think about it too, outdoor ceremony in July, that could be risky.

SPEAKER_00

That could be deadly.

SPEAKER_01

I know that can because it gets here in Arizona, what like in the one? I feel like by July it's like 115s, like for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Like 118, 119.

SPEAKER_01

Like we're breaking records every summer. So like we we don't want that at all. Um, but a lot of desert venues though are gonna be packed here in March, is like I feel like the busiest. Yeah, I feel like November and then March are always like the busiest months here, at least in Arizona.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, perfect. All right, so let's bounce over to the West Coast. Um, so this is like coastal California, Oregon, Washington. Um, so their peak dates are May through October. So, you know, that's summertime. This is a low chance of rain, longer daylight, golden hour is like heaven in this in these areas.

SPEAKER_01

The mountain backdrops, ooh, with like that good ocean. You can like turn you guys forget there's an ocean over there.

SPEAKER_00

It's okay.

SPEAKER_01

I just forget that.

SPEAKER_00

There's an ocean along Washington, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oregon, Oregon, California.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I know Cali, but so um off-peak off-peak season is November through April. This is because there is more likely chance of rain. Um, there's lower travel demand, which I find really interesting because that's also during holiday season, like yeah, I think Thanksgiving and Christmas, yeah. But apparently there's a lower demand for travel. Um, there is flexibility. So, what is your thought on a misty romantic vibe? Is it worth the rain risk?

SPEAKER_01

As soon as you said that, I instantly thought of like Twilight, you know, when they get married. Like that's like the total vibe. Um, and I love it. If I was down to risk that there could be rain, I would just full send and do it. I've been at multiple weddings where it's rained and it's outdoor, and it typically leads to a lot of hiccups and big feelings, big feelings, which stress me out. So I don't know if I'd want to risk it. But when I think of that wedding, I mean, it's just it's gorgeous. It is like I'm not very like I do like up north, like I love, you know, Flagstaff, the mountains and stuff, but like I wouldn't personally go for that vibe getting married, but when I do see other people, you know, in the mountains, in you know, the tall trees, I'm like, okay, it's I like the vibe. Yeah. What do you think? Do you like that vibe too?

West Coast Peaks And Rain Tradeoffs

SPEAKER_00

Or the misty, yeah, romantic. I am not a huge fan of humidity. Like, I'm definitely a dry desert lizard. Yeah, if I lived in Florida, my I I have very naturally curly hair and I would just poof up. I would look like a lion.

SPEAKER_01

I would just look like a sweaty mop. Like my pinch straight hair, I'd be like, ugh.

SPEAKER_00

And I'd be out here with a big thing.

SPEAKER_01

I would be slick back, and then you would be like, not what we would like.

SPEAKER_00

Disasters together. Yeah, we would say it's a hot mess. Humidity, I am is not my friend. I am so good with the oils and the lotion to hydrate my skin, but the hair.

SPEAKER_01

Like no.

SPEAKER_00

The second it gets humid here in Arizona, the frizz starts to come, and I'm like, oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

So I went to Disney World when I was a kid in sixth grade, and I still remember just like miserable, like so hot and sweaty, and then like the humidity is like makes it 10 times worse.

SPEAKER_00

I don't like getting out of the shower and drying off and not getting dry. Yes. Like that just irritates me. I don't like feeling sticky. And then I'm like, get back in the water, get soap now. I feel sweaty. Like it just is not my vibe.

SPEAKER_01

Like it's just a terrible combo.

SPEAKER_00

Misty, like romantic vibe, I don't think is for me. If that's what we want to do, do some of the like ground clouds that the DJ provides or like a production company, you know, somebody to make it feel like that, but actually not there.

SPEAKER_01

Correct.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I don't want the real stuff, I want the fake stuff.

SPEAKER_01

You're like, so we're gonna have it in a ballroom, but we're just gonna like bring them out. It's like those people that are like, can we just like bring the trees? And like your wedding planner's like, girl, what?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just like bring them in.

SPEAKER_01

Just like bring in the trees, you know, we'll just do the whole like night sky, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Get some twinkle lights, go yes, and the pop machine. Press the button.

SPEAKER_01

I need the I need that stuff on like 10. Oh my gosh. So you could do it though, but yes, it would be a little a little risky.

SPEAKER_00

So, where are we traveling next?

SPEAKER_01

Next, we're gonna travel to the mountain states. So Colorado, Utah, Montana, and Idaho.

SPEAKER_00

Huh.

SPEAKER_01

I know I've actually always wanted to go to Montana, and then especially after finishing Yellowstone, I'm like, I want to go so bad. I just feel like I was I actually think it'd be nice to get married there. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

But in the summertime.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not during the winter. Oh my god, no. I I think 75 degrees is cold. So we're gonna talk peak seasons, of course, is June through September. Um, off peak is gonna be April to May. Um, deep winter um can cause issues. Like we just said, we don't want to go and get married there in the winter, especially if we're doing outdoor. Um, but I think it could be a vibe. I I I especially if like your um uh theme or style for your wedding is like Western. I mean, there's no other way. Like cowboy hat, mountain backdrop. I think it would be like, I think it'd be a vibe.

SPEAKER_00

I'm even thinking like Yellowstone, like Wyoming is gorgeous, like the Grand Tetons is so pretty, but definitely has to be a summer thing. I like I'm from that area, and my grandparents' house in the basement, there is like a food storage because we'd have to store food for the winter because you can't travel because the snow is so heavy. Oh my gosh. So you don't leave.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so so you just actually are having your wedding in your basement. Correct. Next to the food storage. Next to the food storage. You're like, you guys, we don't even need a caterer. We have we have all the food storage ready to go. Like, don't even worry about it. All the canning, all the cans and jars, food.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, so summer is gorgeous, yeah. Perfect weather.

SPEAKER_01

It's always so weird, like thinking about that, like being born and raised here, you know, to think like other parts of like, you know, the state world is like, oh no, it's nice during the summer. It's like in the 70s. And I'm like, what do you mean? It's not 150 now. What do you what are you talking about? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So no, I was the kid that like rode my bike in the like my summers were spent because it's like 75. The high was like 85.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. See, that is nice too. I do like that. I think that's perfect, perfect wedding weather.

Mountain States: Summer Charm, Winter Risks

SPEAKER_00

So continuing to head east, um, the Midwest, Illinois, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota. Who those sound so cold in the winter? I know. I'm like just like but gorgeous in the summer. So, so green. So their peak season is May through October. Um, winters are harsh, very, very harsh winters. Summer is everything, and fall is a very competitive season, being that September and October. So winter weddings in the Midwest is budget friendly, but it will be very indoor heavy and there is competition around the holidays.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, true. Yeah, you definitely, I think, yeah, definitely get buried there, but uh a hundred percent indoor venue. But then I worry about like travel, you know, if people are flying there, if there's if it ends up snowing. I feel like there's so many risks involved with having a wedding there. I just I don't know if I but if you want like a winter wonderland theme, I mean, I think it'd be like perfect.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's very pretty.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I want to see some snow. I haven't seen snow in a minute. Okay, next we're gonna travel over to the northeast. So we're talking about New York, Pennsylvania, New England. Um, so peak season for them is gonna be May through October, and then off peak is gonna be January to March, just because of the risk of snow.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and we just are like we're just frozen. We're just so cold in here. It's so cold in here.

SPEAKER_01

We're freezing. Well, it's funny because I keep um, well, I'm planning a trip to New York for my 30th birthday, which I'm very excited for. And I've had several people be like, You're going in November. And I'm like, I know it's gonna be cold, and like, you know, I'm probably gonna freeze my butt off, but it's like I can't go another time. It's like for my 30th birthday. So I'm like, I have to go in November. It's not your fault you were born in November. Like, I'm a Scorpio, I can't help it. So everyone does keep uh warning me about that. But I'm like, you know what? I'm I can do the cold if it's like that for like a few days, a trip. I just could never like live somewhere where it's that cold all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I couldn't do it. Oh all right, where are we traveling to next?

SPEAKER_00

We are headed down to the southeast, finally starting to hit those warmer temperatures. So Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, North and South Dakota. Dakota. I meant Carolina.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, wait, isn't that I was like, that's like you're going the wrong way. My dad's from North Dakota.

Midwest & Northeast: Short Summers, Competitive Falls

SPEAKER_00

So think about living in Montana. My brain is in the Yellowstone right now. Um, all right, so March through May, um, or March through May, and then October and November are very um popular seasons to get married. Those are your peak seasons because this avoids hurricane season and peak humidity. So um the one issue, the caveat with Florida in the winter is it is a very high season for tourism. So tourists are going to be there for the winter seasons. It's probably like the snowbirds.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like it's like right. Oh, yeah, because we'll wait. Isn't spring training also in Florida? Yes. Okay, and so yeah, that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

The same time that it is here. So it's like yeah, but it's warm everywhere, isn't it? Right?

SPEAKER_01

Or no?

SPEAKER_00

In Florida? Yeah, yeah, because that's like peak wedding season, March through May.

SPEAKER_01

Dang. So I didn't think about the hurricane. I always forget, like um, just just so you I just forget there's oceans around.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say there is ocean surrounding Florida. I don't know. In case you didn't know.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't. I I do know that, but I like forget, but I I wouldn't even think about that. Like hurricane season. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, so I think that there's one more area that we haven't talked about.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, a very special Yeeha state that we love. So apparently, Texas is a big spot to get married. Um, and it's all on its own. They don't even get a category. They don't even get a category. It's just it's the Lone Star State baby, and it gets its own um highlights. So peak season is gonna be March through May and um November or September through November, and then no um summer weddings, because just like Arizona, it is hot AF. Yeah, it is hot. It's actually funny. I went to Texas once for a Dallas Cowboys game. Yes, I know I'm a Cowboys fan. Um you're married into it. I know, so don't come for me. And when we were there, it was the game was the day after New Year's, so January, and I didn't realize how cold it gets there. Like I just thought it was like Arizona, like I don't know. It was like freezing. It was like 39 degrees.

SPEAKER_00

Or like even well, two weeks ago, it was like it was 39 degrees. I know. In the morning. I just when I went out to like oh yeah, take the dog out. I was like, it is 39 degrees. I am in Arizona. Yeah, where the hell is the 80s?

SPEAKER_01

I know. For some reason, I think I just saw in my brain like it was always gonna be like warm, and then I was we went obviously we dressed accordingly for winter and brought winter stuff, but I said, Oh my god, I cannot believe it's this freezing out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I was mind blown by that. But I think Texas is a vibe for marriage or to get married.

Southeast & Florida: Heat, Hurricanes, And Windows

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, cute. Okay, okay. So key takeaways. Um, peak season effects, venue prices, um, venue minimums, hotel rates. Off-peak off-peak can save you 15 to 30 percent of your overall wedding budget. Um, and so it's really good to shoulder shoulder season the sweet spot, meaning depending on where that peak season is, to go to the other month really close to it, kind of like so example here in Arizona, October, November are peak season. So get married the last weekend in September or the first weekend in December. So you're still getting as close to that without spending the money.

SPEAKER_01

So no, I like that. In your opinion, do you think it's worth saving 15 to 25% of your wedding budget to like pick an off-peak date? Or do you think it's not get ever like worth it? Does that make sense?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, I think it depends on the overall budget and what is most important to you. Yeah. Because if you have some really expensive pieces that are like those non-negotiable items, and by going to an off-peak date, you're guaranteed to have those pieces, then it's a no-brainer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Now, if you if the and I think we're gonna get into this next about like indoor and outdoor venues, yeah. If you're wanting to get married in an outdoor venue and you have your heart set on this location, um, then you need to get married in the peak season, for example, in Florida, so you're not risking a hurricane on your wedding day. Yeah. So I agree. I think it's I think it's kind of like case by case. Yeah. It's not it's not important unless it is. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

No, a hundred percent. Yeah, I agree. I think depending on the case, like I would rather have my wedding date on a peak season date than try to save a few thousand dollars and have it in like August and be sweating and uncomfortable and like my makeup's melting off, my hair's falling. So I think it just, yeah, I agree with that though.

SPEAKER_00

And I think it also depends on people's lifestyle and their work and what they do because I it's so cute. I met with a couple and they were coming from Ohio, I believe it was. Um, they were in the Midwest, they were farmers. So our peak season here is that like October, November. But for them, they were talking about well, that's when like harvest happens. And so it made more sense for them to kind of move around their dates, even though they wanted a fall wedding, it wasn't realistic because of the work that's what they have to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Or I feel like too, we've seen a lot of teachers get married on like Mondays or like days they have off, you know, that are scheduled school days off. And I'm like, oh, that's true. Then you don't have to spray belt.

Texas On Its Own Timeline

SPEAKER_00

Spring break, the week of spring break is always so busy because that's when teachers can get married.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, that's so true.

SPEAKER_00

And not take off and our work, not miss.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, we don't want to miss those work, baby. So I want that money.

SPEAKER_00

Tell me some pros and cons. Let's talk through indoor and outdoor venues.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, let's talk about outdoor first. So, of course, we're gonna talk about the pros. Um, I feel like outdoor weddings just always have that natural beauty about them. Um, you know, because a lot of times it's either, you know, the landscaping, it's the backdrop, um, epic photo lighting for those sunset photos, um, romantic ambiance. And then I feel like, correct me if I'm wrong, I feel like usually a larger capacity rate, maybe for outdoor, right? Um, but then of course we have our cons, weather risk, which we've talked about. Um, maybe guest discomfort if it's hot out, if it's cold out, um, sound issues, if you know, I feel like sometimes I've seen just like even wind causing issues, cords, stuff like that. Um, you have to maybe think of backup plan costs if the weather does go bad. Um, and then I think like timing too with um your timeline uh timeline. Wait, your day of timeline can also be affected. You know, sunset pictures, when are you gonna eat dinner? Things like that. Which I mean can maybe not be a con, but something to also consider.

Budget Math: Peak vs Off-Peak And Shoulder Dates

So I love that. Those are good. So indoor weddings, some pros to indoor weddings. Um, it is climate controlled, it is predictable, yes, um, an easier timeline. So you aren't fighting weather, like you were saying, um, sound control, light control. Um, you don't have any weather anxiety when you are getting married inside a building, unless there is like a tornado taking place outside and you have to shelter in place. There's a tornado roll out. Very safe. However, the cons to indoor weddings is it might require more decorations. It'll feel less unique, um, less natural lighting and guest capacity restrictions. Um, so some ways that you can combat that is a design angle. Drapery transforms space as well as lighting does um create a moody vibe. Maybe some candles up lighting that always gives a little extra drama.

SPEAKER_01

A little extra oomph.

SPEAKER_00

So if somebody's not going completely indoor or completely outdoor, what is a happy medium?

Indoor vs Outdoor: Pros, Cons, And Hybrids

SPEAKER_01

Um, I mean, I think too, like indoor outdoor is a good vibe because I feel like it can combat the weather issues. Say if the ceremony is outside, you could, you know, maybe move the timeline to have ceremony and then inside have dinner. Um, I think too, just like I like the fact thinking of, I remember the week of my own wedding. It was like the second to last week of September, and it was like in the hundreds all week. And I was like, oh my God. I was like, I'm gonna literally be dying at my own wedding. So I think it could be nice to have the indoor-outdoor vibe too, of thinking of like not having to worry about what looking at the weather all week and stressing. Thankfully, it dropped a few days before and it was 80. Um, I think too, something to consider is like um your decor, too. Um, I get really anxious when people have like signs, it's windy outside, that stresses me out, um, and things like that. So I think the indoor outdoor vibe is really cute and I feel like it helps switch up the scenery and there's you know different places to relax. And like I worry too about like I feel like there's issues with elderly people if it's hot, then if like after you have the ceremony and there's an inside space that's cool for guests and things like that.

SPEAKER_00

So I love I love the indoor-outdoor options of venues because, like you said, you have a backup plan if a weather goes awry and you have to move indoors. Yeah, um, there's also nothing can replace um good natural scenery and even fresh air. There's something about just being outside, being in the fresh air, letting the sun kiss your skin, and just having that like really good experience. So I love the you know, formal dinners that get done inside or even like outside under twinkle lights, but also having all of the options.

SPEAKER_01

So that's my favorite too.

SPEAKER_00

So that's all I have for today. That's all I have too.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, I love that. Okay, if you could get married, let's wrap up with a one question. If you get get married in any state, what would it be? Uh uh, I already know which one I'm gonna pick besides Arizona. Oh gosh grace.

SPEAKER_00

Um I would probably get married in like the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

SPEAKER_01

Oof, I like that vibe. So I would get married in Hawaii.

SPEAKER_00

That was like my first thought, but then oh, around the ocean. Did you know there's an ocean surrounding Hawaii? Are you aware of that?

SPEAKER_01

I do. I if I had the money for a Hawaii wedding, I would do that. I love besides loving Arizona and just the heat in the summer, my next favorite thing is the beach. So I would I would love that.

SPEAKER_00

I would want to get married in like Italy or in Paris.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Something. Those are whenever I see the photos of people who get and then we would honeymoon in like the Maldives.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh. So Hawaii's cute, but you're like Hawaii. I will first of all I said state, so I know USA.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe I wanted to venture out.

SPEAKER_01

She's like, I'm going to a different country, baby. Yeah. I love that.
