Surviving Narcissistic Abuse with Jill Wise
Surviving Narcissistic Abuse with Jill Wise is a podcast dedicated to helping survivors understand, heal from, and ultimately overcome the devastating psychological effects of narcissistic abuse. In each episode, Jill explores the complex dynamics of narcissistic relationships, including manipulation tactics, trauma bonds, gaslighting, and the long term impact of emotional abuse.
Jill Wise is a trauma informed narcissistic abuse recovery coach and a lifelong survivor of narcissistic abuse herself. She was raised by a malignant narcissistic father, and later married a malignant narcissist and had a child with him. Her life was profoundly impacted by years of psychological abuse, including the parental kidnapping and severe parental alienation involving her son, which led to more than a decade of painful family court battles.
Through thoughtful discussion, psychological insight, and compassionate guidance, Jill helps listeners make sense of what they experienced, break free from trauma bonds, and begin rebuilding their confidence, identity, and peace of mind.
If you have ever questioned your reality, struggled to understand narcissistic behavior, or wondered how to truly heal after abuse, this podcast will offer clarity, validation, and hope.

Surviving Narcissistic Abuse with Jill Wise
Why Narcissists Punish You For Loving Them
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, Jill breaks down one of the most confusing and painful dynamics in narcissistic relationships: why the more deeply you love a narcissist, the more cruelly they often treat you.
What should create intimacy in a healthy relationship—love, loyalty, vulnerability, devotion—often becomes ammunition in the hands of a narcissist. But why? Why does genuine love seem to trigger resentment, contempt, and punishment rather than gratitude?
Jill explains the psychology behind why narcissists devalue those who care for them most, how vulnerability activates their shame and defenses, and why your love often exposes the very wounds they spend their lives trying to hide.
If you’ve ever wondered why loving them harder only made things worse… this episode will give you the answer.
