In this episode of Olfactive Melbourne, we sit down with Juliette Fournier and Richard Adamson, the creative partnership behind Hart + Hedi, a contemporary Australian fragrance house where storytelling, craftsmanship, and place converge.

Rooted in a shared appreciation for Australian landscapes and refined perfumery, Hart + Hedi creates fragrances that honour both natural beauty and modern composition. Drawing on native botanicals and carefully selected materials, each perfume is composed with intention and balance, celebrating the dialogue between structure and emotion. The house is committed to non toxic, skin safe formulation, transparency around allergens, and a considered approach to sustainability and packaging.

In this note by note masterclass, we explore Coastal Fever, a fragrance inspired by light, coastline, and freedom. It opens with Kimberley Heath, honeysuckle, and an ocean breeze accord before moving into a heart of Australian mimosa, boronia, and blue cypress. As the fragrance settles, it reveals a grounding base of Buddha Wood, agar oud, and Northern sandalwood, designed to capture the warmth and depth of the Australian landscape.

Watch or listen now as we journey into the creative world of Hart + Hedi, exploring how each composition is built, how native materials shape identity, and how a deeper understanding of structure allows us to experience fragrance with greater clarity and appreciation.
