On today’s episode of M4L Hype & Bryce stop by and we are talking wrestling themes and bracketology! Which theme will turn out to be #1
Yeah, so and I think my favorite part about like this side of the bracket is like so many of these themes have that effect of like when it starts, yeah, right. Like it's so iconic. Yeah, a lot of these themes are gonna start, and then this person's making their run out or something, or even just a regular entrance, you know, it's like you know what time it is. Yeah, like I said, when like I said, when you hear that glass, it's your ass. Welcome to the Music for Life podcast. I'm your host, Scrap Lotto, and on today's episode, we have we're doing something special. You know, it's March Madness, it's bracket season. So I figure, you know, why I'll just do a bracket of my favorite songs. But then I was like, no, that'd be that's too, you know, it's too easy. How about I just do my uh favorite wrestling themes and go off that? And I decided to bring in two of my best friends. Now, you know, like we split like I was talking to y'all, like we split it up into like two generations. We have like the old school and like the new school. Like at first I wanted to do like a whole 64 bracket, but then I was like time and stuff like that. I started to think, I was like, yeah, 64, that's a lot. Yeah, the first idea you had was was wild. I loved it. But yeah, we condensed it down a little bit and it it still still rocked with it. Yeah, that would have been a four-part series. Yeah, that's what I said. Like, yeah, like and plus I got the uh kind of motivated from the New Date by uh podcast because how they was doing like I won't say toys. They did like childhood toys, a bracket over to childhood toys, and I was like, okay, I'll let me get you know y'all up in here and we can do songs. But uh let's get started with the first uh we're going with the new school. So uh first uh matchup I have, which is funny because I just had you know, child, like hey, just randomly do it and get the matchups. But first round, we have Roman Reigns, the uh Tribal Chief, not the big dog. Oh Tribal Chief thing versus Kit Wilson. Damn. You gotta acknowledge it. Yeah, you I not that I don't acknowledge Kit and the toxicity, the the the the mad toxicity that goes on in WWE, but you can't not acknowledge him. And I don't know, Kit's too new new right now. Yeah, yeah. I mean, like getting straight to a vote, it's it's obviously Roman Reigns. Uh Kit Wilson, like you said, he's he's way too new to the scene. Like his his theme is awesome, but it's not like, you know, that's not the glass shattering. That's not, you know, when that hits, that's that's the pop for the same, like, yeah, you know, it's Kit Wilson. He's probably gonna get socked out. We're all gonna hit the pose with him, and everybody's gonna yell toxic. But it was just a couple weeks ago that I I didn't have to go, oh, that's Kit Wilson. But you're always gonna acknowledge your tribal chief. Yes, put your ones up for the tribal chief. So yeah, I'm also going with uh Roman. So, yeah, first first uh matchup, Roman Reigns going to the next round. Green clean sweep. Next next round, we have this is gonna be a little tough. Finn Balor versus Shanske Nakamura. Which Finn? The like the NXC. This is this is like face Balor, not like Judge McDay. Yeah, you're not Jade. Yeah, uh that's kind of hard. And this is Nakamura, you know, with uh his face is yeah, it's not the dark or the or the rap version that people really didn't like, but some people thought was cool. So I gotta go with Shinsuke, but this one's really hard because I love both of those. Yeah. Especially when like Finn, like Demon Balor hits because that that just goes so well. But Shinsuke's uh Shinsuke's uh theme, man, it's been hot for a long time. And I know they they tried to remix it, and sometimes that stuff was bad. Um, but like I think I gotta go with him on this one. Yeah. Uh I think for me, I mean I'm gonna have the bias come in. I'm gonna pick Finn. I'm gonna, you know, I want it to come down to your boat. These are two like great instrumental themes. Like, there's no words these songs, but the crowds every time they're they move with the superstars. When Shinsuke kind of falls back on the ropes, kind of everyone in the crowd kind of tries to do their own variation of that. When Finn is throwing his arms up, uh, you know, with this his song, you know, everyone in the crowd's doing that with him. So two great themes that don't even require words to get you know the entire crowd going. Did Little Uzi rap over Finn's theme? I mean it's true. I guess y'all putting the pressure on me. So uh I gotta go with Shen because that violin, man. That violin, especially like when you had Old Boy come out and playing the violin at the beginning, and you already know what time it is when you saw him come out. Exactly. I wasn't seen. So yeah, fan. It's going on to the next round. Next matchup, we have Kevin Owens versus Rhea Ripper, Ripley. And I'm talking about like right now, not like uh oh NXC Rhea. I'm talking about This is my brutality. I eat, sleep, breathe. I'll go first on this one. Uh like Kevin Owens. I mean, that's that's Fight One's fight, and that song kind of it kind of really awakens up, I feel like. Like it makes you want to just walk into a bar fight or something crazy. Yeah, like, but like Rhea Ripley song, like I mean, you're you're kind of singing it right now on the podcast. It's like there's a reason for that. So my vote, my vote's with Rhea Ripley. Uh also uh that's all I know because after that, it's like I don't know what I think it's just the way it's just another one of those songs. Like, I mean, all these songs that we're gonna go through today, they they all have great instrumentals, but then when you get the lyrics, like it's almost a cheat code. Yeah, once once everybody gets going, like it's infectious. Even you don't even know the words, but you can know how to like hum along just enough that like it's gonna beat out just any random song sometimes. So that's why my voice was Rhea. I'm also gonna go over realness, and it's just mainly because of longevity. Uh like if I think about how like her impact in the future will be, I think that's still gonna be a lasting image of her of her character for for a very long time. So like I I think I gotta go go with Rhea on that one. Same, like I said, mom, even if I did vote KO, it wouldn't matter. But yeah, also what uh I'm going with Rhea because like same reasons and plus I said the stump, yeah, everything, like all that. Like she really like her theme, especially when uh she came out to it at WrestleMania when he she had like the actual group, yeah, and it looked like that was her twin. I was like, hold up, that'll see where she got her look from. She gets it from him. Like, but yeah. Rhea going on to the next round. Sometimes that's like the cheat code. Like, I mean, Shinsuke, he got the guy who played the violin.
SPEAKER_00When you can get the band out there and blazer song, like it's almost another like layer of like yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, the whole performance aspect of of all these things, right, is is is if that character can hit with with his theme or her her theme, right? Yeah, like that makes it that much more special. I know we're just creating themes right now. Yeah, but like if you're thinking overall performance. Yeah, like that stomp, boom, people pop for you, you know what I mean? Uh you got Eo doing it. Next next uh matchup. We have uh Seth Rollins uh burn it down versus Aleister Black. This is easy for me, actually. Alistair like I like Aleister. I mean he's he's got a fun theme that like is kind of like Rhea's in that way where like you just kind of want to say words, you know. Like this is Seth Rollins doesn't have a lot of words, but it's just enough. And the crowd is just gonna hum along and you they're gonna hum along through a whole match. Yeah, and see I think the pick here is easy for me, so it's gonna be Seth Rollins. Yeah, so same reasons, yeah. All right, guess Seth going on to the next round. Sorry, Alistair. I love no, I love that theme.
SPEAKER_00That's it's it's the tough thing about this.
SPEAKER_01Like, like we said, we already condensed this list, yeah. And so it's like everybody who loses is like still somebody we all like. Like they made it into this cut. Yeah, like you made it. Shout outs to y'all. You made it all right. Next matchup we have uh Sammy Zang versus Charlotte Flair. The first Charlotte, not the now all hail to the queen. Not that one, but the first one that was more Rick Flairish. I'm gonna go with Charlotte Flair on this one. Um Sammy's theme hits. Yeah, it it really does, but uh Charlotte's is iconic. I I don't think there's that theme hits and you instantly think Flair. Yeah, whether you're thinking Rick or Charlotte, you're you're thinking Flair. You know what I mean? Um Sammy is I don't know, he's on like his his his theme hits, and he's such an under underdog in his character that I think even even sometimes people have to look to be like, who is that? Yeah, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00So I think for me, Charlotte, Charlotte's first theme, like, yeah, like the you know, homage to her father. Yeah, like that was sick. Sammy, Sammy's theme goes so hard. His first night in WWE, he hurt himself.
SPEAKER_01Or like when he came up to the main roster, he hurt himself entering the ring to face John Cena, you know, just yeah, throwing his arm around, doing his thing. So for me, like I wanna, I wanna, I like that part where you know we all get to the let's go. Like, all right, so I'm gonna pick Sammy on this one. I'm gonna put the pressure on you, Scrap. More pressure on me, man. Now, I already got case for both of them. Like you said with Sammy, you know, got the crowd reaction and stuff like that. And then all of a sudden, it was way better than that one thing he had. Like the uh before he started messing with uh the bloodline. And they gave him this weird, yeah, just weird. Yeah, and then all of a sudden that's like, you know what? Because I remember on the game on 2K, it was like he had that theme, and there's like so like he's changed it back to that. And then the game, like, all right, we're gonna change it back to that too. It's like because that's how much because like AJ did the same thing, they didn't do that shit for AJ last year. So uh, so that's like you know the strength of of Sammy's song. Right now, going to Charlotte, like say I got the flare thing you hear, like every time I I just hear like the the like more like sped up. So I hear that, like, oh yeah, it's Charlotte. Then like she comes out the robe and all of a sudden that, and it just fits her. Like, I feel like it fits her. But if I had to pick, uh I love Big Wu, but I gotta go with Sandy. Yeah, Big Wu's my that's my girl, man. But I gotta go with Sandy, man. Cause like I said, the cre it's just it's the crowd, and then like you, I just feel the underdogness with that song, and even though it's played out. Who does it sound?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But like I said, Charlotte, you did make it to the you made the cut. Made the cut. You made the field. Like all these teams, like, I mean, we're we're talking about real March Madness, like if you make that round of 64, period, you even in that what, that playing right here, you was tough. So we got uh Sammy going to the next round now. Next matchup we have Cody Rhodes versus Johnny Gorgano. We're talking what Rebel Heart? Yeah, Rebel Heart versus Kingdom. Man, like both for me, Rebel Heart, it was so hard, and like I feel like almost almost would be an easy pick for me, I feel like, in a lot of rounds. But like I heard Kingdom when when he finished the story. Yeah. I have a video in my phone where you can like I'm in the parking lot across the street, you know. We're trying to beat a little traffic, like we was there the whole night. I was trying to be a little traffic from this WrestleMania, and you can hear this whole crowd do, you know, the big whoa. You can hear it clear as day. Like it was clearer than when it was in the arena just across the street. So I I got I gotta go with Cody. You know, it it's hard not to go with Home Lander on this one, man. So I I don't know. That that one's iconic because it was a big old F you to uh to the corporation that he now works for. And they let him keep it. Yeah. This is wild. They like I said, like you said, my vote don't matter, but I was gonna go with Cody too. I say I'll fuck I'll rock with Johnny, like even not I am mess with the remix, no, but I'll mess with Rebel Hard. Yeah, yeah. Now we want to the next matchup, which is Jay Uso versus Gunther. Like the fuck, yeah, the that that Goofanata that he just brought it back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Man. Okay, I'll start this one off and I'll uh I'll make it interesting because I I think I'm gonna go with Gunther on this one just because I think that that hits so much hard, yeah, harder. And that Jay's theme is great, it fits him. Um I still some days I don't understand what uh it's just me oose means when you it's never just been you.
SPEAKER_00It's just me. Well, I mean it was for like a month, yeah. A month.
SPEAKER_01Slightly, I guess. I don't know. It's but it's just it's just him. Well, it's just him and he can run it back by himself. So I'm going Gunther. I mean, like, yeah, it's simply you know, conversation probably for another day, probably for a random Sunday. Start plugging other things, but uh Gunther Gunther's music hits, and that's that's the final. Well, it's not the final boss. It's that final boss-esque theme. You know, when you're playing you're playing the video game, and like that, that sounds like something that's going, oh we gotta we gotta fight somebody who's big time. Speaking of video games, it is on 2K. So shouts out 2K for 2K for doing that. Yeah, shout out to well, I'm not gonna shout out to Ronnie 2K. Yeah, no, yeah. Fuck him.
SPEAKER_00Uh but Guther's music definitely gives that, you know, aura, but Jay Uso, that's another one of those that it's it's the way the crowd gets into it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think it's we talked about it's not just the music sometimes, but it's the theatrics of everything else going on.
SPEAKER_00And it really started when, you know, it was just him coming through the crowd, going through the concourse, picking up babies.
SPEAKER_01And you just doing this yeet thing over and over again, and like now it's become, you know, he's he's running it back all the time. I know you pointed that out. And it's it's one of those things where like I think it's easy to not understand it, but then if you're just willing to like be a weird kid who's just gonna buy into when he's doing it, it's like, okay, why not? Like, we'll like we we we watch wrestling, we buy into plenty of weird stuff all the time. So that hurts out like that's another thing where it's like, you know, if we're gonna buy into that, like if I'm gonna super kick you and then, you know, mid-match, I'm gonna go over at my music, yeah. Why not? Like, I almost want to see more people do it. I see that like I when uh I know we was talking about kit earlier, but when Kit came out one of the first times and he beat up Matt Cardona, and it's like his music stopped, and then he just yeah he just came right back on and he just started strutting and shit. Like that's just the type of shit. It's moments like that where like I don't know, it can make a song pop off, right? No rethink. I think that moment right there helped Kit think that that really slid for, oh shit, I can rock with this. And he hit it on timer. Yeah, so yeah, he just like hold up to get us back on track. My my vote's gonna be Jay Oose. Okay, pressure on me. Oose, like Gunther, like I said, it's gives you that final boss-esque when you hear it. Like, it's not on the level like the guitar riff when it with Brock, but when you hear that dun dun, dun dun, like oh, like oh shit. Like you already know your chest is about to like your chest is about to get swollen by the end of the match. Right. And like I said, with Jay, it's a fun theme. It's got the crowd and everything. But you know, that's what's wrestling all about, man. It's all about being having fun and being fun. So I gotta go with Jay also. Understandable. Yeah, because I wanted like to go through. Like I was mad chat put them, like, I'm like, well, you knew what the fuck he was doing. Yeah, yeah. And made it difficult. So it's like, and that's how I like it. I like it and made it difficult instead of just like, oh yes, yeah, easy, easy, easy, easy, easy. I just Gunther Steam, Walter, whatever. Yeah, yeah. Well, yeah. It hits. And I think people that don't even know wrestling, they're like, oh, Jaws. Yeah. Big shark. Okay, this is bad. Yeah. So it's kind of like instant. The J Uso issue right now is yeah, he's with his brother, and it's not just him anymore. Yeah, but even when it's him and his brother, it's just him for some reason. Yeah. And yeah. Well, 2K got it right. Yeah, because Uso's come out the L sense. Normal. Nah, it's just me, Oos. That makes sense. Let's just do what they want. All right, and now we got the final matchup of the first round of the newer generation. And we have AJ Styles versus LA Knight.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_01It's AJ all day, because I'm not an LA Knight fan at all. But I mean, I feel like I gotta, you know, obviously I'm gonna put the pressure on just because we gotta make the podcast interesting. Yeah. Like, yeah, they don't want nothing right, I guess where we're going with this. Obviously, not that weird theme he was riding on.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for like two months.
SPEAKER_01Uh no, AJ, I mean, AJ, it's another iconic, you know, type of thing to me, even though like he had his TNA theme that probably resonates a little bit more. But man, just I I gotta go against AJ, man. I can't I can't vote on him here. I gotta put the pressure on you. I gotta go against my cousin here. What I love about AJ's theme is that they didn't necessarily specifically make it, made it for AJ. Yeah, right. It was originally it was made for what's that of the tag team. He was Bobby Rood's uh Oh, it's Bobby Roots. No, no, no. It was Bobby Rood's tag team partner in TNA. Oh um Storm.
SPEAKER_00Storm Storm, yeah, yeah. He was in Storm. He was in NXT for like yeah, a day.
SPEAKER_01It was supposed to be his his theme song, and I for whatever reason he didn't like it. And they uh AJ heard it and he was like, I like that, that hits, and it just it fits him, you know what I mean? See, I always taught it for what I can't remember that tag team. And there used to be an uh there you now AEW, like one can call itself one of the greatest tag teams.
SPEAKER_00FTR?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh yes, yeah. I guess like they got uh it was offered to them too, and they turned it down also. And AJ makes a sense for them.
SPEAKER_03They're from North Carolina.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but they're stuff that's still a still Southern voice. Yeah, still other boys. Yes, Southern Boys. Well, that's insane, like LA Knight, uh, you know, like they took the O Yeah away, and that hurt my heart when they took the oh yeah, because every time I say I'm playing a game with Bryce and LA Knight music comes on, and I'm like, oh yeah, and it doesn't say it, and all like that kind of hurt, that kind of hurt. They took the OEA away. But I gotta go with AJ also, because like I said, it's it fits him. Like and like when you like when you first heard it for the first time, you're like, who the fuck is is this? Like, and then you just see phenomenal, I am phenomenal, and like, oh shit. Like you know, you know a song kind of like does mean something too for a person when like okay, they try to like take you away from that, but then you eventually like gravitate back to the song, and not just for like one nostalgic pop.
SPEAKER_00It's like okay, like, yeah, this is my favorite.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is like, yeah. And then like his uh excuse because they're just like, Why didn't you like why did you change your thing? And it's like, because I was in a bad place, like uh fable wise. It's like why would I want like I'm a bad guy? Like, why would I want y'all come like no. This is a thing y'all get. Oh no. And like don't want to like completely pull us off the tournament, but like people should change themes when they go to Basonas. When they're in a team, you know, I hate my biggest pet peeve is a team of two singles wrestlers and they come out constantly to one person's thing and then the other or something like that. And it's like you've been a team for a month. Like you couldn't even have to fully change your s your theme. If you're a bad guy, slow it up, you know what I mean? Or make it like all bass. Now we're going to the uh the lead eight of this one. So uh we have first matchup Roman versus Shan.
SPEAKER_00You gotta go first. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Shinsuke Nakamura.
SPEAKER_01I think I I don't even want to dive into it. You know, I don't want to keep diving every time, you know, keep extending this, but I wanna go Roman. Just just to be the offset because this is a tough one. And I don't think this is like this should be a yeah. Once again, pressure on me. Yeah. Uh yeah, like I said earlier with Shane, you know, you got the violin and this all this and that, but the tribal chief, man. This is like when you hear, like you said, how you were saying with Gunther, you like when you hear that, you think of like, okay, this is about to get real. I feel the same with Roman. Like when you hear that dwell, like the fucking opera coming in, and then like I said, the WrestleMania one when he had the yeah, I got it. It's Roman. Oh yeah, I mean, like, obviously it made my pig to honestly try to force, but that's a song that like the Romans theme. I put it on the gym, yeah, and it's going. Yeah, there's like obviously there's there's variations of the titles of the songs, and there's one of them, it's literally titled I Am Greatness. And it's while that's playing, it's like these weights are going through a roof. I'm getting it, I'm conquering every goal in this gym. Like, I am the triple chief. No one will deny me. People will acknowledge. Well, Roman does he's Roman. Roman is going to the final four. Next matchup, we have Rhea Ripley versus Seth.
unknownOh. Okay.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna go first again. Okay. I'm gonna I'm gonna move forward the Shield brother. Seth Rollins is gonna go through. I mean, we are we are on the same page on this one. I well, Rhea's theme as we discuss. You know what? I think Seth's theme, you can get 30,000 people singing uh a wordless song. Yeah. All your words is burn it down. I hear that. Yeah, Nate. I don't know, man. I I I think that's just enough. Yeah, same. I gotta go with, like I said, the Rhea's thing. Ballison that said it in the first round, but gotta go with Seth. But they call him the captain. I guess that's what some people call him the captain. Oh, when he was uh, what was that? When he joined the New Day. Yeah, it's called him the captain. He was uh that was a pull, that was a deep cut. The CrossFit Jesus real old visionary uh Messiah. Yeah, Messiah, the Monday Night Messiah.
SPEAKER_00That's a guy with a lot of nicknames, yeah.
SPEAKER_01A lot of monikers. Yeah, shout out to the Monday Night Messiah for going on to the following to talk to him. Yeah, yeah. Maybe I need to get in touch with Susan. Yes, that's wrong. He'll hook you. That's freaking wrong. All right, next uh matchup we have Sammy versus Cody. I'll let you go. So I didn't vote Sammy in um la last. I I think I'm gonna bear I I'm gonna go with Sammy on this one um because I think you guys talked me into it probably from the last vote. Um and although Cody's theme iconic hits, I think Sammy's theme gives a listener a that a level of motivation that like you can translate that into a lot of different things. I'm gonna go against you. Okay. I mean, I I put both these guys forward.
SPEAKER_00Uh so I mean both of them, I got a whole playlist, like all these songs pretty much are on my gym playlist for the most like a gym playlist.
SPEAKER_01Don't make it sound like you know, that's the only thing I listen to or something, but um Kingdom, Kingdom is just that's another one of those where like just like Roman's I Am Greatness makes me feel like, you know, I'm that guy. Like Kingdom, I'm I gotta go finish the story. I gotta go. I gotta go make it happen. I gotta go get my goals accomplished. Like it's just like, yeah, Samey, Samey does push me, it gives me that infectious energy, like, yeah, guys, yeah. No, it's my kingdom. Like, I gotta, I gotta go finish what I started. All right. They said in wrestling, there's more than one royal family. Indeed. And when it comes to theme songs, I can't agree. I love me, like I love like the crowd reaction from Cody's, but just like on a listening level, like uh Sammy's just like, especially like I said, when you just play in 2K, because like with me, I take get rid of all the songs. Unless there's a song on there I like, like the actual, like real songs, and then it's just wrestling themes. And like when Sammy comes on, it just I feel like it fits better than the mood and everything. And I just love it. Like, like I said, no disrespect to Cody's kingdom and like I said, his story and all this and that, but I would love to put Sammy's theme in like an old Tony Hawk game. It fits so well. Yeah, so I gotta go with Sandy, man. Sorry, Cody. I mean Raheem, my bad Raheem. Yeah, like good thing this is uh, you know, March Madness tournament of bull songs, and uh, you know, some sort of measuring contest. This might be a whole different conversation. I don't want to talk about why why people call him Raheem. Listen about this past and the final matchup of uh the the elite eight we have Jay Uso versus AJ Styles. Alright. I went with Sammy last time, I didn't vote him in into the Elite Eight. This time I am not doing that. I'm going with who I voted into the Elite Eight, and that would be AJ Styles for all the reasons listed before. Man, I think picking this one is opposite the reason of why I picked the last round or the last matchup. Um I think I like the fun here, so I'm going J the so it's all on me. Man, I love both of them, man. Like I love AJ's, but Jays, man. Like I said, I'm here for the fun. I'm here wrestling is fun. Like, no, me and just had nothing to do with this conversation, but me and Zuko was talking about rap music being fun. Music is fun. Jay Uso's is fun. Like when I hear, like I said, when I was yeeting at the Royal Rumble. So I I wasn't saying they don't want none at the Royal Rumble, but when that came on at the Rumble, that was up and I was eating. Absolutely. So I gotta go with Jay also. So Jay is moving on to the Final Four. And now we are at the Final Four, and this one is fucking tough. Right, we got Roman versus Seth. And in real life, this is like it's meant to be. It's like it was meant it's meant to be. Yeah, yeah, no, this makes sense. It's as it should be. Um, if they are not the last two, they're yeah, they're it's gonna be the winner, is going to the finals. Yeah. Um it's hard to go against my tribal chief, but um yeah, I think Seth gets the edge when it comes to theme songs as far as their rivalry goes. Yeah, because Seth had plenty, and Wilman just had two, maybe three, if you count the newer version of his tribal chief.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, but um I was uh things we listed before with Seth, the the the audience participation. And I know everybody throws their ones up for Romans, but I the people sing a song or a wordless song. Yeah, so you can't beat that. It's tough because you know, I'm it at this point in time, yeah, we're we're in a round where like everything hits. Right. Trying to think of like, do I separate the aura of the superstar from the theme? Even at this round, it's like these are both hypes. Right. Seth Seth's theme definitely has the ability, like we've heard it throughout an entire match practically. Yeah. Come through an entire show practically, like it'll stop and the crowd will still say it and do it. Embracing it. Yes. But also there's something in when Roman's music hits, when it whether it's his return, he's coming up and making a save. Yeah, I don't want to go back to Philly or you know, WrestleMania, but it's like being there and hearing that drum at the beginning, or whatever, you know, in that variation, and then the like chorus of like I don't even know, like this choir. Yeah, like it's this aura that just even emits out of the song that I can't even explain where it's like, now this dude is going to, he's going to force you to acknowledge him. Like these guys have figured out how to like, I mean, it's not just them, it's the entire company, it's whoever puts them together, but like it's making this character translate across the entire package. And there's just something about when that, like I said, when those drums hit, when he he hasn't been there in a few months or something, but you know shit's about to go down. Yeah. So I gotta go with Roman. All right. And like, like Seth Seth, you know, the crowd participation. That's been my big thing. Yeah, get the crowd, have a fun. But with Roman, you also have a fun too. And uh I remember like during COVID when he was doing an interview about, you know, when he first came back, it's like, oh, I'm getting a new theme. I'm blah zé blah. We've been working on it. We've been, you know, I've been listening to different versions and blah blah blah, and people gonna like it. You know how people are when they first ain't gonna be that good, blah blah blah. When they first heard it, I ain't see no complaints. I ain't see nobody like out here, like, oh yeah, this shit is trash. This shit is no, it's like, yes, this fits him. And with like I said, like he never really had the upper hand on Seth until today. So I gotta go with Roman also. So finally beat his finally got over the hump of beating. He doesn't know, but here he got so he got over the watch this. Yeah, for both of them one day. Well, yeah, say a clip that said, Well, yeah, sends to Roman. Hey yo, Roman, you got it. You the one. Yeah, you did it. Yeah, you finally got him. Which except when it got hurt, I feel like he would have been his WrestleMania opponent and not punk. Not wrong. You're not wrong. That's a whole nother story. I feel like punk, you know, well, we'll save it for another day. We're talking about music. Different podcasts. Yeah, different podcasts, different podcasts. For the smoke session later. Yeah, Scott. All right, now we're down to Sammy versus Jay, the best friends. Both chat uh crowd reacting, you know, crowd friendly. Two Usos. Yeah, to Uso Usos. Well, I didn't vote either one of these in. Um, well, I guess I did Sammy, but um I'm gonna go with Jay Jay Uso on this one. Um, just for the reasons, it's a standing power. Um, some of the things that you guys have sold me on, like you know, crowd participation, it is fun. Yeah, it's fun for everyone too. Everyone gets it. Maybe not everyone gets Sammy in the same way. Yeah. So uh I'll go with Jay on this one. I think I just want to keep making the podcast fun. Yeah, yeah. Contrary it. Yeah, man. And so, like, I mean, obviously the choice is gonna be Sammy for me. Uh, but I think it's what I'm like envisioning. Yeah. I guess it's like like I heard that that Cody thing when, you know, after it was all done, yeah. It's like in my head, it's like, all right, that, you know. They're gonna keep doing this thing where they kind of make him look like he's gonna do it, yeah. He'll do it, not do it. But like all I keep trying to envision is like he does do it, and everyone kind of hits that big, like, all right, like let's go all together. And it's just like this big ska party in the middle of wherever, like Jay, Jay's theme, like, it's so good, but it it's a little tiring too. Like, yeah, thankfully, Sammy doesn't have a bunch of words to like tire me out, and the crowd can kind of do the Seth Rollins thing for him. So, since I didn't send Seth through, I wanna go see me. Yeah, well, it's up to me once again. And uh, like I said, we talked about the both these themes a lot, and just like how the the IWC hate Samoans taking over, I guess it's gonna be a Samoan final because we're getting Jay versus Rome. There you go. Like I go with Jay, man. Like I said, it's just like Sammy, like it says, Sammy is fun, but uh Jay, like I said, I was yeeting when he won the Rumble. So I was picking up babies and stuff, man. Yeah, like yeah, little baby, little baby and stuff like that. Like it has nothing on Montez when he grabbed the baby, it was like, yeah, so but it's it's still up there. Very underrated thing about Jey Uso's entrance. It actually makes me when like we go look at tickets, like say for you know, oh, Monday Night Raw is coming, Spike Down's coming, oh maybe J Uso's on the show. Yeah, it makes me genuinely genuinely when I'm looking at the tickets for the show, look at that specific section. Yeah, that's like how close can I get to a Jusso entrance? Like, like you know it's coming from this certain A there, so it's like try to get it, try to get on TV that way. And now we're at the finals. We got Roman versus Jay, cousin versus cousin, yep, the cousins. All right. I I'm gonna roll with the big cousin, Roman.
SPEAKER_00So let's I wish I wish I could have made the finals harder, honestly. Like I did all this work to get here, but I can't go against Charlie. Like he you've seen what he he did to Jag. Yeah, I'm not trying to get choked out or something.
SPEAKER_01Run to my siblings. Yeah, then chuck sitting chuck his symbol out. Or yeah, could choke my sibling out, make me quit. Like, I just can't. We Roman Reigns. Yeah, it goes. Roman, it's it's just like this past Super Bow. It's just easy. It's just the it's the best new school theme in in total package. Like I said, like it's the aura. I mean, it helps the superstar, obviously, helps the song sometimes, but like the song also helps the superstar. And it's like, man, he's got that aura when he comes out. Yep. Like I said, when he when he returns or pops up, it kind of like it's not the complete throwback to what we're gonna get into, but like it kind of has that feel. So I'm like, oh yeah, like here we go. Like shit about the pickup. They finishers. Come in a superman punch somebody and spirit. Destruction, yeah. It's time for the A plus story. What? Yep. Shout out to Roman. You did it. You number one. In the new school bracket, though, Roman is going on to face the winner of the old school bracket, which is a lot fun. That's like Chad knew was doing mixing these up. Okay. First round. We have number one seed, Stone Cold Steve Austin, as he should be, versus I don't know why they made him a 16 seed, but Razor Ramon.
SPEAKER_03Oh man.
SPEAKER_00For me, it's like I already thinking about this side of the bracket and not trying to think too hard about the list ahead of time.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, man, like this is gonna be a hard guy to be. Yeah, like oh, it definitely is. Pulling straight from his Instagram, Razor, Stone Cold, man, these are two solid ass cats, right? Like, all right, but Stone Cold, man, like that's just gonna be my bow almost every time he's there. Yeah, I'm I'm right there. I just wasn't expecting to have to go up against Razor Room so early because one of my favorite themes like as far as old school WWE, but there is no beating Stone Cold. No, that's not at that class, but it's everyone. It's gonna be tough, it's gonna be a tough bracket for people against Stone Cold, I'll be honest. Yeah, I I only have a couple names. Yeah, that couple ideas that that I'm like uh maybe maybe we'll maybe we'll vote this way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so and I think my favorite part about like this side of the bracket is like so many of these themes have that effect of like when it starts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. Like it's so iconic when a lot of these themes are gonna start and then this person's making their run out or something, or even just a regular entrance, you know, it's like you know what time it is. Yeah, like I said, when the way you say when you hear the glass, it's your ass. So yeah, but also another thing, like I f like somebody pointed out that if you listen to like I don't say the bass line of uh Razor Ramon, you hear Stone Coast saying I believe that so then I mean I believe that because they definitely rework a lot of songs, like to go back to the new school bracket. I know we didn't have them in there, but Jimmy Uso, him and Jay, I believe both their version of the original theme. Yeah, I think Roman's theme is actually a remixed version of the shield theme.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I believe like a complete like crazy slowdown, and then they add all this stuff to it, obviously. But like they just rework a lot of that stuff and just give it right back to them, which is kind of impressive. Like we're talking about changing from face to heel and stuff, right?
SPEAKER_01Right. No, I mean Jim Johnson, who did a lot of these themes, yeah. Like every single one of those that that's on this this side of the bracket, like I don't know, he's a musical genius uh for a lot of the lot of things, so that makes it that much harder.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, we see he definitely had the intro part down because a lot of our like now, you know, the CFO um def rebel, you know, themes, and not to like completely hate. Because obviously we we know there's some good ones out there, but like it seems like every wrestler now is like instead of getting some sort of glass shatter, it's let me yell my name or let me say some weird catchphrase and show up.
SPEAKER_01So I don't know. This this boy is bounce. Next matchup, or say pause. Next matchup, interesting. We got Chris Jericho versus Edge. This is I mean break the walls down. Yeah, break the walls down. We're staying in the Honest Day. I see clearly. So not a Jim Jackson. Yeah, it's not Jim. I'll just now notice that's not Jim. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But not you know me. Yeah, Chris Jericho is. Not do you think you know me? Yeah. You think you know me? Versus I I believe it's Altar Bridge, right? Yeah, Metalingus. Oh for me, just nostalgia and Like just remembering how this song made me feel back in the day, uh as little hype, right? Like it's Chris Jericho, yeah, because you get the and then the break the walls down after the countdown, and man, every single time that like I pop for that, yeah, is like that's the dude. Yeah. Man. Metalingus is definitely like super iconic at this point in time. It's like the crowd song, like everything can become the crowd song. Like voices wasn't the crowd song for the longest time. But now, Randy, like everyone's singing that. Everybody sings it. Metalingus is like really good, but like I'm not gonna be super difficult on this side. Like Chris Jericho, like for me, like it's the moment. Like, yeah, Metalingus is all time, but like Chris Jericho had a moment because of this countdown. And now this song is playing. Now we breaking the walls down, and then he did the shit.
SPEAKER_00Like that dude beat Stone Cold in the Rock one night. Like it's like he did everything. Like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01It's and that's you shouldn't be I shouldn't be adding that in, but it's like there's some when it comes to like tiebreakers, that you can add shit to that. There's some shit to that in this like tiebreaker. Like, okay. I think uh Edge's song became more popular by the time he was done. Yeah, compared to when he was rolling and was golden. So I'm I'm gonna go Jericho, man. Yeah, same. I'm gonna go with Jericho because I remember this is how old I am. I remember seeing the millennium countdown to the millennium clock, like because that's how it was. It's just like weeks before his debut, and he's just seeing like the dun like, oh, who is this? Then, like said, the rock is doing his cutting his promo and the countdown just starts. Yeah, and they see no you break the walls down, and like, oh shit, it's Jericho. So yeah, um Jericho all the way. The other thing that's great about Jericho's song, you can listen in, listen to it at the gym or during coitus. Yeah. So we got Jericho going on to the next round. Next matchup, we have Randy Orton voices versus CM Punk Cult of Personality. I was gonna use Fireburn's versus hey, nothing you can say. Well I was like, nah. I mean, and that's crazy to think about like these are two guys that I mean they had two completely different songs that were like great.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I'm gonna go with color or cult of personality. Um, just uh the group syncs color me bad. Uh yeah, unliving colors or in lady say calling me bad. Yeah, yeah, that's calling me bad. Oh no, I was thinking I do I do color we but um I think what it's uh what cult of personality and CM Punk has done for each other, yeah, I think is is great, and I think that's enough buying power for me to get it through through this round. Man, this this is tough because like both guys are like I mean both guys are titans in terms of like legacy in a sense. Both guys, both songs like super singable. Both songs, I mean they're not uh no voices is a WWE theme, or is it uh yeah, yeah. I think I wasn't sure if that was like yeah, I only think it's yeah, I don't think it's a cut from something. I mean that's that kind of that kind of gives itself an edge, but like in Living Color, man, so time was it like almost evens that out. And I'm gonna have to go with Mr. RKO, bro. Mr. RKO. Well, fun fact, uh, Fireburns was originally for Randy. Like there's a few uh few events that Randy came out to Fireburns. And then I guess they just took it away and gave him, hey, nothing you can say. And then like they gave him that one. Then CM Punk ended up coming in probably like a year or so later, and they ended up giving it to uh CM Punk. But uh oh, also another like fact about themes, uh Deem Linko's thing, his thing, like it sounded like a James Bond type thing. Yeah, yeah. Basically Cesaro's thing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, and I didn't notice that until like I was going through like themes and I was like, saw Deem Linko and I'll listen to him. I'm like, this is Cesaro's thing. Yeah. So like going back to this, like, oh, we're taking themes and we're just remixing them and giving them to somebody else. But uh, yeah, I gotta go. It's tough. Like my homie Brent got a version of voices. Uh he's be singing voices. He like, he like, they talk to me in my sleep. Like, that's a funny cause. He'll remix. Like, he got uh for Stone Cold Steve Austin. He was like Stone Cold Steve Austin, bitch. He just be singing like this thing. So man, I'm sorry, uh chick magnet, but I gotta go with the voices, man. Just because of Brent, man. Brent Brent made made Randy, I mean, made Randy go to the next round. So shout out Randy. You better thank Brent Randy. Cause I was about to go with fucking CM Punk until I was thinking about uh Brent's. So we got Randy going on to the next round. Next matchup, we have ooh, brothers. Oh I think I know where that's the Undertaker. This is Kane. Yeah. Slow chemical Kane. Which which Undertaker? Undertaker. Uh American badass. No, definitely not that era. Like I feel like anything after 98 Taker works. So I'll say Yeah, I'll say uh 98 Taker. No Doom. Like it's it's not Manistry Taker yet, but it's still like the iconic Doom. With the Doom. Yeah. And it has like a like a rhythm and shit to it. Ain't like this the old version when it's just like a dark dome, don't, and that's it. I so thinking about this, and I know Undertaker's theme is iconic in itself, and it's like iconic across like even uh why spanning uh uh wrestling across other industries and shit like that, but like slow chemical is actually kind of a banger. Yes. So I I'm gonna go with Kane on this one just because like you I I don't know, you you can at least nod your head too. I think Undertaker, like are people in love with the theme, or are they in love with the gong? Yeah, the gong obviously you know things black out and things are happening.
SPEAKER_00Kane, like there's something about that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, he like he walking down, or even when he didn't, you know, he ain't had the mask on he just got the towel hours and he walking down. It's a that's a big motherfucker. And he just slowed and then he gets down there and fire, and it's like, man, I it's this might be uh, you know, I don't know the seating on this, but I'm I'm going cane. This is an upset. Yeah. There's a there's a TikTok. There's a guy on TikTok that like he like goes back and I think I probably sent a couple videos to Bryce, and like he goes back and reviews like old clip, like old like matches or his backstage segments, and he's like doing commentary over them. Yeah, but oh so you know Blase Boss Don't Go came in, just came out of nowhere and just start beating her up and shit like that. But like every time Kane, like he he talks about like slow chemical cane, he be like, ah for sure. And like now every time I like I'll hear slow chemical, I'll be like, ah, for sure. But uh yeah, I gotta go with slow cane, slow chemical. Because like I said, it's it's dope. Like it's like a like honestly, that's my favorite version of Kane. Like, think about all the canes. Like that cane where he came out with just not the mask, just the towel over his head. Yeah, came out with the shackles and stuff with the police surrounding him and stuff like that. That might be my favorite version of Kane. And they really dropped the ball with that cane because he definitely should have been a champion at that time. I mean that's just off script. Like thankfully, like that era. Like, I mean, like I was a little kid and stuff during all that, but like thankfully, you know, that wasn't a social media filled era where like you know who these people are and you see everything because it's like, man, like Kane used to be like like Undertaker and Kane was scary. Yeah, I really believe they was brothers. I really they are brothers, yeah. Well they are. It's it's like uh I was uh talking to my little brother because he really hasn't been into wrestling, but he still like kind of like knows what's up. And I was like, I remember when he was like afraid of like Kane and Undertaker and stuff like that. And I was like, Yeah, I remember you being afraid of them, but imagine seeing the uh the fiend as a little as a little kid. You probably have nightmares for real, because you these are just tall guys who've got fucking paint on their face and stuff like that, like dark eyes and shit like that, and with the music, but fucking fiend got a fucking mask and he's out here looking like some little sideshow killing clown shit, man. Like Undertaker, like not to keep us off track, but like Undertaker was doing some scary shit. Yeah, yeah, he was like putting what he put Stone Cold on the cross. Yeah, um he wants him, he wants to embalm fucking they took him to a fucking funeral home. It was going to basically perform fucking like they're gonna cut him open and do all this and that. Actually scary stuff, bro. Like the fiend looked very scary, but you know, nowadays criminal things. Yeah, we weren't going to be a big thing. She was too happy. Yeah. Well, all right, next next matchup, we got Kane winning that one. Next matchup, oh, another good one. We have Kurt Angle versus Brett Hart. Which would have been a dope match if it actually happened. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Well, at least their theme song matches. Yeah, it's happening and make it could help help us. Yeah, yeah. So man. Brett, I like like the beginning of Brett's theme a lot. Damn him, damn. Kurt, Kurt's theme when it starts, and like it when it plays when he enters this match. Yeah, it's not just no, this thing is gonna play five times. He's about to come out with the bowing at the mouth. You'll see, you see the uh you ever see the TikTok when it's like you're waiting in the ring and Kurt ain't gonna come out, and it's the the one when it repeats. You think it's like, oh, okay, it's Kurt, like, and it repeats, and he's like, oh no, fuck. One of my favorite things on TikTok right now is now I'm not promoting the use of like excessive use of AI, but like they keep doing this thing where they make Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z like fight these wrestlers. It's like they're like, oh, Piccolo, like go on, like Piccolo, you just won the championship, and then Piccolo's like, yes, go hard, and then all of a sudden, like someone's team played. Like the first one I saw it was Brock Lesnar for obvious reasons, right? But then like they played like Kurt Angle, and it was five, it's it looped five times. Yeah, he's a whole different beast, but yeah, I got Kurt on this one. Yeah, I'd I'd same. I I'd I'd uh I'd argue to say that Kurt Engel's theme song should probably ri replace the national anthem, but that's for a different story, different time. Alright, that was that's an easy matchup. But I thought who me a little hard, because you know Brad Hart, dude, then Dennis. Brad Hart can't wake up and hate America and then Kurt Angle be on the other side. Yeah, that's true.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Now, this matchup, I feel like it's gonna be this like he he might breeze his way to the finals, maybe. But we got John Cena versus Brock Lesnar. Like it's tough because, like I said, they hear that guitar riff from Brock, but then it's the franchise. It's it's tough. It's not tough. I'm gonna be it's not tough. I don't think it's I don't I don't think it's as tough as I want to make it. I love Brock's theme. I think it fits him as a as a wrestler, but like I don't think there's anything more iconic than uh John Cena. So I mean, yeah, like Brock's Brock's song come on, and like you know me, I'm gonna get up and start acting like I just hit the craziest chess workouts.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna bounce right with Brock the little for the pyro, but bro, John Cena's games, man. It's timeless, it's forever. We're gonna rap it every time it comes on. I'm gonna say the yabadabado in the beginning every time, like all of it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. Like I said, like how we was talking earlier with Gunther. I feel like the same applies with Brock. You get that, hear that guitar riff, and like you might shit your pants, like, oh shit, like fuck. Michael Paul might get thrown to a table. But yeah, like it's like there's a uh like I was uh showing on my uh guys that watch USC homies, like well, USC homies, because he really don't watch wrestling, but you know Brock, and I had to like put him on a Brock a little bit, like all right, you know, at work, and I was like, listen, look at everybody's face when his music hits. Right. And I was just showing them everybody's face. Everybody could just be like smiling, then his music hit, just like this coldest and like chill face, like, oh fuck. Like he's like, he's the one guy like walks in the room and it's like, all right, you know if his music plays, there's no like you're gonna get one over on this guy that you're about to eat a couple of German, you may eat a couple F5s, like it's not gonna be a very good day for you. Just lay down, please. Now oh shit. We have this one, we have Batista versus Shawn Michaels. Okay, not as hard as I want to make it, but like I'm gonna go Shawn Michaels because I uh for similar reasons to other songs, but like it's just so iconic. Yeah, like everybody knows sexy boy. I yeah. I like Batista's song. Yeah, it does, it does. But right now, I can't think of like I I can't think of anything that stands out in his song that makes it hit more. You know what I mean? The only thing I can think of is the machine gun thing, and that's that has nothing to do with the song. Ah man, yeah, I it's gonna be funny when you see this back later and you say that, and like I like literally look at the camera like Yeah, yeah, you see I saw his I saw his face. I feel like she'll see his face. Like the first thing that popped into my head for some reason was like obviously beginning to get the shot of Michael's re like, uh but then the next thing that popped into my head was sexy red hitting the remix. And that just it was like what did she just recently do? Yeah, she just did uh Michael Jackson, didn't she? Yeah, yeah, no, bro. She she ruined it, she ruined this one, she killed uh Michael. Before we've before we move on, she's an NXT. I'll blame I'll blame you. You was part of the train that was forcing her down people's throats. You're responsible for this. I am you are responsible. I'll take full breath. I'm not even shaming myself. You got her on an XT. I did. I think I did too, actually. Yeah, like no, because you gotta think we was doing the uh weekly plug. Uh he was uh hyping up sexy red more than original anybody original champions. And I was like, I guess, like you know, I see it, but I guess I'm gonna I'm gonna go against you on this. I mean it's all scrap. I don't blame you. Uh and I understand, but you know, shout out sexy red. Oh, like thank God I didn't hear this Sean Michael, well, sexy red version of Shawn Michaels statement, because I probably feel the same way. But I gotta go with Sean, because like you said, Sean it's iconic, man. Like, I like Batista's and like I feel like Batista's like really didn't like start pop into like towards like the end of his like yeah, he kind of like the the but but uh the song really wasn't really talked about until like after like l after his career. Like I've seen people, not like after, I feel like when he left, yeah, and then he came back, and then people was like, Oh, his theme is one of the greatest of all times. Like, yeah, I wasn't saying that. Yeah, I mean I feel like the really what he was saying, like everybody was like when it hit the machine. Yeah, it hit the hit when he said it wasn't the actual song, no. So yeah, I gotta go with HBK the Heartbreak Kid. Also, so it's the easy win for Sean. Well, not easy win, but he pulled it off. He did. Next matchup. Well, final matchup. Well, this round, we have this could this could lead to some like honorable mentions. We have see this this one's kind of tough because his one his one theme is like everybody knows it, but it's not my favorite of his themes. That's why when we doing the attitude era, I could add his thing. But we gotta go off of his most famous one, so I had to pick it. But we got Triple H. Okay, the uh time to play the game. I want to do my time, but I feel like time to play the game that's you know, that's it's most iconic versus the rock. And you know the rock got like eight things, but if I feel like you know which rock theme I'm talking about, because if you smell. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not do you smell what the rock is cooking? Not that one. If you smell, like yeah, that's the one I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_00Man, I guess man, like when you when you get home from work, yeah, it's hard to play the game.
SPEAKER_01It's just so easy, but also like to me, when we start thinking about the attitude era or that olden time, and we're talking about, you know, people showing up at the spur of the moment, or even just your regular intro. The beginning of this, no matter what, is gonna be almost as iconic as that glass saddle. Yeah, Sarah. Like everyone's everyone yells this, everyone's asking this question like always. Yeah. It's the rock. Yeah. Rock. That's just your dad. Yeah, I can't go against my imagination. Yeah, same. The rock, like I said, now if it was my time, might be yeah, that argument that would be an argument. That's a banger, banger. Now, if this was Final Boss Rock, I might be out because it's by the time it's all stars, yeah. Or if I even did like, I'll do Hollywood rock in there, but but because that's like a remix of it, but yeah, I gotta go with the if you smell. So we got the rock going to the next, the lead eight. Now we're at the lead eight. Man, now before we go on, yeah. I will be I am a little upset. We didn't have any ladies on this side of the bracket. Yeah, I was I was kind of like, you know. And you know, what's he was in his ventuck name then?
SPEAKER_00Because if he picked the one that I would have put in there, he knows I would have pushed it straight to the five. It's Trish. It was gonna be Trish. That makes sense.
SPEAKER_01Like, see, I was cause I was thinking, because like you got so many, like ones that was there aren't well mentions. So let's mention Trish, let's mention Lita, let's mention uh Chinas, because those was good things. But like when it comes to these themes, like I don't know.
SPEAKER_00No Hardy Boys, we didn't slap a tornado today.
SPEAKER_01Like hey, like I said, like you gotta think when no 3-6 version, like I said, we don't have no more, like I said, it's like it's just yeah, just to break it down, just to break it down. Like now if we were doing our the regular sixty four themes, then yes, these themes were in there, but Edge beat Matt. Once again, yeah, pretty much unreal.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's that's what happens. Like like I don't want to put no more words, but I was like, uh then like say we talking about Seamus. I want to add Seamus, and where it's just comes the money. Here comes the money, but hey, you guess it's so many dope things out there, but you just had to break it down. Yeah, they're good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well you could have done 64 in the olden times.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, we could have. Shout out to Rain Mysterio. Yeah, Rain Mysterio. There's a lot, there's a lot out there. There's definitely a lot. Shout out to Arnold Mentions. Wish y'all could have made it. Like we had like the memorial thing play or whatever. Like, like uh how they do our award shows when people die, they show it like the show the people who didn't make it. Well, R V D. The R V D, that's another thing. Yeah, so many trying to think, were there any even uh new school armor just WCW themes?
SPEAKER_00Were there any new schools?
SPEAKER_01That's the winner winner.
SPEAKER_00I know we were talking the other day about uh we were talking about Leon Slater. Like if he was you know actually WWE Oh he'll have his theme. Well, he changed it. I told you he changes it at least once, but like his thing he's been rocking was we were like, yeah, that's it's like that OSAT Rocky song.
SPEAKER_01I can't remember uh I can't was it Ghetto Symphony or some shit? I think so. He was using basically an instrumental, and that's that's definitely one of the harder, like honorable mentions for the new school. Yeah. Trying to think who else could have we could think Oba's song hit. Oba's is pretty dumb. Oba. We was talking about Trick, but we was like how the crowd with Trick Crick was another one of those like pure instrumental and just the quicker Tony like with the how Booker T is I don't want to mention, but even though like his is basically a WCW thing, he just brought his thing from WCW's, yeah. But still he would had it in WAE. So yeah. Shout out to honorable mentions. Sorry you didn't make it, but if we had a longer bracket and longer time, you'll y'all would have made it. Win your conference tournament next year. Is that yep, win your conference, baby? Now we got the well, a lead eight, and we got uh Stone Cold versus Y2J. Stone Cold, Stone Cold. Like I said, it's gonna it's gonna be hard. It's gonna be like it's really gonna get to like the final four, maybe final round before Stone Cold get tested. Like Stone Cold is like uh fucking, I can't remember that fucking uh Duke basketball team that'll just dominate and switch. That's this is what Stone Cold's doing right now. No, he's not uh he's not doing that. Not not tonight. So yeah, I got Stone Cold easily winning that round. Next matchup, we have Randy Orton versus Kane. Ooh. Okay. I hear voices in my head, man. Randy Orton. I still like I that Kane slow chemical is a banger. Yeah, and like it's it always like voices is iconic, but like I don't know that like as far as which song do I like better, I like slow chemical better. So it that that gives my edge. Yep. You said uh you said Randy, yeah, it's down to me. Same. I gotta go with slow chemical. Cause like I said, ah, for sure. I gotta go with that. Like it could be the goofiest thing that ain't even in the song, right? It'll take you over the top, man. Like Brent, you could you got Randy to you know to the second round, but you say he could save some people, do what you could do. Yes, he did. He gave gave your he gave Randy your all. Now, see, I wish Brent was around for slow chemical because he probably would have been crazy with slow chemical. I hope they put slow chemical cane on the game so I can use it, he can hear it and put them on and make a remix to it. There you go. Cause like when Roman reigns, he's like the uh the old Roman. He'd be like, no, yeah, no, no, Roman. He's like, Roman reigns. Roman. That's what he says. That's how he says it. It's just funny as hell. So we got King going to the next round. Next matchup. Kurt Angle versus John Cena. Man, and it's it's a crazy matchup because that's how he got in the game. Useless aggression prototype. I'm gonna go with John Cena on this one. Um uh again, we're uh we're just going which which songs do I like better? I love them both. And I like Kurt Angle actually makes me feel American, which is sometimes hard to do. But there's no beating Jones. Yeah. Like, it's kind of like with the Stone Code. It it really is. It's like I'm rocking, like, there's not much. There are a couple other kids that can compete with this. It's gonna be tough. Yeah, very tough. Man, Kurt, the five loops can play.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. He can come out foaming at the mouth, perk angle, put my man in five ankle locks.
SPEAKER_01I don't care what happened to Saturday night's main event. John doesn't give up. John Cena wins this one for me. Like I said, John, man. Like I said, Kurt's my guy. He's my favorite dude to use on in the game. And I when I say I pull the strap down. When even though them straps come down, somebody getting an ankle snatched. So uh, like I said, I gotta go with John. It hurt me to go guess Kurt, but I got to because it's more iconic. Plus, I said I wouldn't have won anyway, because y'all both went.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01John, so John Cena. Just with the win going to the net. Final four. Never seen 17. Yes. Might the 18 if he wins the 18 if he wins this. We'll push him. We'll actually actually push him over Rick. What uh final matchup for the lead eight. We have HBK versus The Rock. There's no, I I can't go against my imaginary dad yet. So um there, there we go. You know. I'm gonna let you go. If you smell the rock. I'm gonna let you go.
SPEAKER_00You know, uh I want to think about this one for a second.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is like I said, Sean is iconic, but the rock is also iconic. Like when you hear the if you smell your crowd's going crazy, but also if you hear that like the crowd is going crazy. And then like I don't I don't remember, you know, like you said how like sexy red kind of ruins the song for you. I was staying over here thinking. And Shawn Michaels probably gave us song, gave us one of the greatest remixes of all time. And this might put the edge over The Rock for me, and that was Sexy Kurt. So yeah, I gotta go with Shawn Michaels over The Rock because sexy Kurt, I'm just a sexy Kurt. I'll make your ankle hurt.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. See, this is why, this is why I wanted to go last because I wanted to think about it. I wanted to force you to like put the pressure on me a little bit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But I just I don't think I don't think there's enough enough pressure. Like something about, you know, once once that question gets asked and that guitar is just playing, bro. Like, what it and it's just thinking about like when the match ends, or even when he first gets out there and he's got that title, he puts that fist up, you know, he's holding the title, he's just you know, smelling his air, taking it all in and stuff like there's just so much aura to that. Like, I gotta go with the rock. The rock is going to the final four. And also during the rock's theme, it's funny because they got like a clip of the rocks on like uh on the video game they used to if you smell, but I guess they use it from the actual like CD that came out years ago. And like towards the end of the song, the rock just comes in out of nowhere. He just said, The rock says you can take the CD, shell the shot, ways, and stick it straight up your candy ass. I'm like, why are they good? Why didn't you leave us? Yeah, why do they leave this? Like, oh shit. That's that's the win right there for me. We got the uh the final four. And this one, like I said, we got Stone Cold versus Kane. Which is like I said, so I love slow chemical, but I I do too. Stone Cold ones. This one we know where things are headed. The Stone Cold. Yeah, so yeah, Stone Cold. Stone Cold is going to the finals, which we predict. Yeah, number one seed. And now this is like how we had Seth versus Roman last round. We have John Cena versus the rock. Man, it really like this could potentially lead to another one that's like, you know, that's just another one of those could be a family time, feud. Yeah, yeah, could could it be? Could it be Cena versus Rock, man? Once in a lifetime. Three times, three times. Yes, the third time. So actually, no, this is the fourth. What you saw was in Philly, yeah, yeah. Fourth time. I yelled that out too.
SPEAKER_00There you go.
SPEAKER_01The first I was like, thrice in a lifetime.
SPEAKER_00It's happening. Like, I'm just pulling obscure references next to like random people. Oh my god, I can't believe it.
SPEAKER_01Um oh my gosh, this is tough because you gotta go, you gotta go. I can't even this is tough, and he's making it really hard on himself. Uh it's yeah, this is but I'm I'm thinking about these two themes, and uh the the only thing I can think of is that John Cena's uh theme can run because the rocks theme crawled. Yeah, and that and that theme is going to crawl its way into the finals for me.
SPEAKER_00Wait, you what you're saying what were you saying his team is doing?
SPEAKER_01Is his team running? Because his I don't know. I I'm just saying, I'm just saying it's if there was no rocks theme, there would be no things. No, that's true. I mean man, I was going back and thinking about it again. It's like that rock, that's that guitar, man. Yeah, that that solo part hit. He's just but John Cena rapped his shit. You never catch me in a next man sweater.
SPEAKER_00Not only did he, not only did he just rap that one theme song, like he put out the whole album, uh maybe two, like his unreleased tracks actually. Oh, that it so we just was getting, we just got extra tracks out there. Go consume, but like, and what did what it go?
SPEAKER_01Like his album went what? Platinum? I think so, yeah. I'm sorry, but gosh, man. As much as I want to just say the rock, because you it's the two iconic intros. I gotta go with Cena on this one. All right, here we go. Yes. Cena like says it's iconic in the rocks. You know, you couldn't if you didn't get the rock, he never would got Cena. Man, this is tough. This is tough. I'm just I gotta go with see because I I'm I'm trying to think of things a part of the song. I'm thinking, like, you got the breakdown of when Cena's like when you're talking about you never catch me in the next man's sweater and stuff like that. Like I in case you forgot Phil off, I still have to knock your shell off. All that's plague in my head right now, even though I've made the Cedar vote, is The Rock says know your damn role. But see, that's the one of the older ones, though. Like The Rock had so many theme songs, but Cena only had three, well two. If you count the project don't count a prototype, he only had three. So uh I gotta go with John because like said, the thing is, like yeah, like it's the trumpets, man. Like I remember uh when he fought the new day when he's doing the open challenge. Yeah. And he was like, somebody came out and uh Xavier was playing the like that's that's what made it. Then you got Paul Heyman when he was like so then you got to people that don't even watch wrestling that just know this theme because of the the stupid prank call. Yeah, yeah. It is John Cena, yeah. So yeah, I gotta I gotta go with John. It's tough, man. So the finals is Stone Cold versus John Cena. That's a dream match. I say it is. Yeah, you know, they met cross paths before at uh some uh tribute to the troops. Yes, but he took a stunner, because Cena took a stunner.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01The list, that's a list. Yeah. I still think there's no beaten stereo. I w yeah, I wish I could sit here and I'm trying to make her argument just to be that guy, but yeah, like last Shatter for a hearing the beginning of that and the crowd, like especially like say, like, you know, when you hear glass, the crowd goes crazy. But I remember seeing live when Roman was like, you will now acknowledge me. And that and that crowd just went ballistic when they heard that. But like say it's the glass, man. Like, bro, there's something about like so personally for me, like if you know me, you know my dad. Yeah, like Stone Cold and my dad feel synonymous. This is all I've been thinking this since I'm gonna do it. When my dad's watching the room, like when he goes to work in the morning, I imagine it's the glass shattering. Like he is the anti-authority. My boss says something crazy. I'ma flip him off and challenge. If I hope he sees this, I'm I'm gonna definitely clip this and make sure he sees this.
SPEAKER_00But like it's that it's stuff like that where it's like when Stokold comes out, he's I gotta kick Vince McMahon's ass.
SPEAKER_01I gotta, you know, I gotta beat my boss up and go home and you know, live my life. Like drink a beer. That's my dad. He might not be drinking no beers, but he he gonna light him up a little. Like, yeah. But like it is like it's the same thing though. It's like I can see that. So it's like for the attitude era, for that whole, you know, that's just like Stone Cold. It's almost the easiest pick. Yeah, and yeah, Stone Cold did have multiple themes. Like, I'll have to bring that out just because people be like, oh, Stone Cold had multiple things. Oh, yeah, he did, but even though like he had like four of them, and two out of the four were good. Right. Well, five, because I forgot it's ring master days. Yeah, but yeah, two out of the five were good, but yeah, it's Stone Cold, man. It's all day. Even when you think about like Stone Cold, The Rock, like those guys having variations of the song, like they all weirdly blend together. Yeah, except for that one that I didn't like just that one that he had when he was a the Alliance thing. They had that did it, did it, did it, yeah. Like that's the one I was like, yeah, they really don't like their fans because they had the glass shatter, then it goes into that bullshit. But I did like the red trough to get the man, the man, that a lot. See, I like that one too. I like that one, but like, yeah, Stone Cold won the old school bracket, and now we're at the final of both brackets. We have our tribal chief Roman Reigns versus Stone Cold Steve Oss. Hell yeah. Like I said, it's not tough, but we can make it tough. This is this is me in the gym versus my father. Oh man. I think both have very iconic openings. Yeah. Maybe one more iconic than the other. Um yeah, and you could argue sometimes like Romans drums don't hit because in a r in a re arena, yeah, you don't necessarily hear that first for his theme theory. Sometimes you you first hear the yeah because of the crowd noise and things like that. But um I'm song as a whole and not just the opening. Yes. I'm gonna go with Roman on this one. Um just because I think we were talking earlier that that that song right there is aura. Yeah. Right? It it's instant aura. And not that the Stone Cold theme song isn't. It is, it is in in its own right, in its uh own respect. But man, it that Roman song, you hear it, you're listening to it, it makes you feel good. You know what I mean? Yeah. Stone Cold makes you want to hit somebody. Yeah, that might not necessarily feel good. Yeah. This man, I feel like we're in the finals, so like, yeah, I can't make it easy. Right. And there was definitely, I feel like a direction I was thinking, but like the devil's advocating me is like, okay, immediately starts picking my reasons for the other way. Yeah. And like Roman for sure, like that song hits it's God mode, whatever. Like, he's coming through. You know, everybody needs to stop what you're doing and acknowledge your tribal chief. Look that motherfucker in the eye while he's walking down the aisle, like where he grabs that bike, you stay at it all, yada yada, yada. And that song, like when it plays, this is a song that like when he comes out like mid-save, it does have the intro, but you're right, like there's times where you don't get the full effect sometimes. But when he's coming out for that title match, right, that WrestleMania match, when you have the theatrics, when you're producing all that insane aura, like we were saying, like it's almost crazy to go against. But then it's just that, you know, that glass shatters. Yeah, it's a it's a different type of pop. It's a different type of energy. Like, yeah, he's got the aura when he comes out normal, but he don't gotta come out normal for that song to like do something to everybody in the room, like you know, JR and them are going to crazy Stone Cold, he's driving a phone in his ass. And like maybe, you know, you can't I can't completely discredit the the nowadays because they don't have that same effect sometimes with the announcing and stuff like you know, it's all just different and stuff like that. But it's like when things like that are going on when Stone Cold comes out and it's that chaos, it they set the scene like that. It's like it's almost it's just impossible to go there. So I gotta go with the old school, which is crazy. Like, this is because he's an older one, but he went new school, and I'm gonna go old school. Now it's coming down to me. All right. I was listening to both of y'all, and like I got the same thing. Like with Romans, it's like say you get that, oh shit, yeah, it's here. But then with Stone Cold, like, oh shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I feel like with Stone Cold, so like you got so many instances where you've seen his music hits. Like there could be like 20 people in the ring, and his music hits, and everybody's like, like, oh shit. Like, let's get all right, let's go. He'll whoop everybody's ass up in there with and music still playing. Like, he's not even stopping. Like, and then, like I said, Roman, like I said, he got he he'll take his time getting to the ring. Stone Cold, like walking down the ring, I'm I'm about to whoop everybody's motherfucking ass up in that goddamn ring. Roman's like, I'm a or I'm or farming this. Let me it's like kind of like the rock in a sense. Like, let me just, you know, get like bring it all in, man. I'm you know, bring it all in. Man, if they used to run it back, Stone Cold in that Royal Rumble, like if he if he was doing the J Usa running back when he was just tossing everybody and just sitting on the rope and stuff sitting shit. Let's play my shit. Like, yeah, then I said, hell, I ain't mean that rumble when the glass shattered because like he had a bounty on his head and everybody's just like where he where Stone Cold, he came up from still came out like, what, motherfucker? Like, shit, let us go. But like it said, like Roman got the one, so man, it's it's tough. I can't go against the old school, man. I can't go against old school. And then, like, it's iconic, like Roman, like, yeah, we've been with Roman for six years. Right. We've been with Stone Cold for over almost 30 years. Old as it is. Yeah, oh yeah. So I gotta go with the glass, man. And that's the winner. That's the bottom line. That's the bottom line, man. That's scrap on the buttons. Yeah, so we got our winner. Our winner is Stone Cold C Boston Glass Shatters, uh, the old school, new school wrestling themes. So, uh well, it's that's it, man. That's a fun episode. Have fun doing this. But uh, before we head out, can you let the people know where they can find you and stuff like that? Uh well, I as you guys know, go by Hypocrisy Jones. You can find me hanging out with the uh in your house wrestling crew.
