Um, this is our NFL wide season long predictions mega podcast where we have, uh, after James and I will run through our predictions for the season, we have a number of friends, acquaintances, podcast hosts, family members, um, that have sent in their, their predictions for the NFL season starting tonight with the game between the Eagles and the Cowboys. Um, so we're gonna run through ours quickly, and then we're gonna hand it over to, um, our friends and acquaintances for their predictions, um, which we will be keeping in the spreadsheet. So it'll be, uh, kind of periodically reviewing how people get on. Um, how much prep have you done for this particular podcast, James?

So we're gonna, we're gonna do a, a surprise playoff team. Offensive rookie of the year. Defensive rookie of the year. MVP league wide, NFC and a FC Champions, eventual Super Bowl winners. Um, for us, the commanders team record for, um, contributors who are not commanders fans, their team's record. And then one random hot take and wild prediction. So let's go one by one

jamesy_1_09-02-2025_110405:um, I just, I know their defense is shaky, but think in the NC there's a chance they could sneak in. Um, they're not in the strongest division either. Um, I've got really high hopes for Bryce Young. I think he's gonna take a step forward. like that coach. Um, I like the right wide receiver. They drafted McMillan. Um, it's a shame they couldn't keep Adam Thelan.'cause I've seen one of the other receivers has gone down injured, but, and they've got some nice running backs there. I think they're building something quite good. It might be a year too soon, but

jamesy_1_09-02-2025_110405:one little hick minor problem, them I guess is that, um, they gave up the most points in history last year, so they will need to overcome that.
josh_1_09-02-2025_110405:They've gotta be better. They've gotta be better. Um, okay. Nice. Yeah, that definitely qualifies. Um, and would be a surprise, I think, even though it's a weaker division. I agree. Um, mine is the Tennessee Titans, so I'm kind of going along the lines of, um, I mean, probably not to the extent that we had a surprise season with our rookie superstar quarterback, but I kind of see them having maybe, uh, sneak in. Playoff season after winning just three games last year. It'd being awful with their, um, superstar potential quarterback. Number one pick, who knows Cam Ward. So tie-ins for me, um, I think qualifies for sure.
jamesy_1_09-02-2025_110405:Yeah, I like that. Um. Heard quietly Ward's really established himself as a leader, and everyone's kind of bought into him. Um, you know,

I mean, again, not the strongest division, so I think that that's played into it a bit for me. Um, okay, cool. Um, talking of rookies potential, um, seasons for kind of exciting young rookies, who have you got for offensive and defensive? Can be both.

jamesy_1_09-02-2025_110405:where I, he was in, know, obviously when you're looking through the list, he's kind of one that stands out and I was looking at some other quarterbacks of light and things like that, but. In defense of rookie of the year, five of the last six winners were edge rushes. I'm, I'm looking to look back on this at the end of the season and be right about as many things as possible. So,

jamesy_1_09-02-2025_110405:as I say, there's a few interesting safeties. Cornerbacks could have gone, um, very tempted to Gore Amos, but history suggests, um, Abdel Carter this year.
josh_1_09-02-2025_110405:Nice. I, I've gone the same on both of mine, so I've got Trayvon Henderson and Ab Carter as well. So offensive and defensive R year. I think I, I mean, obviously my surprise playoff team being the titans, cam Ward was the obvious shot for offensive, but I'm hedging my bets a bit and I love, love what I saw from Henderson. So I, I just want to make you happy really, and pick him as well. Um, defensive rookie of the year, AB car was the obvious pick for me, given, like you said. Same logic, really. Um, always, almost always a defensive lineman, um, pass rushing type. So, um, and also if I fail on that one and he is not very good, then happy days as he is a giant. So there you go. Okay. Cool. Um, and I think there's almost a little bit less hype on the bills'cause everyone's like, we keep hyping'em up and they keep falling short. Um, but I think they've had a a good off season personally.
