At three and five I lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. James, how tired are you? How frustrated are you and how worried are you?

So, um, and obviously staying up for it still feels like it was only about an hour ago. Um, and then, yeah, very tired obviously. Then when. To attempt to go to sleep. Being just sitting there quite annoyed, thinking about, um, how is this gonna look going forward? A few injuries, more injuries to come off it as well, which we'll talk about. Um, and Josh, I think obviously the first year of this podcast, obviously starting up back in March, it was all, um. You know, sunshine and, um, very excited and didn't really think about the prospect of having to do these kind of episodes where we've been, you know, where it's not going well. Um, so yeah.

Um, even the Dolphins resurgent performance against the Falcons, um. So they, they might not be as easy as we first thought, but long way to go to get there first.

Um, and it was the, the worst kind of script for a Monday night football game that you wanted to necessarily thought you would lose, but wanted to go to bed early because at halftime it was seven seven, so you couldn't go to bed early.

having a coffee or anything silly. Um, but it was like you mentioned in the, in the preview show, you know, one of the kind of keys that would make this possibly winnable was a weird game and it kind of had that feel in the first half, didn't it?

And, um, yeah, I think we, we kind of spoke about it in our predictions in terms of, I think we keep it close and then it'll just get away from us, which is exactly what happens. Um, I think the obvious talking points are the missed opportunities at the start. You know, there's no way the defense were gonna be able to carry that on the whole game. It's a fair play to them for coming out fast. You know, we've been talking about that a lot. Um, Latimore making a play. Um, yeah, so they gave us opportunities and it was just frustrating. I think some really nice long drives and we get down to the 2030 yard line. It all just falls apart or,

um, you know, some questionable, I don't mind going for it on fourth, but I think the cause on those. Fourth downs were fairly questionable. And I, I was saying, you know, they obviously must know if they're going to go for it on all four downs. So why are you not running it on second and two or, or third and two or, or whatever it may be. And then make it a bit easier for ourselves on, on fourth down, which was kind of my complaint. But

The, the wagon of pick was a, was um, you know, a drop by. tight end. Um, and, and we, and we, we didn't capitalize, like you said, I, I had no problem with the fourth down calls. I just had the problem with the fur, second and third down calls leading up to them. Like you said, I think, you know, the ertz one, ertz one that he caught and was reviewed and not given a first down.

So Kingsbury had a really mixed game really. I thought, like he, he, he schemed some stuff up that was fantastic. He had like Ben sin it wide open. You had, again, Luke McCaffrey wide open and Luke did make a toe tap catch as well, winning coverage. So that was good to see. Um, so he did some really good stuff. He then didn't commit to the run as much when we could have done, like you said, on those downs and stuff. And then he made some, some interesting decisions with Marcus as. Using his legs. He had eight rushes and some of

Yeah, I think it would've been actually, um, I think some of those kind of clutch moments on fourth down, uh, or third down was where Jayden would excel and make things happen. There's that fourth down where Mariott just floated up in the air. It's to no one like. You know, um, that was frustrating.

So yeah, he is, and he, he, he was doing a good job getting us down the foot. When you get down there, it is just not good enough. And obviously we did get down there a lot. So, um, yeah, it, we, I'm not saying we'd have won, but. Definitely would've been more of a game, uh, to the end.

PE people, people start to get a bit cute about things and when Jaden's not playing and talk about how is really good at the design runs and all this kind of stuff, and he's got better vision sometimes on, on, on his own reads and all that stuff might be true. He's said off schedule stuff like he looks fucking lost and he's slinging it up. And even the touchdown to Terry, like, what the fuck was that?

I think he's better at tackle than guard actually, Coleman, um, when he came in, he looked okay, but we weren't able to run the ball. Um, that was the stat that I wanted to pull out. I'm not gonna go through too many stats, right. But we had 60 rush yards on the day.

and our leading Russia was Marcus Mariotta who had 28 of those on. Eight carries Koski merit nine for 25. Only one carry for Debo. Only one for McNichols and only one for Rodriguez. Interesting. it seems like we, you know, wanted Koski merit to get the ball more than the other guys when it was working for him, and now it's not. And he's still getting the bull more than the other guys, and it's like we can't really get it right. It seems frustrating.

Yeah, it is a problem'cause he's been fantastic. us, I think in pro bowler the last five years, or five outta six years or whatever, been good. Um, and a leader, um, yeah, Coleman started the season at Guard and then Chris Paul took over and then he's been an active and, and then now he's sort of back up for wherever someone comes in, I think. Um, so a bit about the defense. I mean, really pleased with how they started to play and also you could tell that the changes that they made, and it was tinkering for sure, but the changes they made were things pre-snap. So you did not see a lot of. Movement you did not see a lot of kind of pointing and, and stuff pre-snap. It did make, it did seem to make them be able to play a bit quicker, so they did something there, which seemed to help. Um, obviously the pick from lateral was like, that was exactly what you wanted from him when you,

So some personnel changes as well as, um, scheme stuff that did seem to have a bit of an impact. We'll see if that has an impact moving forward.

In the second half, he has a chance to jump on a, a fumble from, uh, rashie rice and a halfhearted attempt to just kind of pick it up.

There's the, the last play that Terry made before he went out the game, the diving one, um, which he grabbed on the sideline. Um. One of the officials came running up, called it catch. Then someone, another official that was further away came run down. Seemed to tell that official, actually, no, he didn't catch it and the other of official just agreed with him and they just changed it. Then they had to a review. So what's that about?

Um. It would be my question. Um, the, yeah, the things that did go away that were 50 50, they didn't really have much choice because the video evidence was there and they went to review. And that one I'm just speaking about was actually a challenge from us. We had to actually challenge that. Um, you had the, the spot on the earths one. So how, how does this work? Did, did they, did the, the technology, does it base it on where the rest spots sit or do they just ignore where the rest spots sit and base it on because the ref. Spotted it incorrectly in the first place. Um, so I, I don't know what they base that off. There was the, there was the flag they gave, which would've made it third and long for them in their territory in the second half when we're sitting in the game. Um, our pla that was Latimore, the guy kind of collided with him, um, and he gave it a. A late hit, very late, as in a late flag, um, until they all start complaining about it. And that wasn't, that wasn't anything either. Um, but yeah, there's this little things you notice throughout.
