Breaking the Ice: Cold Case Files
Breaking the Ice: Cold Case Files is a True Crime will examine some of the oldest cold cases in hopes of bringing awareness, accountability and justice to the victims and their families.
We will start with Barbara McClure, a 24 year old Mother, missing since 1978—a missing mother from King County, Washington. Through interviews, cold case analysis, and family stories, we explore one of the Pacific Northwest’s most haunting unsolved missing person cases. If you’re drawn to long-term missing person mysteries, unresolved disappearances, and real-life investigations, join us as we search for answers and justice.
Hosted by her daughter Jamie Stupey, Niece Karleen Klopp and family friend Kathi Lang, this podcast is both personal and investigative—an emotional journey through family memories, missing person reports, witness accounts, and cold case leads that were never fully pursued. Each episode explores the details of that November night, the silence that followed, and the barriers so many families face when the system stops looking.
This is more than a mystery. It’s a fight for truth, closure, and justice—not only for Barbara, but for the thousands of families still living in the shadows of unsolved disappearances.
