SPEAKER_02So it's uh it's a Thursday night. It's 9 15. A little late recording for us. Uh getting back to our normal calendar slot in a Thursday on the week. Um looking forward to it. SPEAKER_01New flavor alert.
SPEAKER_04New flavor alert. Um, and speaking of new flavor, we got we're gonna throw some MOB at you. We haven't had a ton of it thus far this year, but MOB is in full full go at this point. Um, and this is a fun one here. I believe this was one buck and uh either pitcher to throw a no-hitter. Um, so talk about just sending a Hail Mary um here in this uh only a five dollar bet pays out 750 bucks if it would have happened. I think there was like 20 hits in this game, so um not even close, but rays did pull out the W. So his winnings covered that little five dollar bet that he had. So um good good win there for for I believe that was one buck and um and I believe this was Rain Man uh earlier in the week. Um getting another one for for the Rays money line. Um hundred dollar bet paid out 129. So nice little W there. Everyone's on the Rays early, apparently. Um like Jay mentioned, um, obviously the national championship game was recently. Um this was from I believe this was from TJ uh here. This was for UConn as a live bet. There you go. Jeff, we were talking just now before the uh about what the score was at halftime, four-point game, like you said. Um to win, took a money line at plus 325, unfortunately. Um, like we will talk about here shortly. UConn couldn't pull it out. Michigan gets the W, takes on the national championship. Um and and some unfortunate um future bets that we had uh and some of the guys here had couldn't couldn't see their next step, unfortunately, and couldn't cash out. Um but TJ here caught the loss with Mich uh for UConn. Shame shame, shame. You hate to see it. Um and you hate to see another one here. Nikita Kucharov, two points, a little parlay with everything here. We got a little baseball, got a little basketball, got a little hockey. Um and I believe we went 0 for 3 here. Um in this one. So um just chalk it up to you know, you you did everything right, you just picked the wrong side. Um, you meant to put the unders on all these things, not the overs. So it happens. Um again, I believe this was one buck in as well. Nice one here for um Rain Man. Uh a little three-leg parlay for some hockey last night. Um, he had the Sabres, the Capitals, and the Oilers all moneyline. Got the job done. A little $30 hit, $30 bet, um, paid out $120. So nice uh three-leg parlay, moneyline parlay in in the hockey world. Um as we as we near the the playoffs here for hockey. Um capitalizing on some good uh good odds there. And like we talked about um at the uh open there with Jay, uh the Masters in full swing now after the Thursday rounds. Um again, let me double check who this one was. This so you can see is of a few different options here. Um this was Rain Man. Rain Man has Sudeki Matsuyama to finish in the top five, Ludwig Oberg to finish in the top five, Tommy Fleetwood to finish in the top five, Bryson Deschambeau to finish in the top five. Um all those are separate, they're individual bets there. Um so he doesn't need them to parlay them all together. Um and then lastly, he's got Rory McElroy to win the Masters. And if you are following the Masters, Rory McElroy does is tied for the lead right now with Sam Burns as they go into Friday. Um so Rory picking up right where he left off last year. Um and so got a couple different things there, obviously. Um, some of it's looking okay. Tommy Fleetwood had a good day today. Um, unfortunately, Ludwig, Oberg, and Bryson um kind of fumbled their rounds a little bit. Um towards so unfortunately, those aren't looking great for a top five, but both guys have the firepower to kind of get themselves back into it. Hadeki Matsyama, a past champion of the Masters. Um, don't count him out until it's said and done. So still got something to look forward to there. Could definitely hit a few of those um if things go his way there for Rain Man. So we look forward to keeping track of those. And then I think he has Chris Godd up um right beneath here, who who had a solid round today. Um so that he's 75 to 1. So as you can see there, um $75 bet would pay out uh a little over five grand. So obviously he's hoping that he just catches um lightning in a bottle um here here in the next three days, and Chris Goddard makes a run. So that's what you're looking at there. And then this was one that I just put together again. Fun um hard rock allows you to parlay some three ball matchups um for these kind of tournaments. So I had Jacob Bridgman, Justin Rose, Seth Straka, and Ludwig Oberg um to all beat their prospective mates in their group. Um, unfortunately, I went two of two on that. So, like we always talk about four-legged parlays, not the easiest things to hit. Um so two for two, doesn't pay out anything, but we are in full masters go at this point. We will be putting in another one here on Friday. Join us on the Discord um where we'll be sharing those things. Um, and hopefully we go tomorrow. We go 4-0. Um and we win some bets tomorrow. Um again, guys. Thanks to Last Rep. Send us your bets on Discord. Um, try last rep again, new flavor orange. Umrange, green, green jacket, masters, and Jay's showing it off there. Um, that orange can looking good. It's a good-looking can. The safety orange. Safety orange.
SPEAKER_02There you go. It is orange rep, baby. It is unmistakably orange, too. It will remind you when you drink it, you are drinking something orange in the best possible way.
SPEAKER_04Love it.
SPEAKER_02All right. Well, let's shift gears. Um, let's just get it out of the way. Um we already said we and everybody knows Michigan won the national championship. You got two Yukon honk homers here. Um, so we can go a lot of different directions. So let's just actually start with Bubba. Let's get a little neutral, possibly Gator fan. You know, what's what was his take on the national championship game as a whole?
SPEAKER_01I listen, I hit a pretty big parlay. I sent it in the Discord. I had 250 on, I think Rays on the run line, and then and then UConn. And I and I got lucky, I think, at the end. I mean, I hit a three off the backboard, and really I thought for sure Yukon was gonna foul um when Michigan got that rebound, but then they threw it down the court. I think if he would have held the ball, they would have fouled and I and I would have had a quote unquote bad beat. But I mean, when when Michigan beat Arizona like that, guys, I I I thought it would be a close game, and and UConn could have easily won this fucking game. Um that that I'll just get that out of the way. Um, so I think they're gonna have a bad taste in their mouth, you know, until they get back on the court again. But um the officiating was brutal. I agree with that, and especially in the first half. It got a little better in the second half, I think. Maybe not the beginning of the second half, but um, but towards the end of the game, it was fine. Um I thought it was a good game. I thought it was the two best, I thought those teams both belong there for sure. But when Michigan beat Arizona like that the game before, it really put I mean for me, it it worried me. And any UConn fan should have been worried about that. They beat a very good fucking team and they beat them handedly. Absolutely. That was my take on it. But um, what about you guys?
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, it was it was disappointing at the same time. I I think if if everybody's being honest, if you're from Connecticut or you're a Yukon fan, you kind of buy into the hurley conversation, right? Like we don't we don't come here for watches, we come here for rings. And you know, yukon is a blue blood, uh whatever that means these days. Um, you know, six championships in 25 years, it's it's a real thing. And it was exciting to watch. But when we did the brackets beforehand, you know, it we were going out on a limb, you know, and and being viewed as homers because we're picking UConn.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_02We both said it, Jeff and I both said it several times on on this pod. If they can shoot at least 35% from the floor, they're in every game and can win every game. And we saw that firsthand. Um if you told us that they were gonna hit nine threes in the championship game, that in itself would have been, oh, we're gonna win handily. Um the officiating the first half really altered the game. Um, the game still played out, but it's hard to ignore that hook and hold flagrant, which was questionable at best. UConn had the lead, UConn was controlling the game, um and it flipped and they never got the lead back, and it was never the same. And it did not feel in real time, obviously you're watching it with a fan's perspective a little animated and on multiple threads, but it didn't feel like the game was being called on both sides of the floor the same way. Um if you're gonna let it, if you're gonna let it turn into a scrum or a football game, then it's it's gotta be that for both. But we watched the Michigan kid throw caravan into the stands, full extension, hands out, they slowed it down and they come back from the replay like, nope, not even a foul.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they re they reviewed it, and I I I I couldn't understand that. I mean, he he pushed them in the back. Caravan took out two other players, and they didn't call that a foul. I it was mind-boggling to me. But anyway, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02That was that. So the the the the last thing, and I'll just I'll tie uh tie it up with with this. So Jeff had mentioned to us uh in a group thread uh before the game, hey, there's a ref tonight that's a big east ref, and he doesn't have a good history with with Hurley. And in the message, we were all like, should be non-conference referees, right? Um, well, that that referee is James Breeding, and Yukon lost six games total this year. He was part of four of them, right? So it's a pretty big deal when there's one particular referee that seems to have control over the outcome of a Yukon game. And I'm not suggesting that if you play this game 10 times, I'm not saying Michigan doesn't win eight or nine out of the 10 times. Um, but it seemed very similar to what the girls experienced the the night before, which was a lopsided free throw um attempt to make ratio. So when one team's attempting 28 and the other team's only attempting 14, it's a double, right? And then Michigan, to their credit, hit 25 of them.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know what I mean? So they shot lights out. I mean, if they even if they shoot 70%, that's a tie game. You know what I mean? So all in all, it's a great season. If you're a UConn fan, it doesn't do anything to tarnish anything. You know, I mean, it hurley's still an amazing coach. The program's still, you know, on top of college basketball and going to three championship games in four years is ridiculous. So that's all I got.
SPEAKER_00So if you guys didn't watch the game on Monday and on Tuesday morning, I said to you, UConn hit more threes, they out rebounded Michigan, and they had more second chance points. I think all three of you would say, oh my God, Yukon must have won the game, right? Absolutely. They didn't. Yeah, they they didn't. I I mean, um, and the difference is the free throws. Uh look, UConn has had foul trouble all year, so the fact that they had more fouls than their opponent isn't necessarily an odd thing. But um, like Jay said, I mean, the the complaint from UConn fans isn't necessarily the fouls they called on the Yukon players, although there were a few that were very strange, except for especially on Demory. Um, but it was the fouls they didn't call on the Michigan players. I mean, there were at least four or five instances where there was a clear foul in a in a a pretty big situation where they just didn't blow the whistle. And that's where the UConn fans sort of got annoyed, you know. But uh look, nobody's gonna nobody's gonna argue that Michigan wasn't the better team. Hurley said it before the uh the day before the game that, look, if we were gonna play a seven-game series, you know, we probably uh wouldn't have a chance to beat these guys. But they weren't playing a seven-game series. It was one game. Uh the Yukon coaching staff came up with a fantastic game plan. Michigan had scored at least 90 points in every tournament game before that game, and they didn't score 70 that night. So UConn got the type of game they wanted. Um they slowed the game down, they mucked the game up. Um they just didn't hit enough shots. And that's the bottom line. I mean, Jay said they hit nine threes, but they took like 33 or 34 of them. You know what I mean? So if they went 12 for 33, then they win the game. Um and most of the, again, most of the threes they took were good shots. It's not like they were taking shots under duress or whatever. I'll tell you, uh, we gave praise to Michigan for making their free throws, and and I think they were 22 for 23 at one point, which is crazy. Um, but uh you know, Yukon was down four late in the game. Uh Michigan missed uh two free throws. The guy missed two free throws. So Yukon had the ball down four, and Cariban took a shot uh from the top of the key. Now it was deep, but it's a shot that he can make from that range. And I'll tell you, man, when the ball was in the air, I was like, they're gonna win this freaking game. Like I totally believed they were gonna win when that ball was in the air, but they came up short, and and that was it at that point, you know, once he missed it, the game was over at that point. So um look, there's no moral victories for UConn. They're not a moral victory team, but um they they played their balls off in that game. They played as hard as they possibly could, and they just came up short. So um, you know, they made the final four. Let's not forget, we didn't get a chance to talk last week about the the their comeback against Duke, which was you know, obviously the game of the tournament. So uh I mean that was that was a lot of fun to see, especially since it was Duke. Uh everybody loves when anybody beats Duke, and as UConn fans, we especially love it when UConn beats Duke. So that was fantastic. But it was uh it was a good tourney. It was chalk, as a lot of us predicted it would be for the most part. And uh, you know, I'm ready for next year.
SPEAKER_02Let's go. $100 on UConn to win it.
SPEAKER_00That's the first time. Hey, you came close, man. I mean, yeah, you you were uh yeah, I mean, you you got there and you were hey. It's a big sweat. Yeah, it was certainly possible.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I I doubled down on it, and I I just I really just wanted that San Antonio tide parlay to just be alive. That would be great. It would change the whole way I watch the NBA. Um, so yeah.
SPEAKER_00It happens. Hey, by the way, by the way, congrats to Michigan. I mean, we should say that. I mean, hey, it's been a long time since they won. May's a great coach, and uh congrats to those guys.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, F them. Um, no kidding. I got no uh animosity towards Michigan. Uh where are we going? Baseball?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, uh yeah, we haven't had a chance to talk about baseball. I mean, it's not a lot to talk about. It's only been a couple of weeks. I mean, the Dodgers uh slow start, at least with their hitters, but you know, they've come along. Uh, I think the Yankees are eight and four. They lost, they just lost their first series of the season this, you know, today with a one a one-nothing, one-hit defeat, which is ridiculous against the A's. But uh But yeah, I mean, otherwise, I mean, did the American League East is struggling early, which they kind of did last year, too. So that's that's interesting. Um I expect that you know those teams will come on as the year goes along. Um the Mets are having some injury problems. The Phillies aren't hitting at all. So, yeah, so there's some weird shit going on. But again, it's we're we're 10, you know, 10, 11, 12 games into the season, and um it doesn't mean a hell of a lot at the moment.
SPEAKER_01So well, the worst team in baseball, the Rockies, they're on pace to win 80 games. So that's good.
SPEAKER_00There you go.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's good. I know uh a couple of us, I think Jay and I took them over on the on the win. So they're on pace. But uh, but yeah, how about those A's? Yeah, the A's too.
SPEAKER_00Um the other thing. Well, they were struggling before this this series with the Yankees. Yeah, sorry, Bubba Guy.
SPEAKER_02They didn't replace somebody at their level, Jeff. That's all.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I was gonna say the other shocking one is Detroit, right? They're I mean, five games, but I mean they're four or nine, it's not good. Not a good start for them either. So it just it's early, like you said, Jeff. There's not much to talk about, but it's uh it's interesting to see these, you know, the beginning of the season, they say there's a lot of a lot of money to be made in the beginning of baseball season. And um, you know, if you fell for that this year, you're probably you're probably doing okay if you're taking the Dodgers on the run line every night. But you know, people think they can they can uh take the favorite early just because pitching is is better and hitting isn't isn't ready yet and and not hot. Um and these teams are these underdogs are are beating teams that they're not supposed to beat, so it's not really working out like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no doubt. And the pirates who uh a couple of us were on the pirates and they're off to a nice start. So uh, but again, a lot of this just doesn't matter. I'm just happy to have baseball back and the uh you know the ABS system it seems to be working pretty well, so yeah. That's good to see, you know. Um all right, how about how about the NBA? Um I I mean I got a couple things I want to mention, but you guys have any thoughts on the MBA before I go?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think it's atrocious to bet. It's just it's hard, man. You look at the lines and you just you you could try to money line parlay some of these, and the books are just wise to it. It's just like, oh, non-tanking team playing a tanking team minus 15,000. Yeah, I I put one in the other day. I was like a five team, I didn't put it in because I I just looked and I I giggled. I I put in um five teams that are in the playoffs playing tanking teams, and a hundred dollar parlay would have paid sixty-one dollars on a five team parlay. I was just off. Um, so it's a little bit frustrating. It is, it's it's been fun to watch the playoff teams play each other, actually playing for seating or just actually showing up. And, you know, if if you've been riding the Spurs and the Thunder, you're making money. Other than that, It's kind of a crapshoot every night.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You know, you know what I saw today is I mean, Dever's won ten in a row. Um, and that's the first time in Joker's career that they that he's won ten in a row as a player, which is kind of weird. You would think that that would have happened before, but uh um yeah, so I mean, real quick, I mean, from a from a non-gambling standpoint, I'm just looking at the playoff seedings. Um out west, uh Oak Oklahoma City is locked into the one seed, the Spurs are pretty much locked into the two seed. So it's just coming down to who's gonna be the three-seed. Uh Denver Lakers and Rockets are all within the game of each other. Um, you know, the Lakers obviously are uh are are decimated with injuries right now, so you'd think that they would sort of fall off. So you know, Denver Lake Denver Rockets are sort of fighting for that three seed, which is important because if uh Denver gets the three seed, then you got the Spurs Denver in the second round, which, you know, sign me up. I'd be I'd be all over that, you know. Um Oklahoma City would probably be ecstatic. Yeah, Oklahoma City would be ecstatic about that too, because Oklahoma City's got an easy game in the first round, and if they end up playing the Lakers or the Rockets in the second round, uh they're gonna win that in five games too, either of those teams. So um, you know, they have a pretty easy path to uh the east the Western Conference Finals as long as the sp the as long as Denver doesn't somehow fall to the fourth seed. Um in the East, um I mean there's a couple things I'm looking at. Uh you know, New York and Cleveland are fighting for the three-seed. So same thing. You got Detroit locked into the one. The Celtics are pretty much locked into the two because they have a three-game lead with like three games to go. So um it's it's you know, who's gonna get that three seed, the Knicks or Cleveland? Um as a Celtics fan, who would I rather play in the second round? I don't really know if I have an opinion. Uh I I guess if I had to pick a team, I'd pick Cleveland over the Knicks. I think I'd rather play Cleveland than the Knicks, but I I really don't care, to be honest with you. Um the bigger question for the Celtics, though, is in the first round, who are they gonna play? Um you got Orlando, you got the Sixers, and you got Charlotte all sort of battling for uh that that seventh seed. Now, they're gonna be in the playing game no matter what, right? But um the Sixers, uh Ajay, I don't know if you saw this today, but uh Embiid had a uh uh affecdectomy, so he's gonna be out for like two weeks. Um I don't know if he's gonna put him. Yeah, I don't know if he's gonna play in the first round or not. So that's that's a big blow to them, obviously, you know. Um so anyway, I mean I think the first round in the playoffs is gonna be pretty uh pretty chalky um in both conferences, but the second round might might be a lot of fun. I mean in fact, it it should be a lot of fun.
SPEAKER_02So well, listen, as a Sixers fan, I think you would agree, Jeff, if I if I asked somebody to give me a line uh 10 days ago and be missing the first round of the playoffs, it's it's a minus number, isn't it? It's not plus.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So minus one ten.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Now now you're you're telling me we got some abdominal issues, or you know, that that's a little surprising, but um nothing nothing surprising anymore. So um I will tell you, I'll tell you no, go ahead, buddy.
SPEAKER_00Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02I was just gonna say playoffs are gonna be fun, especially on the in the west. I think the east will be fun if you're a basketball fan, but I I think there's you know, especially the second round is shaping up to be some some absolute wars. And the West Conference Championship game, no, no disrespect to most likely Celtics fans, but most likely the winners coming out of the West, and the East can catch them if you walk out of the, let's just say it's San Antonio and OKC, you're gonna feel like you are the champions if you win that series. So an East team could sneak up and grab two games quick and all of a sudden we've got a series. So be interesting.
SPEAKER_00I I mean I I uh just to your point, I I think the Celtics have a legitimate chance to win the championship. And this is the first time I'm saying this all year. Um, the only reason I'm saying that is because Tatum has come back and is Tatum. Uh I mean, we talked about this like three or four weeks ago, and we were just hoping that he would be a good role player for them, but he's he's back to being basically himself. I mean, it's it's kind of crazy, you know. So um, yeah, I mean, uh, so if they make the finals, which is no guarantee, obviously, but if they make the finals with him and Brown and everything else they got on that team, um, that they could certainly win. Um, you know, the second round, Spurs versus uh uh Denver or Denver versus Oklahoma City. I mean, you know, uh people can argue that that might be the championship uh series right there, you know. So uh we'll see what happens. But uh yeah, it's been it's it's gonna be a lot of I mean, like you guys said, uh the end of this season has been awful. I mean, I think there was a stretch where there was like it was like it was like it was like 10 out of like 14 games that were decided by 25 points. You know what I mean? I mean, uh it's just it's insane. And uh I know that they're trying to get a handle on that for next year. I I don't know if it's actually gonna work or not, whatever they're trying to do, but um I'm looking forward to the playoffs. So we'll see what happens. All right, you guys, uh you guys want to chop it up with the Masters. I'll I'll uh obviously anybody who listens to the pod knows that I'm not a huge golf guy, so uh I will pass the baton.
SPEAKER_02As I said to Tyler last night, I wish I had a dog collar on and somebody would shock me after I said to Tyler, got about three grand in action, probably 30 some od different bets, yet my fingers won't stop scrolling, and I need somebody to zap me. It's like you're doing it, you got enough, buddy. You're gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay. You're gonna be awful if you lose, but you're gonna be fine if you win. Yeah, just take it and run. No, just one more parley that might pay 137 grand. Yeah, one more.
SPEAKER_04Exactly.
SPEAKER_02So, all kidding aside, um, always fun to bet the majors in general. And obviously, the masters is always the first one. It's the most prestigious, I think. It does, I don't think there's a lot of questioning that. Um, and it always brings some form of drama storylines. And Sundays are typically pretty good unless you get a, you know, just a tiger runaway or a speath runaway, things that haven't really happened. Um, I think there was a lot of talk on other podcasts, golf-specific podcasts, that talked about this being one of those years where you you might get the the Danny Willett style winners, um, you know, the the Kale Schwartzel style winners because some of the big names are either, you know, have back injuries, having children, getting into car accidents, things along those lines that kind of you know change the narrative. Yet, you know, I find myself texting Tyler saying, remember that year we just faded Scotty and and Rory and they just ran away with it. Um, so um nothing but a lot of fun to watch the golf, feel good about it, and have a bunch of different plays. And that's the I I guess it's for me anyway, speaking for myself, that's the most fun thing about golf wagering. It's not the, you know, not the apps that let you do the parlays. It's just okay, top 10. Let me let me find 15 guys I think that can hit this number all at plus odds, right? What's that gonna look like? Can you put can you put a card together where you only need to hit 25, 30 percent and actually make money? Um so it's a it's it's a lot of fun. Um, it could be really ugly, you know, when you got guys like DeChambeau plus four, um, at the end of one, Rom plus six, and you're just like, fuck, I thought my top 20s were, you know, a foregone conclusion. Now you got a sweat to make the cut tomorrow. So it's just it's a lot of drama, but it's the right kind of drama, and it's the fun kind of drama. So I'm excited.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I uh I second all of that, and I I I will go out in the limb here and I'm gonna I'm gonna have a hot take. I think this is going to be the best finish or the best Sunday um of the Masters that we've seen in a long time. I think that Rory's hot start is gonna come to a a slowdown, and I think Scotty Scheffler's gonna be on the hunt. I'm not saying Rory's not gonna go under par tomorrow, but I don't think he's gonna go five under. And then I think Scheffler's gonna make a run. There's a there's some guys sitting there at at two under, three under where it's gonna be close. And and if you could bet right now, if those guys are gonna be in the final pairing together, um, if I could make that bet, I would. Um, because I he seems dialed in. And we were joking about it, like he hasn't played in a you know, played tournament golf in a month or three weeks or whatever. But he did say on the on the post-round interview today that um that he was playing back home, he was playing with his friends, playing a playing a really a shit ton. Um, is kind of what he made it sound like. So um I think he's I think he's a okay and he didn't really have his best stuff today. Um he he left a few putts short. I was I kind of watched his whole round and um and uh I think he's gonna fix that, and I think it's gonna be those two at the end, and that'll be very, very fun to watch if it is.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean you you say it haven't had a it might be a better Masters than we had a playoff last year, and like a yeah, it was an awesome Masters last year. So if it beats that, that'd be that'd be awesome for it to beat last year's because last year's was pretty awesome and suspensible.
SPEAKER_01Um Yeah, he and and it because of Rory, right? He never he was going for the grand slam and and oh yeah, I don't remember exactly how that happened, but just Justin Rose made 10 birdies on Sunday to get into a playoff.
SPEAKER_04I mean, uh that's pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_01And and Ro and Rory didn't play too hot, right, until the last hole, I guess, or the playoff hole, I guess you could say.
SPEAKER_04No, I mean he he played well. I mean, he was leading the tournament or he was leading the tournament going into it, but he made a double bogey on a par five, so there was suspense. He had a three or four shot lead on the back nine. Um right, and then Justin Rose comes and and chases him down. He gets that big um on 15, he hits a great shot to give himself a look at Eagle. It was a great, I mean, last year was awesome too.
SPEAKER_01Um he's another he's another guy that's right there, I think two under that could be in that. I mean, that's good that's gonna be fun. Those guys are gonna stay, they're gonna stay around there, and I think, like I said, I think they're gonna catch him, and it'll be fun to watch on on Saturday, Sunday, no doubt.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think you're gonna have more of like 2019 when Tiger won, of like six or seven guys being right there around that lead towards the back half, and who's gonna make the big shot on back nine a Sunday, or who's gonna, you know, hit one in the water when you can't hit one in the water, those kind of things. Um, and I hope it's the McElroy, Schefflers, Patrick Reed, you know, Justin Rose, guys who have shown that they can do it, and it's not just you know, some guys that haven't quite done it yet. That right, okay, the guy that's been there before is gonna get the job done. Obviously, all those guys I named, I have something on them winning, so I'm cool if it's just those guys having that conversation. Um but you know, you you got Shane Lowry, you you got guys like that that can go out there and they haven't won a master's, but they've won major tournaments that are are probably gonna be there come Sunday, but the course is gonna get harder. Um, so when you're looking at um all these lines that they have for um groups and stuff like that, pay attention to how people played today. Uh, I would say whoever played well today is probably gonna keep that form because it's only gonna more than likely get more difficult. So for anybody that struggled today, especially newer guys to the masters, they're probably gonna struggle more tomorrow because that course is gonna get firmer, it's gonna get tougher as the week goes on. So if guys that struggled putting today, they're gonna struggle more and more because the greens are gonna get quicker, it's gonna be harder to get to the to the spots in the on the greens that you have to get to when it comes to the masters. So um stick to the guys that played well today. I would I would ride those guys, and I think it's gonna be those, you know, the only 15 guys shot under par today. Usually that's a little bit of a birdie fest at the masters, not like completely, but um, you know, there might be a this might be a year where there's not too many guys, if any, double-digit under par. Because it's gonna get more difficult as the week goes. Now, if they see it getting difficult, the nice part about Augusta and all the money they've dumped into it, they can always make it easier quickly. Um, it's not like some of these places where they don't have that ability, they can make it as easy as they want. Um but yeah, I'm super excited. I'm looking at um, you know, tomorrow um leaders, uh, I'm looking at lines here for end of second round leaders. Patrick Reed's plus 1100. Um, he's only two back right now. Yeah, he's only two back. Um Jason Day, who has played well at the the Masters, is plus 1,400. Um he's only two back. Justin Rose, 17. Uh, if you like Scotty Scheffler getting plus eight fifty um to be the leader after tomorrow, Bubba. Um, you know, plus eight fifty for Scotty to be the leader.
SPEAKER_02He's only three shots ahead. Yeah, it was plus four hundred for the tournament.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so it it seems like there's there's opportunity, obviously. Uh, you know, we we joke that we're kind of fading Rory. He could very well go out and shoot six under par tomorrow and then just like leave the field in dust. Um I hope that doesn't happen for the sake of what we've talked about, it being more fun, but um lot a lot of opportunity um to make some money again. The hard rock has some good lines for groups and matchups for tomorrow as well, so definitely take a look at those. Um, it'll be very, very exciting to see how this thing plays out.
SPEAKER_01Is it is it hard rock Tyler or is it Jay's Hard Rock? Do they have those same lines out for Jay?
SPEAKER_04No, my my mine are broken too. Mine are broken too.
SPEAKER_02I was just happy I got to parlay some things. That was exciting. Dave and let me parlay top debut with Brig with Bridgeman today.
SPEAKER_04He he actually played pretty well on the backside because Aaron Rye was running away with that one in that group.
SPEAKER_02I was looking at a couple of my group because I I've got some guys where I'm like really stressed out and nervous about. I'm like, this is gonna cost a lot of money before we even get to Saturday. But I was looking down my board a little bit more and like I'm running my group bets right now on um the non-hard rock app I use. Um, like so if if time was the freeze, I'm picking up a substantial amount just in group plays. And I've got two parlays, um, both four-figure payouts on the hard rock. That if time froze, I'm in good shape. But to Tyler's point around the way people played today, if you're like me and you have the DeShambeaux and the ROMs of the world, forget about winning this golf tournament. Now that's probably out. But we we've seen it before with DeChambeau in these situations, specifically where he comes back and you're like on Sunday, you're like, wait, is he in the top 10? I thought he I forgot he made the cut. Um, so it's definitely possible. Tyler was right. I again I didn't I didn't watch today. I did do a deep dive recap though. If your putting's off, it's gonna remain off. Um, but if you're a if you're in situational golf where Rom and DeChambeau in particular hit wayward shots and never recovered, it wasn't they weren't losing two or three shots um with their putter. Same thing with Bobby Mack, who yet again is gonna disappoint me. Um Jesus Christ, man. But like you can't, you know, is he gonna put up a nine on a par five again? Probably not. So um if he can get his putter going and and not put up a quad, he's gonna be okay. So I I think if you've if you got some some guys that didn't play well today, even the Matthew Fitzpatricks, the Corey Connors of the world, guys who've been on this course and have pedigree, don't be surprised if your plus two turns in the even or you know, even minus one, minus two going into Saturday, and then you're right where you need to be, as long as Rory doesn't come out and shoot five under and you know really get a you know a big gap. But based on the way the course is laid out, and as Tyler pointed out, getting firmer, getting faster, it's not designed this year to have a 16-17 under. So I think Rory might just plateau, even if he shuts shoots a minus two, minus three. Tomorrow he's still minus eight going into Saturday. That's gonna be strong, but there's a lot of guys behind him that can definitely make up some ground. So it's gonna be exciting, it's fun.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. And Jay, uh I obviously you you got Bryson and a lot of your stuff, top tens, top fives win, maybe. Um right now he's he's plus five fifty for top ten. So to your point, of you know, some people he's done that over the years of like, oh shit, he made a top 10. How do he came in third this year? How'd that happen? Um you still have uh uh you know you're getting a plus money now. I think he was probably minus or very close to you know plus one hundred or so pre-tournament. Um, so you're getting a little bit of value if he can go out into your point. You know, he makes he bogeys one of the par fives and he triples another hole from the greenside bunker. He hit three bunker shots in the same bunker. Uh, I I don't see that happening multiple days. So if he birdies the par five and he just makes bogey, you're uh he's even par and he's five shots back. So like it's not you know, the he's not out of it by any means. He just he can't have those wayward shots that he had for sure.
SPEAKER_02He quite possibly could be on one of those holes right now measuring the bunker.
SPEAKER_04He's probably testing the the grains of sand that they use um in in some kind of scientific method.
SPEAKER_02Well, I'll tell you what, just on a personal level, it because we we share all this stuff on Discord anyway, and I there's just so much I didn't even bother to put it up. I'll just put it up as it as it either starts cashing or it fails. But I'm I'm looking at the top 10, and right now I have one, two, three, four, five, five cash tickets in the top 10. I've got 11 in the top 20. So these parlays I'm chasing with the Brysons of the world and everything, um, I I want them to come in. I want to see Bryson because if he gets the top 20, then a lot of those things are gonna matriculate. And I've got a lot of guys um, you know, just outside that top 20 that very easily the Fitzpatricks and the and the um Connors of the world that could, you know, turn this thing around and end up on Sunday in the top 20, top 10 position. So I like where I'm at right now, and I do think, you know, between Reed and Rose Um and Xander for that matter, um, I like my chances of somebody overtaking Rory and I and I love the idea of live betting Scotty, you know, even tomorrow, plus you know, getting Scotty at 8 to 1 to lead a tournament. That's fantastic. Yeah, gotta take it.
SPEAKER_04Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_02That's what I got about that.
SPEAKER_04That's all I gotta say about that.
SPEAKER_02That's right. All right, wanna jump into the categories?
SPEAKER_04Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_02Do it.
SPEAKER_04Alrighty. I'll I can lead off if we'd like. Uh, what do we want to start? Lock or or prop, underdog?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, go with the lock.
SPEAKER_04All right. Um, this is my lock pre pre-today. I put it in I put this in there before uh the masters started, but my lock is Justin Rose in the top ten um before the week. Um it was plus two seventy-five. Um, he he just always seems to play well in the Masters, regardless of form going into it. Um he's he's knocked on the door three times. He's got the second most second places ever um at the Masters. He's got three of them. Uh he just plays the course well. Um so he three putts the 17th hole and and makes bogey on 18, and he's still only three shots back of the of the tournament right now. So I I I I love him this week, top ten plus two seventy-five.
SPEAKER_00Remember, remember what you had a couple weeks ago by any chance?
SPEAKER_04I I I see Bama, Michigan. I believe it was the over, and I don't believe that over hit, um, which was 174 and a half. It might have been pretty close to that, but I don't think it did hit. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Bubba, what do you got?
SPEAKER_01Alrighty here. My lock. The line's not even out yet. But I know it's gonna be Yankees minus one and a half tomorrow in Tampa. And uh I'm taking the Yanks. So I will fill this in as the odds show up. They're not out yet because there's still MLB games being played, but um I'm taking the Yankees um to beat up on the Rays in that first game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, minus one and a half in Tampa, you're gonna get plus odds on that. So um righty.
SPEAKER_02Yankees are minus 140 on the money line.
SPEAKER_01So they are their favorite.
SPEAKER_02Tomorrow?
SPEAKER_00Wow, that surprises me. Wow. Um all right. Uh uh, so for uh for today I got the Padres minus one and a half. You know, speaking of baseball and minus one and a half, I got the Padres minus one and a half. I think that game is probably just getting started. Uh last or two weeks ago, I should say. I hit Iowa State minus four and a half, and I'm I'm almost positive they lost that game, or at least they didn't cover. So uh yeah. Uh two weeks ago wasn't a great week for me with this category.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, two weeks ago, my my uh lock was Houston minus two and a half, and they lost on the floor. So um this week my lock is Patrick Captain America Reed uh to top ten at plus three twenty.
SPEAKER_04Nice lock it.
SPEAKER_02There you go. All right.
SPEAKER_04I have him I have him as the top American, so I'm right there with you, Jay.
SPEAKER_02He's Captain America.
SPEAKER_00What's your uh what's your prop this week, Jay?
SPEAKER_02It is Tyler's lock. It's Justin Rose, top 10. Uh I got a 325 on an alternative service. Oh, yeah. So we're gonna take that and run. I thought it was gonna be a free play, but my service stuck it in me. And uh no no free plays in golf this year. So I got a $450 bankroll. I gotta figure out how to fuck off with that.
SPEAKER_00And do you remember what you had a couple weeks ago by any chance?
SPEAKER_02I did. I had Judge the Homer in that game that we all watched Judge Not Homer on opening day, opening night.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yep. Okay. So uh yeah, uh I had Judge with at least one RBI, which was plus one fifty-five, that didn't come in. Uh this week I have Tatum. Now again, folks, um, we're we're recording this later than we normally would. Um but I had Tatum with a triple double at plus uh 1040. I have no idea. I mean that that may or may not have come in at this point. I have no idea, but that's my prop for tonight.
SPEAKER_02So there we go. No, two is this short 24-13 and eight.
SPEAKER_01Oh close. So uh two weeks ago I had Judge Dinger, same thing. Um, no good. But I am taking him again tomorrow to hit a home run in Tampa. Um to be a part of that that uh beating that I think the Yankees are gonna um put on the Rays. So judge to Homer, it should be probably a little better now, probably be like plus 280, maybe something like that. Um so look out for that tomorrow. All right.
SPEAKER_04Very nice. Um, my prop um on opening night was Tyler O'Neal to hit a home run, and this is the first year in seven years that he did not hit an opening day home run. Um and I did not bet, and I did not bet him in the previous six, so it only makes sense that I uh screwed a fellow Tyler um there this week. Um somebody that I I don't love but plays Augusta well. Um Jordan Spieth over 14 and a half birdies um for the week. Um he had three today. Um so didn't make any on the backside, only birdied one par five um today. So I'd like him to take advantage of the par fives the rest of this week. Um he usually gets streaky if he starts getting that putter hot. Um I I think that 14 and a half he'll he'll get there um come come Sunday. So um that's where I'm going. Jordan Speith over 14 and a half birdies. It's minus 140 um for for that line.
SPEAKER_01You almost gotta you almost gotta put him in top five, top ten, top twenty if you're betting that, right? 14 birds.
SPEAKER_04No, because he has a lot of blow-ups. He has Jordan Speeth will be will we will he will throw in a double bogey all the time. Um but yeah, I mean I I I I actually text Jay that I I think he could this could be a week where he comes out there and and does perform well. He just likes that golf course and and plays it well. So um I don't like him, but he he is very good at Augusta National. Um underdog. Um Jay, it's like we we we were we did the same things here. My underdog of the week is Patrick Reed to be the top US uh player, um, plus 1600 um for him to be the top U.S. player, obviously. Right now, um he's two back of Sam Burns, um, who's a US born guy, um, but played really well today and and actually kind of fumbled some strokes on the backside that he probably shouldn't have. Um so I like that. Patrick Reed, Captain America plus 1600, and then I had St. John's plus 240 underdog um a few weeks ago. I believe that was when excuse me, they played Duke the Duke and they lost.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um let's see here. Last week or two weeks ago, I think I had pit, and I don't even know what pit that was. Um probably the pirates.
SPEAKER_04Pirate the pirates, more than likely.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, plus plus 104. Who knows if they want it? It was probably Skeens pitching, maybe that's why I took it. Um, but I got um I got the White Sox tonight. They're up 2-0. Um, I also have them in my bragging rights, and friend of the pod, um, Dylan, our buddy Dylan Um Harris, his little brother got called up uh a couple days ago to play outfield for the White Sox. So Dustin Harris, he's he's out there uh um crushing it. He had a couple hits already, RBI. So um good good team. If you're uh a guy trying to make a big league roster, the White Sox are a great team right now to uh to get called up. So that's why I'm I'm on the White Sox tonight. And I think they're up 2-0 on the Royals, so we'll see if they can hold it.
SPEAKER_00All right, nice, good, good stuff. Um last two uh two weeks ago, I had St. John's also um to beat Duke. Uh we should we should mention that the East region lived up to the hype this year. Um the whole, I mean, you know, all the way through from start to finish, but those final four teams, you had St. John's Duke, that was a great game. You had Michigan State, uh, Yukon, pretty good game. And of course the Yukon Duke game was the uh game of the tournament. So that region uh lived up to everything that people were hoping for. Um this week I have uh the Sixers plus 210. Um I put this in after I heard Embiid was uh gonna be out. So um I just I had faith in them before I heard about the injury, and I figured I would stick with it after. So the odds jumped up to plus two ten. So that's my dog of the week.
SPEAKER_02Is that tonight's game?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's not good for you. Yeah, they're down 17 currently.
SPEAKER_00All right. First half?
SPEAKER_02No. Fourth quarter. Second half already? Fourth quarter, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, wow. Jesus, when did the game start? All right, anyway. It doesn't matter. What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it ended for you when it started. Um two weeks ago I had St. John's like everybody else, and that was a big wah wah wah. Um, tomorrow, early line plus 140. You're athletics. Over the Mets. So I should say my athletics. So let's see how that goes. Sneak a little baseball in there. Um, back to golf, real quick, before we jump into bragging rats. I got two things. One's a question. Um, not a geography major, um nor a scholar, but you know, I could read a map. Yesterday um I put in a bet for Jason Day to be top oceanic, which is translation Australian. Tonight, however, I I look to see what the what the national or nationality bets are. Um, there's an Asian category, which has the likes of Hung Tung Li and Matsuyama, etc. And then there's all other nations. And Jason Day is the leader there, and Hadeki Matsuyama is right behind him. So is he Asian or is he everybody else? That's uh I'm not even asking for a friend. I'm being fucking honest. Like, I don't understand. How could you be in two categories?
SPEAKER_04That's uh that's the hard rock for you.
SPEAKER_02I don't I don't understand. So um, but what I what everybody'll understand, can I interest you guys in a little Scotty Scheffler to be on top of the leaderboard tomorrow, Patrick Reed to win his three-ball group against Tommy Fleetwood and Akshay, and Jason Day to win his three-ball group against Dustin Johnson and Shane Lowry. Can I interest you in 65 to 1 on that action?
SPEAKER_04Um just send it over to me and I will be joining.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, very I'm very interested in that actually.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. I mean, and I a little ten dollar, a little ten-dollar throwaway paying 660. Come on now. It's juicy. We're in we're in. I'll send that over to you guys. Um I just put it in. We're in. We're all in. That's fucking delightful. Somebody put the dog collar on me.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's get into bragging rights. Let's brag about it.
SPEAKER_04Alrighty. You guys will have to this is a little bit ago, so you'll have to remind me who these were, but I believe this is Jeff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it is. And uh the only thing that came through here was the Yankees won. So they did cover the minus one and a half, but um the combined total was only seven runs, and uh Judge and Stanton neither hit a home run, although they both hit a home run the very next game, unfortunately, for me. So uh uh, but yeah, so I went one of three there, which means uh loser.
SPEAKER_04And that's okay, Jeff. We'll keep on swinging. Jay, this looks like it might have been you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this was an epic fail. It was a one of three night. It um it didn't start off good with Nebraska and Houston, and um, or I should say St. John's, and then Houston just laid an egg, and uh UConn took care of business.
SPEAKER_04So tough.
SPEAKER_02That's rough.
SPEAKER_04And Bubba.
SPEAKER_01Well, considering I can't even see it, and uh I didn't see I didn't see the uh I didn't see this show up on my phone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you uh Bubba, you were out uh before the pod was even over. That I remember. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was, and I think it would it wasn't Houston, was it?
SPEAKER_04I think Dayton. I think Dayton might have gotten yeah, it was it was it was your NIT game.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was the NIT game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and that's why we told you don't put the NIT.
SPEAKER_01It was what we like to call a self-inflicted win. Yeah, and they were like minus 340 too, and they lost that game. Oh good. No good.
SPEAKER_04Stay away from it, but we got a new week. Let's get into this week. Jay, I see golf, I see baseball. It's gotta be you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and it's gotta be over already, thanks to the Yankees. I had the Yankees, well, let's be fair, Corey Connors has a stake in this too. Um, I I had the over Yankees five and a half runs, and they decided to get one hit today. Um, so that's not great when you have that um in your bet. And I have the White Sox who are currently losing. I'm sorry, I had the White Sox losing by one and a half runs to the Royals. They're up 2-0, middle of the ninth, so that didn't work out. Um, Captain America is the only thing that saved me here from blowing a donut. Otherwise, it looks like I'm staring, you know, over an over ticket, and the pod's not even over. So I went for it. I like the big odds tonight. Wanted to cash something and have some fun in the pod, and instead, um I'm gonna go to bed a little angry.
SPEAKER_04And Jeff, I believe this one was you.
SPEAKER_00It is. It's funny. I I thought I was going big on this ticket in Ash, and uh, you were like uh uh at least 50% bigger than me, but uh I didn't do any better than you, evidently, because uh it looks like the Sixers game uh is uh is a wash. So uh I had the Padres minus one and a half, I had the Mets minus one and a half, I had the Sixers winning at plus one seventy. Now that this bet I put in before I heard MB was getting hurt and uh or got got hurt, and uh Lakers plus 155, so 25 would have played 850, but uh it sounds like this one is dead on the rival. So we're 0 for 2 already.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the diamondbacks, the diamondbacks won 7-1 as well.
SPEAKER_00Okay, there you go.
SPEAKER_04We need to do these pods earlier when we have some fighting chance in it.
SPEAKER_01We need to put these tickets to that for their finals.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01It's up to you, Bubba.
SPEAKER_04What do you got?
SPEAKER_01All right, so I I for once I am I'm alive. Um and uh and you guys are out, so we'll see if I can carry the squad here. I got uh I got the White Sox and and they're winning. Hopefully they can hold on. I think there's like an inning left. Um, and then I got the Padres game tonight, Padres Rockies to go over seven and a half total. Um Rockies are starting uh a Tampa guy, Jimmy Hergett, USF Bulls, go bulls. Um he's kind of a middle reliever. I don't yeah, he's starting the game, so we'll see how that goes. So a lot hopefully get a lot of runs scored um maybe the other way, so we can cheer for the Tampa guy. But um then I then I got uh the Golden Knights tonight. That game just started on the money line, and I got the Avalanche who are up one-nothing um five minutes into the into the second period. So it's looking okay. It's not gonna pay a crazy amount, but uh we'll take a Bragg and Rights winner.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes, we will. Jimmy Hergett, friend, friend of the program, friend of friend of uh mine, friend of the pod. Um, great guy, great guy. He throws a hell of a slider. Hell of a slider.
SPEAKER_02Well, Jeff, we're probably in trouble. I mean, you know Bubba's prowess in hockey, so he's dialed in.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like rain man.
SPEAKER_04It's like rain man in college football. Or one buck ant, excuse me, ran man, one warrant to jot, one buck ant in college football.
SPEAKER_02Uh Indiana just called. They're still wondering why their underdog's up to win a national championship. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, man.
SPEAKER_02All right, everybody. Well, that's gonna do it before we get a little loopy here. It is getting late. Um, follow us on all the socials at Casual Chaos Live.
