That's right. If I was any happier, I'd be somebody else. So I'm not even sure what that means. But um, yeah, we got a nice, uh, it's a nice little quick one tonight, if you will. We're gonna have a good time chopping it up. We'll be talking some some wagering, watching the next game. It is what time is it? It's 8 18 on a Thursday. So we're back on a Thursday. It's uh nice to be here on Thursday. We kind of missed it. Um doing a lot of Wednesday recordings lately. So we've got a lot to talk about with conference finals action on the ice, on the hardwood. Um, we'll touch a little baseball. Um, but we can kind of recap, you know, two two major events last weekend. Um, we had a major golf event that a lot of people didn't even know happened, and we had a major triple crown horse race that didn't feel like a triple crown horse race, both in uh in the park it was held at and the outcome. So anybody have any thoughts on that other than I did not pick the winner of the golf tournament and I did not have the winner in a horse race.

I don't know if many people had the the um the golf the golf winner, but uh horse race. I I I had the 10 and some I had a 10 and some exact us and some tries, but yeah, I wasn't expecting that for him to win outright. So I'm in the same boat. I'm in the same boat. I don't know many people that did have either one of those two, yet alone both of them. So kind of uh disappointing, but I feel like I sit here every after every single fucking big race, mainly the big three, and I I have the same exact response. Like, I never win any of them. I bet I I I bet so much on them, and I never win any fucking. I mean, like, I can't remember the last time I won a Derby or Preakness or a Belmont. Anything.

I had a lot of fun. Yeah. Yeah, I I I'm I'm with that feeling, Bubbo, because when you lose, it it it usually stings. And when you win, if you're catching a piece, you're yeah, it's it's unsatisfying. You gotta hit the big one. So front friend of the pod, um, Oak, he hit uh I know he hit the exact and he did have 10 as the winner. So um at least at least I know somebody who actually won some money on the race. So it's a nice, nice week for him. And then two gloves, Darren Rye, who, you know, I never root against him, but I ironically, I looked at the leaderboard and I was like, should I live bet this right now? And then I like looked at the odds. I'm like, oh, he's only I think he was one stroke off the lead, two strokes off the lead, he was plus two ten to win. And I was like, ugh, I would have thought like five to one, six to one, because everybody was it was still a log jam, and I was like, I don't see the value, I don't see the value there. He's one sham, I mean it was just coming off a nine, and then he just dominated the the back nine. I was like, ooh, maybe should have done that.

So yeah, it it was an odd, it was an odd event, right? I mean, there was a bunch of people bunched together for days, and then all of a sudden he just was able to pull away finally. But uh uh Yeah, it was fun. I thought I thought the PGA was fun. I I enjoyed watching it. The horse race, like you said, Jay, the horse race was odd just because of the event. I mean, the uh you know where they had it. It was just strange seeing 5,000 people there or whatever it was.

So yeah, it it felt like a Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs. It just it yeah, it didn't have a major feel whatsoever. The the the broadcast seemed off, nothing nothing seemed good. And speak speaking of broadcasts being off, did you guys like I know Tyler, you probably watched it, but the golf broadcasts are going sideways.

You know, I started with the Masters. Yeah, Scott, Scotty was how many strokes off? I didn't need to watch his whole back nine. Like, get get me where the hell was Abe Oldberg? He's he's playing with Aaron Ryan. You're not showing a single shot. He's in the top five. Like, what are we doing?

Yeah, they've been messing it up for a while now with with the golf broadcast. You don't see every shot, which makes zero sense when there's only you know even that tournament that there was a little bit of a bunch of there's ten guys that can win the tournament, you should see every one of their shots. They're every 15 minutes. It's not like they're like bang, bang, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. Like you're not gonna even if you have to, hey, this just happened, like people critique the whole this just happened thing. As long as you don't hear the cheers and the pop of like the crowd, you don't really get anything spoiled necessarily. So I I just don't get why they don't have every sh meaningful shot. Like the Masters, they missed a whole debacle of I forget who played with Scotty on Sunday, but who made like a 12 on 12 and kind of threw off Scotty's rhythm. Scotty ends up not making a birdie um on 12, and like that was meaningful to the conversation that was happening in the whole round. Like it was Scotty ended up finishing second. Maybe that guy not you know, being able to keep pace throws him off. Like, that's all part of the story what happened. So it's it's tough with golf. I don't get how they can't figure it out. It's annoying.

We were really pulling for a boat boy one buck ant yesterday. Um had a nice four-legg parlay of the Spurs plus six and a half, uh, Allen and the UFC, the Cavs money line the other night. All three of those hit, and he had a a day or two um to think about a buyout here. It was a hundred dollar bet that was gonna pay out twelve sixty. Um his buyout was up to five fifty or six hundred or so, I believe. Six fifty.

Um Avalanche have been playing great, they've lost one game all Stanley Club playoffs. Um unfortunately, um the Golden Knights come into their building and just slap them around pretty much from after about five, six minutes into the game, and that game was all Golden Knights. The Avalanche made a little push at the end, um but couldn't quite get it done. So unfortunately, like we see a lot with bragging rights, uh, we got three out of four for one buck ant. So prayers up to one buck ant um for that one. Hopefully he hedged to some degree. Um he didn't take an eye out, but maybe he hedged a little. Would have made sense if he did. Yeah. Uh another another tough one here. Uh this one was Rain Man. He had the Rockies Rangers on um, I believe this was uh Tuesday night over ten runs. Um the Rangers won ten to nothing. Um so I I I don't know if that's I guess it's a push. I I don't know. I don't think it is. Um would it would it be a push? I never know how those work. Um so but yeah, Rangers win ten to nothing. The Rockies only get three hits. So he probably liked where he was at, I think, hit through three innings. It was six-nothing. Um probably loved where he was, and unfortunately, catches a loss on that one. Um so tough, tough week if you're a um casual chaos better, except for I believe this was uh Jay Ash. You get a little race here on the 127. Um little Exacta hit. Yep. Very nice. And a free bet. Is this is am I reading that correctly?

Let's talk about the NBA. So we got two series going on. Um, as you mentioned, we got the Spurs and the Thunder, which has so far lived up to the hype. Um that series is 1-1, and they're heading to San Antonio tomorrow night. Um, you know, interestingly enough, uh OKC opened as one and a half point favorites, um, at least on FanDuel. Um uh the money has moved that now to San Antonio being uh minus two and a half. So the money's moved at like four points, which is interesting. Um Fox and Harper are both questionable. Um I think Jay Will is gonna be out for OKC. So um yeah, both teams are gonna go into that game, maybe a little banged up. Um so it'll be interesting. And then of course if we get the the Knicks and the Cavs, as Ash mentioned earlier, um uh Knicks up 1-0 because of the Cavs just uh uh puking up uh uh what would have been a W. They were up 22 with seven minutes to go and ended up losing that game, which is unbelievable. Even in this era, that's just unbelievable. So um what's what's the score of the game right now, Jack?

They're down three, just went to commercial. They just nope, sorry. Cavs are up one. Um yeah, let's put a little icing on that last one. Not not only did they blow a 22-point lead and and lost, they were getting seven points and didn't fucking cover.

I was sitting in the rocking chair, aging in real time. I was like, good thing I'm in a rocking chair because I feel 80 years old. I can't believe this is happening. I've never seen it before. It was brutal to watch. Um, you know, James, James Harden literally was just like, wee, basketball. I don't want to play it. You know? And I I texted a buddy of mine who was a Knicks fan and I said, Listen, if I was the Cavs after um what you call it, after they cut it to five, after the Knicks cut it to five, and the place was going crazy. I would have called timeout. I would have looked for the only Cavs fan in Madison Square Garden, I would have had to escort him down to the floor. I would have tapped Kenny on the butt and said, We'll take it from here, buddy, with this guy. And they would have won the game. That's one of the worst coaching jobs I've ever seen. And Donovan Mitchell for all the playoff accolades and everybody protecting him on all these other podcasts. Like, it's not his fault. He hasn't had the right team. He actually plays well in a big game. Where where the hell did you go the last 12 minutes of that game? Like completely disappear.

Yeah, it was rough. And uh Hart Harden had another one of those uh more turnovers than field goals made. I mean, seems to be his specialty in the playoffs.

Yeah, rough man. I mean, you unfortunately, Jay, you had a bit of a bad beat last night, too, right? Weren't weren't you getting eight points last night? Um that was what that was what it's it was yeah, it was like a two-point game with like what three three and a half minutes to go and uh Thunder ended up going on a uh a run there at the end of the game. So you had uh you had you had two rough ones back-to-back nights, right?

Yeah, lost by a point. It was really thrilling. Um, but we did have San Antonio game one, and we did have him on the floor, so makes up for it. But um just going back to game, I don't know if you guys all watched game one um all the way through, but you know, no hyperbole here. It probably the best game I've seen in the NBA in the last, you know, since COVID at least, and and probably going back to you know the the late teens, right? Um I'm I'm not as Jeff knows, I'm I'm not a huge proponent of 50, 60, three-point shots a game, um, especially when when teams are missing, you know, 70% of those shots. And when a guy is O for 11 and then finally hits one and he gives you the John Cena can't see me with the three. You know, it's just like, dude, it's like breaking your O for 23 slump with a single and bringing your bat to first base and then flipping it. Um drives me insane. But anyway, um Webby's performance was legendary as we know. I I haven't seen anything like it. He's doing shit I've never seen on a basketball court. Um the way he intentionally and some somewhat accidentally shoots the ball, follows up his own shot, and like off balance still dunks the ball over somebody without leaving his feet. It's it's just amazing to watch. Castle's been a pleasure to watch, even though he's got 107 turnovers in two games. Um SGA um looked really good last night. Um he got himself caught up in a post-game interview. I don't know if you saw that. Yeah. She asked about Hartenstein. He like deadpanned it. He was only joking, but he deadpanned. He was like, I I I wasn't impressed. I didn't think it was that good.

Uh yeah, he no, it was even worse than that. He was like throwing him under the bus of saying like he was like, I'm not sure it was like a good thing he played from it. Sounded like it, like he was being too physical or being like dirty, is the way it even sounded, like throwing his teammate under the bus. Like, ooh, it was hard. That didn't look good.

It was funny, but um it's just it's it's been the these three games as a whole have been fun to watch. And I I would imagine a lot of people out there, you you you keep an eye on the regular season, you're not you don't need to be locked in. You you jump in and out in the fourth quarter is when you know there's a close game. Um, but watching three NBA games like this in the playoffs has been appointment TV. It's been a lot of fun, so I'm excited.

Well that's well well said. Um, so the Knicks were five and a half point favorites tonight. Um I thought that number was actually pretty good. I think they opened at six and a half, and the money moved it down to five and a half. So, I mean, that five and a half sounds about right. Um I think I think the Knicks are gonna end up winning tonight. I think they'll cover, just my opinion. I I just I have a feeling I mean, I'll be really, really impressed if the Cavs win tonight. Uh after you know what happened in game one. It almost felt like that was uh you know, not only game one, it almost felt like that was a series, you know. So if they if they could come back and win tonight, that'd be pretty impressive. Um and uh, you know, like we talked about, I'm just looking really I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's game. Um, you know, the everybody was waiting for that series, everybody was hoping that series was gonna happen just because of you know how how the this the regular season series played out. And uh, like I said, living up to the hype, man. So looking forward to it.

Yeah, that that uh that play literally like the Cavs losing that game yesterday reminds me so much of like when the uh Cavs played the Warriors in the finals, and J.R. Smith had the mess up of like not remembering what the score was and could have laid it up and gotten a win. They went from like, oh shit, they're in the series in game one, they could have won game one to oh no, the series is over. They're just gonna they folded and died right after it essentially got blown out in the overtime and never had a chance after that. So it's shades of that. And unfortunately, it's for the same organization, so those fans just can't get a break.

Yeah, yeah, really look really looking forward to tomorrow night. I mean one one of Harper Fox really needs to play, and OKC is used to J Well being out, so they should be okay. Um, you know, again, the the UConn Homer is on the show. For every dumb thing, you know, because again, Castle's not a point guard, and I don't think he pretends to be one. He looks very uncomfortable bringing the ball up and and having to run the offense full court. Um, but man, when he turns the ball over, you you can almost guarantee the next play, he's just gonna go to the hoop and fuck somebody up. It's it's really it's been really fun to watch.

Um, all right. Well, who do you guys I mean again, uh Spurs minus two and a half. Who do you guys like tomorrow in that game?

I he doesn't necessarily have to have some role players, but he's gotta be that that good, I think, to win these games. I think the Thunder are just a better like overall team. But he is a freak of nature, man. It's fucking crazy to watch him play basketball. I was telling my wife yesterday, like, look how tall this guy is, and look how well he moves. She was like, he doesn't look real. Like he literally does look like an alien. I was like, yeah, that's literally his nickname. He's crazy. So he could, but I I like the thunder.

I'll tell you what, just quick, quick a quick aside, and it we went to see him. Um my teenager and I went to see him too his rookie year in Orlando when they came to town and played. And I I was worried because I knew they were coming off a back to back in Miami. I was worried he wasn't even gonna play, so I was excited to see him start. And I I think I text you, Jeff, numerous times, but I was like, this guy's tall, cool. Like that was it. Like he's just tall. Like he might as well be Mo Bamba. I watched the Wagner brothers like just completely dominate him. Like the Leicester Wagner brother dunked on him twice. And like I'm looking at Julian and we're just like, I I thought this guy was like gonna change the game. I don't understand. And he was so bad he didn't play the second half. And obviously there was probably some rest or whatever. And I was like, yeah, maybe we saw an anomaly, or this is just who he's gonna be. So comes to find out it uh it was an anomaly. He's really good at basketball.

No, no, I was gonna say I was what I was gonna say is like I know I I don't know if we're gonna get to this game or not, but what I did love tonight from a gambling standpoint, just because of how the first game went, is the over in this game. I I got it at 215. I think live it's up to like 220 right now.

So yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, don't count your chickens, man, because like I said, uh uh I I had a I had a game last week where I only needed uh I think Ash was on it too. We only we only needed 35 points in the fourth quarter, and uh they scored 30. I mean, so you you never know how this shit's gonna play out, you know. So good luck, Bubba. Yeah. Um all right, so that brings us to the hockey. Um during the you know, the uh conference finals in hockey as well. Um, like we talked about uh a little earlier, uh the uh the Avalanche uh got beat by the Golden Knights uh last night. So um looks like that might actually be a series. And then we got Montreal trying to uh bring the cup back to Canada. They're the only Canadian team left, and uh they're dealing with the hurricanes uh tonight, I believe. So, Tyler, uh what do we got going on in hockey?

Um the West is those two teams are really good. They're gonna duke it out. There's gonna be some fights in that series. I don't think those two teams like each other. Uh that will f I see that go in the distance at the very least six. Um they'll they'll trade back and forth. Um where I'm at right now is I think the Canadians might just be like some kind of creepy team of destiny kind of thing, of just like they keep winning these series that they theoretically are un like they're they don't have the skill necessarily to beat the teams they're beating, and they're winning, and they're the pucks falling their way, and their goalies keeping them in games, playing well. He's young, he's like 19. Um so they're getting great goalie play. Um they're they're up in game one right now, four to one in the first period. Um so they come out game one when the hurricanes, now the hurricanes have had like it seems like three weeks off from playing hockey. So I'm sure that's a little bit of a factor, maybe. But the Canadians have played in two game seven series um at this point. So they're you could say the same thing with tired legs on the other side. Um and they're coming out punching them right in the face. Canadians um went into today's game. I believe the stat was the um The Hurricanes were the biggest favorite in a conference finals game. Um they're minus 200 moneyline in game one. In the last 20 years, it's the third highest game one price in a conference final um or a Stanley Cup. Um the other two teams won the money line, and they're down 4-1 right now, so they might be the first team to catch an L on that. So man, that's I I do expect the Hurricanes to bounce back, but the Canadians at this point seem like they just got some kind of horseshoe stuck up somewhere that is, you know, it's working out for them right now. And and a hot goalie is the most dangerous thing in hockey. It doesn't matter what you do otherwise. If your goalie stays hot, you can win games.

I just wish I would have bet the Canadians to win the cup pre uh pre uh Stanley Cup playoff start because they were probably you know 30 to 1 to win, maybe maybe higher. Um so crazy.

Yeah. Well, see what happens there. So um, alright. Uh, which brings us to baseball. Um uh Rays are still on fire. Uh Braves are still on fire. Phillies have been playing really good ball since uh they made the managerial switch. Um Otani um uh uh hit been hitting the ball recently and still pitching out of his mind. Although I think I mentioned this the other the last time we spoke, but he's because they're running a six-man, it's gonna be really interesting to see what happens with the Cy Young. I mean, obviously he's gonna have some hiccups uh as the year moves along, but um let's say he has a really good year, but he pitches, let's say, 60 innings less than the other the guys he's competing against. Uh it'll be curious to see if they actually give him some uh real consideration for the Cy, you know, because he's just not throwing as many innings as these other guys are. So um, but he started hitting, which I'm sure the Dodgers love because he's um he was he was not hitting the ball for most of the season, but the past three or four games he's getting two or three hits a night. So um now hopefully uh Judge will wake up from his slumber because he hasn't been doing much the past couple weeks uh himself. So um two two huge series this weekend. Um uh Dodgers playing at Milwaukee. Uh Milwaukee's having a really nice year, so that that'll be interesting. And uh then the Rays, who are um you know, currently up four games in the loss column, or maybe five games in the loss column on the Yankees, they're coming into the Bronx for a weekend series. So I mean the Rays, if uh you know, if they sweep the Yanks, which you know who knows, it's certainly possible, but if they sweep the Yanks, I mean, um you can't say that they're gonna win the division this early, but they're they're certainly a step in the right direction um if that happens. So um I don't know what you guys think. I mean, you guys uh Bubba, you've been paying attention to the Rays, I mean they've been on fire.

Yeah, it's kind of hard not to. They've been they've been making a lot of noise. So um but I tell you what, I did watch their game the other day, and um I mean, other than like two players, I don't know who the fuck is on the field for the race. Like it and it's it shouldn't shock anybody. We do it every fucking year with with with a team that's you know, a team full of I don't want to say nobodies, but just not well-known players. So it's pretty impressive what they're doing. Actually, their closer right now, he's got when I looked the other day, he's got 13 saves. I played with them at North Florida, and uh, and he was my roommate for a year, um, Brian Baker. So I'm I'm happy that he's doing well. It's been fun to watch them. That's one of the reasons I've been following him, but I will say this about the series coming up. It's in New York, and like you said, Judge has been kind of kind of cold. He usually is really fucking good against the Rays. So I'm gonna take him to hit some homers, probably in a couple games, and and and have some good games um and get the Yanks back on track. I'm not saying they're gonna win the games, but I think Aaron Judge is gonna have a big weekend.

Anyway, that that game went to extra innings too. Um it took a grand a walk-off grand slam by the Jays for me to get the uh the Jays uh minus one and a half win and the over seven and a half runs. So, like Tyler said, I mean, all four of those happening basically within like a half an hour of each other was just uh insane. And uh we're not gonna complain because we needed the victory. Um I'll tell you something else. I went seven and oh between those four games and uh categories we just went over. I had a nice yeah, seven and oh week. That's the very rare seven and oh week. So wow.
