A podcast of weekly recorded sermons from Bald Mountain Baptist Church. We are located in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, and we hope to utilize this platform to play some small role in carrying the gospel from our neck of the woods to the ears of those beyond our community and to the ends of the earth!

The Field of the Slothful
Proverbs 24:30-34
Talking about the heart, Solomon says in the book of Proverbs that a man who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls (Prov 25:28). When it comes to the Christian walk, our very hearts are like a walled city or in the case of Proverbs 24, a walled in field that must be maintained. Those who are slothful in their spiritual life will face the same dangers as those who are slothful in their physical lives. We must take care to diligently guard and tend our hearts that we might be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritual healthy and fruitful followers of Christ.
The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel!

We unfortunately began recording part-way through a long series on prayer, but have since moved out of that series and are on to wherever the Lord leads next. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
