Ron Reads Boring Books
Are you tired? You will be. Because I will read to you a boring book and it will be worse than you doing nothing. This podcast is not intended to entertain you. It is intended to bore you. The length of each podcast will vary so you cannot plan your listening easily. Some reads will be short. Some will be excruciatingly long. There will be no intro or outro music. The only sound is my voice and other random sounds as they happen. I change my voice as I read the dialog. Also, I have a southern accent and do not read well. Thank you for listening.

When We Deny Others What We Cannot Use
Ron Reads presents Aesop's fable "The Dog in the Manger," exploring the timeless lesson about selfishly preventing others from enjoying what we ourselves cannot use. This brief yet profound tale reminds listeners of the human tendency to begrudge others' happiness even when it costs us nothing to share.
• A dog takes a nap in an ox's manger, lying comfortably on the straw
• When the hardworking ox returns and tries to eat, the dog aggressively prevents it
• The dog has no use for the straw but barks and attempts to bite the ox
• The frustrated ox eventually leaves hungry, unable to enjoy its rightful meal
• The moral: "People often grudge others what they cannot enjoy themselves"

Hello, are you tired? You will be. I am. This is Ron Reads and I'm reading another boring or I'm reading boring a fable by Aesop. This one is called the Dog in the Manger. A dog, looking out for its afternoon nap, jumped into the manger of an ox and lay there cozily upon the straw. But soon the ox, returning from its afternoon work, came up to the manger and wanted to eat some of the straw. The dog, in a rage, being awakened from its slumber, stood up and barked at the ox and, whenever it came near, attempted to bite it. At last the ox had to give up the hope of getting at the straw and went away muttering. Ah, people often grudge others what they cannot enjoy themselves. This has been Ron Reads, another boring, or another boring book Aesop the Dog in a Manger. Thank you for listening. Please like, subscribe, share. Do all the things. Do what's right. Don't grudge others what you cannot enjoy yourself. Thank you.
