Congratulations. And Clint, who is behind the camera, acting all shy, shaking his head because he's why and I, you trying to be shy. But we are so thankful for that. You folks came a long way too. And thank you again. You stunning testimony that you both shared, and especially you, brother Kelly boy, about you know the anger and then the aloha. And I believe it was so high ranking, it got hundreds and thousands of hits because a lot of local people, I think anybody around the world can relate to how we are really angry with our family, but we're aloha out in public. Naming The Tormenting Voices

God has a download. You ready? And I was like, Well, now I'm a little afraid, but yes, normally I tell people I'm ready for the Lord Jesus. What is God doing fresh in your life and fresh on your heart?

Okay, so I looked at your notes of what we were supposed to talk about, and that wasn't on the agenda for God. Um, the word is tormenting spirits.

Tormenting spirits.

Okay, let's roll.

So recently, um, my son's been going, Capenna's been going through something, and he said, you know, why I asked him, I said, are there tormenting spirits? It's it's the spirit of that voice that constantly torments you, and it's just like on repeat, and it just it's there to um discourage you, to bring depression, anxiety, all the things, right?

Wow.

And he said yes, and I said I grabbed his head and I I started to pray. And I said, Lord, silence them right now in Jesus' name. And it just made me start to think about all of our children who are going through something. Many of our families, um, we can't explain why the children are being depressed, why are they anxious? Why are they fear, so much fear, and what is that? And it's a tormenting spirit, and so I wanted to bring scripture to back that up and bring answers to people today regarding that, if you're going through that right now.

You know, and I appreciate what you just said on every every single sentence, every single portion of that, Leolani, which her voice, um, her name means voice of heaven, Leo Voice, Lani Heaven. It's not just a beautiful singing voice, but it's a prophetic voice where she speaks on behalf of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. And so, what I also appreciate in what you just said is you'd love to help break down what is a tormenting spirit, because we're not in the business of um freaking people out. We're not here to be clickbait, we're not here to give the devil undue attention or affection. We don't worship him, we work for the King of Kings, as I said. So some people may not understand what that means.

Um, so it's it's an attack. And can I just take you quickly through a personal um experience of mine so we can kind of break that down in my life?

Aneurysm Survival And Aftershocks

Um, so 20 24 years ago, I suffered a brain aneurysm. And um, the doctor told my husband before surgery she has a 50-50 chance of living. And if she does live, she might have paralysis, she might have seizures, she might have a memory loss.

So he doesn't know the version that's going to come out of that surgery. But that's our choice to go through surgery, and we did. And and that's a whole testimony in itself. Right. Um and it was a shock. It was oh no, it was. We just came home from Israel uh on a Thursday, uh, Sunday morning. Me, my husband, and Papa Kahu are bringing forth the word, and I was fired up, like ready. And I got on the pulpit and the spirit of death touched my head. I felt it. Wow, I knew it. Um, and I never got to preach that day, the day that I came home from the Holy Lands. And but something happened in the Holy Land where God had equipped me for this battle. And so that's who we serve a God who knows what's ahead of you, and he already puts you in a place where you could just feel the spirit of God so deep that when you're faced with um a crisis, you know exactly what to do. So, in uh getting prepped for surgery, my husband whispers in my ear because the doctor takes him out the room, doesn't want to upset me. Wow, but Jesus tells Kelly Boy, you tell her what she's facing. Because I was a prayer warrior, so I can pray for myself. That's right. I thought I went in for the flu symptoms, vomiting and headache. And so my husband whispers in my ear, you have a brain aneurysm and you have to go through brain surgery.

And he he makes that choice and he says, All I say is okay. And he goes, Who faces a crisis? And that's your answer, okay. But before that, in that moment, I heard that I was a transcriptionist when I first met my husband, which is like a medical secretary who types out all the reports. So I've done the reports on people who have suffered aneurysm. I know it's fatal many of the times. And if they do survive, there's so many things after. Yes. And so I knew exactly what I was facing, and I and my prayer was, where are you? And and the Holy Spirit wasn't next to me, in front of me, behind me. He was within me, and he answered and he said, I'm right here.

And when I received that word, I'm right here. I knew whether I whether I get healed on the other side of heaven or this side of heaven, I'm gonna get healed. I'm gonna get healed. I had to fall in the arms of my Jehovah Rohi, the shepherd, because he promises um in Psalms 23 um that no matter what we go through, yea, do I walk to the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

And so I come out of that surgery, healed and whole. Hallelujah. Wow, however, the enemy tells me, You almost died. Okay, which is a true statement. Yes, but he ended it with a period right there, and I should have concluded that sentence and said, but I didn't. Amen. But I didn't say that. And so the thought process was, I almost died. And in that moment where I allowed him to speak to me and say, I almost died, period.

Half-Truths That Fuel Fear

For 10 years after that, I had tormenting spirits because I had doubted God in that moment, and now my posture shifted. I almost died. Why would God allow this? Why did he let this happen? Why, why, why? For 10 years I suffered with tormenting spirits who would come in me and say, if you didn't see that coming, what else are you not gonna see coming? What else is so tormented day and night, night and day, and I didn't know how to fight until I found the scripture verse, hallelujah, that said, I bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. But in the 10 years, I didn't know that scripture.

So for 10 years I was fighting these thoughts inside of my head, fighting and battling for my life. But I'm here to tell you that that is because when you start to doubt God, that's what happened in the Garden of Eden. Come on, it was a part of a true word, but it was still when you when you bring half of a true word, it's still false. Wow, that's right, because it's a half-truth, and the truth is a lie. It's a lie, yes. So the lie was you almost died, but I didn't. But I didn't. I rose victorious in Jesus. Amen. I should have been able to, but I I couldn't truth. Yeah, but I couldn't, and because I was postured in my mind against God, because I almost died for 10 years I suffered. You questioned, and I questioned God, and so in that place I was tormented day and night and night and day, and it would just drop in my spirit. And so I'm here to say that it does happen when we're out of alignment with the word of God, when we're out of alignment with the spirit of God, things like that can happen. Like King Saul, the Lord shared King Saul with me this morning, that he also, once the Spirit of God left him, a tormenting spirit came in. And here comes little David, also known as King David later, and he brings in an instrument.

My husband's like, why did I come right here? And he brings in an instrument, and when he starts to play his it's a weapon in his hand. The instrument now it is for celebrations. It but I'm here to say that my husband has been at every graduation party with his ukulele, every first birthday party, every celebration of life, so many wonderful things. But his ministry is about to start with a weapon in his hand, is going to remove tormenting spirits in the in the atmosphere.

Wow. Now, thank you, Leolani. That's a whole lot of whole lot of. I I feel like I'm drinking from a broken fire hydrant in a really good, powerful way, right? That you came guns blazing, and I said, you know, in my life, in your folks, Ohana, in a lot of families who are joining us and watching, or even those who are sitting in the studio, there has been the devil has been doubling down. He's big time, buckle loose for broke right now, right?

Discernment In A Deceptive Moment

It's it's unreal and uncanny. I almost cannot believe some of the stuff that's happening.

Yeah.

And yet, when you walked in and you said you had this word, I said, bruh, the devil is going double down. You better double down on the devil.

Yeah, because what you're speaking about is deception. Yeah. And we would read about it, yeah. We'd read about it. Like in the last days, there's gonna be a great deception. The deception, you guys, is so deceiving that those who are deceived don't even know they are.

And even the elect shall be led astray and deceived. It's right here, right now. And I always tell people in my Bible studies or in the women's audiences I speak to, or even in churches like Moak Chapel, with Pastor Guy Capelliella, right? The big boys come out. I said, take your finger, put it on your nose, and point at yourself. And now, when I say the elect, you're looking at yourself. I have a high regard and a respect for everyone I speak to. However, you're you're on notice, you just got served. You better watch.

I just got deceived myself. That's a whole other podcast. We're not gonna talk about that today, but I'm saying that even when you think you can't be deceived or you're not in deception, guess what, babe? You're in the middle of your deception. Exact, exactly. I love that.

I tell you, and small side note, I gotta do this real fast, is I have worked with the best of the best Portuguese, and they are God's anointed people. I work with Kelly Boy Delima. One Bad Choice Away

It's um it just feels like time is short. You know? Um, if you really think about it, I remember Leo telling me that she heard a pastor say, We're all one bad choice away from losing it. All why one bad choice. One bad choice, you made it.

One bad choice. We're all we're all we're all one bad choice of losing it. Yeah, losing it all.

And when you talk about all, I mean salvation, yep, the kingdom, you know what I mean? One bad choice.

You're not even talking about all the stuff here on earth, like your bank account, your cars, your eternity.

That's not even on the city.

That's nothing. It's salvation, right?

Yeah, that you're talking about. You know, when I think about that, I I keep myself ma cau cow. You know, I'm like, yeah, you know, I'm really like, Lord, please. I, you know what I mean? We see, you know, all kinds of things happening around us, you know.

Um in families that we know and love.

People that have been born and raised in the church, you know what I mean? Um people that have that go going to church, you know what I mean? And and you see it infiltrating the church and infiltrating every every single thing, this demonic, you know what I mean, um, take over, you know. And uh I really believe that, you know, and I've been praying to the Lord, please don't let me be one of those, Lord. Yeah, you know, because I don't want to make a bad choice, Lord. I want to choose you. Yes, you know, and I always always read, you know, um go back to where I came out of, you know. I thought the Lord, bro, I came out of enough junk. You sure did crap. You know what I mean? I've been through everything that, you know what I mean, the drugs, the violence, you know what I mean? Everything. I mean, you just could the list will go on. And and and people know my my story, but um I don't wanna ever, you know what I mean? I you know what I mean. That's not my you know, I don't wanna go back to that life. I don't wanna fall. I wanna finish the floor. I don't I wanna finish the Lord, yes, you know. I wanna be the example now to the next generation, my generation, to my grandchildren that you know Jesus, um, you know, we live for Christ, you know, we gotta live for the Lord, you know, we gotta just um continue to um you know continue, you know what is the key? You gotta read your word, man. You gotta be you know, you gotta be in the word, man. Yes, you don't every day, every day, you know what I mean. It's the washing, it's the soap that yeah, that's the one clean you, that's the one keep you accountable. Yes, that's the one, you know what I mean. I mean, people go, ah, I went church, you know what I mean? But you you gotta you gotta take,

You know, Papa always used to tell us, he said, you know something? I'm preaching you to you today, but no believe one thing that I said. Oh, please don't.

He said, Go home, read your own word. Wow, and he said, then if you disagree with me with about about something, yeah, then we come back and we negotiate and we talk about it. And have a discussion, discussion, and we talk it out.

And as Jesus said, as iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend in the word.

That's a good word. You know, Papa always used to, he had some, he wasn't a man of um, he wasn't on scholar. This guy was never, he was never a scholar, but bro, this guy, he's kind his kind of grassroots kind of explanations. He had the school of hard knocks, right?

He had the real life education, real community. Not a seminarian, didn't go Bible colleges, but he was the school of hard knocks.

He was, you know, and and he did that with us for our whole ministry. Like, you know, like I remember communion table one time when we all just got ordained, you know. I got ordained as a deacon in my church and or evangelist first, and then we went into um three-day three nights. That's how we used to that ordain our ministers, you know. Wow, and um the pule hamao and the pule hamao and the fascin, but we go into three-day, three nights, you know, eat, you know, drink three days, three nights, and you is that the one you guys don't even brush your teeth? Nothing.

Well, they luck us in the church with our Bible learned.

The church, you know, come out, yeah, you know, see nothing. Wow, but heavy. Yes, you know, hallelujah. Um, twice we did that. Leo did them three times.

Um, she got ordained uh the hopikahu um for the church. I was an evangelist. I started off, and and trust me, um, when I got asked, you know, to become the evangelist of my church, done. I had no other way but to say yes. Oh, yeah. Because the Lord told me, bruh, if you don't take this opportunity right now, you either gonna die, you're gonna be in jail. You know, that right there was my last chance, really. It was my last chance to Kelly boy. I didn't know that. You know, didn't know that. And then I I I you know, and I remember I remember the first time serving the the communion. You know, we also fast when we do our communion. Um, we do 11 to 11 fast um every um first Sunday of the month. We've done that. The Hawaiian Protestant Church has done that for you know decades, right?

And the Bible says to examine yourself. Yeah, examine. That's right. You cannot examine yourself when you're watching TV or you get worn out. You know what I mean? So social media, you know what I mean?

And then you don't get to go on our TV or anything. You know what I mean?

So we we really all we can do is read the Bible. We cannot even go on top the you know, seller our our our phones and go look up.

I know I tried calling her the other day. I was like, I really need to know and then after 11, sorry.

So anyway, Papa tells me one time, um, he tells he just throws things on us, this guy. Like, it sounds like um, he goes, serve the holy communion. No, you gotta pour a you know what I mean? And this is holy communion. Amen. You know, this is set apart, you know the word holy community. It means to be set apart. Yes. He said, You don't do, you know, do this unlike any other thing you do in the church. This right here is sacred. That's right. This is sacred. He said, Don't spill that wine. No, don't, you know what I mean? If that thing falls on the floor, you pick them up and you hold them, and and the Kahu will eat that communion that fell on the floor or whatever. Because it's the body of Christ, you know, and um, so we were, you know, and this bugger go tell me if we go set up the holy communion, bruh, and I'm shaking. I'm like, you know what I mean? Serving the bike. You know, I mean, bruh, it's like, you know, we that's how he taught us. You know what I mean?

He was a sink or swim kind of pastor, yeah, yeah, yeah.

But heavy, you know what I mean? Heavy, Don. You know, I remember, you know, I remember one thing that I always keep with me in my life, what Papa taught me one time I was having problems with people in the church, you know. I mean, to the point where, bruh, I want to. Personality, yeah, personality. And I was like, bruh, I like hero. You know what I mean? Like, I like hero. I'll be honest. How honest you are. I like hero. You know what I mean? I like beat them up, you know what I mean? And um, I didn't, we never, you know what I mean? I wasn't, you know. And uh, I came to my my father-in-law and I was like, bruh, dad, I'm you know what I mean. And um I remember going through this, that season, you know, of of anger, like, you know, I really know that the devil wanted to pull me back into the world. He was gonna leave church. He was gonna leave it. I was gonna leave church and everything. And and I explained to him one night at on Bible study. You know, I was outside the Bible study and I said, We couldn't hear everything, you know. We're like trying to read our Bible and he's and I told him, and he's and he and he looked at me and he told me something. He said one thing to me, he said, you know something, and and I remember this was I was going through depression, I think I broke my leg on a motorcycle accident too, because that was when I I fell on Kaweepa Street. Uh and I got into the Shepherd Street.

And uh you know, that's kind of where the Lord kind of went see totally just took me down, broke, broke the lamb's leg, you know, the shepherd. Bless the Lord. And uh anyway, so I was going through a lot, you know, during that time, and I remember his answer to me, and I said, He and I said, bruh, I'm I'm so no, I he, you know, so I told him, he goes, he looks at me like this, um, do you want this all to end? He tells me like that. And I tell him, yeah, like this all end. Because bruh, I'm I'm pissed, you know? And he goes, then step off the pulpit and stop preaching the gospel.

And then I looked at him and I said, But I couldn't, Don, because if I go step off the pulpit, that means debt. Just like what God told me before I got, or I was getting well before in our church, you're asked, would you take this, would you want you had to say no?

You can say no.

No, yeah, we don't just choose, you know what I mean, anybody you know, you get a dreams, you get showing, sign, and then wonders, yes, somebody else get confirmation. Yes, you know what I mean? Yes, you know that's very godly and biblical. You know, the somebody get the kind. So I got I got confirmation that I was gonna get the kind. However, yeah, if you don't take up that cross. If you don't want to want to take up, there's been many that right walked away from it. The calling, you know. But that's when God told me. Um, he said, Kellyboy. And that's how we talk, local, pigeon, you know what I mean, brother. That's how we that's how God talked to me. I don't know about you guys, but you know, brother, listen. Okay. You know, either this or you're gonna die or you go in jail. That's what he told me. The Lord said that to you. Right into my heart, when Khalil. When no, when when when they were in the church and he goes, You accept to your calling to be the evangelist. And I looked at him and God talked to me, and he said, Wow. And I looked at him and I said, Yeah, I accept.

And um, so anyway, here is this again now, right? Late years later, I'm I'm in this place, and he looked at me and he said, Give you like a Mossar. He said, get off the pulpit. And I looked at him and inside of my heart I said, I know what off the pulpit means. And uh do that. And he said, I'm gonna tell you one thing. He told me remember this. There's a heavy, heavy price to pay for the anointing. You're gonna feel like the ones that love you the most is against you. You're gonna feel like your own children is against you. You know, and I was going through all of that because I remember sitting at home that just the night before, and Kalena was small, and she walked past, and I said, Can Daddy have one of Kalena? And she looked at me, she goes, No. She told me like that. And I was like, She was like two. She was like two, or two. But bruh, at that place where I was, I was really entertaining going back to my home in Waianae and all my cousins and all the stuff that I had down there that how I was living. You know what I mean? You know? And I'm not throwing Waianae under the bus, but that's just all where they lived, you know what I mean? My family, you know? And that's where I know that I could go get all kinds, you know what I mean? You know, I could get all my stuff, you know what I mean, from and you know. Um, and when he told me that, you know what I mean? It was you know that thing when it just plucked me out, like that word. Come on. Today I I I live and I live for by what that, you know what I mean, that Kauna that he gave me, that that message that he gave me, you know that's so deep, you know, so heavy. There's a heavy price to pay for that.

That's a living, active word of the Lord, as it says that the word of the Lord is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword. Papaka, who spoke that mana to you in that moment when you were at a crossroads, Kelly boy, it changed your then, it's changing your now.

This guy was not one scholar, like I said, Don. You know what I mean? He was just grassroots, you know what I'm saying, like this kind of past the Hawaiian man that you know what I mean. He just told me, you know, and how did he know that? You know what I mean? Only God, right? Only God, yeah. Only God. Only God. He said he spoke to the exact same thing, to the very even the ones, because those people that I was having problems with in my church was family. Wow, you know, they were family, and you know, and I remember, you know, my wife telling me, you know, something, honey, he said, they're never gonna change. I said, Brad, they just, you know, they get negative, you know, always negative, you know, the words that they spew sometimes.

They know the right buttons to push.

Yeah, they know the right buttons to push, right? Because they're right, and used to just make me so upset, you know. She goes, You only let that get you upset because you allow that to the kind. She said, She said, they're never gonna change. And you know what, till today, they never change. But I love them because who changed? She said, You gotta change. They all told me that. Wow, that was another good one that you know. Wow, you gotta be the change.

Amen. You know, you have to be the change, even though you know you're speaking a right now Rhema word, that's what we call it in Christendom. Forgive me, aloha alive ohana, for using Christianese. I used to get uh cut cracks from Pastor Wayne Cordero. Don, you know all these highfalutin words, you know, all this Christianese. I need you to bring it down to the regular level. But what I'll say is a right now word. Literally, this morning, I had a blood family member tell me, No, it's all your fault. You the one who got angry, you did this, refuses to apologize and basically ends our relationship. And I'm thinking to myself, Kelly Boy, as I'm listening to you talking about being in church with your family. Me and my family, my sisters, we're ministers of Christ, but we also know how to scrap, we know how to push each other's buttons, and I'm watching, as you said earlier, sister Leolani, there's some falling away that's happening because some of the lifestyle isn't matching up to the Bible. But in the midst of her texting me back how wrong I am, how angry I was, how I and I had apologized for my portion, but she said, and I don't want anything to do with you, the ministry. And I said, Oh, do you still need a place to stay? Do you need this? And um, as you just were saying, Kelly boy, you know, it's a heavy price to pay. And I was ministering at the Kohine retreat a couple Saturdays ago. Blessy, you were there. Was a very small group of women coming and every single one of them in pain, Kelly boy, in pain because of family situations and all that's going on in this world. I mean, gas prices is the least of these concerns, and it's pretty expensive, right? But my blessie looks right at me in the middle of this word now, and she goes, Donnie, your circle is getting smaller, uh-huh. And I actually stopped. Remember that? I look straight at you. You were right there in front of maybe 15 women, and I went, You right. You're right, my blessie, Leolani. Gosh, I had to think about it for a second because guard your heart with all due diligence, says the Lord's word. But I don't let any word come into me, but I tested it and it was true. And and with the great falling away that's going on, even within our own families, yet, as you said, Kelly Boy, which is so critical, I gotta highlight it with a most holy highlighter, with God's highlighter, is we still love we gotta hate the sin, but we love the sinner so much because I used to be, and I still am the foremost of sinners, right? So as we come to this table today, it's not with a high mucka mucka, holier than thou attitude of I got it, I'm perfect. I started the letter to that sister saying I am the foremost of sinners, the least of saints, and I'm far from perfect. Please don't hear that as I write you this, but I love you enough to tell you this is going on, and we gotta we gotta come together as ohana and talk about it. Thank you guys for being so real today. I know we're all walking through, as you said, yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, but we're gonna call it out. We're gonna call out the truth so that other families can look and say, Oh, I thought Kelly Boy and Leolani and the Capenna family, they always look so happy on stage. They don't know the price we're paying in the car, driving there, checking your team.

And if you're a Christian pastor family, as you are Deacon Delima, Hope Cahus, so associate pastor um Leolani, you guys have an even the biggest target of all. Because if I can take them out and make all three of their kids and all of the kids' spouses and their moopuna, their grandkids, go out and act the fool in public and start using substances and vaping and using dabs and using all this stuff and and getting into drugs, let me be specific, then then I can take out your witness and your testimony. And that's where I was speaking yesterday to a young influencer and a nephew that we all know and love, and trying to seed into his life and feed into his life because he's walking through a crossroads moment like you were when Papa Kahu dropped that word on you, that you could walk away and it'll get a lot easier. He's not walking away, but I came alongside to encourage him because we gotta look over and start talking to our youth and being very real. I said, sweetie, I used to be into drinking a lot, it just doesn't help, right? I never once woke up and thought, gee, I'm so glad I had drinks last night.

Yes. How do you battle it? Exactly that. Word, worship, and warfare. And you know, in 2 Chronicles 20, we see King Jehoshaphat before they go out to war. You got all the military men lined up, and then they say, Kelly boy, go in the front and pray. That's right. What? Yes, what the ministers came out, the musicians came out and they praised the Lord and they worshiped in front of the military. The military was behind the musicians, the worshippers. Yes, and what happened? They won the war.

They killed each other. Yes, God went and annihilated the enemies. And so we what do we do in those circumstances? We we wash with the word of God, we worship, amen. And then warfare is not, we're not fighting, God's fighting for us. And so I just thank God for just all the scriptures he was dropping in my spirit this morning saying, even Jael, the little girl, yep, the little girl who took down the um commander of the king. Yes, the evil king, Sisera, all the men around running around looking for him. Yep, and she goes, just come inside my tent. And he goes, Can I get something to drink? She said, sure. She gives him uh uh some warm milk, yeah, which you know is gonna make you fall fast asleep. What did she have in her hands, you guys? She was a homemaker, she put the tent up every day, brought it down. She was good with the tent peg and the hammer, and that's exactly how she killed the biggest enemy of her people at that time. That's right, a little girl. And so don't ever discount who you are and just think, well, what am I? What do I have? His weapon might be an ukulele in his hand, but God has given you something in yours as well. The weapons of warfare is worship. If you just get on our knees and just pray, if you're gonna see me, you see me right now sending this, but in the spirit, I'm gonna tell you right now, my face is to the ground, praising him because this was a hard word he just dropped in my spirit this morning. This was not planned, but it was planned by God that we could bring forth a word that I know, families, you guys are going through warfare. You guys are fighting on the front lines, but what you need is the armor of God, that's the only way we're gonna win with the helmet of salvation, the sword of the spirit, the shield of faith, the breastplate of virtuousness, the belt of truth, and the feet shot of the preparation of the gospel of peace. But the biggest thing we need is prayer. Amen. And so that's how we win wars. We win wars in the name of Jesus, from the blood of Jesus that was already poured out for us to have all the victory, and we fight on the side of victory. Hallelujah. That we've already won the victory in Jesus' name.

I love that you spoke that word of the victory coming from the side of victory because we're not just we're not giving the devil undue attention or affection. We don't worship him, we don't give him one second extra on the clock. We give all our worship to God, and the the overflow, the byproduct is he is defeated. Yes. Thank you for speaking that strong word. Wow, we went to church today, family. That was strong. And that's in the midst of, and I just want to bless you both and say this that it was in the midst of the fire that the three men saw the fourth man. Jesus walked with them, where those three young boys were thrown into the fire. It was when they were thrown into the lion's den and the lions were starving. Bruf, you know when hungry tongues, imagine that's when hungry lion that they would have snapped them as they were dropping. Only God could save them. But you worship amidst the storm, you worship amidst the pressing. And I bless both of you because that is one of the words God has given me as you brought the word about the tormenting spirit. You even talked about the spirit of death touching you at that moment when you went through your brain aneurysm surgery. And I love how Kelly Boy highlights, brah, I don't know anybody else who gets that news and says, okay, like the fierce and fearless spirit of the Lord that's on you. Like, if this is where the Lord God has brought me, we're gonna walk through. Yes. That the Lord has got you. But I love that I'm gonna bring this word and say that the Lord recently showed me a lot of the worship in these hard times is the pressed oil. That's how you get oil from um olive trees, right? Which was where Jesus prayed the last night, the Garden of Gethsemane. You have to press that little olive in order for it to emit that oil. In order for us to get fine wine, you have to press a grate to get and you are going through the pressure, but it comes out as praise. And that is the most holy oil that the Lord the living God sits in the Holy of Holies in the temple of the King of Kings, and he burns before himself the only the most high anointed incense. It is reserved only for God. You've never even seen it in the most finest places in France or on the most expensive places where you buy all these brand names. You cannot get this. And the Lord burns it before him. And it also says, I'm gonna double down blessing on both of you right now. Not only have you given him that pressed oil that burns before him, but it says, and the prayers of his people are burned in the golden bowls before him in that holy of holies. And you just said that. It's in the worship, word, warfare, it's in the prayer, in the praises, and in prophesying.

Kapena School And Homeschool Growth

Because we can learn how to play ukulele, we can learn how to sing, play bass, all these things. But you guys have a homeschooling element that's coming in. Is that true?

Yeah, it was uh Lilo's brainchild because her child is five and she wanted more for her for little winter rain, and so she this year's her first year. She's um doing a wow a uh summer uh enrich enrichment. Is it summer?

No, it's uh it's a homeschool program. So Winter's in a homeschool um curriculum right now, currently. This it's called Ho'O'Ulu. Um you know, I I I not taking the credit for it, but I told Lilo for um, you know, Capena School of Music has been open for about four years, going on five. Um I told Lilo, I said, the students come after school is done, you know. So I said, why don't you start like a homeschool? Over at you know at the Capena School of Music, you know, talk to Kalena.

And um, you know, do it in during that time. And I told her this few years back, a couple years back. And um, she, you know, she was like, Oh, that sounds good, dad. But then when the daughter starts getting to five years old, you know, and it's like it's getting real now. So basically, what this school is, is like like I said, winter is still in the curriculum, starting the curriculum of the um the homeschooling thing. I love that, and that's on their time, right? Yes, what Ho'Olu is is to bring your kids over there so that you can go on, um, um mingle with other children. Yes, the socialization, the socialization. Um, Lilo is providing excursions, wow, picture taking. I want to sign your book, your book, even dances. You know how they do the first dance with you know, dad, daughter.

She's just incorporating that kind of stuff um into this, into this um school, this homeschool, uh, um activity. So she's got all kinds of stuff.

Bilo, and um, you know, because it's a non-profit um organization, there's been um donations already. I mean, Lilo just got, I think, um a grant for uh 20 iPads for her first, you know, for her kids. And um it's just you know, because of Kapena School of Music and Kalenaku, bless her heart, has um established such a wonderful school, you know, over there. It's an award-winning school. Yeah, they won a couple of Nahuku Hanuhano uh awards, and um we have about I think she has about 300 students. I teach, I teach me and Leo teach once once a week uh ukulele class for um for the youth and for um adults, and even Kupuna. Yeah, Kupuna on Saturday with Kahu Dani, yeah. So um, you know, it's just a a center of um um learning and and you know, just um growing and it's growing style.

Yeah, when I'm on shows and stuff, she goes and teaches my class, but that's not too often, but she does.

I loved it. Um, but it is very ohana factor because you have Lilo teaching the Red Queen, you got Penabu in there, you have, of course, Kalena Ku and her wonderful hubby, yeah, right, Parish. So it's the ohana factor that really is the glue that makes it different because you can go to music school, you can go online, DIY, a bunch of things, but it's nice to be family and you guys care for everybody. And the beauty and the smartness of Ho'ulu homeschooling is yeah, now the kids can come during the day because usually they would have to wait till after school to come to music lessons.

Yeah, and it's it's um, I think Lilo has um, I think she was um capping it off at about 20 students. She's she's at about 17 or 18 students that have signed up already for the year. It's the first year, but it's gonna it's almost sold out, it'll be sold out by the time this comes out. It would it it will be, yeah. Uh, but you know, I thought I thought it was such a great idea and a different angle that Lilo is because she was thinking, yeah, my daughter, she's already homeschooling winter. When winter was two years old, she was, you know, yeah in the curriculum.

And I said, You know, you can have an adult conversation with her, and she holds your own. Remember, we were at May Day over at the um at the Capiolani Women's and Children's. Right. And you and I went to the bathroom because, of course, it's meeting in the ladies' room, right? And I said, Blessie, you want to go bathroom? And normally I don't go to the bathroom with other women, but uh for whatever reason, she's my blessie, I can be my full self. And then winter rain came, Leolani the third, and then she was um taking a little longer in the stall, and uh Mama D, who is grandma, goes, Oh, baby, you pow, you need help. You and you know, she was she was doing something that took a little longer, so we were both waiting after washing our hands, and she goes, Wait, Auntie Donnie, I gotta tell you something. She's shouting from the stall, and I go, Oh, okay. And then Mama D goes, wait, what you gonna tell her? Oh, I'm gonna tell her that thing about such and such, so and so. And she goes, Oh, yeah. And this lady turns around, looks right at me, and she goes, You're gonna get ministered to by this word. Go ahead, baby, minister right now. And I was like, Oh, oh, this is going very fast for me. I gotta keep up. I'm getting tag teamed by the Leolanis over here.

That when you invest in your Keiki, as Lilo has been investing and Sua has been investing, you're gonna see somebody who really turns your head around when, and this is not to speak um negatively too much, but when you look at the national statistics about education right now, since 2020 COVID lockdown, you see even the state of Hawaii, unfortunately, our kids are on average one grade behind. We've fallen backward. They're saying now, I saw um another headline in the news that kids entering college, right? So you've graduated high school, they can't even read a book. They're not able to keep up. Where we see cheat GPT, oh I'm sorry, chat GPT and AI, and I saw a meme that was making me laugh because it says, Your future doctor is using chat GPT to take his exam. So start running and eating healthy right now. But then you meet somebody like Winter Rain who's being homeschooled by two parents who love her and are raising her up in the way that she should go in the Bible. This is giving me hope for the next generation. All right, last question we drop on all, and that's Capenna School of Music, and they also now have a new development in Ho'Oulu homeschooling. Um, I hope you can get on the list because it sounds like it's getting run out, but maybe they'll get some more professors over there. But you both know Gillin Neff, and they're out there in Kahalu, John and see, and that's how locostile, you gotta say the family's name. We might just do a genealogical chant right now. A lay the Neff family. Okay, never mind. But she made this because she is um one of our Ohana, the viewing Ohana, and she it decorates our table. But when she left, she delivered it this morning for in time for this show today. I stood there just to say goodbye, and she rolled her window down, she slowed down and she said, That's how that's local style, is you don't just run back in your office, you don't just hurry back onto your phone, start taking pictures, doing a selfie with the thing. You stand there when somebody's leaving who's older, you respect, you love, and you say, bye, God bless you. Always do that. That's you do, you do, but not everybody does, Kelly boy. And I didn't even realize I was doing it, which qualifies me as a kupuna. I'm officially an old person now, and that's okay because I'm anti-Don. That's just that is aloha.

And I'm coming to you next, Blessy. But last story to prove your point and and the things that we do that we don't realize we do. Yesterday, my nephew and I went to um Hope Chapel Kahalu, which you folks go and you're with them, right? You work on the windward side with all the churches. Darlene Kukahiko, yeah, her husband, El Dean, used to be pastor, he was chaplain with HPD. And we were talking, and we were saying, you know, when we were small, used to be back in the day, when somebody would say, Whose child is this? Instantly my two butt cheeks would marry, they would become one. I would tense up so fast because I knew I was gonna catch dirty lickings, which in English means you were gonna get a disciplinarian lesson on your backside. I was gonna get spanking so bad. Or the other half of that is if somebody says, Whose child is this? Right? You knew, but she said, Don, that's why we came out really blessed. That's why we have a strong work ethic and we have respect for our kupuna because it was instilled to us from a young age, and it's in the Bible spare the rod, spoil the child, but you gotta raise them up in the way they should go, and that's what that is. That's local culture. So, yes to you, everything you just said, Kelly boy. Thank you for saying it. Yeah, okay, blessy.

Becoming Daily Ambassadors In Public

Your turn. Where do you see aloha today?

I think aloha is flourishing, and um it I look at aloha as um something personal that you carry the aloha, you impart aloha, and you teach aloha. And so when I wake up in the morning, it's like Joseph with the coat of many colors. You put it on, you put your aloha on, and it'll dictate how you drive, how you greet people, yes, how you uh receive people, how you help.

Um and not only that, but to have Kulyana to teach the next generation this is how we do it here in Hawaii. And so it's a privilege and honor. I remember watching um a woman on Instagram talk about Hawaii, and she said, if you ever want to know one place you have to go, it has to be Hawai'i. And she said, when I went there for the first time, I got off the airplane and she said it was beautiful. It was everything they said, the the beauty of those islands, the people in those islands, how how beautiful they are. But she said, there's something when you touch ground, you can feel it. Yeah, that's the aloha spirit.

And so we are um we have been given the duty to um um continue to live this way. We have been given um the honor and privilege to be the ambassadors of aloha. And so even at Hale Kulani, we we are performers there every Tuesday night, 5 30 to 8 30, you guys. Um and I feel like on those days, I feel like we're frontline aloha ambassadors. Maybe you are and um we get to interact directly with the visitors who come. And because Mama and Papa Kahu worked in Waikiki, we were um taught to respect the tourism industry because it fed our family. Wow. We we have a respect for that industry. We thank them for coming to our islands because they're bringing money into our islands that helps us feed our families. And so there is a uh a respect for them for coming, and we always try to impart something about aloha and who we are and just leave them, and the music already kind of speaks and goes ahead of us, but we're able to impart love and aloha and family and values, and and sometimes I even allow um them to know that we love the Lord Jesus Christ and we are Christians, and so um I just feel like we are um allowed to carry that spirit of aloha, which is the Holy Spirit, not only in our family, not only in people we meet, but even for for visitors, so that when they leave this place, they you know, and I remember what she said. She said, All the things are beautiful, but there's something special, there's something extra on top of us. It is not a burden to carry, it is a privilege, it is an honor to be an aloha ambassador for the Lord wherever we go. And so it is well and alive.
