Well guys, we want to tell you, you know, we we appreciate all the shares, we appreciate all the the ratings and reviews and comments, hit five stars on us on iTunes. Make fun of Brian's jeans. They're not that short, really. It's my they're scooping. You know, YouTube's been a good face too. We've got a lot of people watching on YouTube and checking them out. So we appreciate the reviews there too, guys.
SPEAKER_01You said this, and I'm like, and then he goes off, and I'm like, Do you understand what just came out of your mouth?
SPEAKER_02Do you understand that every day, multiple times a day, Brian Smith walks by me and just yells at me every day? And I don't know if that's gonna get us cooked off of Facebook, but here we are.
SPEAKER_00So just trying to uh get a facial expression um going. This is how my we uh it's every day. He literally says that every day.
SPEAKER_01Every day isn't that a guy thing though? If we get enough of us together, we're 12. Just like a fart boss. Like what yeah, what when we can watch it happen, just get four or five guys together with nothing to do, and the maturity level goes down.
SPEAKER_02Unless we have a mission to accomplish, it's just it's like well, it's like it's like ah, booty hole, like whatever. Like the most ridiculous stuff. Like my five-year-old says that all the time. He's like, ah, dad, booty hole. I'm like, dude, you can't be just walking around saying that. And he's like, Well, you're dad, and I'm like, ah.
SPEAKER_00Legacy crawled over my bed either Saturday or Sunday morning, I can't remember which one it was. And he he did this thing where he laid on his stomach and he had his legs spread, so his butts popped up in the air, and he just starts bouncing it around and just started going booty booty booty booty, and I'm like, Oh, what are we doing? Well, do you remember kindergarten? I think it was kindergarten cop, right? Uh with Schwarzenegger, was it way back in the day? In the it was like in a little kindergarten class or whatever it is, and he was like penises and vagina. And it's just the boys or hopefully.
SPEAKER_01He just stands up randomly, holds his hand up, he's like, boys have a penis.
SPEAKER_00And girls have a vagina and everyone. Yeah, that's that's the summation of the thing.
SPEAKER_02Here's the real though. Raising uh a little a little girl at my house that has an older brother. Oh, I'm like, it's just chaos because she's like, Yeah, like every time he like he like takes his shirt off and like he'll like he'll like be like, Dad, can we go like hit the baseball? I'm like, yeah, bro, like whatever, let's do it. He's like, let's take our shirts off and do it, and then little sis is like over there, like she's like, Yeah, oh my god.
SPEAKER_01That it'll hit an age, just wait, where they love and then hate each other. So we'd gone and done all this stuff. They'd watch the movie, Peace in the House. Kate and I went on this like walk, we start to walk and talk like three miles every night. Come back, he likes three miles, dude. He acts like tired. And then he uh yeah, I dropped my 40-pound. They think it's so cool I put a like a weight vest on, and then my daughter, who's eight, threw it on and started doing sit-ups. Like she just is like you're a minute. I'm like, this is gonna crush you. You're a minus you're a minnows. Um there's nothing happening in the house. And my son runs down the hall, she's on the on the couch, like winding down and puts his butt in her face, farts, jumps up and down ten times and sprints back down the hall. And then she's screaming and like getting over chasing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, welcome to your future. That sounds that I mean that like. He was bored for vibe. Exactly. Not to that exact circumstance, but that's in my ass like on a day-to-day basis.
SPEAKER_00The older siblings do make it interesting. The I don't know, it's been like it two years now or whatever, but Legacy uh was in his mom's car, I believe, but we were all in the same parking lot for some reason, I don't remember what it was. And um, Legend had gone over to tell Legacy bye, and instead of like just telling him bye, he lifts his shirt up and squashes his chest and belly against the glass, just being stupid. Just dude, just do it. Started saying ninnies on the glass. So now Legacy goes up to all the time to all the glass and all the doors and lifts his shirt up and says ninnies on the glass, ninnies on the glass, or if like he'll he'll be sitting at the counter the other day heading a shirt on and he just goes, My ninnies are cold. He's talking about his nips.
SPEAKER_02And you're like, You don't even have what are we talking about?
SPEAKER_01So I think my best boy story, because we all you've you've talked about Corey. Thad, you know Corey. Yes, we have a picture of him on a three-year-old's toilet over there for some reason on a mission trip, but he is helping somebody prank somebody's like wedding rehearsal, and he's dressed up like the Chick-fil-A cow.
SPEAKER_03Oh god.
SPEAKER_01But in order to go help him, because I have to help him put the head and all the stuff, like it's a big heavy costume. Yeah, we're in the middle of nowhere, no bathrooms. And Cade has to go to the bathroom, like, bro, welcome to being a man. We're in the country.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you can like drop by a tree, you can like hit those bushes over there. Like sticky, like, go by that, dude.
SPEAKER_01Taught him how to write his name on the asphalt. And so he goes out in the backyard every once in a while where it's private, right? And so he's just discovering manhood. And it's fine until you're 18. So what's not fine is like one random day we pull into Quick Trip with 8,000 cars going back and forth, and I'm like, oh man, I bet the bathroom's full because he's yelling. Because you have kids. Yeah. If anybody's ever had kids, you leave somewhere, you ask them if they have to go to the bathroom four or five times, you make them go into the bathroom, and then three minutes later, they're in a car, and like, oh my gosh, I have to go to the bathroom so bad I'm gonna pee on the car. And so that's what was happening. We will we get out of the car, and Tara's like, just let him go in the parking lot. Well, he's like five, and he's just learned how to do that, and so he fights tooth and nail and yells at me that he's not gonna go to the adult bathroom. And so the whole crux of this is I pick him up and put him into the the male bathroom like stall, yeah, and I'm in there, he's yelling at me, and good for men. I had like two or three guys, everything okay, and I'm like, and I got to broadcast. Yes, my wife promised my son he could pee on the concrete, and now he can't, so life is over. I am not beating my son in here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so at my at my in-laws, they have a pool, and so which is great, super fun, whatever. But Clark never wants to go inside to pee, and so he's like, Yeah, dad, I'll just go over here, like, no big deal. Well, my daughter wants to be everything that the brother is, so like she was like, Dad, I she was like, Dad, I have to pee. And I was like, Okay, let's go inside, and she's like, No, I want to go pee in the grass, like and I'm like, I mean, okay, like whatever, like we kind of gotta unbutton you. And she was like, Cool. There's no but there's no neighbors, so it's like fine, like no, not a big deal. But I was like, we gotta go over to this side of the house. Let me put my back to you, like whatever.
SPEAKER_01But it sounds like to me that you need to just go put kindergarten cop on. And when it gets to that part, be like, hey, so sweetheart, this is what this means.
SPEAKER_02Well, she they actively say they actively know the right words for what they are, which is totally fine for me, because I'm like, I'm never gonna like sugarcoat stuff around my kids and like just say what they are. Because like my wife's a teacher, so she's like, you know, kids will say weird stuff of like someone touch this. And they're like, what do you mean? And it's like that means they're getting like you know, sexually abused and whatever, and so we've been always like we're just gonna say penis and vagina and just call it what it is. And like here we are, and my two and a half year old, two and a half, and she's like, My vagina, and my golly, you're like only knows 21 words right now, and one of them is vagina.
SPEAKER_01Hey, we're we're just out here, out here doing the that's the struggle of young parents raising kids in this weird world now. Is like, listen, we're gonna talk about what DNA really is every day. And I think that's but I think that's right term, like full full truth, right environment, right context. And I think that's what you wanted to talk about today, right? Is using the the the quote unquote truth in the wrong context to the wrong audience to like for the probably the wrong objective, I would say. Yeah, I can't I just got I saw another post.
SPEAKER_02Just pop off right now, dude.
SPEAKER_00I saw another post with this same person we'll get to in a minute that just threw me off. I've I probably opened up the the cat's uh bag or whatever on it because now that I even looked at it, it'll algorithm me out of that deal. But I was gonna say a couple of comments on the fights this weekend, too, um, since that was a big thing. Mine or quick Gable Stevenson is a freaking beast. Yeah. Dude, he's a menace. He's a beast.
SPEAKER_01Because we thought he was a menace proving that yeah, I can out wrestle everybody, but I'm gonna knock everybody out till I get there.
SPEAKER_02Dude.
SPEAKER_01Until you make me wrestle.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if you've ever if you I know Brian does like watch the NTA wrestling, like the tournament and stuff. He was a freak.
SPEAKER_00He was he's so much stronger than he looks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He's so fast too for being so big. Like he's so fast.
SPEAKER_01He's faster than Daniel Cormier was. He's a modern agility and modern heavy weight.
SPEAKER_00Well, unbelievable. He's like these guys that come out to the combine that are weighing, you know, 270, 300, and they run a faster 40 than a regular size guy that runs, and they're like, How is he doing it? I'm like, these guys train at such a high level.
SPEAKER_0137, 300 pounds.
SPEAKER_00They're forces to be reckoned with. Gable's only hit on him that's been throughout the last couple years after the Olympics and his collegiate career was is he's gonna be too bit, too much of a pretty boy to go fist fight. That's always been the thing. Because he's kind of a pretty boy. If you were to watch him, see his interviews, he's kind of um soft is the wrongest word ever to say, wrongest is not a word either, but but I can't think of a better one to the label him with. He's just sweet. He's a sweet guy, he's very PC.
SPEAKER_02Well, he's he's PC is a good one to say. He's well put together, well thought out, well like he communicates well in terms of that too.
SPEAKER_00He just doesn't look rough, but clearly what he showed um Saturday is gonna be one of the most um probably most important attributes he'll need to fight in the heavyweight division of the UFC is just gonna be like tough and violent. Um if you fight heavyweight when you get hit at heavyweight, you could go out immediately. And if you're not a violent kind of person in there and aggressive, you know, you're gonna get destroyed. But he clearly showed that he is very much a violent guy. He was kneeing the dude in the face, but not just normal knees. He was like pulling the guy down onto the knee.
SPEAKER_01Owned him. Well, outside of Hockett, though, there's not anybody that I can see unless they catch him that can fight at heavyweight. I think hey, and that's what's what uh you know Chale Sunner on his little podcast all the time. And he continues to kind of get excited for Gable and Hockett because they're the only two that are that can fit like well rounded with force fight as a heavyweight. Other than that, your light heavyweights, your stack division.
SPEAKER_00I want to see Gable get a few more fights in the UFC, maybe two before he would face Hockett. Not because I don't think he would be stronger or better than Hockett, but from what I could tell from just watching their two fights only what two weeks apart or whatever, Hockett's more calculated. Um Hawkett is very he was more settled. Now, again, that's Gable's first fight in the UFC. He has fought a couple of matches in other um brands while they're not under cards or anything like that. But in the fight game, you could have 12 equal um leagues, but they're not, just because one's gonna have more better concentrated talent potentially than the other one. So, you know, in the UFC, it's generally gonna be the best talent, not always, but the fights he's had so far wouldn't be on the same level. Um, but he would look nervous a little bit. He out he outdid that, though. I mean, he definitely displayed an unbelievable amount of force, but Hockett just seemed um more calm to me and more like put together in his fight, just more calculated is the word that I can kind of see. It was Gable was running fast, like he was ready, and that's good. But a guy like Hockett, or even there's other other heavyweights that could get it done too, could catch a guy like Gable. He came in multiple times with his hands down. This other guy did not capitalize on it. I think some of these heavyweights would pop him for doing that. You you can't really do that in the heavyweight division with hybrids like him. So, but uh clearly super strong and powerful. Um I enjoyed watching Patty. Uh he's not always gonna be the guy I cheer for, but that simply mostly just has to do with the fact that he just annoys the crap out of me, but he performs, he's good. He knows well. I love Jeff. I think he's hilarious.
SPEAKER_02I think he's an absolute I think he's a pointman television. He's just so funny.
SPEAKER_00You lie to me. I can't just can't stand it.
SPEAKER_01I think that Patty does what Hockett wishes he could do. Like Hockett has these weird sticks, and then Patty mouths off, but he keeps it at such an escalated level. I just think Patty's such a main character. But I think a lot of people don't understand, Brian. This is a good point. Like they judge some of these guys based on how they act, but like McGregor. So that went sideways, but you've got to understand because McGregor chooses to promote and act the way he does, everybody in the ring gets another million dollars.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. When the tide rises when Connor fights, I mean Dana said it too, you know, when Connor's in town, every room in Vegas is full, everything costs more, you know. So yeah, I mean, Connor changes everything about everything, and I don't think that anyone really hates that that's involved in and banking from it. In fact, most of the guys that got interviewed on it were very happy to be on a Connor McGregor fight. Undercard, yeah. But even if they don't get paid more, they get viewed more, which ends up getting paid more, you know. So, yeah, that that one was ridiculous. I I don't have a lot to say about the fact that like social media is nuts.
SPEAKER_01So here's what I have to say, and Brian, you and I talked about this. So Connor's been away five years. He stepped up, and Brian and I were sharing some text back and forth throughout the week. Well, he stood he stood up with his stick of just tough gangster like bully in the standoffs, but you can tell, you can tell it's acting now. And then he came walking down and had his whole character on until he got halfway down, and he started breathing hard trying to control his adrenaline. Like really hard. And social media wants to act like a random flying kick where he landed at a like 30-degree wrong angle with full momentum, full body weight, and it when they slowed it down, his right kneecap went to the right side of his knee. They want to act like he didn't actually get hurt because he stumbled up in his flip-flops. But I think he stumbled in his flip-flops, still trying to control adrenaline. I really do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's always hard to say in these, you know, there were multiple opinions flying around. I will say they're definitely investigating, they're always gonna do that because he also didn't stick around for his post-fight interview, so that that makes them mad. It's part of the contract. I mean, a big piece of his contract is him talking, and that's just part of the deal. And so um, I think it's hard, it's hard to say what happened there. The amount of money on the line for him for that particular thing does draw a lot of questions, and so you know, was he injured before, or or was there something he was able to hide? We don't know. I mean, it could be. The thing is, is Connor was hardly present at all in Vegas. He was late. He got in like the day of the press conference. Generally, they're there a week ahead doing stuff, being involved. He was not meeting those obligations, and so a lot of things point to potentially hiding um at least some form of an injury to be able to get in there, but we'll we'll never really know. I mean, at the same time, there is footage of him training before and he looked okay. There's also footage in the locker room before they you know they do locker room cams and stuff of him doing that exact same technique to the pads. So it's it's interesting to know what really went down there. It just sucks that it had to happen that way. So he gets injured in three seconds. Yeah, not good. Not good for for anybody on the business side of that ordeal, just because while all the people are getting paid, it just puts a little bit of a you know, a mark on the brand, you know, for people who are all mad because they didn't get what they wanted. It's kind of like you guys, I don't know if that if you'll remember it, but maybe if you watched you know uh YouTube videos of it as you got older, but there was a time back in the day where Tyson kind of got established a little bit, and people started to get a little pissed because they would buy that pay-per-view for whatever that was back then, and he would knock dudes out in the first round.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And they started to get to the point of where it happened a couple of times in a row to where they just wanted to talk about how they were putting him in there with trash cans, you know, and making pay-per-view money off of it, and maybe they were. I mean, boxing is the most fraudulent, corrupt sport on the planet, especially in our country. And so they could have been putting trash cans in there with them, um, at least to the point of the fact that people aren't gonna see it as a competitive match to buy a pay-per-view for. Right. So, but yeah, I I hated to see that go down at the same time. I I hated to see that go down for Connor if that's what really happened. He got railed all week anyway by people because you know he he's been in some trouble. Uh he's definitely the most recent public thing. That's not brand new information, but you know, he had been to court over some issues of some uh abuse situation. Um the part where the part where I think that people have to really look at that and why I don't go fly off the handle about these things too often is there was almost zero back evidence or anything. The evidence was is he was in court and found that he had some issues in some of the areas on it, but no backstory, not a lot of evidence stuff, and so it's really hard, I think, with someone at his level, people are going to be throwing darts all the time. If if he really did it, that is horrible. And I don't know that I argue with the people that think, why is this guy getting to fight and be praised and make all this money when he's coming off of something like that? That's hard to argue with, too. I mean, I guess my response to that would be is I understand people saying that, but I guess do those people also understand there are people in jobs everywhere today being able to go to work and make money and support themselves and their families even after they've done things they shouldn't. I mean, Connor's doing the same thing, he's just more well known for it. So I think when people do that, they kind of just hate when people are getting rich and getting popular if they've done something wrong. I guess there's just people everywhere that have done wrong things at his level that are still at work today. You know, I don't know. I'm not saying I like it, but I'm also just saying what do you do? I mean, I guess what their point is is they should they that someone shouldn't be on a platform influencing other people, um, you know, maybe other men, kids, or young people with what they've done while being so popular, and I guess it makes sense. I mean kind of sucks.
SPEAKER_01It does, but I mean the justice system we've been the we we uh minister in the prison, our like you know, the the hard conversation there is what happened? Like our justice system is so wonky. It's yeah, it's it's tough.
SPEAKER_00And I mean the some of these people probably are watching major other major um national sports every week during their leagues, and it's like, yeah, there's some people they're doing the same thing and have and have been convicted with evidence of things, but you're still a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys or whatever it is. So I this is not an attempt for me to like argue or debate is it okay or right or wrong. I guess my deal is is like I don't know enough about the story to even make a judgment call on it. My judgment call would be Connor has been in some trouble here and there, and so the idea that he messed up is not beyond my belief. I just also hate it when there is such a big character involved, but not a lot of things to read or see about it to know like, dude, there are popular rich people getting hammered all the time with stuff, and it's just easier to settle it than anything else because maybe they were there. Maybe 1% of what was said happened, but not the rest. And it's like, let's just get rid of this versus making it even worse. And if you have the money to do it, sometimes that's the best way, I guess. I don't I wouldn't know, I don't have that kind of money, but I just hate the idea that people do use other people's issues to get ahead themselves, or you know, I saw I read some of the the posts that people had made about this that I thought that's beyond an opinion. This seems like someone who's got trauma and is in a really bad way and they're shooting bullets at something they don't really know. It's just a big headline. And I think that's what social media ends up being a lot anyway.
SPEAKER_01Well, with our media too, they'll put the worst like how many times have you read some articles and they have nothing to do with the subject line that was posted? Like they'll say the most heinous everyone out of this world. Almost every article, everyone forget something engaged in, do not care what you think that you come back, they just need engagement. They need eyeballs, don't care.
SPEAKER_00Well, to those people that did that, I mean, the bad guy in your in your story lost, and so it is what it is.
SPEAKER_01And if he's hurt the way he is, that's gonna be really hard to come back from. I don't think he ever fights again.
SPEAKER_02I'm just gonna be honest, I don't think he ever fights again. I mean, and that's from like just a sheer standpoint of it being competitive.
SPEAKER_01Well he was gonna take some damage in that fight regardless. Max Holloway's gonna be.
SPEAKER_02Oh, for sure. Yeah, it wasn't like he was just like coming out like against nobody, but I just don't think you're gonna get I don't think you're gonna get him back in the ring, and honestly, we just need to transition this man over to doing Rocky 17. Like just make him an Irish Rocky. Revive that story. We need it in America right now.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think Conor McGregor would be an Irish Rocky. He won't be the guy that gets knocked out. There's no way.
SPEAKER_00Well, they were all mad about the money. Like he shouldn't have been valid.
SPEAKER_01He's not gonna have like He's Apollo. You're not gonna put Connor McGregor, and I'm just gonna call it like it is. He's not coming in with divine life wisdom throughout a story in a long-term love story to chase and pursue. All he's gonna do is follow this group. All he's gonna do. Some kind of gangster leading other people that just gets knocked out.
SPEAKER_02Well, just put him in Peaky Bonders. He'd fit perfectly in there with Tommy Shelby.
SPEAKER_00Well, and at the end of the day, too, he um be the next person Rocky finds. He's making 87 years old Creed Creed 4. No, Creed 14. He's making just as much money. Uh whatever his namesake and everything is. It is what it is.
SPEAKER_01I mean Well and that that was what was hard for me. I know maybe he spent some money, but like he has a ton of it. And so I don't I really don't think in the look on his face, and even bailing, like I know he went there early, but like I like if I think that I'm right about what's mentally going on with him, it's a dangerous space. To work that hard, come out if you really wanted to fight and have that happen immediately. Like you're you're you're having to get through some darkness.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you're in a dark, dark head space going there, like because you gotta think his fight camp was more than your standard like three or four months just because just to work back into like actual fighting shape. It's not like he's in bad physical condition.
SPEAKER_01He's just not in well, Max Holloway worked his butt off to learn how to fight at 170. Yeah. Like it was a lot of work for both of them.
SPEAKER_00Well, Max said it right though. Max's been doing this as a long time and he's a respectful guy and a good competitor. You know, Connor has all the money in the world. Um, he had his wife and kids there. He has absolutely no reason to do this and still came back. So I think what Max's point was is he has all the respect for Connor in the world just because not a lot of people are gonna make that walk when you don't have to make it. You know, once you get to a place where you have to do that anymore, so I don't know. I I stopped short of calling Connor negative things or weird things that would apply to his overall, like, you know, boldness or courage or whatever. The dude's clearly not scared of anything. Um, I think that he's probably made some mistakes um that we don't know all the way about. But I guess for me, I'd look at that and think, man, I guess everybody has too. It's funny how we like to toot the horn on the popular people in the world, but is it just a way to not talk about our own thing? You know, it's like everyone that went so hard on him at their post on it. I was like, hey, I don't know if you should be able to go that hard on someone if you're not willing to, you know, post up, you know, your life story here and let us take some shots at it, too, because it's easy to hide behind your mouth, you know, when you got stuff going on. And I think for me, I just I hate the action if he did it. Um at the same time, I don't know that it makes any sense to go hammer the dude.
SPEAKER_01Some people yeah, some people live a life where other people's problems are their distraction and their delight, and that's pretty sickening.
SPEAKER_00I want to we'll shift gears just a little bit. A couple of small announcements. I had uh I bring that I've been bringing this up lately too. A lot of people are asking questions about weight loss and TRT peptides and whatnot. Not going to spend any time on it today outside of telling you. We'll post a link in um the notes for our company. It's a local company named Telegenics. One of the uh most revolutionary and renowned companies thus far in the space, being that it's gonna be mobile, you're still gonna get all the attention from a real doctor. So it kind of takes all the hard parts out, having to go places and do things, you're gonna get all the same attention with Telegenics. So we'll have a link there as well. We've got an event coming up on September 19th. Um, it's gonna be here in Tulsa as well at the Agore Event Center. Your own your own Kellen here is gonna have some things to share at that event that day. We're gonna be hosting Sean Whalen, um, a friend from up north. Um, if you guys remember the brand Lions Not Sheep and multiple others, Sean is an amazing businessman and someone who's spent the last couple of years in uh kind of the same phase as a lot of other people, going through challenges, trying to rebound a certain way, trying to untrain what's been trained in him for years. He grew up um in the Mormon faith and started to kind of poke holes in it after going through it. Um, ups and downs, and and a lot of good, just good insights on what it is to go through something really hard and try to dig in and come back from it. I think the event that day we're calling a mastermind. We'll have a little bit of something for a little bit of everybody. I mean, it's gonna be a walk through authenticity. The cool thing about these kinds of masterminds is it's not someone or people that are gonna get up and talk at people. It's gonna be more of a conversation about these are the things that happened, this is what I did. I don't know if that was the right thing, but let's talk it, let's talk it through. So I like to look at these in a way to where you go to some masterminds and some seminars and it's just like experts telling you how to do stuff. And I guess that's good. I mean, you can get your notepad out and start to notate things, but the problem I have with those types of things is I've also learned that if you fill a room up with people and you start to share the magical secrets about things that take effort, a small percentage of people actually have the ability to do what you're saying to do based upon their capacity, drive, or willingness to get uncomfortable. So I find that those kinds of seminars are really cool for the speakers that are going to make money because they know what I just said is true. They'll give you the whole playbook. What I like about these kinds of masterminds is you get to hear about someone making mistakes and not really knowing how to solve it outside of this is what I did, this is what I'm trying. Let's let's kind of start to table this out and kick it around, and we'll do that that day, especially Kellen, during the session that you have, kind of one of my plans to around that is talking about a really heavy topics that men go through. It's really hard to make it through a topic like that without some type of two-way discussion. Um, so I'll likely be hosting these conversations to kind of ask questions, you know, for the people per se, you know, the men in the room that are going to be challenged by some of the things you're gonna say. I'll be able to ask a question and we can start to learn together through a really hard moment about like, well, what do I do? Uh two days ago, my wife um I had to tell her about some cheating situations and we want to reconcile. I don't know how to do it.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, there's no seminar for that.
SPEAKER_01Or I walked in the door and bags were packed, she left, and I never got any closure.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01I've dealt with all that. Well, I think, you know, when you talk about um in in some of the stuff you're gonna talk about in a minute, Brian, that you shared with me earlier this week or over the weekend, um, what's the motive, right? And so you get these professionals and they're motivated by money and numbers, and what was it electric, was it culture, did it excite people to keep talking about me? Or am I motivated by people to genuinely leave and be able to improve their life and take action? And if we don't give people any room to talk or collaborate, it was never about them. And I think and I know I've been a part of them in my twenties of a lot of those seminars, but if you overwhelm people with too much information and also you don't address their journey, there may be a part of their journey that's holding them up, but they they have inaction. There's so much that they don't even know where to start, and so yeah, it felt good, but I end up wasting time and I don't take any action to really improve my life. What I like um about all the people involved is every man that's there, that's contributing time and talent, um also knows that they're they're not the lone wolf anymore. They're vulnerable and they have other men around them constantly, and it'll help break some of that lone wolf mentality that really is against our design.
SPEAKER_00Well, and we're gonna use the event um as a feeder to to give resource um to the men. We'll be talking about clearly you'll be um introducing the idea of Banda Brothers to people, which I'm sure it'll come up more than once. We'll be introducing the Lions Den to people, which is Sean's kind of business platform, which I think, you know, getting coaching in multiple areas of your life is actually a really good investment. And I would say Sean's done a pretty good job of climbing a mountain, falling, climbing again. So it's really again, it's a conversation about how to get up again and keep going. I think that Vic will have some really some good words just around having to live a certain way forever and just being kind of like lied to about what you're supposed to be if you're this type of person. I mean, in Vic's world, you're supposed to be tough, emotionless, no feelings, all you know, all sword, um, drawn all the time. And I think it's cool that Vic will be able to share a little bit about you know the softer side of being a you know a tough guy. Um, and too, even I've gotten to know Cody over the last couple of months, and you know, Cody's one of those funny personalities to where you know people look a certain way, or maybe first or second impressions can be kind of weird. But we got to remember, too, people are always working on themselves. They're not a final um piece almost ever. I mean, you're always kind of going away. And the last couple conversations I've had with Cody versus even a couple of years ago are of a guy who's really done a good job of finding a lane to be in that he believes he can actually help with, versus trying to be everything to everyone. You know, we all suffer from that. Cody comes out of the church world to where the demands on the church guy that's a great musician and a pretty talented speaker and looks a certain way, the the uh toll that the church will take on a guy like that is really unbelievable. I mean, even growing up in my own family, being around pastors, kids, and being really engulfed in it myself, seeing like, man, the church, while it's a great place and I want people to be involved in it as good as possible, it's got as much um negative to it as positive at times. And what I've seen Cody do with his career over the last couple of years, and what will be really cool, and I hope that he shares, I'm not going to tell anybody what they need or have to say in this. I believe everyone there has the ability to know the room and know what their heart's um saying in this, and I believe Cody will too. But his ability to go through a really hard divorce situation, reconcile hard business things, find his lane. Not really where the market he's in, the industry's in, says, you've got to be really good at this and look at this. Instead, he's like, I don't know, that's not what my heart's feeling. What I feel like I need to do is help men understand how to be men in this reconciled place in their life, you know, and then what's safe and what's peaceful, what does she need to look like? And she's only gonna look that way if I look this way. That type of stuff I've I've been very interested lately in Cody's content around that. And the cool part is is I think I got interested in it because when I figured out he went through it and then talked about it, that was more cool. A lot of people talking about things they haven't gone through yet, and while their information might be good, it just doesn't feel as like you know, as real, you know, if they haven't.
SPEAKER_01It can be somebody else's platform, and I think you know, when you talk about the the men that you've invited into this, um that's a really, really big deal too, right? Is is the things that um the men in these seasons are taking action on and the people they're helping is from a place that they walk through um and and many of us failed in. Yeah. Or we walked through with another guy, and so it's it's not, hey, this is theory and it works for this percentage of people. You know, and that's the danger too in the church world overcommitment, but also coveting. When we look at somebody else's talent and go, well, that's where they're positioning me, I have to be that, and we're so misaligned with what God gave us that you're gonna suffer. You're gonna be dry and you're gonna suffer. And so um, you know, one of the things I hope too, uh, out of this for each guy or for and this might tee up at the end of Codes is like helping men find their lane and get excited about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, I think that'll be a big cost. We're not done.
SPEAKER_01For every man in it, you're not done.
SPEAKER_00So again, guys, it won't be like we're not trying to have some you know, Bible study that day. You know, if you're afraid of that, I'm not gonna say that we're not gonna directly um be into the word and talk about things because really every man that will um be speaking that day will have a heart position for the spiritual side of it, but they're also cool enough to understand that some of you that in the room may not be there yet. You may not even be interested in that yet. And I think the key is is we just want to help you. Sorry, my eyes are itching so bad today from being in the hot tub all weekend and getting chlorine in them. I've been wiping my eyes for the whole last 24 hours, but I think that the coolest thing is crying, but you know, well, I'm gonna cry, I'll cry later. But I just think it's really cool that these men will understand that this room is not just made to like in in in earthly terms over-spiritualize something. That's not what we want to do at all. We want to bring you into opportunity, we want to bring you into a situation where the men in this room believe that um I always like to say, like, if you guys really believe in God and what he can do, you don't ever have to orchestrate anything. I mean, he'll take over where he needs to. And clearly, I I kind of hope there's some areas to where he's able to push a little bit on anyone in the room, you know, who whoever's their speaker or not, um, to gain some clarity there. There will definitely be opportunities for prayer in the room. Um, so that that'll be something that's real, um, that's gonna happen necessarily. I don't know that it'll be scheduled or it won't be on the the you know the agenda, but it it will find its way into the room. You gotta buy a ticket though. It's limited, it's very limited space. I think we have room for 200 people. Um, you can buy a ticket or you can buy a VIP ticket. Um, the VIP or experience the VIP experience will be um kind of a post-event steak and cigar dinner with everybody. It'll come with um a signbook um from Sean, um some lions not sheep gear, you know, cigars will be provided, um, a couple of uh uh drink tickets, this and that, food, of course. So um that's even more exclusive. I mean, I think that I had to look, I don't know if we have maybe 45 tickets available for that. So you can buy a general admission ticket for 300, or you can buy, what was it, 250? I think 250 for the GA ticket, and then maybe 350 or 400 for the VIP ticket, um, which I reduced the prices. I in other markets we've done higher amounts, but I felt like our own um friends and family and colleagues are here locally. Um, so it went a little cheaper um for that because I'd like for people to be able to take part in it, kind of see what's going on to get access to other events going on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, if things are too high, it limits you to a certain group of people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I just I really hope that people, you know, if you're watching right now, um, you've got to click. We'll we'll put the link in for you guys. Um I might even while I'm sitting here and we we adjust, I might go ahead and put in the comments of this post. But you you could also just go to Eventbrite. Eventbrite's pretty cool about a search engine and you can search an event. It's called Lines Not Sheep Mastermind. I'm sure you could just put Lions Not Sheep in there, pull it up too, you know. So notes. What's up? Yeah, we'll put it in the notes and and I'll make sure that um while we're talking here and transitioning, I'll go ahead and throw it in the the comment section of this particular live that we're doing right now so that if you are watching and you want to be able to jump into this, I wouldn't normally do it this way, but there probably will be um a sellout type of situation happening um from this um event. So when we share it, we'll get it on there. Um I think it'll be important to get your tickets um kind of early for this one. So at least I hope. I mean, who knows, maybe you guys hate it and you're not gonna do it, but I think you will.
SPEAKER_01I like everybody but you, it'll be fine.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, everybody but me will be cool. So I do want to, I wanna I want to change gears a little bit. I had uh had a few other things on my mind a little bit, and I'm sure they'll pop up some, but I I was in in some reading this morning, and I had um actually was reading content from um another guy that had just made some posts around faith and and whatnot, and as I finished it and I came out of the scroll, this I've never seen this lady ever, and I'm not gonna name her. I don't think it's important because honestly, I don't even really want to give this person any more of a platform. I mean, she got quite a bit of activity on this dumb post. It looks like a lot of it's pretty negative too, but and I can't tell, she may be a great person, but this crap right here is why people are suffering in a world to where they think that God is like this evil, horrible being that's just like trying to destroy us. And honestly, if those people are right, I don't know that I'd want anything to do with it, guys. I mean, not to get too polarizing with it, but if that's it, and we're talking about being at odds with our creator all the time, that almost sounds like a throw a hat in the ring and just be done with it kind of deal for me. I actually commented on this and I'll share my comment first, and then we can kind of walk through this because I do want to make one comment about it that I think I made to you guys earlier. Is I said, this is the kind of stuff right here that that keeps people with tattoos out. I I said that as a very general thing, so I didn't write 85 paragraphs, but you guys know what I mean, the tattooed people like me, like us. People that don't look people that don't look the same, people that have a cigarette in their mouth, people that have been told for generations that they can't go to a church if they smoke or have you know drinks or have tattoos or they're they look a certain way. You know, this has been a thing, and I just said, you know, millions of people out there got married and had no relationship with the father at all. So I wish you pastors and people with ministries would realize you look more like the Pharisees than you do him. And and and that my comment was in relation to this post that says remarriage is a legalized adultery. And as you read through this nonsense link that we're not gonna share, only because one again, I don't want to tread more um platform for this particular person. You know, if you you could probably find it by what I just said, so if you were really hardcore, you could. But I don't want to bring attention to something like this just because I feel like it is just so blatantly wrong. I when I think about this situation, like my comment, dude, how many people got married, had never even heard of Jesus or weren't saved? I mean, I told I used to tell my mom all the time, it's really hard to judge people for things they don't even believe in.
SPEAKER_01You know, one of the things that I thought when you were saying that right now, Brian, is all right, so if you run a business, okay, and this is related, I promise, if you run a business, you reach out to people and they're like, You guys are fantastic. You have to say, Hey, would you mind leaving us a Google review or Facebook review? If you come in on a Monday and you had a new receptionist and she said one thing wrong, you'll hear about it from four hours. People love negative. And so in scripture, it's so easy to to see a can uh a comment that appears negative or correction and hyper focus on it. I don't think that's what's happening here. I've seen this happening more and more in it's demonic, it's against the body of Christ. That's what that means, it's against Jesus where people are intentionally using Facebook and social media to grab the most controversial things from scripture, create memes or pictures and put them up and let people argue so they can make money. And it's so easy to do. It's rage bait, but it's it's around the Bible. Now, uh if we break it down, which is why you read your Bible, and it's interesting the people that are mad at this stuff will not talk about somebody that knows their Bible. So but but back up, right? Jesus, and I I mark these in Matthew 5, 31, in Matthew 19, 3, and Mark 10, Luke 16, Jesus talks about divorce and marriage a lot. Do you know who he's talking to? The alleged religious elite that know the scripture and they're trying to create a loophole so they can get divorced for their selfish reasons, and it can be all the things that you can imagine. They were as jacked up as we are now, right? So I want this woman gone so I can have sex with this woman a lot of the time. Right. Right? And yeah, that's that's that's adulterous. Because I'm I'm not getting I'm not in abuse. I don't have somebody as far from the Lord that's that's verbally and mentally abusing me and my kids. There's all kinds of reasons biblically. It is okay to separate. And but when Jesus is speaking to that, you have to have full context. And it's interesting, those that want to stand on scripture to argue about this is the exact same audience Jesus was actually talking to.
SPEAKER_00Well, and I look at her and I think her her bio has answered the call of God on her life to be an intercessor for prodigals all over the world. Many know her for the road to restoration wall where she fasts and prays for the return of prodigals and the restoration of marriages. Cool, that's great. I love all that. Here's what I hate. Where's the prayer for you that are like separating out the people that actually need what you're saying? Because in this one post here, you've annihilated the biggest crowd of people she should be ministering to.
SPEAKER_01True. And if I really want to have an impact on people, I don't take some of the hardest things of scripture and put them on a bumper sticker. Like that's insane to make a meme out of some of the deepest.
SPEAKER_00All of her crap is like this, though. I mean, I don't understand. It's like this It's giving people permission to argue. It's almost like the opposite of what this person should be doing. She should be bringing peace. But also, I think about this. We're not sitting here condoning that we love divorce. We're not saying we want it or we like it and that you should find the easy way out and that there isn't a challenge in every marriage and that you shouldn't fight for it. None of that. We're just saying simply one, a lot of people do things before they even know what's wrong necessarily, meaning they don't have a belief system that they're living by. I can't hold someone to a system they don't even believe in.
SPEAKER_01Well, and and the ultimate call as a Christian, here's what's not walked out is how do I take truth if there is if there is a specific truth in this to people that came to me or to somebody that I know in a loving way so that they have more freedom and they're closer to God in it. That's what Jesus did with everybody. And this woman is in most people, and so she's doing none of that. She's not from my perspective. So check this out. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. He'll distract, he'll divide, and he'll destroy. That's creating a distraction and division. Those are things of the enemy. And like you said, God calls us to live in peace, meaning we have we have the opportunity to live in such a way in the highs, the lows, or the steadiness where the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit's fruits are available, and one of those is peace. It's always available to us. And so you're exactly right. If I'm professing that I'm a prophet, that, and by the way, a bunch of prophets don't say they're a prophet. That's just that's like I'm just if I'm gonna call if I'm gonna call a rat a rat, I'm gonna call it that. At least it's not in your title. I'm not a prophet or a prophetess if you're female. Um but if that's the calling of my life, what has gone wrong for me to to continue to indulge and enjoy distraction and division in everything that I do.
SPEAKER_00When I think about the topic of this anyway, in almost any topic that has to do with uh sinful nature, is this lady probably lives better than me. Lord, I'm not calling her out on her personal lifestyle at all. The lady, I mean, she's praying at walls and junk for you know marriages. I've I don't really do that. So, you know, that part is cool and I think it's powerful. But I also wonder what the father looks at as like, hey, while you're praying for all these people, you're actually the one dividing them and separating them out and judging them, and that's my job, not your job. And I then think about the simplicity of all the people in our world that are just turning down every single lane of judgment they can and critiquing every single lifestyle. And I go back to the original thing. I always like to think about we were dropped here on earth on our own, just as free people without cultures and rules and traditions. We were just blumps on the log. I mean, what's that old cartoon where they're where he's the, you know, the kids, it's the one with Nicolas Cage as the dad, and they're just um and the daughters all crazy and strong. Remember that one? Cage is the dad, but it's a cartoon. There's like two of them, maybe. Oh, incredibles? No, way back. It's it's back in the they were just like fun of him for not being way back to know a way back cartoon. Well, what were uh barbarians? What were you just doing? The crude. The crude. Think of the crude. Well, I mean the timeline of it is like a jillion years ago. We were all dropped here kind of like that. Like, free will. Free will. Nobody's anybody's freaking boss. We created all that through layers and structure of manhood, but I think of Jesus hanging on the cross with the two thieves, right? And I think we should be able to explain God's love this simply only because he did it. Yeah, this is the way he did it. I mean, Jesus represented God um in every word and action on earth that that he was there for, and this was one of them. He hangs on the cross. Yeah. Thieves, right? Yep. In that day, guys, those guys had done something wrong enough to die for it. Not just to die, they'd done something wrong enough to die cruelly.
SPEAKER_01That was the most torture death that the Romans could come up with.
SPEAKER_00We know they were thieves, but we don't know at what level they were thieves. I'm pretty sure they didn't steal bubblegum. These guys were known, I mean, the Bible would would say.
SPEAKER_02They were stealing money, property, and like women, and like they weren't stealing like bubblegum.
SPEAKER_01The point of this is for the world, right? For the world's justice system, the man to Jesus' left and right, the judgment for them was the cruelest death possible, and they'd earned it.
SPEAKER_00We're led to believe that these guys would have been our our harshest people, you know, at least at minimum, these guys did some really bad junk. And ultimately, my thought is this you know, one one thief was pretty like in a way, I don't know that the Bible gets very descriptive of it, but almost like in ridicule of Jesus or almost like mocking him on like, what are we doing here? If you're really him, what are we doing? But the other thief, um, I picture, you know, it's hard to put too many words in it, but the Bible is pretty clear about this particular thief was more humble. He he looked at it like, man, if you're who they say they are, then I'm willing to ask for forgiveness here. If that's what that takes, they say that's what they say that what it takes. Jesus immediately sees, feels um humility and remorse from the thief. And you know, tells him right then and there, you know, he's forgiven. He's gonna see him in heaven.
SPEAKER_02I think the thief who did convey that it was that it was Jesus was like, I think there's a moment of him going, crap, I I really did mess up here. And I really need to humble myself, even though I'm in front of all these people on this road on the side of it, whatever. Like, and it's I mean that takes a a decent amount of character to be like, hey man, I'm getting killed, but like he's still gonna die.
SPEAKER_00No one's taking him off the cross for sending him.
SPEAKER_02But like, yeah, I mean, just a lot of character there, even though he was the thief, even though he was the criminal, even though he did deserve the punishment kind of thing, he had the character to go, and the humility to go, you know, like this guy might might actually be it, and I need to like own that.
SPEAKER_01So I don't think either either thief had the character or the morals. Okay. I think what happened and what we see is that one thief was ridiculing Jesus because it was all still about him. I think the other thief made the conversation about Jesus and there was a heart change. Yeah. And look at Zacchaeus in the tree, right? Right. Also, the ta you know, one of the disciples was a tax collector. And and so uh Mary Magdalene had seven demons, was a prostitute. And Jesus calls these people to him. And when they focus on him, there's a heart change. And what a beautiful representation from Barabbas, who is far enough away to not hear anything, but close enough to hear everybody yell Barabbas. So I don't believe that Barabbas knew that he was being set free. To see Jesus walk and take his place when he deserved to die on a cross, to two more men that deserve to die on a cross, one that dies separated from life, which is God, that is hell, it's separated from what gave you life, from what can fill you up, what wants to bring you close, and the other one that focused on Jesus and focused on everything of Jesus and said, Well, that's who you are. I want to be with you. Jesus draws us close to him, and there's no poorer representation of a Bible-believing Christian to take somebody that would call you to them in the middle of being a tax collector and manipulating everybody, or the Roman when the Roman soldiers are coming in raping their wives and stuff, and Jesus is calling this person to him, then to blast an audience and say, if you've ever done this, you're this forever, that's a that's a lie. Jesus can change everything for everybody in a moment.
SPEAKER_00Well, and I think our culture is just all just gooked up on how things are supposed to look all the time. And I mean, I'm just speaking freely here. I could be wrong at any given time, but I also just I've gotten to this place to know enough people that I people have this weird derangement of what they think needs to happen over maybe their own personal likes or dislikes. I think I'm just to this place to where, you know, he obviously went everywhere and he was perfect and had no sin, so he's not us. He's not gonna walk into a situation of temptation and fall. At least he didn't, you know, he did it in in the Bible. Um I it said he lived what we lived, you know, kind of felt what we felt. So I've got to believe that he was at least introduced, his nervous system, his brain, his heart was introduced to what temptation might feel like.
SPEAKER_01He gave up the part of him, and God within God can do that, that had the all-knowing and the authority of the God of him. Because it said he learned. He grew in learning, and you can't grow in learning when you're God. So some things were stripped away from him in order to walk the way that he walked.
SPEAKER_00The surrender is unbelievable. I think about too, our modern society, and I don't know that what my opinion is on this yet, it's more of a comment at this stage and it's growth in my mind, but I think about where we're at now when I speak of pastors and missionaries or people with mission, you know, I'm not missionaries, I apologize, ministries. One, I'm not hammering or insulting those people. I've I've conveyed many times a lot of respect for anyone who's going to take on such a job that's so difficult and so selfless, and in a lot of ways, maybe one of the most difficult jobs there is out there being that you have to be everything to everyone while no one is anything to you. I mean, ultimately it's hard. At the same time, and at least our culture, we've got this scary place where pastors are doing pretty well, a lot of them. Not all, don't get me wrong. I'm focusing on a specific group now, big, bigger church pastors, to where um, and there's a lot of them these, I mean, used to it wasn't big, but guys, the the market for a pastor that does pretty well in our world is good because there's been a lot of wealth conversations for pastors.
SPEAKER_01They figured it out. Well, but could you argue for some of them, and this is sad, just like the Conor McGregor factor, is if you've got it and people are drawn to it, other people will use you for what you can bring in.
SPEAKER_00Well, and I I don't know that today I want to go off the cliff of hammering what I feel about it, because I do have a specific point I want to make about these pastors. So I know a couple, you get around a couple, they're not interested in going to the cigar room, they're not interested in walking into the fire anywhere, they don't want to do any of that. They they can't be seen there. They'll be seen at their church doing their thing. Well, at the very same time at their church, they're so busy, it's so big, they haven't been in a hospital room maybe ever. They haven't prayed for anyone sick in a hospital room. They're not mentoring anyone one-to-one, they're on a stage doing their job, and that's fine. But I begin to wonder, hey, in the way of like the call that you have and the ministry that you say you have, what are you doing? What are you doing specifically? Because I know a million people that can speak, and I know people that could probably share that message even better. So what are you doing? Like, you're scared to go anywhere because you can't be seen anywhere. You're not really engaging with your huge group of your flock and your church, one because there's too many. So maybe you have systems built, you have processes built. Wow, that sounds a lot like a business, and so ultimately people are getting handled and taken care of by the volunteers. Okay, but what are you doing?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think, well, two different things. One to put a cap on what we were talking about with the whole meme thing, and again, with this way that we appear and the way that we talk to people for the way they appear, Jesus was very clear, and so a Pharisee or Sadducee, they're they're religious elite. Um, they know the elite and know scripture and they have some money, or they really, really can recite the entire um text that they had of the Old Testament word for word, right? And they're doing all the outward things, they're fasting longer than anybody, they're suffering longer than anybody, they're praying longer than any anybody, all for themselves, and they're judging people for their actions, right? And what it's doing is they're a hollow vessel, the outside looks perfect, but the inside is empty. They're modeling how to be empty, and then they're judging the people that are at that they're actually called to serve going through stuff, which gets back to the pastors. They're judging those for an outside image. So God's, and this is where we get lost in all these stupid memes about the divorce and everything. God was never about the action. The action can be sinful, right? He was always about the heart and the soul, what's on the inside, and the actions over time, the habits take you deeper, dark. It can it can really make it difficult to maybe even ever come back, right? And God cares about that. He wants everybody's heart. And so he said, You guys are so concerned with the outside of the glass, but I look at the inside of the glass, and what you're seeing in society now, especially with social media and women and men, all these damn filters and all this stuff, is the world is getting you more hyper-fixated on the thing that will break you over the thing that matters. And when we mess up, we're hyper-focused on it.
SPEAKER_00There's a million versions of the faith, right? There's a lot of different concepts in which people can see stuff. And I don't I'm not gonna sit here and say everyone's wrong about everything they think.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I mean, when you but when you take the the the things of of Jesus, and that's what we're talking about, that are really deep and really important, and you neglect the audience, you neglect the context, and you put it up somewhere, you are absolutely wrong. You're not modeling salt or light at all.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'd say something weird on it then, too, is when I think about having a choice between, let's say, this lady and the thief that obviously completely surrendered himself there, I choose him.
SPEAKER_01Well, and you said you actually, your comment talking about Pharisee was accurate because when we're broadcasting outside the glass, that's what Jesus corrected. And there is a Pharisee that comes up and says, Thank God I'm not like this man, this tax collector who's done all this in the tax collector. It's a story Jesus tells, is on his face and says, you know, he buries his face and calls out his sin. And Jesus talks about the one that's actually connected to the Lord in a good spot versus the one that's boasting and looks perfect.
SPEAKER_00Well, I think about this lady, and what comes to mind is this lady comes across to me and seems in a way to where she thinks she's kind of Jesus, and the thief on the cross kind of comes across as needing Jesus.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And those are different.
SPEAKER_01And we'll never make a Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I I don't understand.
SPEAKER_01We can never be a like we can never be that, and it's so easy to get in that place.
SPEAKER_00Well, and maybe it's me trying to take the easy way out on some stuff too, and making it about, you know, we're all gonna mess up and it should be fine. Maybe I am, but still again, I think about man, that lady just really comes across as being done and complete, and she's great. Wow, and the thief needs them.
SPEAKER_02And well, and to back to your point of like this is what drives people away, of like from you know, finding tr community, finding church, finding Jesus. It's like it's like the people that are just like actively pushing people away because it's like, oh, we gotta make this rage stuff, and you're like, well, we know what we need, right? We're for people coming to Jesus, like even if they're messed up, even if they're broken.
SPEAKER_01You know what we need, right? So the Israelites going through it in the desert, right? In desperate need. And they're selfish and crying out, and they couldn't they couldn't there's bread from heaven and it rotted. They had to come back daily. They had to come into it daily. What what they needed to sustain them every day, right? That God through God's provision. And that's in the the the Lord's prayer. Give us a day or daily bread. But that bread, right? But the word, but the Holy Spirit speaking through the word in the time of the Lord, when we neglect it, no matter how much scripture we know, we can if if we flatten scripture on social media, we weaponize it. Jesus never flattened scripture and he never weaponized anything.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, and it's just like if we're really about like finding the lost, we're really about like healing the hurt, we're really about you know, winning hearts for Jesus. We can't be doing stupid crap like that. Well, and the we just can't be, because like that's like the most like unhelpful thing to like the further cause of the gospel.
SPEAKER_01And I have I have no room to speak into like the church. Yeah, because I don't know what God's assigning the pastors, I do know what scripture says about it. But here's what I'll say to that, Brian. And you said something about music videos, right? If I'm spending a bunch of time speaking and doing music videos, it's very different than if I am bringing God's word after praise. So it's not worship, it's praise, and I'm bringing God's word to the people and excited and showing them the death and the hunger of the word, the word's alive, and praying over them, but then I have a team and I'm equipping my team to bring the word. I'm equipping my team to go into hospitals. Because if I have ten thousand people, I can't be at every hospital. Right. But if I'm discipling those that God's entrusted me with, there will be multiplication and the Holy Spirit will move through them in their gifts and talents. So I'm doing it right. And so that's the difference I think in the churches is where's discipleship and where have I leaned into just talents? And I have gifts and talents. We've talked about this, right? We were never called to embrace, even if we're not coveting, embrace our specific gifts and talents and live on them with no room for the spirit.
SPEAKER_00Well, the church wants to make it about business, so I'll make it about business with them. Some of these pastors, you know, um, they love the systems and processes and trying to promote and trying to, you know, create a kind of an algorithm of sorts for their business that they have, we're in sales here. And if I'm not involved in sales conversations, um, sales education, communication education, um, speaking education, uh, vocabulary education, if I'm not continually sharpening my sword around words, phrases, emotional temperaments, um, the ability to predict from facial expression, then I can't sell. And if I can't sell, how in the world can I have an engaging conversation from time to time with team, staff, or other industry people about that concept? I look at that as no different than a pastor. Hey, if you're not praying for someone in the hospital ever, how in the world can you teach on it? If you're not praying for your volunteers before they go out to do said job, if you're not a part of it, what are you actually doing? If you're not out in outside of the walls of your church sharing um who you are and who he is and connecting with people and trying to ultimately gain relationship with people to introduce him to them, what are you doing? I I guess for me, I think we've made this job as a pastor one to where you can kind of choose the way you want to go. And I I I say all that because I kind of I work it in my mind off of like, you know, a guy that we consider, you know, I think we both consider him this too. You know, I I would say I have more than one pastor in my life, but maybe two or three because you definitely won't smoke cigars if it's who we're talking about. Yeah, I might get one soon. But he'd go. Yeah. He'd go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't have a question if he knew has a knee has rubens.
SPEAKER_02I don't have a question. Oh, he'd be in the room. Yeah, he'd be in the room. He would definitely not lie to the room.
SPEAKER_01He told us he wouldn't light up. He'd be in the room. He'd be in the room. He would be there. But hey, but he won't light up not for uh not for it's bad or tell you it's bad for you. Uh he said, God told me to go to the nate, like he travels the entire world, boosters. He said, God told me to do this another 40 years. So he's meticulous about everything that goes into him to give him the energy to travel. Like the sometimes he like he'll be 13 hours off after a flight from where we live now, and then go evangelize and equip and do all that stuff for seven days.
SPEAKER_00He'll be in the room, though. You know, yeah. What I what I see as one of my pastors in the way that Rubens would be is if we're out, if we go out to hand out food or to to talk to people. I mean, I even hate the words like evangelize, like just go meet people. Gosh dang it. Stop labeling everything a thing because then people feel like they gotta walk up and be like, immediate, like, are you saved? They don't even know what that means. Stop. You've got to meet people, connect, begin to connect again. It goes all the way back if you believe that God is who He says who you say He is, you don't need to control these items. He controls these items, He has power over these items. And I'm not saying you're not there for a reason, I'm saying the reason number one's got to be to connect. If you can't connect, there will be no conversation.
SPEAKER_01It won't matter. Well, and look like Jesus, but Brian, you answered this earlier. Like for anybody listening, if you've ever been hurt by somebody shoving the truth down your throat, they weren't they weren't being Jesus. They were scripting. Jesus was yeah, Jesus was never anything into anything to win an argument. In fact, when it was positioned in the flesh to win the argument, where he would have the right answer, he posed a question and walked off. Because in seeking the answer to the question, the person may find him. You answered it through the the the two people on the cross. We exist as believers to bring people closer to Jesus. And that will resolve everything once that heart change happens.
SPEAKER_00Well, and that ends at that. What broken is supposed to do.
SPEAKER_01I talked to this like I got sidetracked for 40 minutes, was late for a meeting this morning. With a pastor that I love to death in the gym. We had a great conversation. It was like so many people with all this knowledge now. And I hope everybody hears me. And it's it's been real religious, but now it's like all this knowledge at our fingertips. We're shoving truth at everybody. But Jesus met everybody on the road where they were at. And if he had somewhere to go and they still didn't go there, they went back to the other place, he'd show back up on the road and meet them right where they're at again. And Rubens does a great job of that. I have a guy that was going through crisis, and he and I talked like six, eight months ago. And uh and Rubens was asking and asked about a trip. He's like, Do you think you think he he would go with you over here? He just needs to he just needs to be here, he just needs fire. His resolve wasn't, oh, let's go correct their action because we can't. That person has a type. He's like, bring him back into the presence of the Lord and let God work on you. Get him surrounded by real believers and watch God move again.
SPEAKER_00Well, we gotta wind down a little bit, but I I love the conversation because I think when we're talking about stuff, I like to really talk about stuff that the normal person can kind of use in their daily life. I the more and more I watch the world I actually grew up in, um, church-wise, I think, man, where do they get so far off from what the original point was? You know, it it's all the scaling is a lot of it. You don't really need to scale what God's trying to do. I mean, build the building if you have to have one, and then introduce him to them. And you don't really have to do a whole lot after that. I mean, I realize there's a lot of logistics here and there.
SPEAKER_01But a lot of pastors do it right, but I mean with discipleship, I mean, you'll you'll understand how to how to get this. When you get people into a church, a body, uh, the body of Christ that's gathering right there, okay? The body is gathering, and that body has needs. If I don't have the resources equipped to meet the real needs once they start coming available, it's rough. Like that's where discipleship has to happen so that people are equipped to meet those needs.
SPEAKER_00I think this is why I love Mark Simpson so much, too, is you know, I don't spend as much time with Mark, but I don't really have to um to to get to get this particular opinion. I never feel like when I'm with Mark that I'm ever in any way competing with him for the next best promotion or the next best way to do things, or the like that some that he's somebody. You know, us guys out here in the world that are kind of creating content a little bit or making our job our name promotes our business, it's it's it's a fine line between it and and I probably cross the line a little bit with how um glamorous that needs to be, I guess. You know, I'm not afraid to say that. I mean, I I do lean in hard to the um attention piece of it. I want to gain attention to promote what we do, promote our business that that are in. You also understand how to work the algorithm. Right, and and I'm but I want to be I want to be open with people. They start firing off at me just like they did today in my Hoochie shorts or whatever. Lord God.
SPEAKER_02Hey baby, Hoochie shorts are real. Hoochie shorts are real.
SPEAKER_01Those weren't underwear.
SPEAKER_00We should wear them. These feekin' people like hit me with the comments because those were literally five-inch shorts. Five-inch shorts! Those are five-inch shorts. Hey, and I'm not tall, so I can go five inch. I don't know what he was wearing. So like I was well, the point of this is I guess the first story I'd posted was I do know if we talk about it enough, Brian will buy different shorts.
SPEAKER_01Like, have you noticed that all of more pairs of them beats all of his pants are longer than mine now?
SPEAKER_02No, this is the this is the real. You put Brian on a pair of shorts, and Brian is a hyperfixation guy, and he's like, he's like, let's get 10 pairs, let's get 20 pairs, let's get 30 pairs, the best shorts ever.
SPEAKER_01But when you talk about getting a message to the masses, and I explained this actually, somebody asked me about you like six or eight months ago and said, hey, and pulled something up, and uh, I I asked a question. I said, Who is he targeting? And they couldn't answer me. And I said, Well, it's it's interesting because that's what we do too, right? You have no idea what the intent is or what the scope of the and the mass of the audience is, but we'll just judge it.
SPEAKER_00And what I'll say is you and I'm gonna there's the hookie daddy shorts, three minutes short.
SPEAKER_01I'm mad. I think the problem is that you're wearing a sweater with shorts. Well, the point is the sweater, but yeah, but the shorts are gonna throw the whole thing off because it looks like you're in like plaid boxers with a dump.
SPEAKER_02It's really the pattern, it really comes out of the pattern. Houndstoot with my favorite pattern number. I like the houndstooth, but I when you wear it with that, it's like boxer, bro.
SPEAKER_01I think the sweater has shoulder pads in it.
SPEAKER_00Kind of. Yeah, the shoulder well, those are those are just muscular shoulders, sorry boys. But the story I posted was if you're looking for a godly spouse, their Instagram won't be a thirst trap. I walked right into this one. Multiple people, not gonna say male or female because I don't want to hear about it from people, but with the whole like, well, these this uh this particular post could be considered a thirst trap for some people, and I'm like, okay, fine, I walked into it. I mean you have sweater short shorts. It's just the pattern duty. Calculations, though, boys. Like I said, I disclosed. Hey, hey, I'm playing the game a little bit on it, but what my original point was is we're in business. Attention's attention to scale. It works on social media. We all need validation, but at least I'm wearing it. I'm wearing a one piece.
SPEAKER_01Because my mine's never gonna be. I'm wearing a dang one piece. Like Brian looks like my son when he comes out of his room. Or I'm like, bro, would you please stop wearing colored shirts with workout shorts?
SPEAKER_00Hey. It was so you gotta get it done. You gotta get it done. You just gotta get it hit. I had to hit a home run for the lady that made this, though. This lady in Colorado had connected with Sean and offered to do 100 only one-offs of the brand, but she wanted to do it with like this Aztec native feel. She, those pieces, she went into like um resale shops, bought fabric, brought things, cut it all up, and started to make it unbelievable.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I think that's what I can think about, Brian, since nobody knows about all the pictures of clothing, is when he talks about an article clothing, he knows all about it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I wanted to give this lady props. She got a lot of a lot of um attention off Sean and I posting up her stuff. I thought it was worthy of some attention. I remembered at about 11. I'm already wearing the short daddies, which I wear them to the gym anyway. People can get over it. Lord, get over it.
SPEAKER_01Are you trying to like are you being Gen Z right now and just creating new worlds?
SPEAKER_00Everyone wants to squat all the time. You know how they have all these different phrases. You know, Kellen's board shorts. You can't getting caught on your dang kneecap all the time for getting a shortcut. No, that's side of my kneecaps.
SPEAKER_02Guys, I wear five-inch shorts every day. The difference is I'm 6'2 and Brian's first order on you. I will say those are five-inch shorts on me. Those are five-inch shorts shorts.
SPEAKER_01I will say those don't look short. I will say those don't look short on Brian, it just looks like long balls.
SPEAKER_00You can pull those down, that is not at your way.
SPEAKER_01Like if your grandma buys you like wool, uncomfortable boxers for Christmas. Oh. That's what it looks like Brian decided to wear with a brand new like winter. By the way, it's 101 degrees. Yeah, it's a big thing degrees right now in Tulsa. And the night before, he's like, I'm gonna wear everyone's dying outside. The point is wool boxers with a sweater with shoulder pads in it.
SPEAKER_00Those were the thinnest shorts of all time, by the way, with undies built in them, Thad me, and you know what's up on those. Oh, yeah. But my original my original point wasn't for you guys to both get horny over my shorts. That's it. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Hey, for me. Here's the deal. If you want to get canceled, just wear the Hoochie Daddy shorts, come join the team, baby. You gotta have some legs in there.
SPEAKER_00You gotta have some legs in there though, baby. Don't wear them with twigs. Keep report shorts on with your twigs. They said that everybody that's gonna comment on that's a dude. Cool. Male or female on the comments will take them. I don't care about that. But my original point was is a guy like Mark Simpson, which I want to say pastor Mark Simpson, but he's Mark. We still deal with Brian Schwartz. Mark would love them shorts. I bet Mark has him. But Mark is a guy that when you get around him, I feel how I think I should be feeling around a pastor. You know, me being on the business side, a promotion side of the world, just being real, I'm always thinking, looking, and feeling around me for what could be next, what could we do next? I'm trying to monetize every single conversation possible, even to a fault sometimes, guys. That's just me admitting it. But when I get around Mark, I feel like there's like a fresh, authentic thing where he's not competing in a world that we would be in business-wise. And sometimes I get around pastors these days, and I feel like I'm at like a you guys ever go to a meeting with other business people? Yeah, and they claim it's but you feel like you're kind but you feel like you're kind of competing, Kellen. Like you're both there, you're both trying to come up with a new good idea, you're posting videos, he is too. How can I do it better? I mean, I'm gonna go as far as to say, I think like your beard. Your beard is you, you're known as that. I'll never and you've never said this, but I would never believe that it just that grew one day and it was like, oh, this is okay. No, it's a staple. It's it's a part of your brand. You are in business, you're in small business in town, and you're also a character in that story, and in a the most innocent way, I think, which is cool, it's unique. Not a lot of people can pull it off, and it's a mark. Well, when you go into a room, you're already at some kind of in competition with other people in industry, maybe. You gotta get them legs first.
SPEAKER_02But Ellen, we are gonna get you some five-inch shorts, and you are gonna wear them often.
SPEAKER_01I actually have legs. I just wear pants and real shorts.
SPEAKER_02We know you have legs. Your body is carved out of freaking marble, but we're trying to make the underwear animals. We're gonna get you the ones that you just pull them on and then you go. And you're done. And you literally just walk out. Brian's the best.
SPEAKER_01Brian has literally said three things in the last 90 seconds that one man doesn't say to another. I don't care, Kill. It's all recorded. We're getting you, we're getting you these. We have to land the pup. We're going to do that. We do, we're gonna land it.
SPEAKER_00I wanted to find out. I always feel like with Mark, it's very authentic experience. And a lot of times I feel I get around pastors these days, and it's not everyone, but the ones that are trying to like show business the thing up, and I feel like, man, this feels like a meeting when I go to where I'm immediately triggered by other people trying to compete with me on a way to do something. I don't know if you guys have ever felt that. Maybe the words are wrong right now that I'm hitting it with, but I know what it feels like, and my point is a brag on Pastor Mark, and that I feel like because of this, Mark will have his way in conversations, in interactions, and in connections because he's approachable. These other guys, I start to concern myself with me wondering and try not to be judgmental, but I wonder if they know how many people they're cutting out of the system by people feeling like they're about to engage with someone that's like intimidating to them. Like, you don't walk up to if I saw Brad Pitt, I'm not gonna walk up to him and make my way to him and wrestle people. The dude's busy. I would have picked a different person again. This is like but think of someone really popular. They come through, you immediately feel the popularity.
SPEAKER_01He could have said Michael Jordan. There's so many other people. He could have said Rocky, Stallone.
SPEAKER_00But the same thing. Stonewall Stallone walks around.
SPEAKER_01Hey, you're gonna have to you're gonna have to like bad pick because they're screwing the Odyssey.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna feel the popularity of it though, and you're not gonna make it weird. How many people aren't approaching pastors who have become too big for what the too worldly big for what the job was?
SPEAKER_01It's hard. It's be it it can even unintentionally make you kind of a celebrity. Yeah. Where people are just always coming at you too, which can be hard. Like I always want to talk to you everywhere you go.
SPEAKER_00For the ones that are handling that properly, that's not who I'm talking about. But we will land it today. I'm sure we can pick this up at other times. It's a very interesting conversation. We start to dive into what our actual job is, what and if we can simplify that, guys, to everywhere you're at and everything you're doing, it's not to be perfect, it's to be open. It's to be authentic, it's to be someone people can relate to, but then not only relate to, I think what's important is once relation has taken place, then having answers for them. The answers meaning the source you go to, not the answer to their problem. The answer to their problem is the source. You you can lead them to the father through your conversations in a way to where, like I say a lot of times, like I don't really know how to answer your question except for this is the thing I meditate on. When I've messed up or when I've done it wrong, ways to meditate on it, the verses or the prayers or the worship song. And in every room, if you're in connecting in that way, leading people to what you call the source, I think there's a lot more growth that's going to happen, or at least potential progress for those people, than to essentially not even be there at all. Or to number two, let them know how bad they are for the mistakes they made, you know. So a lot of props to the thief on the cross today. Um, I actually made a list a long time ago. You guys ever do the people you want to meet when you get to heaven? People you want to talk to? Yeah. It's kind of cool. I always thought, man, it'd be cool to meet that particular thief and just be like, man, what did it feel like, number one, to when you realize you're hanging next to the you know, eternal one the almighty God.
SPEAKER_02Literal God.
SPEAKER_00And number two, what was going on in your mind when you were like, because you got to become scared there. If you recognize him as the Almighty, then you're not necessarily already ready to just bow your knees to him. You're I've got to believe that at at least a moment of that's gonna be fear. Lord, that's that's God. That's kind of scary at first. Maybe you're you're but maybe not.
SPEAKER_01Maybe his presence is so you're also hanging on a cross using stakes or ropes driven through your holding your arms up, pulling yourself up for breath while you're having this conversation.
SPEAKER_00It's it's crazy. I mean, to hear about what that had to feel like would be on my list.
SPEAKER_01Let's get the link. There's a link for this, and it would be really healthy with what we talked about. Um and a pastor does about a three-minute bit for his congregation with a thief on the cross, and he gets to heaven and they're interviewing him, and he can't answer anything. Like, have you done this right? Do you know, you know, the Ten Commandments? Do you know this? Where you say, like, you know, what's the gospel? All the different stuff. And he's like, Well, how'd you get here? And he said, The man on the cross said I could come. At the end of it, it's the man on the cross said I could come.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's interesting.
SPEAKER_01It's a gift. Yeah, we'll find it. I'll find it. It's good.
SPEAKER_00Well, we'll we'll shut it down today with a prayer. We kind of want people to always know, you know, the purpose of our conversation is to engage with your thoughts. We want to hear from you on it, the comments, the Facebook reviews, we're on the streaming service. You find us on Apple, um, iTunes, obviously. You can find us on Spotify, um, any of the ways that they do streaming, you find us there. Give us reviews, we appreciate it. Download and share the episodes is awesome onto your social media. Ultimately, what we really want people to understand is we're we're not always going to have exactly the perfect answer. We just want to give you something to engage in, ask questions and talk about it. We believe that if you essentially can't just say a prayer, um, we believe that your life can change with that prayer. We're always open to having that prayer with you from a place of complete mistakes. You know, I'll be the first one to tell you mistakes are made. Um, not always perfect, but I'm always willing to, you know, stand with you in the conversation that you're trying to have. Maybe you're looking for freedom or healing or salvation. We're going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_01Maybe in a place that we really understand where you're standing because we stood there.
SPEAKER_00Correct. You know, we'll always, most of the time at least, be able to relate with some part of what you're going through, either through our own issues or people that we're close to, challenges or mistakes. So um never be afraid to engage us there. Um, we did go on Monday today. We're usually on Friday, so just a reminder for those on the live, we usually are on Fridays and we'll always post like I tried to do today and remind you, today was a makeup day, so we appreciate you guys.
SPEAKER_01Vacations didn't want to stick you guys on Zoom.
SPEAKER_00Correct. So um we'll fall out of here with prayer. Remind you guys, Event Bright Link will be in the post on the podcast today. It's also today in the live and in the posting that we'll share today for the Lions Not Sheep um mastermind. Um Sean Whalen will be our um headlining speaker that day. Kellen, a friend of ours, Cody, Jefferson, and Sheriff Vic Regalotta will also um be speaking that day. And for those who buy the VIP experience, you'll be able to attend the steak and cigar dinner after the event. Um so, you want to pray us out, Kellen, and we'll call it a day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I just uh man, just through all this, and and if any part of it hits you, I just want you to know, and I I've heard this lie so many times we talk about prayer that well, God can already see me if he's God. Uh if you're a parent, you know that the the voice of your child is incredible to you. And I just want you to know that your voice is incredible to God and it does not need any perfection. And so uh and Father, we just thank you for that. We thank you that man, your goal uh and your sacrifice was to give us space and our free will to draw close to you because you want to know us. Uh and that Jesus is a gift, he is God. He did sacrifice, he walked the earth stripped of so many things, and it was important um so that just like Brian and I talked about, so that he can relate to us. And we we have, if we study, we have a God that can truly relate to the things that we're going through. He did it, and he did it in many cases in so much difficult circumstances. And so I just pray for anybody out there that and wants to know that you're there or that suffer, that they just lift up a voice and just gently cry out and ask in a pathetic way. Lord, I also pray for for anybody going through uh difficult season that they feel like they're just drowning. I just pray that that your spirit would bring things with peace outside their circumstance into that, and also bring people around them. And I pray too if you've been isolated, that you know the truth, that there are healthy men that you better be careful with different churches and also in different groups that would be open arms and talking about their health and your heart season uh to equip you to do the same thing for them. We're all doing this together, and so I just pray a blessing over you, that the Lord's face would shine upon you, that his presence and his peace would would come upon you, uh that you would see things differently because uh nothing that we have to do, which is like take on the cross because you get closer to Jesus. I pray this in his Amen. And don't forget, get canceled.
SPEAKER_02Wear Chi Daddy shorts, do whatever you want.
