Memorial Day Standup: Why Therapy’s Broken and Boundaries Are the Answer
On this special Memorial Day edition of PrecisionCycle by elevate.epo, Enrique records straight from the Pasadena office with a message that’s part tribute, part takedown. He honors those who gave everything for this country—and then pivots into what we’re getting wrong about mental health, therapy, and the culture of emotional dependency.
This isn’t your therapist’s podcast. It’s a challenge to the status quo.
Enrique breaks down why the therapy industrial complex—rooted in the medical model—is more interested in lifelong clients than actual transformation. He exposes the soft underbelly of modern psychology: the therapists who want to “hold space” without ever changing the game. And he explains why boundaries, not SSRIs or endless talk therapy, are the true path to integration.
You’ll hear how PrecisionCycle redefines mental health with real metrics, weekly identity maps, and live recalibration tools that actually move you forward. Whether you’re battling anxiety, managing borderline personalities, or trying to finally feel whole—this episode delivers hard truth and real solutions.
If you’re in Pasadena or Glendale and ready to step into the next chapter of your life with fire and clarity, now’s the time.

Memorial Day Standup: Why Therapy’s Broken and Boundaries Are the Answer
===
Enrique: [00:00:00] Happy Memorial Day guys. Enrique Orga Elevate EPO here in the Pasadena office today. Wishing you a very happy Memorial Day, to, everyone who's ever, given the ultimate sacrifice for this country. We salute you today and we honor you and we remember you. thank you for joining.
Me on a special Monday, holiday edition of Precision Cycle Elevate epo. I'm Enrique. Let's open it up. As you can see, I'm here at my Pasadena office today. I came in for a stand up, and I'm following up from last week. We talked a lot about boundaries and how in this country we don't necessarily make it a point to really make boundaries.
That's really unfortunate because we fall into situations where we're holding space for people who are actively looking to affect the way we operate.
one of the things that looks like is people will come in immediately start. Being [00:01:00] negative, and immediately start giving off reasons why things can't happen as opposed to really challenging themselves to think about the possibilities of things turning out, positively
This is where the positive reframing comes into play, and the way that we do that is by ensuring that we are maintaining that element of. Reality, top of mind. So we're making sure that we're challenging distortions in real time, but we're challenging in a way that makes sure that we ground people back.
In reality, we don't say people are wrong. We don't say that they're out of pocket or that they're stupid or that they're, what they're talking about. What we do is we try to remind them that we're living in reality and we try to pull them back into that reality frame so that we're not perpetuating the distortion in their head.
The reasons they have to go out and do the things that they do, are not baked into any one particular personality style or trauma response. when [00:02:00] someone says, I need to do X in order to feel better, they're just justifying the ego, dystonic behavior that they're continuing to want to engage in.
It's our job as. Clinicians as partners, as people who have, interest in our friends, to ensure that they are grounded in reality, we introduce the perception of doubt.
And we allow them to come to the conclusion that maybe what they're thinking isn't necessarily reality.
The thing that we need to really come to grips with is the understanding that our mental health. System is broken. The mental health system that we currently have is based on the medical model, which looks to pathologize every single position in order to maximize revenue potential.
that has become therapy in a nutshell. People will see their therapist for years and accept the fact that all they do is sit on a couch and not get any [00:03:00] movement because they fall in love with. The relationship, that's not therapy. That's a relationship
Having it with your family members or friends or people who qualitatively add value to your life. Therapists are not those relationships, and I remember sitting Group supervision and having this conversation with other professionals. The thought that we go to school and spend close to what it would cost a Lamborghini to get a fancy degree so we can sit there and just be a best friend that is not.
Therapy, that is not being a clinician, that is not being a psychologist, that is being someone who's just a friend. someone who wants to put their name out on Craigslist and hold space for 40 minutes, 50 minutes, and not have anybody come to any qualitative change in their life.
Present their therapeutic services to you in a matter where they're telling you that they want to just maintain space and they're not gonna challenge perception. And really their job is to [00:04:00] just be a friend, a li, a ear, to listen to someone that's you can process with a witness. That can bear the brunt of what you're trying to convey.
You should turn around and walk away as fast as you can because that is not going to get you anywhere outside of that same cycle of depression and anxiety that you constantly ruminate. the more that you stay grounded in your trauma position, in your anxiety position, in your depression position, the longer it takes foothold of the normal, innate functions of your brain, the longer that it's in there rooting around doing what it does, the more likely you are to.
End up being clinically depressed, being clinically anxious, being clinically neurotic because these things are not diffused and they're just compounding and multiplying and becoming more and more intense. With each day that we don't take care of it. we [00:05:00] can go to therapy, obviously, and we can have that discussion with therapists and they'll look at you and try not to, pathologize you in one way, but pathologize you in another way.
So they're not gonna say that you have a personality disorder, but they're gonna say that you have anxiety and mood issues and that you need to go on potential drugs see a. Psychiatrist and get on SSRIs and MAO inhibitors, the cocktail that you would need to help you cope.
Again, if a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, if a psychologist is starring to talk to you about taking medication, you should turn around and run away because what they're trying to do is keep you locked in this. Dependency cycle, giving you Lexapro that is just the replacement for the weed that you gave up, or for the alcohol that you're no longer using or for the eating disorder that you are trying to navigate.
Lexapro is not gonna change your depression. Lexapro. Is not gonna change your anxiety. Lexapro is [00:06:00] not gonna change the fact that you suffered that trauma way back when. The only thing that's gonna change that is actually processing that trauma, not with a therapist who's gonna sit there and ask you how it feels in your body, but with someone that can give you quantitative data.
Seven dimensions of personality structures that speak. Tell a story inside of your brain, that's who you need. someone like Elevate epo, who can give you precision cycle, which ultimately is you come in and you have a conversation with us. we run that through the software package that we've created, and we deliver to you seven key metrics that we track.
Weekly those metrics tell you how your personality is changing for the positive in real time. Along with that, we also provide you with identity maps. We take the words that come outta your mouth. [00:07:00] And build an image, a blueprint, a roadmap for your wellbeing. And it's not something that we speak about in abstract.
We build it and show it to you, and we refer to it constantly so that we keep illustrating where we are in the process and how close you are to full integration. Full recalibration. when you're fully recalibrated, you start lifting more weight than you could ever. You start going out on more dates that you ever could.
You start getting more job opportunities and offers and start doing well in interviews. Why? Because you're confident in yourself. That's why, because you're fully integrated, because you're someone who's gone through the process of understanding what is going to affect them, and you're gonna work. Or someone who's gonna tell you which play to run when you see a certain defense.
That's why you don't need a therapist who's gonna just listen to your problems and not really give you the tools to fix 'em. You don't need someone who's gonna throw more [00:08:00] medicine at you and hope to numb you out enough to keep you dissociated you need to go with someone that challenges you, that understands you, that shows you the inner workings in your brain, and that helps you change those things that you don't find appealing, attractive, interesting, useful.
That's what we do and we do a very good job of it. 97% efficacy rate. You come in twice and we give you that information and it is as good as gold. That is better than any clinician can deliver at any level, and at the end of the day, you walk away with all of that data because that's a blueprint for you.
That's your work. That's what you've been able to develop. As we've gone through this journey, I'm not a therapist. I'm not a coach. I'm here to show you the tool, help you practice it, help you master it, so that you can recalibrate in real time
Trying to balance work, family, [00:09:00] finances, personal life, and it's overwhelming and crashing on top of you. You're able to be grounded. In yourself, in your calibration, in your energy, you're able to be mindful of the intervention you need to instill in that moment, and you're gonna be confident in moving forward with that skill.
That's something C-B-T-D-B-T-E-M-D-R, they can't deliver.
Memorial Day, it's a special day for everyone. America, the beautiful, the great boundaries is where we start, and boundaries is what Precision cycle offers We'll get you set up.
