Sometimes life brings seasons we never expected — trauma, loss, rejection, family struggles, or moments where everything seems to fall apart.
After being away from the podcast for a little while, I’m sharing a more personal and heartfelt conversation with my Faith Family. In this episode, we talk about broken seasons in life and the powerful truth that God’s love meets us right in the middle of our pain.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, discouraged, or like life hasn’t gone the way you expected, this episode is a reminder that God is near to the brokenhearted and your story is not over.

Free Faith family, welcome or welcome back to Crafted by Christ. It's your sister in the Lord Lakia, and I am beyond blessed to have you here with me today. This episode is going to be a little deeper than some of the others. Well, honestly, it's just a little more personal. For the past few weeks, I've been grieving the loss of my mom. Even though she passed away a few years ago, I never really had a chance to process her death. Since the day she became ill, and even after her death, there has been problem after problem, drama, struggles, and trials. Now that I'm in a more stable part of my life, I'm finally able to grieve. And I will admit it has not been easy. I really don't know how I should grieve. Losing a mom, you only get one of them. So it has been very hard for me accepting that I'll never see her again until Jesus calls me home. But um yeah, it's been tough. So please keep me in your prayers. Because of this and the many other obstacles I've faced in life, today I want to talk about something that many of us go through but don't always talk about openly. And that's the season of life where we experience deep pain, trauma, loss, rejection, or situations that completely change our lives. Those moments when everything feels like it's fallen apart, but also the moments where we discover something powerful. God's love doesn't disappear in those seasons. Sometimes that's where we experience it the most. Those feelings are real. But something I've learned through painful seasons of life is this God doesn't abandon us when life breaks us. One verse that speaks to this so beautifully is Psalm 34 and 18. The Lord is near unto them that are of a broken heart, and save such as be as a contrite spirit. That verse says something powerful. God is near to the brokenhearted, not the people who have everything together, not the people who look strong on the outside, but the ones whose hearts are hurting, the ones who are crying when no one else is around, the ones trying to hold themselves together. God draws close to them. One thing I've realized is that trauma and pain have a way of making you feel very alone. Even when you're surrounded by people, you still feel alone. Because sometimes the people around you don't fully understand what you're carrying inside. When I lost my boyfriend before I came to Christ, and I lost both of my parents a few years ago, many people would tell me, I'm so sorry, but I just don't know what to say. And I thank them for their honesty, but I did want someone who could relate to me, who could understand what I was feeling. And when I was homeless and had to travel to different food pantries just to feed me and my son for a few days, sometimes the food was stale, but we were grateful. When we went through the different trials and tribulations, sometimes I didn't even have money in my bank. Sometimes we had to reach out to someone just to get a roll of toilet paper. It was so hard. But the people around me, they just could not relate. And when my family stopped talking to me, when I've been rejected from the church, when I had no job, when I had no money, when I was depressed and suicidal, I felt like no one was there and no one truly understood me. But what I have come to learn today is that God was there and he's right there with you as well. He feels your pain. He sees the prayers you whispered when you didn't have the strength for anything else. He sees the moments you kept going when you felt like giving up. And his love doesn't disappear in those moments. No, in fact, that's often where we discover just how deep his love really is. Because God doesn't only love us when life is going well. He loves us when we're grieving, when we're healing, when we're broken, when we feel lost, when we want to give up, when we are challenged, when we are just struggling day to day, when we are trying to rebuild our lives after everything changed, God is there. When you look around at your situation and feel like people are being blessed, when you feel like you've been forgotten, when you feel all alone, God is there. You are never ever truly alone. You may be physically alone, but spiritually, God is with you. His word says that he will never leave or forsake you. He loves you, he cares about you. And even in your brokenness, this is the time you cry out to God. This is the time you draw closer to him because Psalm 34 just told us that he's close to the brokenhearted. A lot of times when we're going through things, we don't want to pray. We don't even want to reach out to God. But this is the time you need to rely on him the most. He is your strength. He is your peace. He will shower you in his love. He will lift you out of depression, out of your brokenness, out of that loneliness that you've been feeling. God can change all of that around. The same God who woke you up today, the same God who has delivered you from situation after situation and issue after issue, the same God who protected you, who watches over you, who loves you in spite of the things you've done, the things you said. That same God is waiting to hear from you today. You are not alone in your situation when you have a God on your side who is almighty, has all power, can do all things. There is no reason today why you should feel like giving up when you have a father who can carry you through it all. If you're listening today and you're in a painful season, I want you to know something. Your pain does not mean God has left you. Your broken heart does not mean your story is over. No, no, no. Sometimes the very seasons that feel like the end are actually the seasons where God begins rebuilding something new in us. Healing takes time, restoration takes time, but God is incredibly faithful through the process. Even when we can't yet see what He's doing, He's doing it. Let us pray. Father God, I pray for every person listening right now who is carrying pain in their heart. You see the trauma they've experienced, the losses they faced, and the wounds they're still trying to heal from. Lord, remind them today that they are not alone. Draw close to them as your word promises. Bring comfort to their hearts, peace to their minds, and healing to the places that still hurt. Let them feel your love surrounding them even in the middle of their hardest seasons. Lord, we need you. We we need you to lift us out of the darkest places. We need you to touch our hearts and touch our minds. God, strengthen our faith. Help us, God, to rely on you and depend on you, remembering with you all things are possible. This is not the end for this listener. Their story is still being written, God. You have great plans for them. We speak over their lives right now in the name of Jesus. Lift them out of the darkest depressions, out of the loneliness, out of the pain, out of the trauma, God. May they be overcomers in the name of Jesus. Touch their hearts and their minds right now, God. Lift their spirits, fill them with your joy, unspeakable joy, God, and shower them in your love. In Jesus' name, amen. Faith family, thank you for being here with me today. I hope to see you here next week. And if you're walking through a difficult season right now, remember this God is still with you. God still loves you, and your story is not finished. Don't you dare give up now. Until next time, y'all be blessed. Talk to you later.
