Hey, Faith family, welcome back to another episode of Crafted by Christ. It's your sister in the Lord, Lakia, and I'm blessed to have you here with me. Today we're going to talk about something real. Something I've been dealing with myself lately. Negative thoughts. Not just passing thoughts, but the kind that you dwell on, that weigh you down and try to convince you of things that don't line up with God. Thoughts like, I'm failing, things aren't getting better. What if this doesn't work out? And the one I've been struggling with the most, what if I end up back where I was? I'm not even going to sit here and act like I have it all together. As a 10-year born-again Christian, I still struggle. There have been moments recently where my faith felt weak, where I'm praying and reading the word, but I'm still feeling discouraged. Still hearing those thoughts in the back of my mind. And it's not that I don't believe in God. No, that's not it. It's not that I don't trust him. But sometimes those lies are loud. When the enemy is constantly filling my mind with negative thoughts, I have to sit back and remind myself of something. Not every thought that enters your mind is yours. And not every thought is from God. The enemy is so strategic. He doesn't always come loud and obvious. Sometimes he whispers, you're not good enough. God isn't moving. You messed up too bad this time. You're stuck. And if you don't check those thoughts, you'll start believing them. That's why scripture is so important. Knowing the word of God, living by it, studying and applying it to your life is so important. For the negative thoughts you may be experiencing, always go to 2 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 5, which says, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Now let's break that down. Casting down imaginations. That means those thoughts that come out of nowhere, those worst-case scenarios, those negative spirals, you don't have to entertain them. You cast them down in the name of Jesus. Not later, not after you sat in it for hours. You deal with it when it shows up. The next part of that verse says, Every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God. If a thought goes against what God said about you, it has no authority in your mind. God says he has plans for you, but your thought says your life is falling apart. God says he's with you. Thought says you're alone. God says you're redeemed. Thought says you're too far gone. That thought is not truth, bringing into captivity every thought. This is the part we don't always do. We let thoughts run free in our mind. But the Bible says take control of them. You know you have the power to do so, right? Take control of them. Not every thought deserves to stay in your mind. And as soon as the thought enters your mind, there are three things we need to first do. First, we need to catch it. Like, wait, what? What did I think? Second, we need to check it. Does this line up with the word of God? And third, replace it. Speak truth out loud. For example, if you have a thought that's saying, I'm failing, God's truth is that He is still working on you. Maybe you have a thought that things won't get better. The truth is, God says He has a plan for you. And this is where prayer comes in and the word of God comes in and worship comes in. Because sometimes you can't think your way out. You have to fight spiritually. And I want to say this clearly: just because you're a Christian doesn't mean you won't struggle in your mind. We deal with doubt, fear, waiting seasons, disappointment, and spiritual attacks all the time. But struggling doesn't mean you're failing. It means you're in a fight. Rebuke Satan lies in the name of Jesus. We know he's the father of lies. Like Jesus said, the truth is not in him. We have the power of God within us to destroy every lie the enemy tries to plant. The moment he plants those seeds of lies, of doubt, of fear, and worry, we should not water them by believing them. But what we should do is cast them away as soon as they enter our minds. And let me remind you of something. The enemy wouldn't be attacking your mind like this if there wasn't something on your life. You know, God has something for you: a calling, a gift, an assignment, and the enemy will do anything to block you from it. Don't give him that kind of power over your life. When all power belongs to God, your heavenly Father, your protector, your deliverer, your friend, your redeemer, your strength, your hope, your joy, your peace. So when the enemy says you won't make it, God says you are more than a conqueror. You may feel like you can't go on or get through something, but the word of God said you can do all things through Christ, which strengthens you. The enemy says you're not good enough. But God's word says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. This is how you fight the negative thoughts that enter your mind. God's word is your weapon. It will defeat every single lie that Satan has told you. God has not brought you this far for no reason. Come on. So don't you dare give up. And I'm not just talking to you, I'm talking to myself today, too. Because those thoughts that sometimes hinder our prayer life, stop us from reading the word, and make us not even want to worship and praise God, they are all from the enemy. So let us make the devil mad by walking in the armor of God, praising God anyway, worshiping our way through our circumstances and standing firm on God's promises. So if you've been feeling like this lately, if your mind has been heavy, if the thoughts have been overwhelming, I need you to hear me. Don't agree with the lies. Fight back with God's truth. Let us pray. God, right now I lift up every person listening to this. You see the thoughts they've been battling, the weight they've been carrying, and the lies they've been hearing. Lord, help them to recognize what is not from you. Give them the strength to cast down every thought that goes against your truth. Remind them of who they are in you, Lord, that they are not failures, they are not forgotten, and they are not alone. Replace their anxiety with peace, their doubt with faith, and their heaviness with your presence, Lord. And God, teach us how to fight, not in our own strength, but through prayer, through your word, and through worship. We trust you, Lord, even when it's hard. Even when we don't understand, even when our minds try to tell us otherwise. We need you. Lord, help us to rely on your strength. Help us to depend on your word, and help us to remember that you are always fighting the battle with us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, faith family. Thank you for listening, and I pray this episode has blessed you. We're going to keep walking with God even when our minds try to pull us in the opposite direction. But we are not going back, we're not turning left, and we refuse to stand still. We will continue down the right path that leads to Jesus. I love you all, and until next time, y'all be blessed. Talk to you later.
