Host PJ Brescia (they/them) — a 2025 Out100 honoree — sits down at the historic Black Cat in Silver Lake with political analyst, comedian, and activist Ryan Basham for an open, hilarious, and heartfelt conversation about finding self-acceptance through politics, comedy, and grief. From growing up gay in small-town Tennessee to working on the Biden–Harris campaigns, Ryan shares what it really takes to heal, laugh, and keep showing up as yourself...even when life gets messy.
It’s real, it’s funny, and it’s full of heart. Ryan also talks about founding Stonewall Network, his work with the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, and how he’s building queer community through action and laughter. Self-acceptance is a practice, not a destination...and this one’s proof. 🌈
