Feeling alone in your coming out journey? This episode is for you. On this week’s BabyGay™ Podcast, host PJ Brescia (they/them) sits down with Jorge Valencia (he/him), CEO of Point Foundation—the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ+ and ally students.

Jorge shares his powerful coming out story, growing up in a Mormon Latino family in Texas and coming out at 28. From Brigham Young University (BYU) to Washington, D.C. and the Clinton administration, to leading The Trevor Project during a period of major national growth.

We talk about LGBTQ+ identity, queer visibility, and why so many LGBTQ youth still feel alone today...plus how education and mentorship can become the “light at the end of the tunnel.” Through his leadership at Point Foundation, Jorge is helping thousands of LGBTQ students access scholarships, build community, and step into their future as leaders.

Point Foundation’s new campaign launches February 26, 2026, with a goal to raise $625,000 in 125 days to support 1,250 LGBTQ+ students by the end of Pride.
