On this week’s BabyGay™ Podcast, host PJ Brescia (they/them) sits down with Mayor Freddy Puza (he/him), the first openly gay mayor in Culver City’s 108-year history. From musical theater kid to public servant, Freddy’s path to politics was anything but expected.
Freddy shares what it was like growing up without queer representation, navigating identity in a conservative environment, and how community, service, and local organizing led him into public office. We talk about coming out, finding belonging, and why mentorship and visibility are so critical for the LGBTQ+ community.
