Happy black history month! In this episode, we reflect on what it means to grow up Black in the Pacific Northwest, specifically here in Portland.

We talk about the things we genuinely love about this city, how being part of a smaller Black community shaped us, and why building and embracing our culture here feels meaningful. It may not look like other regions with larger Black populations, but it’s home. It’s what we know. And we’re grateful for it.

From community and creativity to resilience and identity, this conversation is about honoring where we come from and recognizing that Black culture thrives in every space — even when it’s not the majority.

Sometimes love for your city isn’t loud. It’s rooted.

We’re not just talking—we’re blooming together. Whether you’re a mother, daughter, or simply on a journey of self-discovery, there’s room for you here.
