Speaker 1:

From the Horn Auto Center Studios, chris Bennett and the Morning Brew On the phone. We have a very special guest, two special guests. It is my daughter, madison, and her future husband this Friday. They're tying the knot Beckett Ricks and I'm out of the studio this week because I'm there for the wedding and they agreed to help me out and help me pre-record some fun stuff for the morning brew. So, miss Madison, how are you feeling? Are you feeling prepped for the wedding? Is everything ready to go?

Speaker 2:

I mean, there's still some little last-minute details and things that we're pulling together, but we're feeling good?

Speaker 1:

Any planning hiccups? Has everything just gone smoothly?

Speaker 2:

Pretty much.

Speaker 1:

And the craziest thing is, you're making your own wedding cake, right? Yes, you're not stressed out about that, no. And you're doing your own flowers too. Yes, holy moly and uh so. And your dress is all picked out, ready to go, and I am officiating the wedding. I'm so honored. You asked me to officiate the wedding. What tips, uh, do you have for me on Friday, do you?

Speaker 2:

have for me on Friday. Do your best to speak through the tears.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So there's no doubt in your mind that I'm going to cry, right? Is there a doubt in your mind? No, no, there's not. I definitely think I'm crying. I just don't want to blubber through the whole thing and them have to call someone from the audience to finish it for me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think that's a good goal.

Speaker 1:

That's a good goal. Well, I'm so excited. We're going to be back with Beckett, your fiancé, and I'm going to grill him. All right, we just talked to my daughter, who's getting married this Friday, and we're gonna talk to the man she's marrying. It is Beckett Beckett. Good morning, best friend.

Speaker 1:

Good morning, father-in-law, how you doing Good, oh my gosh, I'm so excited for your wedding and I thought, in honor of your wedding to my daughter, we'd play a little game to get to know you a little bit better, called Rapid Fire. Questions you ready? Yes, sir, all right, how many throw pillows is too many? There's never enough. Ooh, he knows all the right words to say. That's why my daughter chose you. Which one of you takes longer to get ready? Madison, 100%, yeah, who's the better driver?

Speaker 3:

I would say myself yeah, madison tends to disagree.

Speaker 1:

Really, Madison. You think you're a better driver. I think it depends on the day. Oh, okay. What's more stressful this interview or writing your vows?

Speaker 3:

Ooh, writing my vows. I'm having some problems getting it all in about five minutes.

Speaker 1:

What about you, Madison? You got your vows all ready to go.

Speaker 3:

They're not done. They're a work in progress.

Speaker 1:

Well, that makes me feel a lot better because I'm not completely done with my thing either. So the officiating part, Alright, we're all procrastinating until the last minute. I love it. And last question, Beckett which rom-com best describes your relationship? Which rom-com best describes your relationship? And don't say Silence of the Lambs.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's a rough one. Every rom-com I'm thinking about right now people start off hating each other like 10 Things I Hate About you. And, honestly, that's kind of the opposite of the problem of what me and Madison had. We went on our first date and then when I dropped her off back at home, she looked me down the eyes and said you know what? I just see you as a friend. I think we should just be friends.

Speaker 1:

Is that true, madison? Yes, and then, what changed your mind?

Speaker 2:

I just liked him.

Speaker 1:

And then you just liked him more than a friend, you know. For me it reminds me kind of the wedding singer. They started out as friends and then just fell in love and became so much more.

Speaker 3:

Adam Sandler classic by the way. Yes, that actually is a great answer.

Speaker 1:

There we go.

Speaker 3:

Faster than I did.

Speaker 1:

That was rapid fire questions with my future son-in-law Beckett. It is now time for the newlywed game. I'm going to ask each of you who's more likely to, and you guys answer honestly. Are you guys ready?

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

All right, who's more likely to burn dinner and pretend it's smoked on purpose?

Speaker 3:

Beckett yeah.

Speaker 1:

Beckett, do you cook that much?

Speaker 3:

I like to try and play off my mistakes in the kitchen as if they are intentional.

Speaker 1:

That's smart. It's like oh, it's brulee, it was supposed to be burnt. Yeah, all right. Who's more likely to start a home project and never finish it? You guys are living in an apartment, but I feel like me, I feel like Madison. Really I can't. When you start something, I feel like you usually finish it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker 2:

I do, but I'm more likely to take on a home project.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Alright. And next one who's more likely to cry at a Disney movie and deny it?

Speaker 2:

Probably me.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, probably Madison.

Speaker 1:

You would deny it, madison, why?

Speaker 2:

It's not that I would deny it, but I think that I'm the more likely of the two of us to do that, oh, I see. It's not that. That's something I do often.

Speaker 1:

All right and last question, but that's something I do often. All right and last question who's more likely to survive longer on a desert island with no cell service?

Speaker 3:

Me yeah, oh, you love your hook to your phone.

Speaker 1:

Like me, Beckett.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, what's your most? I spent a little bit too much time on there.

Speaker 1:

What's your most used app on your phone?

Speaker 3:

Oh, I have been so addicted to this card game called Bellagio. Recently it's become a talking point.

Speaker 1:

That was who's More Likely To Newlywed Game Edition with my daughter Beckett and my future son, or with my daughter Beckett and my future son or with my daughter Beckett what an idiot With my daughter Madison and my future son-in-law Beckett. Thanks so much for having fun with us this morning and we'll talk to you guys tomorrow. Talk to you tomorrow.

Speaker 3:

Thanks for having us All right bye.

Speaker 1:

Janine, hi there, good morning. Happy Taco, bout Something Good Tuesday.

Speaker 2:

Good morning Chris.

Speaker 1:

Good morning man. It's only four days away Janine till dun-dun-da-dun, dun-dun-da-dun getting married in Salt Lake City, and I'm officiating the wedding. And you're going to cry. I am going to cry. I've been trying to toughen up so I'm not a blubbering idiot. Through the whole thing Our friend Paul from Beaumont said man, it would stink if you were crying so much. They had to call in a reserve preacher to come in and finish the job for you.

Speaker 2:

But it's so special you're doing that for her.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome you know I can't wait. It's going to be amazing. And today is Talk About Something Good Tuesday, so I was wondering if you wanted to share some good news stories. Oh, let's do it, all right, you want me to go first? Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1:

In my good news today, anaheim chef Bruno Serrato is proving that faith and pasta can move mountains. Isn't that interesting? I believe it. Yeah, me too. After his beloved restaurant burned down, firefighters found one item untouched in the ashes. It was a silver crucifix for Bruno and it was a sign from God to keep going, he said. And today Chef Serato has rebuilt his new Anaheim White House restaurant, serving the city's elite by night and over 5,000 underprivileged children by day. Through his nonprofit Katerina's Club. Every elegant meal funds a pasta dinner for a child in need across Orange and LA counties. And he was inspired by Pope Francis, who once told him bravo continuo casi, which means keep going. Bruno says he's doing more now than ever, from arriving in America with just $200 to being named a CNN hero and Ellis Island medal winner, serato's mission is still clear Feed the hungry with love. And this October, katerina's Club celebrates 20 years of making a difference. One plate at a time, that's amazing, very nice.

Speaker 2:

I love that one.

Speaker 1:

Super good, super good, and made me a little hungry. All right, janine, what good news do you have for us today?

Speaker 2:

Okay, this is a kitty story and I love it. Okay, this cat went missing in Michigan three years ago and it just turned up at a McDonald's. It was hanging out eating around McDonald's and it was actually all along for those three years, just 10 miles from its owner's home. She says she never lost hope and spotted him after her local Humane Society posted photos and I'll tell you what he's cute. And the other funniest part about this is his haircut, because he's a really furry cat. So the Humane Society or somebody obviously thought he needed to be shaved and somebody did not do a good job.

Speaker 2:

He's got this ticked off. Look on his face and his head looks like a balloon and his feet are all blown up and he's got little. That's what I'm laughing about. It sounds so bad. But, bless his heart, she found him. He still doesn't look thrilled because he knows how homely he looks. His name is Buddy. The Lena Waugh County Humane Society rescued him. They were tired of him hanging out around the dumpsters at McDonald's. He's been giving her sandpaper kisses. His hair will grow back, oh good, he looks like a Persian or something Big, long hair, and so he looks really annoyed that they hacked into him.

Speaker 1:

Well, that was good news on this. Talk About Something Good Tuesday. Janine, I hope you have a great rest of your day and we'll talk to you later. You, too, have a good one, chris.

Speaker 2:

Bye-bye. You too Bye-bye.
