Speaker 1:

From the Horn Auto Center.

Speaker 2:

Studios, Chris Bennett and the Morning Brew. Good morning, it's the Morning Brew with Chris. Who's this?

Speaker 1:

Jan.

Speaker 2:

Jan the weatherman. Jan from Heber, I haven't heard from you in forever. I heard from you for the first time in a long time yesterday and you called to tell me that I messed up on my first segment of the show when I intro'd the show. I always tell people if they want to give me a call, they could call me. Did I mess up again today? Uh, yes, you did. No, oh my gosh, I did. Oh, what I gave comfort fit dentures number again correct? All right, no, the correct number to the studio. Jan, I don't know what's going on. I was off for a and it's taken me a little bit to get back into the swing of things.

Speaker 1:

I think you're in a time to stay in prison.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, my stay in prison really messed my brain up.

Speaker 1:

It affected you.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, 928-532-4144 is the number for the show, if you want to be a part of it. Like Jan. Jan, if I went back to prison to do another comedy show, would you want to come with? Sure, oh heck. Yeah, jan's a man of adventure, you're not afraid of prison. You ever been in prison? No, no, you ever perform in a prison.

Speaker 2:

No, Alright well, we'll maybe check that off your bucket list. Well, jan, thanks for letting me know. I messed up. I'm a stupid idiot. Unfortunately, I'm not perfect. This weekend there is an exciting event happening here in the White Mountains. That's right, it is the Monster Truck Night Road Tour happening Friday and Saturday at the Deuce of Clubs, thunder Raceway, and on the phone to talk about it is the event director, tony Matarazzo. Thank you so much for joining us this morning, tony. You ready for Friday and Saturday?

Speaker 1:

Oh, I sure am. I'm very excited to be back in Show Low out at the racetrack this Friday and Saturday.

Speaker 2:

Heck, yeah, there's three shows going on. You got a show at 7.30. On Friday Also, people can do a pit pass party, enjoying the pit party that goes from 6 to 7. And then Saturday you have two shows. You have one at 1.30 and one at 7.30. Is that right?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's right and all three performances are going to be exactly the same. So it's just a matter of what time is going to work for you and your family. All we do is reset things Again. Nothing is scripted in the event except the order of the event, so different things will occur, but basically the shows are exactly the same. That pit party it's kind of like the calm before the storm. A great opportunity. If you have a vip ticket or if you've added on that pit party pass to your general admission, come on out before the show. You get to get right down on that dirt track, right next to those giant monster trucks. All the drivers are out there, all the talent, because it's not just monster trucks, we're bringing freestyle motocross. So your motorcycle riders are going to be out there. It is a great opportunity to get to talk to them, ask them questions, get their autograph, take their picture, whatever you want to do.

Speaker 2:

That happens right before each of those performances yeah, I've been uh uh to your events in the past. Last Last year was your first time here and this is the second year, and last year it was all sold out. But we've added more seats this year to accommodate more people, right?

Speaker 1:

That's right. The promoter of the racetrack has expanded the seating, added about a thousand seats. We've gone to three performances. We're expecting a great crowd. We had a great turnout and because of that we have really brought the heat with the monster truck. The five top-level monster trucks of the industry will be running out there. We've got Lone Wolf, jurassic Attack, rockwell Red Kamikaze and Velociraptor all coming to compete in the monster truck competition. And then, like I said, we we've added freestyle motocross to this event. It'll be breaking up that monster truck action where they are jumping through the air doing crazy tricks.

Speaker 2:

Uh, just non-stop entertainment for you and the family this weekend get your tickets today at monster truck tourcom if you want a event to kick off the summer festivities with the family. This is going to be an event that the kids are going to be talking about the whole summer. You don't want to miss it. I thought we would do some rapid-fire questions with you. Tony. You ready? I hope so. All right, what's louder the trucks or the crowd?

Speaker 1:

Definitely the trucks. It's the loudest that you can feel in your chest with those 15 to 1600 horsepower engines.

Speaker 2:

What's the craziest stunt you've seen at one of your shows?

Speaker 1:

Definitely a monster truck backflip. It is a rare feat. It does a lot of damage to a truck even if it pulls it off. So a monster truck backflip is insane.

Speaker 2:

Have you ever had to jump in and help fix a truck mid-show?

Speaker 1:

You know I absolutely have, and that's another great thing. You know monster trucks are out there to compete against each other. They definitely want to compete against each other at their highest level and all running. So when a truck breaks it is all teams, all hands on deck. If that's what it takes to fix the truck, to get back out there, because they want to beat you at their best.

Speaker 2:

What's your adrenaline level 10 minutes before showtime?

Speaker 1:

Absolutely insane. The entire team calls it beast mode.

Speaker 2:

How many people does it take to run this show smoothly?

Speaker 1:

You know, you'll see about a dozen on site, but it takes about 30 all before to start a show. You know we started four or five months ahead of time working on it, getting all the local businesses to help us out your cars, your equipment, all that stuff. In a town like this it takes everybody to be a part of it. So there's an entire team working behind the scenes to even get it to the point that you'll see there on Friday and Saturday night.

Speaker 2:

And last question what's your go-to pump-up song before a big weekend like this?

Speaker 1:

So for me, I always start off with handclap because we're trying to get the crowd ready for the excitement that they're about to experience. Until they start to see it, they're just kind of waiting. So we usually start off with handclap. It's a three minute song. It also cues the truck that they have three minutes to go to be strapped in and ready to go, because once a monster truck driver is in his truck, unless there's an incident, he never gets out of the truck, so that he's always ready to go and ready to be on, called on to run what if they have to go to the bathroom?

Speaker 2:

they don't. Uh guys, you got to check out the Nitro, the Monster Truck, nitro Tour. Good morning, it's the Morning Brew with Chris. Who's this? This is Brandy Brandy from Snowflake, yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, heck yeah.

Speaker 2:

Brandy, are you calling to try and win four tickets and some pit passes to the Monster Truck Nitro Tour Friday night at Deuce of Club's Thunder Raceway? Yeah, we're excited, heck, yeah. Well, here's how you win. I'm not going to make it so easy. I'm going to give you names of four monster trucks. One of them is fake. If you spot the fake one, the tickets are yours. If you don't, I'm going to take the next caller, fair.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

All right, here we go. Gravedigger El Toro Local, the Bone Crusher and the Muffin Masher.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'm going to say the Muffin Masher.

Speaker 2:

You're saying the Muffin Masher is the fake monster truck name. That's what they called me in high school, though it is. Muffin Masher is the fake Monster Truck name. That's what they called me in high school, though it is Muffin Masher, brandi, heck, yeah, congratulations. You just won four tickets to the Monster Truck Nitro Tour Friday night at 730 at Deuce of Club's Thunder Raceway. You also got four pit passes as well to the event. What station hooked you up?

Speaker 1:

92.5.

Speaker 2:

You know it. Janine, are you over there?

Speaker 3:

Yes, I am.

Speaker 2:

Happy Thursday morning, best friend.

Speaker 3:

Happy Thursday morning to you.

Speaker 2:

You know what that means it's time for Relationship. Yeah, All right, I'll read the story and when we come back we'll get your advice you ready.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

All right, I'll read the story and when we come back we'll get your advice you ready? Yes, all right. Hello, so I've noticed that my girlfriend of seven months we're in a serious, committed relationship is very active on Instagram and has 94 posts with hundreds of followers, including her ex, but when she posts stories of us or pics with me in it, it's only shared with close friends. On her birthday, she posted a lot of pictures and videos publicly, except for the picture of me and her, which was very PG, which she only posted to close friends. When I asked her about it, she said it's not something that I do. She also said it's not something she's done in her previous relationships either. Also said it's not something she's done in her previous relationships either.

Speaker 2:

I've suggested that I didn't feel comfortable about how only pictures with me in it weren't public, and she doesn't seem like she wants to Again. I really don't care if she posts about me, but going out of her way to post stories which is temporary with me to close friends only just doesn't sit right with me, especially when she has her ex on there. Oh my gosh, and I've raised being uncomfortable about that in the past too. How do I go about confronting her, and is it worth it To do it again at this point? Would really appreciate your take on the situation. What do you say? What's your advice?

Speaker 3:

I think he's kind of confronted her already and he kind of has the message that she's kind of leaving herself open for other opportunities Is what it sounds like to me.

Speaker 1:

You know, overall.

Speaker 3:

But the thing is I don't like to beat somebody. They're dating, they're just dating Seven months, or whatever. Don't like to be beating somebody over the head with something I don't know. If I was him, I'd just use the information and know that she's leaving herself open to other opportunities. She's not putting him out there as a serious other right Right.

Speaker 3:

So it sounds to me like he's more into her than she's into him, quite frankly, and he just needs to use this information and maybe back off the relationship a little bit. You know, don't put so much, don't invest so much in this relationship and don't be, you know, stalking her on Instagram or anything else, but use this information because she is leaving herself open to a better relationship is what she's doing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and it's crazy that she still has pictures with her ex on her public board, but none with this new dude.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, none with him.

Speaker 2:

Exactly.

Speaker 3:

Exactly so. That's the thing is that he needs to use this information, maybe distance himself a little bit with her. You know, I don't know. It's one of those iffy things I don't like to. I'm not going to chase down and stalk somebody and tell them you know, I don't like the stuff of you know guy, you're doing this on your Instagram and all that kind of stuff. You know, I would rather move on and break up with the person. That's what I would do. All right, so I just think that's me. You know how I am with my tennis shoes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, get those running shoes.

Speaker 3:

Because if he's, you know, if she's embarrassed of him, she thinks she can do better than say, ok, hey, I love you, we got along great, it's been fun. Maybe you want to look for somebody else, but you're kind of not talking about. You know where you get your ex, but not me on there. But you know, maybe we just part ways for a while you know All right.

Speaker 2:

Another relationship advice brought to you by New Balance Running Shoes. Janine says get those shoes on, but don't grovel.

Speaker 3:

I hate groveling. Yes, that's yucky. Don't grovel, I hate groveling.

Speaker 2:

I think I'm probably a groveler.

Speaker 3:

Are you a groveler? Don't grovel.

Speaker 2:

That's a turn off. Don't grovel, alright. Janine says just move on, buddy, she's not into you, let her chase you.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, Play hard to get there you go.

Speaker 2:

Alright, janine, we love you. Hope you have a great day. Best friend, love you too. Thanks, chris. Bye-bye, good morning. It's the Morning Brew with Chris. Who's this David Rowe? David Rowe, calling to win four tickets to Friday's game against the Washington Nationals. We're going to play a little game called this or that Ballpark Edition. You ready? Yeah, just answer as honestly as possible Hot dog with mustard or nachos with mystery cheese? Hot dog with mustard? All right, you and I are opposite there. I'm the nachos with mystery cheese. How about getting hit with a T-shirt from the T-shirt cannon, or getting hit with a rogue peanut from Upper Deck? I would say rogue peanut from the Upper Deck, dude you and I are on opposite pages.

Speaker 2:

I'll take a t-shirt from a t-shirt cannon any day. Would you rather this or that? One free hot dog every inning or one giant pretzel bigger than your head?

Speaker 1:

I'm one free hot dog every inning. I'm a hot dog guy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, finally, you and I agree on something, David this or that, watching the game from the nosebleeds with three snacks, or front row seats next to a guy who yells at every pitch.

Speaker 1:

Front row seats, next to a guy that yells at every pitch Me too.

Speaker 2:

And last one unlimited churros for life at every game, or one guaranteed home run ball caught per season. That's a tough one. I'll go Churros, me too, holy moly. I do love a good old Churro. That was this or that ballpark edition with David Rowe from Heber. You just won four tickets, best friend, to check out the Diamondbacks. Take on the Washington Nationals on Friday night. What station hooked you up?

Speaker 1:

U-Country 92.5. You know it.
