It’s Talk About Something Good Tuesday on The Morning Brew with Chris Bennett & Best Friends, and the good vibes start early. We kick off the show with Jineane Ford and a big announcement — tickets to the 38th Annual Arizona Renaissance Festival are up for grabs, running January 31st through March 29th. From there, we invite listeners to call in and share something good happening in their lives, rewarding the first four callers with a pair of Ren Fair tickets just for spreading positivity.

The hour fills up fast with feel-good stories and personal wins — from health updates and steady work to pets behaving themselves and the optimism that comes with a new season. We wrap things up with a call from Paul from Beaumont, everyone’s favorite redneck, who recaps a whiskey tasting weekend before jumping into a round of travel trivia in honor of National Shop for Travel Day. Let’s just say… not everyone came out looking smart, and that’s part of the fun.

Joy, generosity, laughter, and a reminder that sometimes the best radio moments come from simply talking about something good.

How To Win And Ticket Details

Teddy Bear Toss Sets Kindness Record

SPEAKER_00

All right, Janine, on this tackle about something good Tuesday. I'll go first. How's that? Yes, go. All right. Uh well, my story comes from Pennsylvania, where professional hockey team broke a franchise record, not for goals, but for kindness. Uh last week, fans of the Hershey Bears packed the Giant Center and turned a simple goal into something unforgettable, Janine. Just uh four minutes into the second period, the Bears scored, and that triggered their annual teddy bear toss. Uh, within seconds, the ice disappeared under a sea of stuffed animals as fans launched the teddy bears from the stands to all help local kids in need. And when it was all over, Janine, a draw jaw dropping, 74,599 stuffed animals had been tossed onto the ice, shattering last year's record and benefiting more than 35 local charities. And players describe celebrating the goal and then immediately getting pelted with teddy bears calling it an incredible sight. And then the tradition began back in 2001 and now has collected nearly half a million toys for children over the years.

SPEAKER_04

Aww.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, pretty cool. This year the Swigert Family Foundation also donated$55,000 to Children's Miracle Network to honor the fans' generosity. And uh there was a 40-minute delay to clear the ice of all the uh teddy bears and toys.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, how sweet.

Viral Good News Roundup

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but the bears went on winning the game in overtime. I love it. That's pretty cool. That's an awesome one. Thank you. I love it. Thank you. All right, Janine, what good news do you have for me on this Talk About Something Good Tuesday?

SPEAKER_04

I have a few a few little round robin here of ones that are kind of going viral. Okay, you can catch this video. This is good. The first Barbie doll with autism just landed. Okay. Yes. So she's part of an inclusion campaign, and she's uh Barbie with autism. I'm not sure about all the things, but look her up. It's kind of cool. Also, an ex-con, his name is Kerwin Pittman, runs a charity that helps inmates ease back into society and get jobs. It's really cool. And and here's the coolest part he's the first former inmate to own a prison.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Can you believe that?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Look look that story up. That's really the first former inmate to own a prison. Look that up. And also, one other story that's going viral a guy near Baltimore is being hailed a hero. He saved his neighbor's kids and her from a fire. She was trapped upstairs with her two young sons, and the only way out was a bedroom window. And so he saw the fire from across the street. He got under them and he said, Te drop your one at a time. She dropped her kids to him and he caught them. You know, and it's so cool. He said, I promised to catch them, and he did. And she then got out, and thankfully they're all okay. So very cool. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Awesome. Great to share some good news on this talk about something good Tuesday, Janine. Thank you.
