Big Wig Trivia, Stand-Up Secrets & a Very Handsome DJ Gets Schooled
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We kick off the morning with a Big Wig Trivia showdown and an instant win as Eli from Taylor scores AZ Renaissance Festival tickets in a fast, funny start that sets the tone for the day.
Then we welcome stand-up comedian Patrick Kean to the show ahead of Patrick Kean and Friends at Mic Drop Chandler (Wednesday, February 4th). Patrick and Chris swap stories from the road, what it’s like performing “in the round,” and the behind-the-scenes systems that make great comedy rooms feel effortless. The conversation turns competitive with a Super Bowl trivia challenge that proves Patrick might just be smarter than a very handsome radio DJ.
Jineane jumps in with nerd news updates before we dive into a real-life relationship advice segment: a woman gives birth in a friend’s car and suddenly finds herself blamed for the mess. We break down empathy, boundaries, and what grace actually looks like when friendships get complicated.
We wrap with a redemption win in Big Wig Trivia, and a listener moment that turns “donate” into “designate” before finally landing on “dedicate” — the kind of live radio chaos that makes mornings memorable.

Bigwig Trivia And Ticket Giveaway
SPEAKER_02From the Horn Auto Center Studios, Chris Bennett and the Morning Brew. Good morning. You are the first caller. Who's this? Eli. Eli, where are you from, Eli? From Taylor. Nice. Uh calling to win four tickets to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. We're gonna do a little trivia. You have to get two right, Eli. Two right. If you get three wrong, you're gone. You only need two right. You pick the trivia. Today is Bigwig Day. We could do trivia around big wigs or earned income tax awareness day. What do you want to do trivia on today? Uh I guess big wigs. Big wigs. All right, here we go. Uh, first question. It is multiple choice. Which bigwig once worked at McDonald's flipping burgers as a teenager? Was it A, Bill Gates, B, Jeff Bezos, or C, Mark Zuckerberg? Uh, Jeff Bezos? Dude, how'd you know that? Was that just a guess? That was just a guess. All right. Well, you're one right answer away from winning these tickets. Here we go. Which Bigwick gave a public speech in Mandarin Chinese to impress his wife? Was it Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, or Jeff Bezos? Uh, Elon Musk? No, no, you got one wrong correct answer on that one. Zuckerberg over there at Facebook. All right. Next question. Which bigwig used to wear the same gray t-shirt or hoodie every day to avoid decision fatigue? Was it Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or Jeff Bezos? Um, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Was it Mark Zuckerberg?
Patrick Keene Joins The Show
SPEAKER_02Was it Mark Zuckerberg? It is Mark Zuckerberg! Holy moly, congratulations, Eli from Taylor. You are today's big wig. You just won four tickets to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. What station hooked you up? Uh, 92.5. You know it. I am so excited to have a best friend on the phone. It's Patrick Keen. I am going to be uh on his show, Patrick Keen and Friends on Wednesday, February 4th at 7 p.m. down at Mic Drop Chandler. Super excited for the show, best friend.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, thanks for having me. Good to talk to you always. Uh, we got a great lineup. It's you, me, Jasmine, and uh Lamar Mitchell JR. So it'll be fun.
SPEAKER_02It's gonna be a blast. You've been up here. You performed uh you did a show up here uh when we had one at Rockies, and uh everyone loved you, so I'm super excited for this show. And uh before we uh get to know you anymore, I thought we'd have some fun with some rapid fire icebreaker questions. You ready?
SPEAKER_03Yes, of course.
SPEAKER_02All right, rapid fire questions for a comedian. Uh, what is the biggest name you've opened for that made you nervous?
Performing In The Round Challenges
SPEAKER_03Uh I think probably David Spade. Uh just because he's been so famous for so long from so many different, you know, avenues of entertainment, whether it's film or television or live, stand-up comedy. And uh, but he's the nice and sweetest guy. He's obviously from Arizona, and it was fun, really fun, and his mom was there, just a blast. It was celebrity theater, which is a fantastic venue in Phoenix. And I was nervous, I was scared.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it and that's the theater in the round. How hard is it to do comedy in the round?
SPEAKER_03It's very disorienting because you're like, you're never still, right? You're like, I don't want to neglect them and and I don't want to, you know, ignore them. So you kinda you stay to the back of the stage so that you have a wider group that can see your face. Weirdly. So you stay at the back and then you kind of walk around the perimeter of the stage. Um if you can, if you think of it. But you know, it's not bad because you're always moving, so if a joke doesn't go well, you can just kind of spin out of it. So that's not bad either.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh and then uh what what are some other comedians that you tour with?
SPEAKER_03Well, Frank Calendo's great. He's uh he's he's he lives here in he lives in Tempe and uh done some local shows with him and then traveled around with him as well. And then uh Steve Byrne a lot, B-Y-R-N E Steve Byrne. I love him. Yeah, he's fantastic. And then Nick Schwartz, the great Nick Schwartz from all the Adam Sandler movies and and all the stand-up over the years, he's fantastic.
SPEAKER_02And Reno 911.
SPEAKER_03Terry from Reno 911, of course, the greatest role ever, and uh grandma's boy, and and so he's great. And uh he's from Minnesota originally, lives out in LA, but uh I probably known with him the longest.
Touring With Comedy Heavyweights
SPEAKER_02Oh, nice. We are talking to my best friend Patrick Keene, stand-up comedian who is having a show. Patrick Keene and Friends. I'm one of the friends that's gonna be at Mic Drop in Chandler. If you know anyone in Chandler February 4th, are you gonna be down there? Go ahead and get your tickets today at Micdropchandler.com. Patrick, one of the coolest things I love about following you on Instagram is just watching your comedy journey because you're touring all the time, you're performing at some of the best venues in America, and one of those is uh Joe Rogan's Mothership uh comedy club in Austin, considered to be, you know, one of the mechas of comedy right now. What was it like performing at that club?
Inside Rogan’s Mothership Club
SPEAKER_03Uh it really is phenomenal. You know, uh it's as if like the gods of comedy came down and designed a club from the comedian's perspective. It's just it works acoustically in the room. You know, they don't serve food and they package your phones, they they lock your phones in little baggies. So the audience, you have their undivided attention. The vibe is great, it's down there on 6th Street. Um, and uh yeah, it's just freewheeling. It's great. There's two rooms there, so you've got kind of the main showroom, and then you have a side room that like it's kind of for up and commerce and whatnot, and people are doing shorter sets, but really funny. And it's just I don't know if the god comedy gods did it or the aliens designed it, but it's a comedian the green room's fantastic, it's supplied with you know alcohol of all kinds. It's not just uh because usually you know you have to order from a server. Right. And and this room you're just kind of on your own. And it's a big green room, and there's clocks that only the comedian sees, so people know how long. Okay, he's on stage three more minutes, I gotta get ready. Okay, I got seven minutes, I can go to the bathroom really quick. You know, and and they got Mitzi's bar right next door in honor of Mitzi Shore, who ran the comedy store. And um, you know, Rogan and and his crew there, uh Adam Eagett and Kerry Mitchell, they just did a great job of designing a perfect uh club in a very ideal setting downtown there in Austin.
SPEAKER_02Just a great is that downtown area as scary as I hear some people uh say it is? Uh well I'm a dude, I'm a man.
SPEAKER_03Uh so like you know what I mean? Uh I I've traveled enough, you know, and I don't there's I guess it is sketchy. I don't know what it was like before, you know, but I'm dude. Guns are legal in Texas, like they are Arizona. So if any trouble goes down, I'm just hitting the deck because I assume somebody who has a gun is take care of business and I just get in the way. So I'm I'm just getting on the ground and I'll let I'll let the gun owners take out the you know evildoers or whatever.
SPEAKER_02It is now time for Are You Smarter Than a Touring Stand-Up Comedian? And for Patrick Keene, it's Are You Smarter Than a Very Handsome Radio DJ? Before we let you go, I thought we would do uh some fun Super Bowl trivia in honor of the Super Bowl coming up. Who are you rooting for? That is a tough call.
SPEAKER_03I think I think I'll be pulling for Seattle this time. Um I was pulling for the Patriots the last time they played Seattle. Um, but this time I think I'll be pulling for the Seahawks because they've only won once and the Seahawks and the Patriots and the Boston overall has won so many titles.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's not fair that they were only bad for like a couple years. Yeah, I can't believe that yeah. All right. So I'll ask some uh multiple choice questions. If you know the answer, say your name. That's your buzzer. Here we go. Which team has won the most Super Bowls? Is it A, the Cowboys, B, Patriots, C, Steelers, or D 49ers?
SPEAKER_03Oh, I'm gonna say I'm gonna say the Patriots.
SPEAKER_02Is it the Patriots? Ding ding ding. He's up one zero. Next question: What food is officially the most eaten Super Bowl snack in America? Is it A, pizza, B, wings, C, chips and dips, or D hot dogs? Chris. I'm gonna say chips and dip. No, it is not chips and dip. Patrick, what's your guess? I gotta go with pizza. It is pizza. Gosh dang it. You see uh Tom Brady is doing Pizza Hut commercials now?
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, isn't he really as if he touches that stuff?
SPEAKER_02Well, I'm glad to see him working, you know? All right. Last question. If I get it right, it's worth a million points, I win. If I get it wrong, I lose. Here we go. Which artist holds the record for the most Super Bowl halftime appearances? Is it Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, or Gloria Estefan?
SPEAKER_03I'll say, I'll say Bruno Mars.
SPEAKER_02Bruno Mars, I'm gonna say Justin Timberlake. We are both wrong. Correct answer? Gloria Estefan.
SPEAKER_03Wow, from Miami Sound Machine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. The rhythm's gonna get you. Awesome. Well, uh, Patrick, you are smarter than a very handsome morning radio DJ. Thanks so much for having fun with us, and uh, I'm super excited for the show February 4th, Wednesday at Mic Drop in Chandler.
SPEAKER_03Can't wait, my friend. Love you, pal.
SPEAKER_02Love you. Get your tickets to Patrick Keen and friends at MicDropchandler.com.
SPEAKER_00Janine, you there? Of course I am. Waiting for you. You just ignored me, Lytton. I know, I'm sorry. How are you been busy?
Safety Vibes On Austin’s 6th Street
SPEAKER_02We've been busy getting a lot of phone calls over here, and then by the time I uh reach out to you, I'm like, oh gosh, it's nine o'clock. So dang it. Well, we've missed you. What uh uh what have we missed? Do you have any uh news roundup for us?
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, we're getting closer and closer to Valentine's Day, the Super Bowl, all those great things are happening. Also, we have the Olympics starting this coming Friday, the winter Olympics from Italy. Yes, that's gonna be beautiful. And also we have the nerd news today. We've been you know talking about a little bit. We got some oatmeal news, you know, how it uh yeah, and then bathroom news. Ooh, toilet news, how your toilet is, you know, and we all knew this, it kind of jumps on your toothbrush and makes it really nasty. They're talking the only way to solve the problem is to have one of those vacuum toilets that suck everything out, you know, just sucks the air, and yeah, you bet you better get up fast from that one. Uh there's news about sharks' teeth, uh all kinds of stuff, social media, and then about men and the size of their junk. Yeah, we don't need to go into that. So they've got all kinds of new stories about that. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, what uh do you have anything fun planned this weekend? Are you hiking Mount Everest?
SPEAKER_00We're getting out of Dodge. We're getting out of town. We're going clear down to Sierra Vista. Uh my brother's gonna stay at the house and take care of things, and we have we have a little road trip planned. We're going to get a trailer and go visit my one brother, too, that lives down there.
SPEAKER_02Road trip! Road trip. Awesome. Well, Janine, I was so sad we didn't get to have our relationship advice expert yesterday. Oh, I know. So I thought we would do a bonus relationship advice today. Sound good?
SPEAKER_00Very cool, very cool. Thank you for thinking of that. Oh, you're welcome, Ezra.
SPEAKER_02It is now time for relationship advice, and we have the OG relationship advice expert here for a bonus relationship advice. I'll read the story, Janine, and then we'll get your advice. Ready?
SPEAKER_00Okay, I'm ready.
Super Bowl Trivia Showdown
SPEAKER_02All right, here we go. Uh, this 27-year-old female. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I can't stop thinking about it, and I need some outside perspective. This happened about two weeks ago when I was almost 38 weeks pregnant. My husband had gone to help his brother for the afternoon, and my friend Alice came over so I wouldn't be alone. We were just watching movies when I realized I was actually in labor. Oh, ooh, ouch. Things escalated fast, and since my husband was still an hour away, Alice drove me to the hospital. We didn't make it.
SPEAKER_00Oh no!
SPEAKER_02Oh no! I ended up giving birth to my daughter in her husband's car. Thankfully, both of us are okay and our baby is perfect. A couple of days later, I thanked Alice and joked about sending me a bill for cleaning the car. She never replied. And and now her husband has messaged me telling me not to contact her and blaming me for messing up his car. I'm grateful what for what she did, but now I don't know if I should keep reaching out or just leave him alone. How do I fix this?
SPEAKER_00You know, I I'm uh questioning if these are even good friends. This is ridiculous. I mean, it's not like she had a lot of choice. You know what I'm saying? I mean, it's just now one thing she could do is just I would send them a gift card to uh for a detail, you know, detail thing on the card, just say, hey, I'm really super sorry. Uh, but um not sure I had a lot of choice in this matter. Right. You know what I mean? I mean, what what kind of friends are those? That's just weird. That is. It's not like she had a choice. That is just I I would I would send them the gift card and say, really sorry about messing up your car. And then, you know what? I think I'd ghost them and I just would get other friends. Oh, just me.
SPEAKER_02Just I would send the gift and say it's from the baby. There you go. Sorry, I ruined your car.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I didn't give my mom a choice. Yeah, sorry.
SPEAKER_02I just couldn't wait to meet you.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I would think somebody that gets sick from partying all night would be, you know, a worse thing. Yes, you know?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. That would I'd be upset if someone threw up in my car because they were drunk. But if you accidentally have a baby, I'm gonna let it slide.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. If you accidentally give birth and you have no choice, I mean, what kind of friends are those?
SPEAKER_02That's right. Well, awesome. Well, Janine, thank you so much for your relationship advice, and I hope you have a great weekend. You too.
SPEAKER_00Have a fun weekend, Chris. Have a good one. Love you. Love you.
SPEAKER_02Okay, bye-bye. Good morning, you are first caller. Who's this? This is Ricky. Ricky! Heck yeah, where are you from, Ricky? Sholo, born and raised. Ricky from Sholo, born and raised. You called earlier this week to try and win, and uh, you went 0 for three on the trivia, right?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I know.
SPEAKER_02I know it's like that, that one. Yeah, but you know what? You get a chance to totally redeem yourself. Today is Big Wig Day. Uh, we could do some trivia about some big wigs, or it's Earned Income Tax Awareness Day. Which uh which one do you want to do trivia on this morning? Oh gosh. I guess big wigs. All right, big wigs. All right, here we go. You just need to get two right and you win the tickets. If you get three wrong, you are gone. Here we go. First question uh big wig trivia. Which big wig made a cameo in Iron Man 2 as himself? Was it A, Mark Zuckerberg, B, Bill Gates, or C, Elon Musk? Ooh. Iron Man 2. A lot of people think of this man as kinda Iron Man Musk. Elon Musk. It is Elon. Oh good, heck yes. All right, sweet. Okay, you got one right, you just need one more, uh, right, and you win these tickets. Which big wig is helping build a giant clock inside a mountain designed to run for 10,000 years? Is it Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, or Mark Zuckerberg? Oh. If you'd like a hint, let me know.
SPEAKER_01Can I get the names again?
SPEAKER_02Yes, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg. One of these men is building a giant clock inside a mountain designed to run for 10 years. I wonder.
SPEAKER_00I don't feel like it's Elon. I don't feel like it's I want to go with that Jeff.
News Roundup And Weekend Plans
SPEAKER_02Jeff Bezos. I was gonna give you a hint. This person's probably ordering things for the clock on Amazon. It is Jeff Bezos! Yes!
SPEAKER_01Oh, I did not know that one.
SPEAKER_02Dude, this is so awesome. You didn't win earlier, but you kept trying, and guess what? You just won four tickets to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. What station hooked you up? 92.5. You know it. Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris. Who's this?
SPEAKER_01Good morning, champion Chris Bennett.
SPEAKER_02Heck yeah, it's Brian from Pinedale. What's going on on this Friday morning?
SPEAKER_01I'd like to get a second or uh donate a song to somebody. Jane from Peaver Overguard, one of his favorites.
SPEAKER_02You wanna don you wanna donate a song to somebody? Okay. What do you think the right word was? Um donate.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_02No, not donate. It should have been um It did start with the D. Designate! Designate. You're getting close. You're one letter off. You're one letter off. I didn't know this was gonna turn into trivia. This is fun. Okay. So it's it's uh not designate.
SPEAKER_01It's not donate.
SPEAKER_02It's not donate. It is des uh got my coffee.
SPEAKER_01Dedicate. Dedicate, there we go. Awesome. To Jan Weatherman in Heber, because it's one of his favorites. Yeah, what song is that? White White Horse.
SPEAKER_02White Horse, you got it, buddy. Anything uh juicy going on this weekend with you?
SPEAKER_01No, I've got it to stay home, take care of the dog. I'm just going to the valley.
SPEAKER_02Oh, nice. Oh, he's all by himself, all alone. Yep. Well, awesome. Well, best friend, here is Chris Stapleton with Whitehorse on Q Country 925.
SPEAKER_01Thank you, Chris.
SPEAKER_02You're welcome, best friend.
