Today’s Relationship Advice Thursday delivers a little bit of everything—big laughs, real talk about love, and a special country music moment.

We kick things off with national touring comedian Eric Schwartz, headliner for Chris Bennett Comedy & Aliberto’s Presents Stand-Up Comedy at the Show Low Elks Lodge on Saturday, March 14 at 6:30 PM.
Early-bird tickets are on sale through February 14—save $5 now at ChrisBennettComedy.com.

Next, Jineane Ford from our sister stations Majik 101.7 and iTalk 106.7 explains the real history behind Friday the 13th, before helping tackle a classic relationship dilemma—how to get out of the friendzone without losing the friendship.

Then the studio fills with harmony as local country duo The Arizona Peaches (Ashley & Lindsey) join us for laughs, stories, and the first-ever country radio play of their song “Arizona Peaches.”
We capture their real-time reaction to hearing their music on the radio for the very first time.

Along the way, listeners jump in for Arizona Renaissance Festival tickets, we play Real Darwin Award or Fake for International Darwin Day, and Paul from Beaumont faces off against the Arizona Peaches in Are You Smarter Than a Redneck?

It’s a lively mix of comedy, country, and honest relationship advice—the kind of episode that makes you laugh, think, and maybe text someone you’ve been afraid to tell the truth.

If you enjoyed the show, share it with a friend, grab your March 14 comedy tickets, and leave a review to help more listeners find the Morning Brew.

Eric Schwartz Joins The Morning Brew

SPEAKER_07

From the Horn Auto Center Studios, Chris Bennett and the Morning Brew. I am so excited to have on the phone our headliner for our upcoming comedy show, March 14th. Eric, thanks so much for uh joining us on the Morning Brew this morning.

Show Low Origin And Card Lore

SPEAKER_06

Let's go, Sho Lo. Yeah. Let's go. I'm ready, dude. You know, I never heard of Sho, but it show is in the name. So let's do one.

SPEAKER_07

Let's do one. You know, it was a town named after the uh the turning of a card. There were two ranchers that decided the land was not big enough for the both of them. So they played a game of cards and then decided to just show low, and whoever showed the lowest card won the town, and the other guy's wife was really mad at him.

SPEAKER_06

Wow. So you guys got nothing up your sleeves. Your cards are on the table.

SPEAKER_07

That's right.

SPEAKER_06

It was awesome.

Eric’s Musical Comedy Roots

SPEAKER_07

I am so excited and stoked to have uh show low get to meet Eric Schwartz. I uh when I lived in LA, I would see you uh doing all the major clubs. Extremely funny comedian. How would you describe your comedy uh for my friends that have never seen Eric Schwartz?

SPEAKER_06

Well, I probably wouldn't describe it, I just do it, right? Right. But but what what people tell, you know, it's like a multi- I don't I do stand-up, but it's also musical, it's multimedia. I started as a DJ when I was like 14 years old. My my parents didn't want me to spend all my m money that I made on my bar mitzvah, but I was like, you know what, mom and dad, I gotta spin records. So I started DJing, I started entertaining people, and it kind of evolved into comedy, and I still kept some of that musicality through my show. It's really fun. I love, you know, I love these small towns like Solo. You know, maybe afterwards a card game's gonna break out and we'll decide whether I could stay or leave.

SPEAKER_07

We'll find out. We'll see you after Solo. We are back with our headliner, Eric Schwartz, who is headlining our big comedy show March 14th at the Sholo Elk S Lodge at 6 30 p.m., brought to you by Alaberto's Mexican food. I can't wait. I'm pumped. Are you excited there, Eric?

SPEAKER_06

I mean, all you had to say was Aliberto's Mexican food. You know that I'm a quarter step Mexican. My stepdad, my stepdad is Mexican, so I grew up with La Cultura. That's the culture. Cultura. When I say cultura, like I say it with my whole body, like cultura. You know, I say that.

SPEAKER_01

Like I'm out there, I'll be singing mariachi, like, so I think they're gonna put some extra hot salsa on my taco just because I sang that.

SPEAKER_06

You don't look a quarter step Mexican. Well, I don't know how you look that way because my mom remarried a Mexican man. So he's not my, you know. I I wouldn't say he's not my real dad because, you know, I think my stepparents are my parents, but you know, I it's not by blood, but it's by culture, and uh, I'm also Jewish, so it was very confusing for me growing up as a quarter step Mexican Jew. Uh, every Hanukkah, we had this rule in my house was that you had to count to 10 in Hebrew before you open your presence, and I would, but I get confused. I'd say, Eh, Sayyim, Shalosh, Arbah, Hamesh, Shesh, 7, 8, 9, 10.

Ticket Info And Event Details

SPEAKER_07

This is some of the awesome comedy that you can experience March 14th at the Show Low Elks Lodge with headliner Eric Schwartz. Uh, man, it is gonna be a good time. Get your tickets and uh maybe wear uh some depends because uh you might pee a little.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

That that's because of the comedy, not the Aliberto.

Friday The 13th Origins

SPEAKER_07

No, exactly, exactly. All right, everybody, get your tickets to see Eric Schwartz March 14th at 6 30 p.m. at the Sholo Elks Lodge. This week it is early bird pricing. Get your tickets at Chris Bennett Comedy.com. Janine, you there?

SPEAKER_00

Hi, I sure am. How are you?

SPEAKER_07

Heck yeah, happy Thursday morning. We're almost to the weekend.

SPEAKER_00

I know, and Valentine's Day is Saturday, and tomorrow is Friday the 13th. Do you know that?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, right before Valentine's Day. It sounds kind of ominous.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and the funny thing is everybody thinks of Friday the 13th and they think about the movie and everything, but I didn't realize uh what you know where it comes from. It's it uh the 13th signifies, of course, bad luck, a superstition merging, the unlucky number 13, and it's linked to the betrayal at the Last Supper, where Judas was the 13th guest and Friday, the day of Jesus' crucifixion. So that's where it comes from.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, interesting.

SPEAKER_00

It also has roots in Norris mythology. Loki is the 13th god in pagan traditions, yes. So it goes all through all these bad and and uh the arrest of the Knights of the Templar on October 13th. There were all read, uh all sorts of things that it's tied to. But basically, the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Interesting.

SPEAKER_07

I always thought it was just based off the movie in Jason Voorhees. I had no idea.

SPEAKER_00

No, that was more recent. Yeah, that was in recent times, exactly, exactly. But yeah. So everybody, uh, take heed. My grandmother used to be kind of funny on Friday the 13th. She said, I just don't want to go anywhere, I'm staying home. Okay. She would do that on Friday the 13th.

SPEAKER_07

So Yeah, are you a little superstitious or uh not so much.

SPEAKER_00

I think it makes me more careful. Right. You know what I mean? It just is like in the back of your mind, and you drive more carefully, and yeah. Yeah.

Relationship Advice: Best Friends To More

SPEAKER_07

So yeah. Awesome. It is now time for relationship advice with our relationship advice expert, Janine Ford. We uh have Valentine's Day right uh round the corner, Janine. Uh so maybe you could help this young man with his uh question. You ready? Okay. All right, here we go. I'm 25 and I've been best friends with a girl for eight years. I've always had a small crush, but I knew she didn't feel the same. So I chose to protect the friendship instead. Recently I started thinking about the future, how one day she'll build a life with someone else, and I want, and I won't be the person she shares everything with. That realization hurt more than I expected and made me see just how much she means it to me. She's made my life better in so many ways, and if it were possible, I'd want us to walk through life together, but I also know she probably doesn't feel the same, and telling her could risk losing the friendship completely. So staying silent feels painful, but being honest feels terrifying. Do I protect what we already have or tell her the truth so I can finally heal and move forward? No matter what her answer is. What's your advice?

SPEAKER_00

Uh this is one of those tough ones because he said something he said, uh but I know knew she didn't feel the same way. He he's getting those m those messages too. And this I I feel bad for him because I feel like this she probably isn't into him because she because she can probably tell too how he feels, right? Right. So the thing is is that he needs to do it very lightly and tell the truth if he's going to with humor and use a sense of humor and just say, hey, I don't want to lose you as my best friend, but you you do know that I have uh more feelings for you. You know, something really light, I think, and joke around about. This happened to me. And because the person joked around about it, I said, I said, um, oh yeah, well no, we want to keep good friends, and I kind of immediately, you know, kind of backed him up, but it was done lightly. I just I just worry for him because I think she probably knows how he feels and she's not into him that way. And uh yeah, I would either just kind of keep going with your best friend and not cross that line, or if she does if he does this, you know, be honest, but do it lightly with a sense of humor so he doesn't make her, you know, dash with her tennis shoes on away from the friendship, right? Right, right.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

How do you feel about it?

SPEAKER_07

Um, well, I feel like uh, you know, he has to say something to her and then just be ready. It doesn't sound like she wants they've been friends for eight years.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I guess uh but And I'll tell you what the thing is, and I hate to sound so superficial, right? But the thing is is she's probably not attracted to him physically. So without physical attraction, she knows that that can't go there. They've got the best of everything else, but she wants physical attraction also, probably. And that's where the problem is always. Yeah, that's what the problem was with me and this really dear friend who yeah, it just wasn't gonna work. Yeah.

Arizona Peaches Enter Studio

SPEAKER_07

Well, what about another approach? He should just go and try and find love, like you know, maybe not spend as much time with her, find someone, and then and then maybe she gets jealous, and then she's like, ooh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He needs to, yeah, he needs to kind of move on because if he's been her best friend for eight years, you know, she's going to be, you know, and they're they're doing a bunch of stuff together. He can tell if she's into him that way or not. Right, you know? So yeah, good idea.

SPEAKER_07

Janine, you're always great with the relationship advice, best friend.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if it's not there, it's usually not there. Yeah, you usually can tell, but yeah. But uh, they can stay best friends. Yeah, there you go. All right, all right.

SPEAKER_07

We love you, best friend. Have a great day.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you, Chris. Have a good one.

SPEAKER_07

Bye-bye. I'm so excited to have some best friends in studio with me uh here on the Morning Brew. It is our best friends with the Arizona Peaches, Ashley and Lindsay. Thank you so much for coming on the show, best friends.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, thanks for having us. Thanks for letting us come in.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I see you guys are uh a powerhouse. Uh you guys are performing all over the state. You've been uh at packed stages all around, and you have a new song dropping this Saturday on all streaming platforms, and the name of the song is Arizona Peaches.

SPEAKER_03

Of course.

Icebreaker: Most Likely To

SPEAKER_07

And we're gonna play it for the first time ever on country radio a little bit later. But I thought uh what we would do to start the game, we would do a little fun icebreaker game with Ashley and Lindsay of the Arizona Peaches and find out who is most likely to. Here we go. Who is most likely to forget lyrics on stage? Oh Ashley or Lindsay?

SPEAKER_04

Me. You think Lindsay? Lindsay.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, Lindsay, okay. Uh who's uh most likely to cry during a sad song? Oh, me.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, Lindsay.

SPEAKER_07

Oh gosh! Me too, Lindsay. I can't help but cry during sad songs. Uh who's most likely to talk to fans the longest after a show?

SPEAKER_03

Lindsay. No! Train.

SPEAKER_07

Well, you guys are great with your fans.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, it's your night. And then she'll be like, no, it's your night. And I'm like, okay, so we're we tag team that. That's right.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, all right. Uh who's most likely to get lost on the way to a gig? Oh, Ashley! There we go. Uh, and uh who's most likely to bring snacks to rehearsal?

SPEAKER_03

Not me. Lindsay. I guess I think me, probably. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

What snacks?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, uh anything.

SPEAKER_04

Pupcakes, cookies, chips, drinks.

SPEAKER_05

Anything.

SPEAKER_03

They don't cook for us. I'm like, just get here, eat before you come.

SPEAKER_04

Like, I will feed you.

How The Duo Formed

SPEAKER_07

We are talking to Ashley and Lindsay with the Arizona Peaches. We had a little fun with you guys. Now I want to find out how did the Arizona Peaches come to be? I know I met you, Ashley. You were doing music, and then all of a sudden, did you meet someone at church that you were singing with? Is that how the Arizona Peaches started?

SPEAKER_03

I sure did. I was at church and a beam of light shone down on this beautiful lady, and it was a sign.

SPEAKER_07

And so, what uh what was the first moment where you saw her, Lindsay? You saw Ashley and you were like, I want to sing with her.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we were sitting way in the back of the building, and I heard in the garden come and this beautiful voice started singing. It was Ashley, and in my mind, I was like, I gotta sing with her, whoever that is.

SPEAKER_07

And so you just went up to her after church and was like, I love your voice, I want to sing, and then and then how do you guys start performing gigs together?

SPEAKER_04

I think I was asked to sing in church, and I was like, Okay, whoever this was, I found out her name, and we sang a song together and by Rob Gardner, which is my husband's cousin. Look him up, he's amazing, and uh it was so fun, and our voices blended so good.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, and then I found out she played the fiddle, and I'm like, okay. Yeah. I can't play the fiddle, that's too hard, but she made me do it. I did, I made her, and she's never looked back. That's right.

Early Wins And TV Moments

SPEAKER_07

Heck yeah, and uh, so you guys have really been playing together as a band just a little over a year, and you've already have done some big things. You were on the road to Country Thunder stage uh last year. Uh, what other uh pinch me moments have you guys had uh just in your uh first little year or two of being the Arizona Peaches?

SPEAKER_04

Tell them your big pinch me moment. You were fangirling so bad. Good morning, Arizona.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, good morning, Arizona. I uh was so excited to do that. Lindsay had already done it, so she's like, hmm.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, it was old hat for Lindsay. But you were a little starstruck on Good Morning Arizona.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

unknown

It was awesome.

Why “Arizona Peaches” Name

SPEAKER_07

I am back with the Arizona Peaches, Ashley and Lindsay. And uh, we're about to play your song for the first time on country radio. Um, but I want to know a little bit, uh, we're gonna play the name of the song is Arizona Peaches. How did you guys come about that name for your group?

SPEAKER_03

Um, well, I've always liked the saying Sweet as a Georgia Peach. And we're not from Georgia, so I'm like, what about sweet as Arizona peaches? We have peaches, schnell farms down in the valley. It's true. I have a couple peaches in my backyard, and so that's I'm like, yeah, Arizona peaches. That's and I just thought it was cute.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, so you're like, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We are sweet as Arizona Peaches.

Songwriting Story And Themes

SPEAKER_07

Peaches, heck yeah, Arizona peaches from right here in the white mountains, homegrown, and uh, I'm so excited to play this song. Tell us a little bit, how did this song come about?

SPEAKER_04

So it started with Ashley's husband actually as a joke, you know, because peaches are butts now. So he made a joke song about it and wrote it, but it was really pretty. He put it into AI and generated it, and we were like, hang on a minute. Hold on, let's mess around with this, let's change it up, and so that's how it came.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we w rewrote it and we rewrote the melodies. Different melody, totally different, yeah. Different lyrics, but we made it about women and just like a classy, just how wonderful women are mothers and working women and just good women.

SPEAKER_07

Heck yeah. Well, do you guys want to introduce the song for the first time on country radio?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_07

All right, let's do it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, this is 92.5, and you're listening to Arizona Peaches, their new single, Arizona Peaches.

First-Listen Reactions And Pre-Saves

SPEAKER_02

Oh, they are so sweet. Any time you see them, your hearts keeps up be running through the desert, raised out in the sun. You'll find a slice of hair in each and every one. With ice and a stream. If you love her soft dance, sweeter wherever she makes life sweeter, wherever she We are back with Ashley and Lindsay with the Arizona Peaches.

SPEAKER_07

We just played your song for the first time on Country Radio Arizona Peaches. You guys went out to the car to listen to it. Uh, tell me what was that feeling like?

Darwin Awards Call-In Game

SPEAKER_04

It was good. I almost cried when it first started. I told you. I would work to get there, but all worse feeling in the world. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

And uh so people heard it for the first time here on the morning brew, but uh the whole world will be able to download, purchase this uh song on Saturday, right?

SPEAKER_05

That's right, yep.

SPEAKER_07

Right, and so people go and pre-save this song. Does that how does the streaming world work? Is it very important to get a lot of pre-saves to kind of push the song out there? Yeah, okay. It is so how do we help you? Because I want to get this song pushed out on the streaming platform, and so what do you need the Q Country Nation to do?

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna put a link up today where you can go, you just click it and it pre-saves it for you. And does it it goes into your email, right? You just type in your email.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and it automatically um you type in your email and then it sends you a notification. Hey, it's out.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. Yeah. Perfect. So you'll post that link, we'll share it on the Q Country page, and everyone go and pre-save Arizona Peaches new song and their first release, Arizona Peaches. Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris. Who's this? John T from Show Low. Heck yeah, John T. McCarthy from Solo, calling to win four tickets to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. It is international Darwin Award or Darwin Day. Have you ever heard of a Darwin there or the Darwin Awards, John? Uh, I think so. Yeah, it's basically where people hurt themselves in idiotic ways and they win the Darwin Award. So I'm gonna name ways that people got hurt. They are okay. Okay, they made it through. Uh, and you gotta tell me, is this a real story or a fake story? Did this person get a Darwin award or fake headline? You ready? Ready. All right. A person microwaved their socks to warm them up and then melted the microwave tray.

SPEAKER_03

Fake.

SPEAKER_07

Is that fake? Nope, that was real. Someone actually did that. Alright, you gotta get two right and you win. You get three wrong and you're gone. A guy tried to open up a coconut with a chainsaw while holding it in his lap. Darwin Award. Darwin Award, yeah, that's real. Okay, he got one right. He just gets to needs to get one more right and he wins the tickets. All right.

SPEAKER_06

SPEAKER_07

Come on, John. A person tried to iron clothes while still wearing them to save time. Darwin Award. Yes, someone did that. What an idiot. Congratulations, John T. McCarthy. You just won four adult tickets to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. What station hooked you up? 92 5, Q. Country. You know it. Woo!

SPEAKER_06

That's Bob Vlog!

SPEAKER_07

SPEAKER_04

Hey, Paul. Hey, Paul.

SPEAKER_07

Anything new and juicy for us today, Paul? Or did you just call to play a game? I see how everybody's doing. Heck yeah. Have a little fun. Do the Arizona Peaches want to find out if they're smarter than a redneck?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, absolutely. You know we're not, so let's do it.

SPEAKER_07

All right, we are going to find out who's smarter than a redneck. First question: we're doing Winter Olympic Trivia. Which event combines skiing and rifle shooting? Is it A, Nordic combo, B, Biathlon, or C, Alpine Relay? Paul. Paul. B as in biathlon. Yes. Your name is your buzzer. He got his buzzer in before you. He's up one zero.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, we say our name? Yeah, it's your buzzer. Yeah, yeah.

Sign-Off And Final CTAs

SPEAKER_07

Oh, okay, Paul. They're new, so you got an advantage. I think uh you got the first one given to you. Okay, question. Which winter Olympic sport uses a broom?

SPEAKER_04

Lindsay.

SPEAKER_07

Lindsay.

SPEAKER_04

Curling.

SPEAKER_07

It is curling. Okay. We are tied at one apiece. This last question is gonna determine who is smarter, the Arizona Peaches or a Redneck. Here we go. What color is the center circle in curling called? Is it A, the donut, B, the house, or C, the Target?

SPEAKER_04

Lindsay.

SPEAKER_07

Lindsay.

SPEAKER_04

B the house?

SPEAKER_07

Is it B the House? Holy moly, the Arizona Peaches are smarter than a redneck. Congratulations.

SPEAKER_03

Hello to the Ike. I did not help at all. I don't know nothing about it.

SPEAKER_07

Ashley was just sitting there like a deer in the headlights.

SPEAKER_05

We love curling. We love curling.

SPEAKER_07

Here's the deal. Okay, Paul. Just got on the radio today. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not a kid.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, that's so nice of you.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you're the best gentleman. Thank you, Paul.

SPEAKER_07

Such a gentleman. Paul, we love you, best friend. I hope you have a good day. Drive safe out there. Alrighty. Y'all have a great time, man. See you, Paul. Bye. See ya. Bye-bye.
