SPEAKER_01I recommend it to anybody. I mean, it's it was a lot of work, you know, a lot of walking. Uh-huh. Uh, you know, stressful at times. Right. You know, seeing that amount of people is a little overwhelming. Uh it's just, you know, what you see on TV with all the people crowded up is an understatement. Uh-huh. Uh, lots of buildings. It's like New York almost?
SPEAKER_02Like you were in Tokyo or?
SPEAKER_01I've never been to New York, but every city we went to was enormous. Holy. Probably like a hundred phoenixes put together.
SPEAKER_02Really? I know a word in Japan. My teacher in third grade uh taught it to me. Let me know. Ohio. Do you know what that means?

SPEAKER_03Josh Johnson.
SPEAKER_02Josh Johnson, where are you from, Josh?
SPEAKER_03Solo.
SPEAKER_02You know it, buddy. All right, you're calling to win. Two tickets, compliments of Alabertos to our huge comedy show at the Solo Elks Lodge with headliner Eric Schwartz this Saturday at 6:30. All you have to do is be our relationship advice expert. Alma and Omar from Alabertos are here to help you. Josh, do you feel qualified to be a relationship advice expert?
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, what makes you uh qualified?
SPEAKER_03Uh, I don't know. Me and my wife's been together 27 years.
SPEAKER_02There you go. Wow. So he knows how to shut up and listen. There you go. All right, here you go. I'll read the story and we come back, Josh. We'll get your advice.
Hygiene Problem Relationship Advice
SPEAKER_02All right. I'm a 28-year-old woman and honestly thinking about ending my relationship over hygiene issues. My boyfriend, now fiancé, and I have been together for five years, and I never thought this would be the thing that might break us up. Recently, I almost recently I realized I almost never see him brush his teeth. So I finally asked him about it, and he admitted it had been over a week since the last time he brushed. I tried to be nice about it and even gave him a new toothbrush, but I still don't think he's used it. Now I'm starting to question everything else. He never buys his own soap or shampoo, and I'm realizing the bar of soap in the shower doesn't seem to get used either. His beard has gotten long and scruffy, and now I'm just feeling grossed out. I still love him, but I don't even want to kiss him right now. So what do I do? Uh, what's your advice? What should she do?
SPEAKER_03Well, I think she definitely needs to sit down and have a long discussion and tell him that she will not be giving him any kisses, any snuggles, any affection until he changes his hygiene, definitely.
SPEAKER_02Did your wife just chime in to help you with relationship advice? See, Josh knows just whatever your wife tells you, that's the way to go. Exactly. So I'm uh I'm assuming your wife would not give you any hugs or kisses. It sounds like you gotta turn this dude into a preschooler and you gotta do a little like chore chart and hygiene chart. It's like, hey, when you get five stars, that's brushing your teeth five days in a row, you get a little smooch. Does that sound right? They should definitely know by then, but yeah, definitely. So uh let's get back to the basics and start brushing your teeth. It's crazy that it took her this long to realize, or maybe he's just gotten comfortable and he's like, yeah. You know, because when you first when you first start dating, you're brushing your teeth, you're doing everything right. Holding farts in. Holding farts in. Oh, I can't do this guy's probably just letting him rip all the time. Um, so your your advice, Josh, and Josh's wife, Eva, uh, is to uh uh have a talk, let him know that it's important, your hygiene, and if he doesn't fix it, he's out of there.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02Alright, perfect, Josh. Thank you so much. Uh Omar and Alma. Alma, let's get a woman's point of view. What do you say?
SPEAKER_05I mean, yeah, I would definitely talk to him because that's pretty gross.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, that's really gross. Deuces. See ya. You agree, Omar?
SPEAKER_01I mean, I I don't know. That's that's a tough one. When was the last time you brushed your teeth? There's morning.
SPEAKER_02Oh, there we go. I just feel bad for the guy. I mean, but come on, you gotta be uh you gotta be considerate of the other person, the relationship. And I people that don't brush their teeth, they're always like, I don't brush my teeth because my teeth don't smell. That's what you think. You don't smell your own bad breath. Okay. All right. Awesome. This was a juicy relationship advice. And I love that uh our relationship advice expert got advice from his wife.
unknownPerfect.
SPEAKER_02Congratulations, Josh. You just won two tickets to our comedy show this Saturday night at 6 30 p.m. at the Solo Elks Lodge. Compliments of our title sponsor, Alaberto's Mexican food, real fresh Mexican food. What station hooked you up?
SPEAKER_03200925. You know it.
Virgil Calls With Cowboy Wisdom
SPEAKER_02Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris. Who's this? Good morning, my friend. It's Virgil the Cowboy from Eager, Arizona. Omar and Alma, have you ever met Virgil the Cowboy? No, we have not. No, Virgil, have you ever uh eaten at Alaberto's?
SPEAKER_03Uh yes, I have.
SPEAKER_02There you go. Heck yeah. Well, you're talking to Omar and Alma right now from Alaberto's. What can we do you for today?
SPEAKER_03Uh, I heard you're crying again.
SPEAKER_02I was crying. I was looking for a caller to give away tickets, but we got it. We got Josh. We did relationship advice. Did you hear the uh relationship advice today, Virgil?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, bring him over here to the res. We'll throw him in the cattle trough.
SPEAKER_02So bring him to the res, and you'll do what?
SPEAKER_03Throw him in the cattle trough.
SPEAKER_02The cattle trough. So so this guy, he doesn't he has horrible hygiene issues. So your suggestion is put him in the cattle trough. What is that? I'm not a cowboy. That's where the cows drink the water, right? Is that where the cows drink the water?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and so and so what? If you do that, you don't have to brush your teeth.
SPEAKER_03Well, at least he smells like a cow and he's clean.
SPEAKER_02So, Virgil, do you brush your teeth every day? No judgment here. Um, yeah, I do. Uh Virgil. Virgil, do you do you floss?
SPEAKER_03Uh chew gum a lot.
SPEAKER_02Chew gum, yeah. Who needs to floss? That's what I tell my dentist. The only time I floss is like right before I go to the dentist. Yeah. And then and then my gums start bleeding, and I'm like, ooh, horrible. So uh Virgil's advice for this uh lady is just to throw him in the cow. Throw him in the yeah, he's a cow. He's a cow. If he's gonna if he's gonna smell like one, he should hang out with them, right there, Virgil?
SPEAKER_03There you go.
Girl Scout Cookie Trivia Showdown
SPEAKER_02Do you want to play a game this morning?
SPEAKER_03Uh go for it.
SPEAKER_02Virgil, we are gonna play Are You Smarter Than a Cowboy? And you're gonna find out if you're smarter than Omar and Alma at Alabos. Today is Girl Scout Day. So we're gonna do some Girl Scout trivia. Do you like Girl Scout cookies, Virgil? Uh yes, sir, I do. What's your favorite one? Chocolate one. The which one? Chocolate. The chocolate ones. Ooh, thin mints. Mmm, yeah. And they taste so good in the freezer when they're frozen. All right, here we go. Uh, these are multiple choice. If you know the answer, say your name, Virgil versus Alberto's. Here we go. Which Girl Scout cookie is the most popular? Is it A, Thinmints, B, Tagalons, C, Samoas, or D, Dosy Dos?
SPEAKER_05Thinmints.
SPEAKER_02Is it Thin Mints? Alma! Alma's up 1-0 against Virgil the cowboy. All right. About how many boxes of Girl Scout cookies are sold each year in the US? Is it A, 50 million, B, 100 million, C, 200 million, or D, 300 million? What? Four-year-old options? Uh Virgil. What's your guess? D. D?
SPEAKER_04D.
SPEAKER_02As in 300 million? No. It's either 50, 100, or 200 million. What's your guess? 100. No, you both are wrong. Correct answer. 200 million. 200 million. 200 million. Seven cookies or boxes? Boxes, right? How many boxes? That's boxes. Boxes. That's boxes, so it's even more. More cookies. Who's eating all these cookies? Uh me. Which all right. If you guys get one more right, it's over. If Virgil gets this one next right, we go into overtime. Which cookie is lemon-flavored? Is it A? Lemon Ups. B, Tagalong, C, Trefoils, or D, Dosy Dose?
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_02Oh, uh, Virgil says Dosey Dose? Yes. Okay. You think the lemon-flavored cookie is Dosy Dose and not lemon-ups?
SPEAKER_05Well, because I feel like lemon ups is so obvious.
SPEAKER_02I've never heard of lemon-ups, but that's what the that's the correct answer.
SPEAKER_05Oh, really?
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It is lemon-ups. Congratulations, Omar and Alma. You are smarter than Virgil the cowboy.
Alaberto’s 40 Years Of Memories
SPEAKER_02Heck yeah. I've had so much fun this morning hanging out with my best friends Alma and Omar over there at Alaberto's. Uh, you guys, this is an exciting year for you guys because it's 40 years, the 40th anniversary of Alaberto's real fresh Mexican food. 40 years is a long time, longer than you guys have been alive. And uh I know you've made a lot of great memories at Alaberto's. Do you guys have one thing that sticks in your mind, uh like, you know, a great memory about Alaberto's over these 40 years?
SPEAKER_05I do.
SPEAKER_02I mean Alma, you go first.
SPEAKER_05I guess it's more about like just a memory that I have at Alaberto's, not like pertaining a lot to Alberto's, but there used to be vending machines at one of the stores in San Diego that we would get these little like sticky gooey things, and Omar and I would like sit on the benches and we would like throw them, and it was so much fun. And that's like one of my core childhood memories is hanging out with him at the restaurant, sticking these things on the ceiling.
SPEAKER_02And how about you, Omar?
SPEAKER_01I mean, there's so many things that you know have gone through the years that you know, happy, uh sad, uh upsetting, uh lots of hard work. Um I think uh my core memory would have to be opening up the stay the Taylor location.
SPEAKER_02And uh I was actually there for your grand opening. Oh, you were? Yeah, yeah. When I first moved up here, it was the first live remote I ever did, and it was it was such a cool party. And uh that was how long, eight years ago?
SPEAKER_01That was eight years ago, actually, on the third of this month.
SPEAKER_02Eight years ago, Alaberto's Taylor. Happy anniversary. Time flies when you're making burritos, huh? It sure does. Well, I am so grateful uh for Alaberto's. You guys do so many great things for the community, and you've been a uh such a great supporter of the morning brew with Chris Bennett and best friends and my comedy shows. So just thank you so much for all your support. And uh, everyone, you know what? Let's go support Alaberto's today and uh go get yourself a breakfast burrito, go get yourself something good for lunch, go get yourself something for dinner. They have uh a great menu with basically something for the whole family, including wings. Wings I love the wings, absolutely.
Alex Calls And Community Thanks
SPEAKER_02Good morning. It's the morning brew with Chris. Who's this? This is Alex, and Alex from Allaberto. Alex from Alabertos. We're having fun with Alma and Omar today. Uh, and they just shared their favorite memories uh of Alabertos. Uh, do you have uh in in the 40 years that uh Allabertos has been in business, uh, what's uh a core memory or a favorite memory you have?
SPEAKER_00Uh something that sticks out. I mean, like Omar said, you know, there's uh there's a lot of things, and I think anybody that's in the in the restaurant business could uh understand that there's so many moving factors of of all the uh inner workings and you know, kind of, you know, especially you know being there as you know, my dad owned it, and you we kind of saw the kind of like the behind the scenes kind of things of what goes on apart from you know just cooking or just you know serving the tables. But something that kind of sticks out right now that you're saying uh core memories. So I remember um I was, you know, my my parents were always working, so I would say I was around two or three, and and they didn't have money, you know, for a babysitter, so I would hang around the restaurant. And back in uh what is that? I was born in '89, so early nineties, uh, there wasn't any fountain drinks. Or at least, you know, we we we weren't able to have fountain drinks at our location. So we had the Coke for the 24 packets of Coke, and my dad would have a bunch of them, and he had made like a little corral, you know, kind of like little baby corral. But he made them out of those Coke 24 cans, and then he would lay down a bunch of those uh 50-pound bean bags. So that was basically, you know, my my little bed made out of bean bags, uh, 50-pound bean bags, um, and then the little corral made out of the 24 packs of uh Coca-Cola, which you know it's something that just kind of when you said a memory, that's something that that's popped up. But you know, just meeting everybody, uh, you know, meeting so many cool people. Um, also, you know, you also have, you know, the the work the the work that you have to put in, but uh just a bunch of you know, a bunch of different, you know, memories and you know ups and downs. But above all, you know, want to really thank you know the white mom community uh for supporting Albertos and I mean and you know the the staff that helps us out because to be real, you know, without you know customer support or without uh our employees helping us out, in reality, we we wouldn't be where we're where we're at. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Heck yeah. Well, uh as I told uh Omar and Alma, thank you so much for your support of me and uh Q Country925's the morning brew. We absolutely love Allaberto's and everything you guys do for the community, and uh thank you so much for making delicious, fresh Mexican food. It's so delicious.
SPEAKER_00Thank you guys. Thank they to the morning brew, uh Q Country, and and you know, to be honest, you know, you you also put us out there, you know. Who doesn't who doesn't like to listen to Chris Bennett?
SPEAKER_02So, you know, likewise, likewise. Awesome. Well, uh best friend, thank you so much. And uh sorry we won't see you at the comedy show uh this Saturday, but uh we're gonna be there having a great time.
