Sometimes the best radio moments are the ones you can’t plan — and this one had everything.
We kick things off with a Diamondbacks ticket giveaway that turns into pure live radio chaos. One caller is cruising through Weird Holiday Trivia… then suddenly disappears mid-question, leaving us hanging and the prize back up for grabs. Enter Vicki from Eagar, who steps in and takes advantage of the second chance to win it with questions about Nashville hot chicken, No. 2 pencils, and even how many steps are in a mile.
From there, we bring in “Show Low’s own Dave Ramsey” for Boo or Cool, breaking down old school vs. new school habits — from using GPS in your own town to paying with your phone and ordering food on apps.
We also hit a quick Country News Minute before checking in with Jineane Ford and Steve Carvahal, highlighting the Sacred Easter Walk happening in Snowflake this week.
Then we wrap things up with Motivational Monday, focusing on self-control, mindset, and one powerful reminder: you have control over your mind, even when everything else feels uncertain.
If you like real moments, fun games, and something to take with you into the week, this episode’s for you. Follow, share, and let us know — would you have gotten those trivia questions right?

Uh, because today I was thinking for boo or cool, we would do some old school versus new school boo or cool. Uh, some new things going on, and you tell me if they are boo or cool. All right. Uh, so you said virtual vacation, totally boo. How about people who pay with their phone instead of cash? Cool. Yeah, really? I thought you were gonna say boo uh to that, but you just think that's cool? Yeah, I do all the time. Oh, really? Okay. Ordering food on an app instead of calling it in. Boo. Really? I love it. It's so much easier. You don't have to wait on hold. Uh, why do you hate it? Every time I do, I get my car hacked. Oh, okay. You should make sure you're going to the right sites. How about texting instead of calling? Cool. Oh, really? You would I would think you would prefer to call someone over text them, but no?
SPEAKER_02I'd rather put my finger to the phone and then I've been on the phone too dang much lately, trying to get this dang dang fixed. I hate it.

SPEAKER_01How about uh uh it is uh take a walk in the park day? How about taking a walk just to walk? Is that boo or cool? It's cool if you can do it. Yeah, but you can't do it. Not very far. Not very far. Okay. And last one, uh using GPS on your phone, even in your town. Boo. Boo. Why? Why is that boo? If you don't know where you're going, stay at home. All right, buddy, talk to you later. Take care. Bye. Bye. It is now time for Chris's country news minute. Let's get caught up in the world of country. Uh, Nate Smith is admitting he probably should have been kicked off tour by Morgan Wallen after a prank went wrong. Pranks are always a bad idea. I hate pranks. Uh, he said on the first night of tour, he threw an entire drink on Morgan Wallen and uh while Morgan was on stage thinking it would be funny and it wasn't. It wasn't funny. He said Morgan totally could could have kicked him off tour, but instead he forgave him and they laughed it off. Nate even said Morgan's just that kind of guy. Super forgiving, awesome. Meanwhile, Lainey Wilson had a moment at one of her own shows where someone asked uh her for her backstage pass. Uh can we see your pass? She's like, uh, I am the pass. Sure, yeah, yeah, sure you are, they said. Uh, even she admitted she had a little accidental ego moment there. And real quick, Dasha, the star of the song Austin, is opening up saying during the height of that hit Austin, she actually felt like she lost a little bit of herself. But writing her new music helped her find her way back. I'm Chris Bennett, and that's my country news minute. Janine, you there?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I am. Hi, Chris.
SPEAKER_01Heck yeah. Good morning, good morning, good morning. How was your weekend?
SPEAKER_00It was great. It was great. And uh I also have Steve Carvajal back with me today.
SPEAKER_01Oh, nice, Steve. Welcome back, best friend. You guys must be uh getting ready for a juicy show on ITOC 1067's Voice of the Mountain tonight at five.
SPEAKER_03Keep everybody educated. Heck yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna be talking about see something, say something, because with the war going on, and for some people be more careful. And also, Chris, we're really excited because I went, one thing you mentioned about the weekend, I went to the Sacred Easter walk. It was amazing. It was so beautiful. The one in Snowflake? Snowflake, and guess what? I decided to carry it over this week, Monday through Thursday this week. Go to the Sacred Easter walk again at the Snowflake church there at 9th and 2nd, kind of in there, and so you they'll know where it's at. There in Snowflake, there's a couple banners, and it's gonna be one uh five to eight each night this week, Monday through Thursday.
SPEAKER_01And what so explain to me what I can expect if I uh go to this.
SPEAKER_00It's the full Easter story, and it's it's it's self-guided. You walk quietly through, and they have these wonderful placards that you're reading about the sets and the sounds and the smells. It is incredible. When you hit the nativity scene where Jesus is born, the the baby sounds and things that are coming from back, I mean it just get grabs your heart. And then the Last Supper, what an incredible and the artwork and the work they poured into this. It's beautiful. You could take 10 minutes to walk through and or you could stay in there for an hour. It is beautiful. Last night, Chris, they had 900 people show up.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it's beautiful and qu quiet and very and then the artwork when you come through the tomb and it, you know, you the artwork out in the oh my gosh. Well, all these people loan their art, and it was it's beautiful.
SPEAKER_01Oh, my wife and I want to check that out. So Monday through Thursday, and what time is it from?
SPEAKER_00Five to eight.
SPEAKER_01Five to eight, and where at?
SPEAKER_00At the church in Snowflake. It's kind of like it, it's either like nine west and second, ninth and second or whatever there. I can't remember which is west and which is south.
SPEAKER_03Ninth, south, and second west.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, Kevin. Oh, there we go. Ninth South, Second West. He comes through. Awesome.
Motivational Monday On Control
SPEAKER_01Awesome. Well, sweet, I will check that out. It is now time for Motivational Monday with Janine Ford and Steve Carvajal. I have some motivational quotes for you today. Today's theme is I am in control day. That's one uh that's uh one of the holidays that is today. And uh so here we go. I'll read some of these quotes and then you two tell me which one is our motivational quote for the week. All right. All right. Uh this is from Brian Tracy. He says you cannot control everything uh that happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward it. There we go. Okay. Michael Phelps said, the only thing you can control is your effort and attitude. Nice. Uh let's see. Uh Abraham Lincoln said, Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most. Is that all good ones?
SPEAKER_00I like them all of them so far. I'm gonna let Steve pick.
SPEAKER_01Marcus Aurelius said, You have power over your mind, not outside events. And last one, Jim Rohn. Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day. Oh, there we go.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Steve Carvajal, you're gonna pick our I gotta go with Marcus Aurelius.
SPEAKER_03That guy, I mean, I've got books written by or the books written about him, and they always refer to his quotes, and they're freaking awesome.
SPEAKER_00That's great. Awesome. I love that one too.
SPEAKER_01Today's motivational quotes from Marcus Aurelius. You have power over your mind, not outside events. So basically, uh decide what you can control, what you can't control, and uh just take care of what you can control, right?
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_01There we go. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00And be careful, keep your head on a swivel. See, I I'm I didn't want to pick any control thing because I I kind of like being out of control.
SPEAKER_01You do?
SPEAKER_00Or are you more of a I'm a random. I'm a random, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But you love being in control, Janine? What do you call no?
SPEAKER_00I I I am more of a I'm a little bit, I have a big heavy dose of a hip hippie in me. Uh-huh. And I kind of like, I kind of float along a little bit. My mom always said I was her butterfly. She said, you kind of light on people, brighten them up, and then you take off those Adidas running shoes, remember? Yep. Yeah. So it's my flaky side. I'm admitting to my flaky.
SPEAKER_03It's not flaky. It's not flaky. I'm just more that's my spirit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But when it's because things are serious.
SPEAKER_01Disturbing. When things get serious, you fly away.
SPEAKER_00It's disturbing. No, I mean, that's my happy side. That's my little whatever you want to call it. But I but I but when no, when it comes to serious stuff too, I'll choke you out. Okay, thank you. All right, thanks, best friends. Bye. Bye bye. Bye, buddy.
