Ex Flirting At The Party

SPEAKER_01

now time for relationship advice Thursday, and uh our relationship advice expert for this segment is Sho Lozone Dave Ramsey. Uh, you ready for the story, best friend? Sure. All right. Uh, this is uh 22-year-old male and his 22-year-old girlfriend. Here we go. I've been dating my girlfriend for about three years, and overall things have been really good between us. Well, a few weeks ago we went to a party, and I was surprised to see one of her exes there because she had always told me he really wasn't in the picture anymore. Later in the night, they ended up playing a party game together while I was talking with some other people. At first, it seemed harmless, but then they started reminiscing about their relationship, flirting, and even joking about their past in front of everyone. It got so uncomfortable that a couple of people actually walked away from the group. I finally left the party without saying much. The next day she said I overreacted and that she was just being friendly. But I told her I felt completely disrespected and ended up breaking up with her. Now she wants to get back together, and our friends are split on whether I handled it the right way or not. Did I overreact? Dave, uh joining you uh to help you out is uh Joe G from Horn Auto Center, our title sponsor for our anniversary bash.

SPEAKER_04

Morning, Dave. Morning.

SPEAKER_01

He sounds real excited.

SPEAKER_03

Now I've got I've got a cat in my damn ear.

SPEAKER_01

Nothing worse than a cat in the ear. All right. So, Dave, you heard the story. This dude went to a party with his girlfriend at three years. Her ex was there. She was kind of flirting with the ex. They were reminiscing about the past. He even made some people uncomfortable. So the next day he broke up with her, and now she wants to get back together. And uh their friends are kind of split on whether he handled it the right way or not. Did he overreact? What's your advice?

SPEAKER_04

No, he did not overreact one bit. And uh I had to put my feet to the street too and tell her, see the W on my jeans, keep kissing it. I'm walking out the door. The W on your jeans is Wranglers.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, oh, nice, nice. What about you, Joe? What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I wasn't there, but you know, you mentioned that they were talking about their previous love life and flirting and things like that. If that's true, I'm out. Okay. But, you know, I mean, it was it just innocent talking and hey, it's good to see you again. I mean, I don't know. Right. Have some self-confidence, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah. Uh on the Facebook Live, our Kendra Best Friendress said he did overreact, but he has a right to feel his feelings. Now they can reminisce when they meet up at a party. Oh, nice. Oh, there you go. When she comes with her new boyfriend. I like it. I like that. Awesome. Well, sweet. Well, Dave says just keep on walking, buddy, right? Yep. All right. We love you, best friend. Thanks so much for your help on today's relationship advice.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, anytime, buddy. All right, bye.

Horn Auto Center Joins In

SPEAKER_01

I'm so honored to have uh Joe G joining us today with Horn Auto Center. They are the uh official uh title sponsor for the Morning Bruise Anniversary Bash Listener Appreciation Party happening at the house this Saturday. Welcome aboard, Joe G.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks. I think we've been kind of uh the main deal since for six years, right? Pretty much, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I've been among others. Yeah, well, but you've been the studio sponsor for six years since I took over. And uh it's uh just I want to thank you guys and the whole team at Horn Auto Center for your support because if I didn't have sponsors and if I didn't have listeners, you wouldn't exist. I wouldn't exist, I wouldn't have a show. So thank you so much to Horn Auto Center.

SPEAKER_00

Also if you didn't have your mother.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, that's true. Well, you talking about my mama? Don't talk about my mama. But uh yeah, thank you so much uh for your support and so excited for you guys to be the title sponsor of our big bash this weekend. We got the cornhole tournament in the afternoon, and then at night, uh at starting at seven, we have the concert with Austin Burke, and uh you'll be off from work and hopefully you'll be there.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yep. I'll be there with uh Mrs. Joji and uh wristband on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Well, the sponsors get uh a little VIP section.

SPEAKER_00

Heck yeah. Um what you should do a video, like a splice of video together of moments from the six years.

Murder Shack Memories And Hornets

SPEAKER_00

That would be good. Because a lot of things have happened. You know, you have the murder shack.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, our our station burned down, then we were in the murder shack. What is your favorite memory of the morning brew if you just had to pick one, right?

SPEAKER_00

Probably my absolute favorite was when the Hornet came into the Murder Shack with you and Rochelle. Yeah, that was just that's comedy gold.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the murder shack was our temporary orbit.

SPEAKER_00

Rochelle left you in there.

SPEAKER_01

And in the summertime, the the hornets would come alive and they would just start coming in through some vent. And uh yeah, Rochelle from Hornado Center was sitting next to me, and a bee's flying around, and I'm like a bee, and she just ditches me and jumps out the murder shack and then shuts the door and leaves me in there.

SPEAKER_00

Well, at first you were screaming, but she didn't know why you were screaming, so she just started screaming, and then she realized what was going on. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, man. So many great memories of the morning brew with Chris Bennett and best friends, and uh, we're so excited to uh celebrate six years at the house brought to you by Horn Auto Center. Good morning, it's the morning brew with Chris Bennett, and today's guest Joe G from Horn Auto Center. Who's

Brian Calls With Favorite Moments

SPEAKER_01

this?

SPEAKER_02

Good morning, Joe G. Good morning, Chris Bennett.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, Brian from Pinedale. Yep. Yeah, you heard us uh go down a little memory lane.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's why I called. One of the best things I think came out of the murder shack was small town famous.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Comedy special uh we filmed while I was in the uh the murder shack, and it was really cool that uh we uh my friend John Kittle, Kittle's Fine Art, uh made the uh the backdrop, and we had the murder shack as the backdrop in my comic show.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that was cool.

SPEAKER_01

That was super awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, it put you it put you out there into the world. Yep, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So did my mom. Yeah, I know. But uh if you had to pick another uh one of your favorite memories of the morning brew with Chris Bennett and Best Friends, what would it be?

SPEAKER_02

Uh when you went to try out for football.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. That was I've done it's so funny. I've forgotten all the weird things I've done. Uh and like the that the community has let me do. When he yaked up Gatorade? Yep, yep, uh, yeah. And Brian came to watch me. I tried out for Blue Ridge Youth Football because I wanted to see if I had the right stuff to be the starting quarterback, and I didn't. I threw I threw up I think 15 minutes into it or something. Yeah, something like that. It was pretty close. And they made me backup quarterback, which is kind of ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it gave it gave me an honorable position, though.

SPEAKER_00

Some backups make it happen. Look at Brissett.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Awesome. Well, thank you so much, Brian, and uh, thank you for being a part of the brew crew. We're so excited to see you this uh Saturday.

SPEAKER_02

Saturday, yeah. We're gonna have a party. Yes, we are. Heck yes.

Family Judgment Over Height Difference

SPEAKER_01

We are back for some more relationship advice on this relationship advice Thursday, and Joe G from Hornado Center is our relationship advice expert. You ready? I'm ready. All right, here we go. Uh I'm 30 years old, and my girlfriend 31 and I have been together for over two years. We're talking about getting married, and honestly, I love everything about her. She's caring, she's funny, emotionally mature, and we really understand each other. The problem is my family completely disapproves of our relationship because of her height. I'm 5'11 and she's 4'8, and they keep telling me we don't look right together. They even brought up concerns about future kids and possible medical issues because of the height difference. At first I brushed it off, but after hearing comments from family, friends, and even random strangers, I started second-guessing myself. Now I feel guilty because I hate that outside opinions are affecting me this much when she's done absolutely nothing wrong. Am I letting social pressure ruin a really great relationship? Uh, is he making a big deal of this? Allowing them to get into his head?

SPEAKER_00

What's your advice for this? Yes, he's letting them get in his head. I think that's ridiculous. I mean, that's like saying you can't be with her because she's African American or because she's Italian, or, you know, my wife doesn't have a problem with little people. She's with me. Right? So, I mean, that's stupid. Come on.

SPEAKER_01

So, are you shorter than your wife? Yeah. Do you do you think her family tried to convince uh her not to marry you because of your height?

SPEAKER_00

Well, probably not because of the height.

SPEAKER_01

So your advice for him is just to ignore the family. And what if the family keeps giving him a hard issue with it?

SPEAKER_00

Just do you, be you. It's you know, if you like little people, be with them. Yeah, but yeah, I mean that's stupid.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and you know, it makes you feel like a big, strong man. He's 5'11, she's 4'9, so yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It makes him feel strong. Why? Because he picks her up a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you maybe, I don't know, because he's just so much bigger than her.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's great. Good for him. And good for her. She gets a tall guy. Yes, yeah. She's not pigeonholed itch. Imagine her family said you can't be with him, he's too tall.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right, right. So Joe G's advice to you ignore your family. You're letting them get in your head. And if you love the person, you love the person. Not because of their height, not because of any other external factors. If she's a great person and you want to spend the rest of your life with her, then do it. She's a giant inside. There you go. That was relationship advice with Joe G.

SPEAKER_05

Woo! That's Bob Lord! Yeah,

Paul From Beaumont And The Wheelbarrow

SPEAKER_05

yeah!

SPEAKER_01

Paul from Beaumont. Holy moly, Paul from Beaumont. What a great surprise. We're talking about our big anniversary bash happening at the house this weekend, brought to you by Horn Auto Center. And uh, we're reminiscing about our favorite memories of the morning brew. Uh, you're a huge part of the morning brew, best friend. What are some of your favorite, or what is one favorite memory of the morning brew?

SPEAKER_05

Man, just one. There's a few, man. Every time I make you cry. That's easy to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's not hard to do. Uh, what else?

SPEAKER_05

Uh probably the first time I called y'all.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's so funny. We were like, because we were playing a game trying to see who was listening to us the furthest away, and he's like, Beaumont, Texas. And we're like, how in the world are we getting into Beaumont, Texas? And he's like, Facebook, you idiots. Oh, man. I uh think uh I'm so grateful every day that uh you uh entered our lives, man. You're you're such a big part of the show, and people love you.

SPEAKER_05

I appreciate it, man. I I tell you, I mean, the show that that show low, the show itself has been, I mean, such a great blessing to me. And I mean I'm I'm I'm thankful whenever I'm able to go there, I'm able to help some, you know, or cause or something and just get back to that community. You don't know what it's uh what uh you know what what y'all done in my life. It's you know kind of made me grow in in a way.

SPEAKER_00

That's kind of sad. Well, we're no, that's great.

SPEAKER_01

Uh we're bummed you're not gonna be able to make it for the anniversary bash, but we definitely need to uh uh get you out here again sometime, best friend. Uh, we love you anything new and juicy in your world.

SPEAKER_05

I just now I just gotta get ready for Rhonda's birthday. All I gotta do is get a card because I already got her. The gift I got are covered everything is mall.

SPEAKER_01

Well, he got her a gift for Mother's Day. He got her a wheelbarrow.

SPEAKER_05

She's got three wheels, though. She's got two wheels, so she doesn't have to balance.

SPEAKER_01

It's uh it's the Cadillac of uh uh wheelbarrows. It's got two wheels.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and I guess yeah, it's got two wheels on the front.

SPEAKER_01

Oh wow. And so uh you don't have to get her anything for her birthday, or and you just had your anniversary, you didn't have to get her anything for that either. Just the wheelbarrow covers it all?

SPEAKER_05

She wanted some she wanted some new machine that was an arm and a leg, and I had to go sell you don't know it yet, but I had to sell your kidney they're crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Awesome. Well, well, when did they invent the wheelbarrow? A hundred two hundred years ago?

SPEAKER_05

No, longer than that, bro. Remember back in the day, like the old, the old medieval days, they had the wood ones.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so they didn't think about putting two wheels on the front back then. They had to wait until 2026 to go, you know what? We should put two wheels in the front. It's not as much of a pain.

SPEAKER_05

Exactly, exactly. I mean, hey, that they were hey, they made a break through just getting a wheelbarrow. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Uh Chris is wearing his Texas shirt today.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and Your Honor. There you go, Texas. He's from Texas, I can tell by the way. Well, Paul, we gotta get going, best friend, but I love you. Thanks for sharing your favorite memories of the uh morning brew, and uh hopefully uh uh we'll talk to you tomorrow.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, absolutely, man. Absolutely. I'll I'll be calling back. So y'all have a great day, man. Enjoy your day, be safe, and uh keep it real.

SPEAKER_00

All right. See you there, Paul. Say hi to Rhonda from us. Will do, buddy.

SPEAKER_01

Bye.
